MDM System Access

<b>Question (from ISV):</b>
I need some clarification.  Since we have access to XI in the hosted environment, and MDM is part of NetWeaver, can we assume that we do indeed have access to MDM in the hosted environment? Or is access to MDM not part of our XI+1 agreement?
<b>Answer (from ICC Consultant):</b>
We currently do not have MDM on our hosted environment:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn?rid=/webcontent/uuid/15330f73-0501-0010-d59e-8a32e220b2ed [original link is broken]

I've seen some RKT's workshops specially for MDM, from the very begining up to some tests and advanced functionality.
You should be able to access them throug http://service.sap.com/rkt if you are a partner/customer/SAP employee.
Otherwise you can use the SDN (free) resources. However, you can't download it from here,  only from market place

  • MDM system access to SAP

    Hi,
Could anybody please tell how to maitain system data for an MDM system and the procedure to open MDM system access to SAP thru WTS? I tried to create system data for MDM system but I dont know what value to provide for SID as MDM system does not have three digit SID just like regular SAP systems.
    Any response is greatly appreciated.
    thanks
    Chandu...

Okay one more read of ur Issue hints that u r more concerned with opening ur MDM box for some SAP support connection,'
    U can do this:
    1. update ur ticket asking SAP to open a webEX session and either of you two parties can be the leader and run the show.
    2. If you insist on  WTS way, then install the normal MDM GUI clients on the Terminal server and let SAP login into it and access your MDM box.
    points to note:
it really depends on your landscape: how many ports u want to expose to outside world via WTS just for this session. etc etc. and also on your MDM installation environment...like DB & App server & clients on 3 different servers...then u end up hooking up WTS to all these three with access granted to SAP for all the logs on these various nodes.
My suggestion, go for webEX....... u run the show, pick up that phone and show them all the logs they want at your comfort.!

  • How to map Portal User groups to a MDM System?

    Hi,
Have anyone tried mapping portal user group to a MDM System?
The idea is to avoid each user to do user mapping for MDM of their own.
When i look into the usermapping section of a portal user group, it shows me a message -
"There are no systems available for user mapping for the selected principal"
    Thanks and best regards,
    Arun prabhu S

    Hi All,
    Got it!
    1. Create portal users,
    2. Create a portal user group,
    3. Assign Users to User group,
    4. Go to System Administration, edit permission of the MDM system, add the user group to the MDM system permission list and save
    5. Go to User Management, modify the user grooup, go to the User mapping of the user group and do mapping for MDM system and user group using a valid MDM User name and password and Save
    6. In User Management, modify the Portal role for MDM , add the user group to the role and save
    7. Edit permission of the role object, add the user group to the permission list and save
    Result:
All the users assigned to the user group will be able to access MDM information on the portal correspond to the MDM mapping done at the user group level. This avoids self user mapping in personalization link.
    Best regards,
    Arun prabhu S

  • Cannot find mdm.System

I have an IMAC with Snow Leopard. I have two log in ID's set up, on mine and one for my Daycare Children with only games on the Dock. I have installed Dora Lost and Found and it was working fine regardless of which login ID was used. Then I started getting the cant find mdm.System error message when launching the program in the Daycare login but not in my log in. I have both my log in and the Daycare log in set as Admin. I deleted the program and re installed when logged in under Daycare. No change. I could access and launch in my login and everything ran fine. In the Daycare login, I could not even access the folder. Had to go back to my log in and indicate Daycare read and write to share files. Was finally able to open the folder and try to launch but got the same error message. But it still runs fine under my log in. Any ideas?

    HI again...
Dora Lost and Found information here... minimum requirements are for 10.5 (Leopard).
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/TW524LL/A
That doesn't mean it's compatible with Snow Leopard 10.6
That's probably why you are seeing the, "cannot findf mdm.system"...

  • Error while creating MDM system on Portal

    Hi All,
I am trying to create MDM system in EP. MDM is 5.5 SP06. EP is 7.0 . We have upgraded the MDM sca files on Portal from SP05 to SP06.
While creating the system , after entering the server, we are getting the following error.
com.sap.mdm.internal.protocol.manual.ServerException: File failed a crc check
    Please help
    Regards
    Shilpa

    Hi Shilpa,
If this is your MDM build version 5.5.63.80 SP06. It means you are using MDM 5.5 SP06 Patch3 hotfix 80.
You need to find the Sca file of compatible with this version.
    So they should be
    - MDMJAVAAPI06_03.sca
    - BPMDMAPPLN06_03.sca
    - BPMDMTECHN06_03.sca
The hotfix number can slightly differ but the Support pack and patch number must match.
You need to follow this link:
    http://service.sap.com/swdc
(download MDM support packages) Download>support packages and patches>entry by application
    group>sap netweaver>sap mdm>sap mdm 5.5>Entry by component>Portal content
Then select which MDM portal content you want and check what is the version of those available sca files.
based on the availablity of the sca files you need to upgrade/downgrade or server.
As compatibility between the server version and sca files is a must for proper functioning. If its not possible to change your mdm server version then you can ask your Basis team to hunt the matching sca files for you.
    Hope It Helped
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi All,
I am having exactly the same problem with the same stack trace. Has anybody have an idea how to fix this?
I have downloaded the Java Identity Management Suite.(java_es-5-identsuite-ga-windows-x86.zip) The first time installation was fine and I was able to bring the Access Manager console. I was able to create users groups etc.
However, when I uninstalled and installed it again, I got exactly the same error described in the thread. Running "amserver start" and "amserver restart" did not help. I did the installation one more time
but again I got the same error.
    Thanks for the help.

Yesterday,I could.Given that you have provided nothing in the way of usable information to isolate the problem I can only suggest restarting your directory server (assuming it hasn't crashed) then restarting the web-container hosting Access Manager and see if that fixes the problem.
If not, you will have to look further into the web-server logs and the directory server logs to see why the problem is occurring.

  • Implement Direct Inward System Access (DISA) in VoIP Environment

    Hi,
May i know, is it possible to implement DISA Call in VoIP environment. If yes, how we can make it? Is it some configuration in CE Router at SRST Sites or CE Router at Main Sites? Also can you give me the information how to implement it?
As I understand DISA (Direct Inward System Access) allows someone calling in from outside the telephone switch (PBX) to obtain an "internal" system dialtone and dial calls as if from one of the extensions attached to the telephone switch. Frequently the user calls a number DISA number with invokes the DISA application. The DISA application in turn requires the user to enter his passcode, followed by the pound sign (#). If the passcode is correct, the user will hear dialtone on which a call may be placed.
    Please advise me as soonest.
    Thanks in advanced
    Rgds,
    Izazi Zainy

Giving users access to system dial tone via DISA is a security hole on PBX's and VOIP system so be careful how you use it. The following note describes how to use a TCL script and audio prompts to allow a user to call in and authenticate via an account number and PIN before they can dial an internal number. This will allow basic DISA type functions on a H323 gateway. Obviously you would also want to log the details of who made the call and when they made it, so syslog VOIP accounting is enabled to send a CDR to a syslog server.
We use an inbuilt TCL script that is inbuilt in IOS called 'clid_authen_collect'. This script authenticates the call with the ANI (Calling number) and DNIS (Called number) of the incoming call, or if this fails, it then prompts the user to enter an account number and then a PIN number. Since the call is coming in on an FXO (or FXS) port, there is no associated ANI and DNIS, so the script immediately prompts the user for the account number and PIN. We do the authentication by a local 'username XXX password YYY' command in the router config. The user keys in the account code and PIN (can use the # as a string terminator to speed the process up and if the values entered match a local username and password, it then prompts for the user to enter the actual destination telephone number.
I have also enabled syslog accounting for call detail records, so when the call completes you get a basic record of the called number and durations. If they wanted to use a full blown AAA server, they could run the authentication from this and this way keep a full log of all users calling in, and it would also log the CDR's for billing etc ...
The router needs the following audio .AU files on the flash memory :
    Test#sh flash
    System flash directory:
    File Length Name/status
    1 14097360 c2600-is-mz.122-11.T.bin
    2 14150 enter_account.au
    3 14869 auth_fail_retry.au
    4 11510 enter_pin.au
    5 52644 enter_destination.au
    [14190860 bytes used, 2062068 available, 16252928 total]
16384K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write)
    Test#
(obviously needs the IOS image but the important files are the audio prompts)
The .au files are the audio prompts that the IVR plays. These are in Sun/Next audio 64Kbps G711ulaw audio format. Use an audio editor to create the files and save them in this format.
When a call comes in on FXO port 1/0/0, you will hear a prompt to enter the account code. Key in the account number, followed by a #, then key in the PIN , followed by #. The caller will be prompted to enter the destination phone number, and this is matched on any subsequent voip or pots dial peers.
Configured user account numbers/passwords are 1000/1000 and 1001/1001
Refer to the attachment for the full router configs. Hope this helps.

  • SAP File System Access - SLD Naming Convention/Suggestions

I would like to access our ECC file system to pick up files we will use to create Idocs.
I'm wondering the best way to describe the file system access in the SLD.
I have a business system for the main client on the ECC  system (BS_ED1CLNT010) for example but the OS isn't client specific.    I could use this as the Business System in the scenario and define a file adapter that connects to the unix server.
    Any thoughts?

Maybe I didn't frame my question properly.
In the ECC system we have multiple clients (20,30,40, etc).  If I am going to post an Idoc to a client in this system I need to define each as a business system in the SLD and import this to the Integration Directory.    So I would have BS_XXXCLNT010, BS_XXXCLNT020, etc, one for each client.   These all share the same Technical System.    If I want to post an Idoc to a client on the ECC system I have to define a Business System and interface to that and every client that will receive an Idoc. (as well as the ALE settings on the ECC)
Each of these reside on the same SAP server (sap00001 for example) and there is a directory (/public for example)  on this server.     This isn't client specific.
I wish to pick up a file from the ECC file system and post a client on the ECC system (maybe different ones based on the data in the file).
I don't want to define the file adapter under BS_XXXCLNT020 since it isn't specifc to client 020 although that would work.
Do I create a new TS in the SLD as third party, stand alone java, and a BS for that?    TS_XXX_FILESYSTE (3rd party).  BS_XXX_FILESYSTEM for the TS?
I'm really looking for clarity in the definition of the SLD.

    Hi ,
I found a document which says that MDM4J is the legacy API and is considered deprecated .The MDM Java API is the new one .I have both of them in the java build path . I am not sure if this is that cause of the problem .
Now I had a look at the javadoc for the new API but I am not able to locate the class to obtain a connection to the MDM server from a custom application being built in Netweaver Developer Studio . Can someone help me out with the same ?What would be the code to obtain the connection to the MDM server with the new JAVA API ?

  • Direct File System access problems from JAWS application

    Hello,
I have built a Web Start application that consists of a Webserver (Jetty) ,
a WAR file and a Java (main) class that deploys the web application on
the server and starts the server. It all works fine, apart from the fact
that I am getting java.security.AccessControlExceptions when I try to
access the local filesystem or system variables like the java.io.tmpdir.
I have signed all the jar files and I included the<security> <allpermissions />
</security> tag in the jnlp file. Still, I can't seem to get out
    of the sandbox.
I have read in this article (http://mindprod.com/jgloss/javawebstart.html)
that direct file system access from a Web Start application is impossible
(Quote: "There is still no way for even a signed JAWS app to
find some persistent disk space in an easy way. It pretty well
has to ask the user for the name of some directory to use.")
    Is this true?
    Thank you,
    Peter

    Hi Guys,
I found a way to access the local filesystem...
Besides signing all the jar files and including the<security><allpermissions /></security> tag in the jnlp file I have to include this line in the code I execute on the client machine:

  • EWA & IT Reporting on MDM System

    Hi,
We are configuring our MDM System in System Monitoring.
Is that possible to configure EWA & IT Reporting for MDM Systems in Solution Manager System Monitoring.?
    Pls Advise
    Thanks
    Arun

    Hello
Please to be clear, EWA for MDM is possible however only the Standard JAVA checks can be made.
There are no MDM checks for EWA. There maybe MDM checks in the future.
So 1) Yes EWA can be generated on an MDM system with SDM installed
         2) The EWA will be a standard Java system EWA and will have no MDM specific checks.
    Hope this makes everyhting clear.
    Regards,
    Paul
