MDM-XI-R/3 Integration

Hi Sap Gurus,
I am trying to integrate MDM,XI,R/3 as per the configuration guide for mdm5.5 sp02.But my problem is that in the document it is said that in transaction bd 64 specify the sender as R/3 System and Receiver as XI system but the message type as debmdm(customer) and cremdm(vendor) but i feel it should be debmas and cremas instead just because when i try to creeate idoc for customer by tansaction bd12 i get message type in the transaction as debmas.And when i try to release it i get 0 communication idocs created.Kindly let me know what has to be done.Tell me if at all i am missing any technical aspect.

1: Can we have XI and MDM installtion done on the same box using same
hostname.??
2. Can you please let me know as to what should be the minimum or a good
server configuration for a MDM Installation.
3.Also if someone can please provide the configuration steps for a
successful MDM installation or can provide a helpful link where i can
find the confiuration steps.
4. Any realtime e.g of XI interfacing with MDM.

SRM MDM 3.0 Catalog in MDM 7.1 - Portal Integration - Failed Connection

We are in the process of building up SRM MDM Catalog 3.0 in MDM 7.1 environment, we are able to
login/Configure using http://Server:port/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM , but when we try to connect to the same URL using portal workset - Emplyee Self service ( Configured the same URL in SRM Server - defined external web service and linked with all mdm-user credentails ), it gives error - saying like "error connecting catalog - see system administrator "
My questions are
1. Is it mandatory to use Portal-MDM ivews to build the catalog page and assign it to users or we can also follow the same methadology like defining the webservice in SRM by providing URL with credentials?
2. if we can define SRM MDM catalog UI using external catalog webservice definition, then how we would integrate it to the portal page ( in Shop page ) - is any config required in portal side?

I m facing a problem during mapping between a XML file & IDoc Str.
Problem:-
Dest IDoc is GLMAST01 whic have a str called E1SKATM which have 0 to unbound occurence. it's field are
1.MSGFN
2.SPRAS
3.TXT20
4.TXT50
The Source File That i m getting from MDM have following Str:
               Occurence
1.MSGFN         0 to 1
2.SPRAS         0 to unbound
3.TXT20         0 to unbound
4.TXT50         0 to unbound
Basically it is giving all language & corresponding Act grp Name looping under single msgfn but we need it seprately
for example:
Suppose we have three lang EN, DE, Let us say French.
Then i m getting
Source source str in the following format
<-Start of Source Str>
MGSFN - 004
SPARS-E
TXT20- any string
TXT50-any string
SPARS-D
TXT20- any string
TXT50-any string
SPARS-French
TXT20- any string
TXT50-any string

But MY DESTINATION Str is excepting the following format

I want to try out a test case scenario where in i would be importing and exporting data to XI (Using XML files i guess)
I am a newbie in MDM integration.
Please help me out with my trial project.
What i already have:
I have MDM system and repository on which i have been learning basic MDM designing a (test)repository of my own.
What information i need:
-What all system requirements (XI system configuration and all) are needed to established. (What all should i be asking the XI and the system admin guys to be able to get the platform ready for me.*
*-The further procedure for actual integration to be done for importing/exporting data as in a real time project scenario

SInce you want to try a test scenario including MDM and XI, I would suggest you to try
ECC -> XI->MDM scenario
Wherein you can take the data from ECC in the form of IDOCs and convert them into XML.
You can then import the XML into an MDM repository. MDM repository can be a Customer, Material, Vendor etc repository. Hence extract the similar data from ECC.
Kindly follow the steps below:
1) Firstly you will have to extrcat the look-up table data from R3 using MDMGX transaction-

2) For loading the main Table Data into MDM, kindly follow the link below, which will guide you to the config/prcoess that will be required for the data to be uploaded from R3 into MDM.

You will have to extract the data from R3 in the form of IDOCS and then using XI, you will have to convert them into XML format as MDM understands that.

Could you please let me know that what is DB view in SAP MDM 7.1?
I came to know that sap provides a special tool which does the creation of DB views.
Where will I get those tool details? and How to create it?

This DB view is not part of standered shipmet. for that you need to contact SAP repsentative.

SRM-MDM Catalog - XI Scenario

Hi,
I am working on SRM-MDM Catlog 1.0 integration with XI.
I have to configure scenarios in XI for:
1) Upload of Supplier catalog via Server File System to SAP MDM catalog. for example in XML Format.
2) Replication of Product and COntract data.
We have to use SRM_MDM_CATALOG scenario contained within XI Content uploaded for SRM_MDM.
=>I already have uploaded the XI Integration Content in Integration repository (SRM_MDM_CATALOG).
=>I already have SRM-MDM 1.0 catalog Configuration guide, But it doesnot detail much about scenario(components involved in Integration Repository and Integration Directory)
Do anyone have some document which details about scenario or any help material regarding the same/or if some expert can Guide/Brief me on the scenario.

R/3-XI-MDM using MATMDM

Dear Experts,
I have to do a sceario for R/3-XI-MDM for material idoc.Can we use MATMDM for material as we use CREMDM and DEBMDM for Vendor and Customer IDOC respectively. Wherever i searched, i found people using only MATMAS for Material.
If MATMDM can be used , then please provide with the useful links if you can.

SAP MDM-XI-R/3 Scenario

Hi,
I'm working on MDM-XI-R/3 integration. The integration between R/3 and MDM has been done.
First XI posts Idoc ADRMAS and then posts Idoc DEBMAS.
We tried sending the data thrice. the first two times ADRMAS was getting posted to the application successfully and DEBMAS was under status 30. It still is under processing.
The third time when i sent it, ADRMAS gave me an error status 51 saying the function module(not sure of the name) is not allowed. the status of the DEBMAS is the same.
Any ideas what is the problem?
It will be highly appreciated if anyone of you come up with solutions.

I guess the Inbound process code must be having different function module.
The combinations are as follows.
DEB2 for DEBMAS (module IDOC_INPUT_DEBITOR_MDM)
CRE2 for CREMAS (module IDOC_INPUT_CREDITOR_MDM)
BAPI_MDM for ADRMAS, ADR2MAS and ADR3MAS (module BAPI_IDOC_INPUT_MDM)
MAT2 for MATMAS (module IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS_MDM)
So check in your case is the process code is BAPI_MDM and function module is BAPI_IDOC_INPUT_MDM. You can also see the attached FM for a process code in tcode WE42.

Differences between MDM 3.0 and MDM 5.5?

We can look at differences in more than one way:
1. Technology wise
MDM5.5 is developed in C++ & runs on a C++ engine as compared to MDM 3.0 which runs under WAS
However MDM 5.5 is integrated with NW largely, though it can & is planned to be improved further
2. Product Catalog Management
MDM 5.5 has rich PCM capabilities which did not exist in MDM 3.0
3. Other additional capabilities in 5.5
Multilingual support
Syndication of data to XI or file system
Lean, R/3 Idoc based model for supplier, customer, material, employee
4. Ease of installation and usage is a also an advantage of 5.5

Any PIP available for Product Data Hub(PIM) integration with AppsR12

We can a requirement to one of our customer, we need to implement MDM(CDH,PIM) and we need to integrate this with other spoke systems like EBS.
we want to know whether is there any PIP available for MDM(PDH or PIM) integration with Oracle Apps R12 with any other system and our SOA environment is SOA 11g.

We also need to know AIA 3.1 MDM (PDH) PIP's were released for 11g FMW. AIA 2.5 MDM PIP's uses 10g AS (SOA 10g).
Edelivery doesn't have MDM PIPS listed for AIA 3.1 or under AIA 11g. It has foundation pack but not specific to MDM PIP for Product that I'm looking for.

Regarding your first question, you may visit the link https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/instguidesnw04 and then goto Planning-> SAP MDM -> MDM 5.5 SP03 Scenario description guides. Here you will find the scenarios that can be achieved using SAP MDM.
For second question, MDM apart from ERP integration can also be used for Rich product content management along with all the other scenarios as discussed in the above document.
