I am truely confused by how you are attempting to achieve things.
1. The Office 2013 package is only supported if deployed globally
2. AppLocker is the way to restrict users from starting different applications
3. Office 2013 is not supported to be published to users
It seems you have issues with #3. Which is not supported. I am not saying it "doesn't" work, but considering you have issues with it - perhaps we can start by not doing it?
Ok, so what do we have left;
Per your statement, Office 2013 is published globally. Ergo, all shortcuts and applications should be available to all users.
Is this true?

Is there a setting that needs to be set to allow the annotation features? I set password protection to open and then password for editing and set it to Any except page extraction, but it still did not give the annotation option

RDS 2012 App-V 5 SP2, Applications are not pinned in the Metro Start Menu

Hey All,
I've been building a new App-V 5 Environment using server 2012 R2 for the App-V management\Publishing\Reporting servers.
I've installed app-v 5 SP2 on the RDS 2012 R2 servers and installed the App-V 5.1 SP1 Hotfix (KB2897087) for the 2012 R2 support.
I have run into the following issue; When triggering a app-v publishing sync the applications are only added in the classic start menu. The applications aren't pinned in the Metro Start menu like our App-V sp1 RDS 2012 clients.
I have checked the App-V client eventlogs (including the debug logs) and I haven't been able to find any errors that point out the cause of my issue.
Has anyone experienced the same issue or has anyone got any tips to get the app-v 5 sp2 client on RDS 2012 R2 to pin the sequences to the Metro Start Menu?

This is the default behaviour of Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 - there are no programmatic ways to pin shortcuts to the Start screen.

The Definitive Guide to Delivering Microsoft Office with App-V

Built app with Flash Builder 4.6 and compiled for iOS, now error when loading to appstore

I built a fairly simple app using Flash Builder 4.6 and have successfully deployed it to the Android Market (after testing on my own Android device). I have also taken that same app and compiled it for iOS and tested it on my own iPad.
I have then done the release build with the "Final Release for App Store Distribution" option in the release build wizard. I have all the correct provisioning certificates in place and compiled the application to a .ipa file.
At this point, using a MAC, I have run the Application Loader utility to upload my application to the itunesConnect portal to get it in the appstore. I've already gone through the steps of entering the metadata, price scheme, and screenshots in the itunes connect portal, and just need to upload it for review.
When I upload the .ipa file into the application loader, it gives me the following error:
"iPhone/iPod Touch: application executable contains unsupported architecture(s): arm"
Anyone have any idea what this means and how I can fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Solved it. Just added the following in the <InfoAdditions> tag for iPhone in my app descriptor XML file:

App-V 5 SP2 as RemoteApps and User Profile Disks with Error Error 0xc0000142

App-V packages are published as RemoteApps and User Profile Disks are used.
Similar to the problem posted
here .
Some packages are running without an error (e.g. Acrobat Reader) and some other (e.g. Notepad++) could not launch.
The result is "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the Program.
If UPD is disabled, packages running before gets now the error and the non-launching apps are running now.
The post by Steve TH "App-V 5.0: On these 0xc0000142 errors and where they are coming from" give
me an idea what´s may going on. But could not find anything related in the logs.
An answer was set as solution in this
post but it´s not clear for me, how to setup the Sequencer.
8.3 is enabled on all VMs.
How to setup the sequencer and the UPD configuration to run this scenario without the error?

There are many enhancements in Setup Manager compared to iSetup. To list a few:
1) ability to create a project which groups extracts, loads and reports and orchestrate these tasks as per your requirements.

I have lost my Profiles folder in Applications Library, and cannot open Safari now?

I attempted to uninstall and reinstall Firefox due to experiencing extreme slow/freezing problems. However I restarted my computer in the middle of Firefox reinstalling all my Profile details (as I thought again, it had frozen). Now I have no Profile folder in Applications Library, so Firefox won't even open.

Back saving to MIF should work, but it’s probably faster to just retrieve a backup of the FM8 files & books and restore them over your botched FM12 versions. Then take a copy of that backup and put it on the trial machine to play away without impacting anything else.

App-V 5 SP2 and Office 2013 Pro Plus

We have a terminal environment (RDS) of 20 servers and have implemented App-V 5 SP2 in it and deployed Office 2013 to it.
We don't publish Office 2013 globally because not all users are supposed to get Office 2013.
We have 2 different deployment configurations (XML's) that are configured to universal groups and the user's are members of that depending on which configuration they are supposed to have.
Now the problem, when we log a user onto the RDS and he is a member of one of the Office group he get's the Office packages and the Integrator runs and "Mail (Microsoft Office 2013)" cpl is created in Control panel and everything works fine.
When the user logs off and on again and goes to another server in our farm he gets the Office packages but no integrator runs and there is no "Mail (Microsoft Office 2013)" in control panel.
But if the users happens to log on to the same server as he landed in first place then he has access to "Mail (Microsoft Office 2013)" in control panel.
We are using network load balance and session broker for our farm.
The office 2013 was sequenced as the instructions said and no extra features or addons where implemented.

It is only supported if you publish the package globally and since you aren't publishing globally this is most likely the reason you have issues.

App-V 5 SP2 support for 2012R2?

Hi,
I just downloaded App-V 5 SP2, installed the new Client and Sequencer. Both running on servers installed with Server 2012R2, except for the App-V 5 Management en Publishing server. These are running on W2K12.
I just tried to sequence an application, and tried to publish it. But I'm getting these eventlogs on the App-V Management server:
"The client OS is unknown: WindowsServer_6.3_x64."
"The 'TargetOS' in package contains unsupported OS type. "
Is 2012R2 supported?

The propblem perhaps is that the App-V Management/Publishing servers perform an XML validation that does not (yet) include Win 8.1 / Win2012 R2. It is expected that the server bits will receive an update, too (not an SP, but maybe a Hotfix or so).
In between, when sequencing an application just make sure that you DO NOT select 8.1/2012R2 as a potential OS. Instead, choose the option to allow to run that package on any OS.
The bad news is that you can't modify this setting afterwards (well, at least this was true for the SP2 Beta Sequencer. This might have changed). So you might be required to re-sequence the application.
Frankly I'm not even sure if Gridmetric's AVE can adjust/change that setting

Other question, do you know if the App-V 5 (SP2) Client is supported on a 2012 RDS server? Everytime when I run a "User Refresh" there is a event logged in Microsoft-AppV-Server-Publishing/Admin
on the App-V Management server:
"The client OS is unknown: WindowsServer_6.3_x64."
When I run Sync-AppvPublishingServer on the 2012 RDS server I'm getting this error:

Application publishing issues after temp profile usage

We haven't figured out the solusion to this issue but we do know the cause and a workaround for it that works, kind of...
A brief description would be that after permission issues for some users roaming profile storage on the fileserver application publishing and several applications fail in a different way for different users. This is due to the creation of C:\Users\TEMP,
TEMP.DOMAIN etc folders rather than using C:\Users\Username folders. The issue seems to be that App-V 5 client remembers this temporary folder in a way that we havent figured out yet, all references to the temp folders for each users account UID in the
registry has been removed and the roaming profie was deleted locally and on the fileserver YET app-v remembers the path C:\Users\TEMP and tried to create shortcuts etc there without success --> the packag then failes completely and dissapears from the client/powershell
Get-AppvClientPackage view as if its not even published to the user.
The BIG question is how the "#¤/&¤ can you get the App-V client to forget about the C:\Users\TEMP foders and retun to the users correct folder? We have tried to remove all user accounts UID from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\AppV\MAV\Configuration\Packages
etc and also the users profiles so this data must be stored somewhere else. The issue is local to specific XenApp servers, if the temporary profile wasnt created on a server the issue will never appear there.
The workaround is that all users with the issue have full access to the paths C:\Users\TEMP and C:\Users\TEMP.DOMAIN folders, however when app-v generates shortcuts in that folders we'll need to manually move them to the correct path so that they are
available to the users, smooth!
The environment is based on 4x Windows 2008 R2 server with citrix XenApp 6.5. App-V 5 SP1 RDS client is installed and configured to use a single publishing server "Add-AppvPublishingServer -Name SERVERNAME -URL
http://FQDN:8080"

We noticed thet the user DOMAIN\user had a TEMP.DOMAIN profile path due to faulty permissions on the profile store and that this path thoug its fixed was stil configured in the AppV part registry according to below.
Since this key is global to the server and not bound to the user account it wasnt removed with the user profile, we tried removing the specific keys manually where the user account UID occured without any change to the problem. The removed keys werent
regenerated in the registry though.
The specific user account SID uses TEMP.DOMAIN paths (\Users\TEMP.DOMAIN\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AppV\Client\VFS) for two String Value names "TargetLongName" and "TargetShortNamefolders" in the following key (and others):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\AppV\MAV\Configuration\Packages\04ADC3E8-E368-4B95-98AF-F53A625070CD_C248B175-B174-41F5-A4D6-62835CF86519\UserConfig\S-1-5-21-XXXXXXXXXX
As mentioned the UID keys "S-1-5-21-XXXXXXXXXX" did not reappear UNTILL we manually created the folder C:\Users\TEMP.DOMAIN with full permissions for the affected user. Once this folder was created App-V recreated the registry keys "S-1-5-21-XXXXXXXXXX"
with the correct \Users\USERNAME\* values however the icons for the applications was distributed to the C:\TEMP.DOMAIN\Desktop folder and since the users desktop is accually in C:\Users\USERNAME\Desktop none of the icons was visible to the user.
Another user had similar issues but with the java plugin for internet explorer failing without error messages, once that user got access to C:\Users\TEMP.DOMAIN the user was again able to run java.

Utilities Applications grayed and crossed out, "No longer supported"?

Originally I wanted to Verify and Repair my Disk Permissions since I've been having difficulty with my disk drive [playing the Sims 3, it told me that there was an error in the Disk Authorization and that the disk was not found in the drive]. Following the instructions on the Sims 3 site to fix this problem, one solution would work then it would fail again so I continued down the line of fixes until it told me that "Its possible you might be experiencing some damage in your permissions or an issue with your start up disk please follow these steps below." Then proceeded to tell me how to verify and eventually repair which entailed going to the Utilities folder and opening the app "Disk Utility". But when I got to the Utilites folder I found that all of the application icons where grayed out and crossed out in white. When I attempted to open any app a window would tell me, "You can't open the application <app name> because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
Now I found a question/discussion nearly identical to this, only it was in the Leopard discussions, and I obviously have Lion. If it helps, I have a MacBook Pro, mid 2007, with many different applications installed, I recieved it as a hand-me-down two years ago and I'm not so familiar with all of the applications, so I couldn't begin to tell you what exactly is on here.

[jsr82] can a j2me app be a Bluetooth server and client role in parallel?

I want to make my j2me app register a special service channel and listen to it, meanwhile, I also want to start a client to connect to other handset which has the same services. In Bluetooth protocol side, this is obviously OK, but in J2me is this design possible? some people said that in jsr82, the Bluetooth device is exclusive for J2me app, app cannot be both server role and client role at the same time. Can anybody give me a definite answer?

No this design is not possible with JSR 82. Because when the device acts as a server it can't be used as a client as whenever you will run the client code the server mode will disappear.
But what maximum you can do is when you need the client to run close the server and switch into the client mode but I think you don't need this solution.

I have ClarisWorks 5 for Publish / Subscribe (main use: each chapter in my novel is a separate document with a word-count field as a single cell spreadsheet Subscriber in the header; each time I update a chapter's word count it updates a Published spreadsheet that totals all the words in all chapters without my having to re-count them. VERY VERY useful.) - but it only runs in Classic, i.e. I can never use it on an Intel Mac. I also have AppleWorks 6 though I rarely use it now we have TextEdit (I think I only use it now for spreadsheets).
The question is, does AW5 run natively in OS X, in which case if I can find AW5 I can get rid of CW5. Or does it only run in Classic (in which case I am stuffed and back to square one)?

Why when I opened pages app on my iPad we're the documents there and then disappeared? Now they are gone!

Can anyone tell me why when I opened the pages app all my documents were there and then disappeared. Now they are gone!!!! How can I get them back?

Try this:
1) On a web browser (on a computer, not on an iPad) go to iCloud.com
2) sign in with your Apple ID and password.
3) Once you are signed in, select the orange 'Pages' icon.
4) If there are welcome screens, continue until you get to Pages web version
5) Are your documents showing there?
If yes, delete Pages app from your iPad, and reinstall it. Your documents should reappear when you open it after installing. If no, then the only possibility would be if you have previously made a back up on your computer with iTunes.
