iv read all the possible ******** that people come up with and quite frankly am so ****** off with your service, and mostly where are your answers to provide us all with correct infomation as to why your products arent what you make them out to be.

The most frequent problem with Mini DisplayPort is that the cord is too hard to push in. You need to keep pushing until essentially ALL of the metal plug is inside the computer jack.
The most frequent problem with HDMI devices is that the HDMI device is "not paying attention" when the Mac Powers up.
The Mac makes a query to determine the device's Name and Capabilities. If the HDMI device is paying attention to a DVD-reader plugged into another port instead of the correct computer-input port, The Mac gets no response and the display stays dark.
You can check this in Apple System profiler report under Graphics & Displays. The Name and Capabilities of recognized displays will be seen there.

HDMI doesn't work, but MDP- DVI- HDMI works

I just got my new Mac Mini and tried to connect it to my TV (a Samsung LE22S8) over HDMI, but this doesn't work since the TV reports "unsupported resolution" (it's the TV's native resolution of 1680x1050, where I also checked all frequencies using an external program and they are as written in the manual of the TV).
However when I connect the TV over a Mini Display Port to DVI adapter, and then use a DVI to HDMI adapter (so that the TV is still using the HDMI input) it works fine.
So what's the difference between MDP->DVI->HDMI and HDMI->HDMI (all resolution and pixel frequency settings are identical)? What can I do to get the HDMI->HDMI solution working?

It also appears that there is no conversion when HDMI-video is extracted from DVI, only that the pins are shuffled.
If direct DVI works on that port, then HDMI-video with an adapter should work as well. As I mentioned above, VGA is present on DVI-I ports on a separate set of pins, and VGA working or VGA not working has no bearing on your problem.
If a Mini DisplayPort is involved, the most common issue is that the Mini DisplayPort connector is not inserted firmly enough. It has a lot of pins and you have to press hard to seat it.
Other possibilities are that the resolution you selected is beyond the capability of the display device, or that the adapter is bad.
Is this the stock display card, or one you added later, and what model?

Satego x200-21u - Remote and HDMI not work on Windows 7

I have a problem with win7 and the remote that was delivered with my notebook when i bought it
I installed all drivers from the toshiba homepage for win7. I also installed some of the winvista driver, like the webcam- and the touchpad drivers.
The only two things, not working are the remote and the HDMI-Sound output.
my remote doesnt work with win7. and if i connect my notebook to my flat-tv via HDMI-Cable i only see the picture but hear no sound.
I changed also the settings in the soundoptions in win7 from default to Digitalaudio (HDMI) but it doesnt work anyways..
can someone tell me which drivers i need to install these two or what i have to do, to make my remote and the HDMI output work?

This is really strange to say because this notebook is a little bit older and therefore there is no official Windows 7 support I think...
Do you have yellow exclamation marks in device manager at the moment?
For HDMI I think chipset, display and sound driver should be installed. Maybe you can get one on the Intel page directly.
Make also sure that the newest BIOS version is installed on your notebook.

IMac 2011 Thunderbolt - iWires MDP to HDMI

Hello all - I've had a good trawl through the communities and am unable to find a fix for my issue.
I've recently upgraded from a 2010 mac mini, with HDMI to a new iMac 2011 - which has the new thunderbolt port.
By my understanding, this will enable me to use the Thunderbolt Port - identical to the old Mini Display Port to output HDMI to my HDTV.
I've bought a MDP to HDMI adapter (http://store.apple.com/uk/product/H2774ZM/A/Mini-DisplayPort-to-HDMI-Cable-2m)
But my mac will not recognise my TV, no matter which way method I use.... ie turning tv off and then plugging in to the mac..
Do I have a dodgy lead / dodgy mac, or both!?
My intention is to swap the lead at the apple store - and see what happens... but in the meantime, I thought I'd pick your brains!

Fixed.... turned both the tv and the imac off and on a few times.. eventually worked and is fine now. I can also confirm that the sound does work perfectly!

Macbook and T220HD (22 display). 1680x1050 doesnt work anymore !

Hi! I have a macbook with a 22 inches external display (samsung t220hd). It was working fine for 9 months but i have a problem now... Last week i get my adapter (minidvi to vga) to other display to see a movie... but when i plugged it again at home... it doesnt worked fine.
The macbook doesnt detect the screen like "syncmaster", now it says "Screen" and i cant choose the optimal mode in resolution menu (1680x1050). I fully erased the hd and reinstalled OSX and nothing...
I have the minidvi to dvi too, but it doesnt work in the dvi port or the hdmi port.
Can someone help me?

Maybe. Could be the heads bouncing against the platters - could be the optical drive. Best to take your machine to your local Apple Store and have them diagnose the problem. They can tell you if your data is salvageable.

we want to watch a movie but the sound doesnt work i just bought a mini dvi to hdmi cable with aduio capibilty i have a mac book white made in 2010 and thats what year the instructions say is the earliest year it will work but its just not working i went into settings and sound and it doesnt show the hdmi what do i do?

The model 7,1 was the first one that had audio through the Mini DisplayPort. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier.
You also need a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter that is certified to carry audio as well as video.

MDP to HDMI video issues

I've installed windows 7 on a Macbook because i love the total war series. I'm trying to display the screen on my 50 plasma over MDP to HDMI connector and am unable to see any video. Windows doesn't even detect that I've plugged in the TV. When i use the mac OS, it works fine. Any suggestions?

One thing I've noticed with the Vizio TVs (due to their price) is blacks and bright colors need to be tweaked via the TV's setup menus. Otherwise the colors look very washed out, the whole picture will look dark and you'll get a significant loss of detail. The contrast ratio and shades of black are definitely a weak point of the budget brand.

MSI GF4 Ti-4200 doesnt work with WindowsXP

I can't get the MSI display tools to work - it crashes,
the vbios.dll doesnt load, it also crashes.
the tv in doesnt work ,it crashes
the tv out doesnt work ,it crashes.
all the supplied software also crashes "application has encountered an error and cannot continue. sorry for any inconvenience"
the intervideo software (windvr, wincoder, winproducer) and MSI PVI software all crashes as well.
what's the deal with this stuff? ?(

I'm sorry gfilitti if I don't have my system listed, but I thought my question was pretty simple...
Has ANYONE been able to make the InterVideo WinProducer 2 software, that comes with the retail version of the MSI G4Ti4200-VTD64 card, work successfully under the Windows XP Home or Pro operating system?
If the answer is YES, then I will begin investigating why my system can't.
If the answer is NO, then I only ask for other people's recommendations of what software WILL work in place of that. I NEED those functions to work. That's why I paid extra for the VIVO.
All we've heard so far in this thread are NO votes. I would like to see just how widespread this is. If I can find ONE person who claims it works fine on his/her computer under Windows XP, then my NEXT question would be if they had to do anything different to make it run, or was it just a straight install? Did they add the program patch available from the MSI website? See where I'm going with this?

BTW, I would think when investigating a program's FLAT refusal to run, that the MOST important things aren't listed in these signature files. It has to do with what ELSE is running at the same time. Which services are running and which are NOT? What memory resident programs are loaded at boot-up? Any service packs installed? How about any security patches from Microsoft? Which anti-virus software (if any)? Which DirectX version? Personal firewall? Etc., etc.
Granted, the hardware DOES have a factor, but I feel all of these are MORE important factors than the speed or brand of a persons hardware. I look at the signitures more as bragging rights than anything else.
Now, this is just my opinion and may not reflect the feelings of the more sane people around me.

If you have records that show that you've taken your MacBook Pro in for a year to fix the machine, I would escalate the problem to Apple Customer Relations - unfortunately I don't have a number for Spain.
It would only seem logical to me that if you've been trying to have the machine repaired during the time that the 'recall' was in effect that you should be eligible for a new logic board. But only customer relations will be able to make that call.
Good luck - take the issue as high up the food chain as you can and see what happens.

On Safari, ipad connects to the internet. But when in applications such as Keynote, I try to e-mail presentattion it doesnt work.

I am a teacher and have my own iPad with a data plan. We also have a router in teh classroom for wifi, and it has a very strong signal. On Safari, the ipads can connect to the internet. But when in applications such as Keynote and HTML Egg, I try to e-mail presentat. or post website to web, it doesnt work. I tried re-setting the proxies and the router, no luck. Please Help! I am a teacher and want my students to be able to post their websites on to the web, and e-mail themselves and their parents their Keynote Presentations.

Try this. Turn your iPad Off. Then disconnect the power going to the router for 30 seconds or longer. Then replug the power to the router (allow it to initialize) and turn On the iPad. Hopefully everything will connect. If not, see below.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
