MDT image W7x64 onto GOP only system?
Windows7 setup does not support GOP, it requires VGA, but I'm wondering if anyone's tried laying down a prepped W7x64 image down on a GOP only (no VGA emulation available in bios/uefi setup) system?
I just had my 1st 100% UEFI system come through our lab, no CMS no VGA emulation available, but I only have a x86 W7 image in my current production MDT environment, so I was wondering if a x64 image could be dropped onto it or not.
I'd have to create a whole new MDT lab environment just to test this myself as I don't have exclusive rights to modify the production MDT workbench without impacting others, so it'd be several days worth of work for potentially no benefit....so that's why
i'm hoping someone has already tried this and can comment.
On the 1 hand I'm certain the image itself would lay down, but after the first boot when it goes into Mini-Setup I'm thinking the install engine will just hang when the video driver is initialized the way a DVD or USB UEFI install does.
Can anyone confirm / deny this?
GOP at boot time to my best understanding is only supported by W8, MacOSX & some of the newer rev Linux distro's.
So yeah I'm basically wondering if laying down a pre-prepared image would bypass the issue whereby the W7 installation engine only supports VGA not GOP video display or if mini-setup would still cause it to hang indefinitely.

P.S. This post isn't about GPT vs MBR or CMS vs UEFI I understand those concepts and have successfully installed W7x64 from UEFI modified USB boot media on a UEFI system with GPT HDD, it's *only* about if the VGA vs GOP limitation of W7 can be overcome via
MDT image, since it fails via traditional full setup.

Your questions are all over the map here.
I have personally tested MDT with many uEFI machines, and even native uEFI.
Specifically, what machine are we talking about here? Is the machine Windows Logoed/Certified? If the machine has a Windows Logo, then YES, WinPE works just fine.
I *have* encountered scenarios where some native uEFI machines didn't *display* video due to some outdated firmware issues (even though the machine *thought* the video was working properly). I could verify the machine was working because I ran the command
(very carefully): "<F8>wpeutil shutdown" which shutdown MDT.
I don't see why Windows wouldn't support GOP, You may need to load the video driver into MDT, just like any device that does not have built in driver support (like network drivers).

Hi,
I would try a Safe Boot first. (This will take longer than a normal Boot and you will need to Restart afterwards).
If it were an older OS I would also suggest going to System Preferences > Displays and making sure the display is set to Millions. (My MacBook Pro does not have this option in Snow Leopard so I did presume Snow Leopard does not have it).
With some laptops there have been some issues with the cable up the back of the screen pulling loose with regular and frequent use of the lid, but this will not apply to you based on your specs. (it does take time to appear and is also somewhat rare). However it seems enough contact with the camera can make it appear in System Profiler and power it on but not give a pic.
If a Safe Boot does not work I would also try a PRAM reset.
Shut down the computer.
Restart it holding down Apple/CMD (or ⌘)+ALT( ⌥)+P+R Keys until you have heard three Start Up Bongs.
This is actually "less" destructive in that it clears less memory items than Safe Boot but they are different enough to warrant trying.
Do you have an older version of iGlasses installed ?
The one for Leopard does not work for Snow Leopard.
Do you have Web Browser open ?
This may point to Google Video Chat Plug-in and Flash Conflict. It would be rare to allow another app to access the camera even if not displayiong a Pic.
(Chrome Installs the Plug-in as does the standalone download).
Knowing what "any application" exactly you are trying might help us pin it down.
Any additional downloaded apps that can use the camera ?
Do you happen to have something balck in front of the camera ?

Copy VMWare image of Java only system
Hello,
We are running an SAP Java only System (NW 7.0) with a MSSQL 2000 DB on Windows running VMWare. We are trying to create a clone of that server to create another JAVA only SAP system.
We have changed the Computer Name in MSSQL and that is up and running. We have also changed the instance profile paramters to point to the new Server name.
Couple questions:
1) Is this possible to do with a JAVA only system?
2) The JControl process keeps failing. I've changed the instance.properties file to point to the new server host and when I start the system it keeps pointing back at the old one. Is this file defined somewhere else?
Has anyone done this before or tried it? If you have, can you provide any tips or tricks on how to accomplish this.

Crystal Report failed scheduling onto the File System
Hi,
We have set up a Crystal report file for scheduling via file system. This report has been running fine with regards to generation all through last few months, but has started failing to generate the report at the scheduled time onto the file system from the last few days. When I checked the logs of the Instance Manager, it shows an error like this 'Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 1017 ]'.
Please note, I was able to run the report from InfoView without any issue, so I don't believe there is any issue with stored procedure/report/database connection but something else.
Can someone please provide some insights on this.

Is this issue specific to FileSystem location? What about default enterprise location?
When you view the reprt in InfoView, click on Refresh button to get current data. If the repot was published with Saved Data option, then you would see data in the report but it would be old one.
Above step would confirm that there is no issues with database user credentials specified with the report.
Also, open the report in Crystal Reports 2011, refresh it and publish without saved data in BI 4 repository and schedule it.

But in JAVA only system how data is stored ..? and how to access those table ..?

Key Data (if possible would like to see key data from the run, for example po number, material number, part number, idoc number would all be considered key data)

Error Message (only required if the run failed)
How & where to write code to develop this report ...?

Firefox page images do not display only text and links
New desktop (not this one) with windows 8.1 Pro, Firefox 29, Norton Internet security. When I go to many of the Firefox pages images do not display, only text and links. This is true for the "get add-ons" page. I can search for add-ons, but when I try to install one, the installation fails. Is there a security setting in windows or NIS that is blocking Firefox images and installations? The Firefox installation went smoothly without error. Other sites do not have this problem.
Wow! I never would have thought of that! My time settings were incorrect when I set up the PC, and I thought I set them. I did have the day, date, and time set correctly. But I did not have AM/PM set right. So, I was off by 12 hours. I corrected it and, voila, all works well.

ECC - SXI_MONITOR - How to resend Only System Error Not Application Error Automatically ?

is there any way to re-send or re-process only system error which occured due to QRFC_SHORT_DUMP.
We should not re-send Application Errror.
I have tried the program RSXMB_RESTART_MESSAGES , it restarts all System Error and Application Error.
Any way to restarts only System Error ?

Currently the standard restart job RSXMB_RESTART_MESSAGES is restarting below statuses.
You can copy the report to Z program and change the above code to below then the report will only restart system errors only.

Read-only system - how to get back to normal ?
Two days ago, while I was trying to transfer data to an external hard-disk, my 12" iBook G4 suddenly turned down with no particular reason, and I cannot start it properly any longer.
As I have absolutely no technical knowledge, I have no clue what to do, and I hope I can get some valuable advice on this Forum.
I need this iBook - and most of all I do urgently need some data it contains -
but I am at the moment in Cambodia - where I could not find any Apple dealer up to now, except for iPod (probably not always original ones), which doesn't exactly make things easier...
This is what happens when I try to start the iBook:
at the begining, everything seems quite normal...Apple logo shows up, then this rotating thing for a short time...after that the screen turns black, leaving only on the left upper corner in white script the mention :/ root # or :/ root#.
It looks very much like on some computer screens I saw about 20 years ago, maybe with a slightly better quality.
Then there is not very much else to do, except that you can get the mention "Display all 872 possibilities? (y or no)" by pushing the Tab key for about 3 or 4 seconds.
If you agree, you get a list of many things (could be 872), which appear to be mostly function or system checks...all in the same white script on the black screen...some of these checks or things work, some don't...the iBook even gives the reason why some are not working: precisely because they cannot be shown in what is called "read-only system"...now, my problem is that I don't want this read-only system, as it is of absolutely no use to me, and I cannot read any information fom my HD that I need very urgently (and certainly before I go to a country where they have Apple dealers).
I have no idea if this is a common problem, I don't even know how serious it is.
The only thing I know for sure is that the iBook obviously is still living at the moment, but it is not working the way I need it to work.
I tried to restart it numerous times, including by using the Install disk, but nothing helps...maybe the problem there is that the iBook is not understanding I want it to use the Install CD as the starting disk, but I don't know how I can make me understood as long as the screen only shows this white script...
Anyway, I have no clue what to do, and I am hoping I can get some good advice on how to act before going to some PC dealer (it is already annoying enough that I have to use a PC in order to try to find out how to make my Apple product work properly).

You don't say what operating system you are running, is it 10.3.x or 10.4.x?
If it is 10.3, then put the #1 CD in the computer, restart it and hold down the C key while it boots up.
When the installer window comes up, click on apple menu and select disk utility.
When that window opens, select your hard drive (rather than the CD) and click on repair hard drive.
When it is finished, quit disk utility and restart the computer. As it is restarting, you can hold down the F12 key to eject the CD. You should be back to normal. If it was a firewire drive you were copying data to, you might have lost the data if you didn't get to eject the disk before you lost access to it.
+You can and should repair the external drive you were copying data to also, although you can do that from the disk utility (in the Utility folder inside the Application folder) while booted from your laptop, in addition to doing it while booted from the #1 installer CD.+
You should continue making the backup of your data as soon as you get access to it, as you could be headed for a very unhappy situation if your hard drive crashes before you back it up. If you haven't lost a hard drive yet, you will. Everyone will at some time in their computing lifetime. Don't let it ruin your life, back it up now! -
Running SLD on Java-only system
Can I use a Java-only system for my SLD server when I have ABAP-only servers in my environment. The ABAP-only servers would be sending their information to this Java-only SLD
To setup a gateway service on a Java-only machine do the following:
1.
Edit the profile START_SCS00_##### adding the following two lines
_GW = /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run/gwrd $(FT_EXE)
Start_Program_05 = local $(_GW) pf=/sapmnt/profile/<SID>_JC00_#####
2. Edit the file DEFAULT.PFL adding this line
a. rdisp/sna_gw_service = sapgw00
1. Edit the file /usr/sap/<SID>/exe/scs.lst adding two lines
i. gwmon
ii. gwrd
3. Restart JAVA on the server
4. You can check the status of the gateway using the command:
a. gwmon pf=/sapmnt/profile/<SID>_JC00_##### -
Change timezone in Java-only system
Does anyone know how to change the timezone on a Java-only system?
I have already added the setting "-Duser.timezone=America/Dallas" on the configtool, but when I look at the logs in NWA, it still looks like it is reporting on GMT timezone.

Are you now saying that the first problem is no longer there? All the pages I visited appeared to be loading fine. As far as getting your site to work the IE see How to get your iWeb Site to load in Internet Explorer. IE is the acknowledged worst browser out there. This site may help you. -
How can I possible lose my entire photo library/ referenced master image file if I have downloaded all my images directly onto Aperture?
CeliaJane, you need to distinguish between the Aperture Library and the Aperture Application.
Aperture stores your images in a database, and it is this database that we have to find and probably to repair, not the application (hopefully). And since you do not see any images, I suspect that Aperture created a new, empty Aperture Library,and you are now viewing this empty library. Usully the library sits in your Pictures fiolder.
Look into your Pictures folder, if you see a file with a colorful icon with three pictures, called something.aplibrary, as shown above. And also enter ".applibrary" into the "Spotlight" searchfield in the upper right corner of your screen. If you have more than one Library, you should be able to find them this way.
The largest file you find will probably be the correct library.
When you have found the correct file called aperturexxxx.aplibrary, try to open it in "First Aid" mode.
Select the Library and press down "command" and "option" key at the same time, while you double click the library.
Now the First Aid dialogue should appear:
Select: Repair Permissions" and see if you can open the Library again. If it did not help, try the other two options in turn.

Error when registering CCMS agent SAPCCMSR on ECC 6.0 ABAP only system
I need to start the agent sapccmsr on SAP ECC 6.0 system to monitor ABAP proxies for separate MDM system.
I already have the sapccm4x agent running.
When I try to register using:
CALL PGM(<kernel_lib>/sapccmSr) PARM('-r' '-f' '/usr/sap/<sid>/<inst>/log/sapccmsr/csmconf' 'pf=/usr/sap/<sid>/SYS/profile/<inst_host>')
I get the error message:
ERROR: cannot open Config
File /usr/sap/D12/DVEBMGS12/log/sapccmsr/csmconf fo
r registration
I cannot see any issue with authorizations. I have modified the csmconf file with the appropriate passwords. The sapccmsr.install.logs are empty.
Has anyone run into this issue? Can I start the agent on an ABAP only system? If so has anyone done this successfully & have the cmd to do so?
There is probably a very simple solution to this but I just have not been able to find it!
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Anyways first try this out Check through SE11 if the tables exist in the new client. For example check for A001. If it shows up there try to activate the table and see if you get any errors. Let us know the results.

I just installed Arch on my laptop, but it seems that it doesn't install the Ethernet drivers and they don't appear to be on the live CD. How might I install the drivers?

your post title and the message within seem to contradict themselves.
More information from you might be helpful as in what packages did you install during the installation process? Did you have network connection during the install? Are there any errors that you get when booting.
