MDT2012 - Deployment failed, the system cannot find the file specified

Hi everybody.
First, excuse me for my english, i think it's not the best thing I'm able to do, but now, I REALLY need help.
I encounter issues with my MDT 2012 Update 1 platform.
I have 5 systems to capture. All systems have 3 partitions (System, softwares, data). Capture is working fine for all parts.
In my Task Sequence, to deploy these images (C, D and E parts), I use a script after the "Install Operating System" which runs imagex to deploy the WIM images for D: and E:.
The script is the following :
"%DeployRoot%\Tools\x64\imagex" /apply "%DeployRoot%\Operating Systems\D_Drive\D_Drive.wim" 1 %DDrive%"
But, for some images, the task fails on the "D" drive deployement. The wizard shows the following error :
Litetouch deployment dailed, return code = -214767259 0x80004005
Failed to run the action: InstallD (ie : the script above)
The system cannot find the file specified. (Error: 00000002; Source: Windows)
The error is on my task which uses imagex to deploy my D and E WIM.
So I looked to see if the file's path was the good one.
And it is !!!
Wizard says that the file couldn't be find, but the file is existing, and in the good path.
For your information, there is no problem when I don't use multicast. Everything is working fine on unicast, not on multicast.
I even encounter this issue if I use my MDT server and my computers on the same switch.
Any help would be gratefull, my client gives me the week to resolve the issue.
Thanks

  • Deployment fails with "The system cannot find the path specified"  message

    So, here's my sob story.
I'm running Sun App Server 7 on Windows 2000. Occasionally, when I used asadmin.bat to deploy an ear I get an error message saying "The system cannot find the path specified" . Stopping and restarting the server and running the asadmin.bat command again deploys the ear without any problems.
So, my question is, what causes this to happen? How can I keep it from happening?
If it helps, here's a sample command line sequence and the error message:
prompt% asadmin.bat deploy user xxx password yyy --instance server1 my.ear
    Cannot deploy the component
C:\WINNT\Temp\s1astempdomain1admin-server1589047611\server1\my.ear (The system cannot find the path specified)
Thanks in advance for any help,

You'll probably find useful error messages in the server log. If not, crank up the log level to FINE or above and check again.

  • The NLS operation failed because the registry key Control Panel\International\User Profile cannot be opened. Error code is 2. Error message: The system cannot find the file specified.

    H,
Since upgrading Windows server 2008 R2 to Server 2012 Standard edition, we get this repetitious critical error in the event log:
    Event 1001
    Op Code NLS initialization
The NLS operation failed because the registry key Control Panel\International\User Profile cannot be opened. Error code is 2. Error message: The system cannot find the file specified.
We originally found that the regional date settings after changing them in regional settings (DD/MM/YYYY) and they did not inherit properly from the upgrade but they are ok now.
I've looked at HKCU\.Default\Control Panel\International and nothing looks obviously wrong. Country codes, time & date formats are correct.
How do we ascertain the  cause of this error and the specific registry key that might be problematic?

    Hi,
This could be caused by firewall rules or security softwares.
    http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/242579-44-hkcu-control-panel-international-opened
And in addition, the fix is worth a try.
Nothing happens when you double-click "Region" in Control Panel

  • The operation failed because of a protection agent failure. (ID 998 Details: The system cannot find the path specified (0x80070003))

    Hello,
We are getting the following error when trying to backup our fileserver (DPM 2012 R2) to tape.
"The operation failed because of a protection agent failure. (ID 998 Details: The system cannot find the path specified (0x80070003))"
    What is interesting:
    - The "Short-Term Protection" to disk runs successfully without error
    - The "Long-Term Protection" to tape fails after writing ~2TB of data to a TL2000 tape loader. (Always appears to fail towards end of job with the above error)
    - In the past (until roughly a month ago) the tape portion of this job was completing successfully.
The DPM logs fail to give much information around the time of error regarding any failures. Likewise windows event logs give no hint of a problem when the job fails.
Looking for any ideas that may help resolve this.
    Cheers!

In administering this policy I am a little confused.
We have a policy that distributes proxy settings in the internet explorer maintenance settings section - however when opening this policy up in GPO editor the internet explorer maintenance section is not present.
I plan to apply the settings via User/preferences/control panel settings/ internet settings (or registry settings from article) however I am unable to edit the settings for internet explorer maintenance and these will persist. Ideas????

Apply trace on RAS and look for errors in the RAS logs at the same timestamp.
These errors come for various errors and tracing RAS would give us a better idea.
It might hapen that you observe these errors for reports which takes more than the RAS timeout to export the reports.
Post getting the RAS logs you can try below steps if we see timeout errors in RAS logs.
Copy clientSDKOptions.xml file from <BO install path>\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\java\lib to the machine where your app is running Open clientSDKOptions.xml and change CORBARequestTimeOut from 600000 to a value large enough to allow the report to render, for instance 1200000. Default value is 600000 (10 minutes)
Specify the location of the clientSDKOptions.xml file at run-time. In your JSP or Java files, use the Java method setProperty from the System class. Set the system property indicated by the ras.config key to the specified directory as: system.setProperty("ras.config","c:\temp"). This function call specifies that the clientSDKOptions.xml file in c:\temp is to be used for locating RAS servers.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Please try to do as follows:
    1. Check your farm solution whether reference the Microsoft.SharePoint.dll. Or try to add the Microsoft.SharePoint.dll into the bin folder.
    2. Execute the iisreset command.
    3. Create a new farm solution and check whether the issue still occurs or not.

  • Load report Failed, COMExpection: System cannot find the path specified

    Interesting problem:
I have an application that runs on a web server (currently running it as simple test application to make solving this easier). We use a BO XI report to load data from the DB via a stored proc, then run an ExportToStream to get CSV data to return to the caller.
It all works well as long as I run the application under the NT Account logged into the Box (W2k3, R2). But when using a different account (it's a domain admin account), it fails with the following error:
System.Exception: Load report Failed. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80004005): The system cannot find the path specified.
    at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClienDoc.ReportClientDocumentClass.Open(Object& DocumentPath, Int32 Options)
    at CyrstalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.Load(String filename, OpenReportMethod openMethod).
The report is located on a file drive the openMethod is OpenReportByTempCopy. The Temp directory for the user (landes) exists on the box, all things seem to be in place.
Anybody know that path is specified and how to overcome this?
    Thanks

Will it be possible to check this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACINE\SOFTWARE\Suite 11or11.5\Report Application Server\InprocServer\LocalConnectionMgr and verify if the ConnectionDirectoryPath is set to something like C:\ ?
If not, set to C:\ and see how it goes after running your app.
    Cheers

  • DPM Backups Fail on File Server, (ID 2033 Details: The System Cannot Find the File Spedcified (0x80070002)

I've found a few treads and posts related to this error, but none of the answers seem to work. I have DPM 2010 U7 server backing up my file server (Server 2008 R2). The backup of the D: Drive(which hosts all shares) is failing with the following error:
Affected area: D:\Occurred since: 4/23/2014 11:15:26 AMDescription: The replica of Volume D:\ on XXXXX.XXX.XX is inconsistent with the protected data source. All protection activities for data source will fail until the replica is synchronized with consistency check. You can recover data from existing recovery points, but new recovery points cannot be created until the replica is consistent. For SharePoint farm, recovery points will continue getting created with the databases that are consistent. To backup inconsistent databases, run a consistency check on the farm. (ID 3106) DPM encountered an error while performing an operation for \\?\Volume{bb191e08-5d62-4a60-85f1-cdbd7598976b}\XXXX\XXXXX\XXXX\XXXXX\XXXXX\XXXXX\XXXXX\XXXXX\XXXXX on XXXXXX.XXXX.XXX (ID 2033 Details: The system cannot find the file specified (0x80070002))
I've ran SFC /SCANNOW on both servers, rebooted. Ran chckdsk /f on the D: on the file server, rebooted again. Still having the same issue. The BMR and System State backups run just fine, along with the backup of the C:
I am getting the following error on the file server for volsnap.
The shadow copies of volume D: were deleted because the shadow copy storage could not grow in time.  Consider reducing the IO load on the system or choose a shadow copy storage volume that is not being shadow copied.
Which caused me to try moving the shadow copy storage to the C:, but then it just fails with the following error. Which makes since as the C drive is 136GB, while the D drive is 27TB.
The shadow copies of volume D: were aborted because the shadow copy storage failed to grow.
Lastly I deleted the entire replica and recreated the protection, with no luck.  I tried to just slowly create the replica by adding one small parts at a time, currently its failing while trying to backup ~300GB.
I've checked the VSS Writiers on the file server, everything looks correct. Here is the print out.

    Hi,
It is strange that the issue still exists after recreating backup.
Please try again to clear all replica, and specifically, move the folder involved in this error to another location such as Drive C and see if issue still exists.
Meanwhile please test if Windows Server Backup works or not.

As the user in question, when I browse \\san.f.q.d.n\share$\username, the BACKUP directory exists, but there are no sub directories.
I manually created the sub directories, USERNAME\USMT - so the full path now exists: \\san.f.q.d.n\share$\username\BACKUP\USERNAME\USMT
I re-ran USMT but the process returned the same error.
If I specify other shares not on san.f.q.d.n but on san1.f.q.d.n or server.f.q.d.n or even workstation.f.q.d.n, it works fine.
Can someone provide guidance on how to troubleshoot this further?

In Windows, setting the Environmental Variable sometimes DOES NOT WORK.
The -Djava.io.tmpdir=C:\temp setting must be made in the server properties of the oc4j in order for it to work.

  • Known Issue: MIDL fails to compile IDL files in UAP projects. Gives following error: midlrt : error MIDL4034: Failed to load a dependency file. Windows.winmd (HRESULT:0x80070002 - The system cannot find the file specified. )

Visual Studio gives the following error:
midlrt : error MIDL4034: Failed to load a dependency file. Windows.winmd (HRESULT:0x80070002 - The system cannot find the file specified. )
This is because Visual Studio is looking for a WinMD file that contains the base types.  Unfortunately the metadata path passed by default to MIDL through Visual Studio does not resolve to the correct file.

    Work around:
Update the "Additional Metadata Directories" for MIDL to include the Windows.Foundation.FoundationContract.WinMD
To update the “Additional Metadata Directories” in Visual Studio, do the following:
    1)  Right click on your C++ Project file.
    2)  Choose properties.
    3)  Under Configuration Properties, click MIDL
    4)  Under MIDL choose “Command Line”
    5)  In the Additional Options text box enter:
    /Metadata_dir "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\References\Windows.Foundation.FoundationContract\1.0.0.0”
    or on X86 machines
    /Metadata_dir "C:\Program Files\Windows Kits\10\References\Windows.Foundation.FoundationContract\1.0.0.0”

    Hi,
Before going further, what was name specified in the IPAM provisioning wizard while selecting Group Policy based provisioning method? The GPO prefix name specified in the
PowerShell command must be same as the one specified in the IPAM provisioning wizard while selecting Group Policy based provisioning method.
Regarding Invoke-IpamGpoProvisioning, the following article can be referred to as reference.
