Mdworker[41403]: Unable to talk to lsboxd

My OS X 10.8.3 is very slow to respond to request send to the internet via Safari. The repons time for a you tube selction is around a minute.
Opera don't even respond to any request.
I am using a satellite connexion via Xplornet in Canada and a wi-fi connect to the DSL.
So the Wi-fi point at the the DSL for the DNS, and My computer look either at the Wi-fi or Open Dns
Looking at the console message I always have these messages
2013-06-04 09:16:45,997 mdworker[41659]: Unable to talk to lsboxd

Is that relate to my problem ?

I just posted this question: slow time machine, console messages: mdworker unable to talk to lsboxd, and mdworker 32: etc......   Then I saw this thread.  could you comment further on this being a known apple problem and they have to fix it.  makes sense apple needs to fix this but are you saying there is no way for me to fix this? Not sure if my second console message is related?  thanks

  • Slow time machine, console messages: mdworker: unable to talk to lsboxd, and mdworker 32:kCGErrorFailure:set a breakpoint@CGErrorBreakpoint()

    iMac: model indentifier: iMac11,3
    processor: 3.2GHz intel core i3
    Software: OSX lion 10.7.5
Current problem: Time machine running extremely slowly as is computer. When time machine is "preparing to update" if I attempt to open any drive, that function freezes the computer.
I followed web advice to check for console message:  mdworker: unable to talk to lsboxd.  Found that to be present.  As recommended, I turned off computer, restarted in safe mode, logged in and restarted computer.  checked console, I see this same message and another message that may be problematic: mdworker: 32: kCGErrorFailure: set a breakpoint@CGErrorBreakpoint() to catch srrors as they are logged.
Both these messages being recorded every few minutes in the console log.
Any support would be greatly appreciated.
    thank you,

    Hello Mr Davis,
Thanks for your willingness to help I really appreciate your assistance.
I decided to watch what was happening a bit more to see if I could discern a pattern to the problem so that I could pose a more refined question.
This am, after the computer was left on all night, I noticed time machine (TM) was running.  I opened the console window, and noted after entering "starting" in the search field corresponding to "all messages"  that hourly, there is a notation:
date, time, then "starting standard backu" followed by date, time and starting post backup thinning".
However, then there is the entry below at 12:25:46am referring to "starting standard backup" and there is no subsequent entry in the log referring to thinning having occured.  I wonder if this corresponds to TM running now and I am guessing, ever since 12:25:46 am?
Once again, it seems that the problem is that when TM is running in this fashion, the computer slows down tremendously and operating particular programs such as photo processing lightroom that require more power, become very slow in particular.
I copied and pasted a section of the log as it seems to repeat the same sequence of information over and over all night long.  I did not copy and paste the entire log since 12:25:46 am, as I wanted to not paste an excessive amount of lines here, but can do that if you like.
I hope I followed your directions correctly. thanks again, Jeff

  • Unable to talk through Bluetooth

I have iPhone 4. I have successfully paired / connected to the Bluetooth. When I get a call, call comes to my Bluetooth. I am able to accept call from the Bluetooth. However I am unable to talk through the Bluetooth. After connecting the call, the source panel (to choose, the call through handset / bluetooth) doesn't appear. Can someone help? Thanks

I have tried numerous things to try and corret this without success.  Should I just assume that it is impossible to get this corrected? or to find anyone that knows how to correct this?

  • I have a 5s iphone and I am unable to talk and text to my friends that don't have an iphone. I used to be able to before the latest update. How do I fix this?

I have a 5s iphone and I am unable to talk and text to my friends that don't have an iphone. I used to be able to before the latest update. How do I fix this?

I figured out how to fix the microphone with texting!!  I powered off my iphone. I don't know what caused the microphone to stop working, but it works now!  Thanks for trying to help.

  • OSX apps unable to talk to internet while Skype & Chrome can

Downright bizarre: OSX apps (Safari, Mail, Maps, Contacts) and some non-OSX apps, too, are unable to talk to the internet, while Skype and Chrome work fine.
Other computers (still on Mavericks) and iOS (using 8.1) operate fine. Mine is misbehaving under WiFi or Ethernet connections. Deleted and re-added the WiFi entries. Deleted & re-added the WiFi connection type.  Deleted and added "network locations".  Got renewed DHCP addrresses. Turned Firewall on and off.

Update: still same condition, even after doing multiple fixes with Apple on the phone (Disk Permissions, etc.), AND a full reinstall of Yosemite via Internet Recovery (Restart > CMD-R).
If perhaps it  will help someone else, the attempts to fix per the Apple rep on the phone included:
    - As I use Time Machine as my WiFi, added two DNS entries 8.8.8.1  and 8.8.8.4.
Although it doesn't matter, I am on a hotel WiFi right now (using Chrome) and still the same problem.

  • Unable to send or receive texts, talk to text not working, unable to talk to Siri. Two days now. Is it the phone? Is it the network? Do I really have to go dig out my old Blackberry to send a text after buying a $400 phone?

For the past couple days I have been unable to send or receive texts, can't use voice to text, can't talk to Siri.
Three reasons I have the phone.
$400 for a new paperweight. Just what I needed for Xmas!

We certainly don't want to lose you as a customer megarga! Let's partner together and get your wireless concerns addressed. When you received the iPhone, did you set it up as new or restored from a previously owned iPhone/Apple ID? What model iPhone do you have? If you have restored from a previous iPhone then how much available device memory do you have? As you share the details then we can customize a solution for you.

  • Another AP541N unable to talk properly with DHCP

I'm seeing a lot of this, wish I would have looked here closely before buying these.
We have 2 AP 541N in a cluster for our wireless network. Everything had been working fine for the first 5 months, until last week.
Now, when connecting via the wireless, they no longer get a proper IP address/ gateway information. Everything else is fine but those 2 (they see a proper subnet and DNS servers)
Example, if we would normally get a 192.160.200.x ip with a gateway of 192.160.200.1 gateway, they now get a 192.160.0.x IP with a 192.160.0.1 gateway.
I can manually set the TCP/IP override for the wireless then it works, but that means going to every laptop and making sure they are running 3rd party wireless software and setting it up, not the best thing to do.
Resetting the AP's get it to work for less than a day, so resetting them twice a day or more isn't an option.
I've updated the firmware to the newest, even did a factory reset and set them up from scratch again. Stil hasn't resolved this issue.
Is there somewhere else to look?
Will Cisco ever find a fix for these, because the executives here are not happy and neither am I. How can they let an issue like this persist for years (reading through the forum) with no real fix?

    Hi Joseph,
We have the same issue. Did you find a workaround?
    Thank you.

  • Sometimes unable to talk to device with GPIB-ENET

I am using a NI GPIB-ENET device with my own application on a VMS Alpha computer. It is issuing commands to the device correctly but if I restart quickly the application it sometimes does not work.It seems that if I wait long enough the it works ok. Are the sockets on the GPIB-ENET configured to linger ?

    Hi zemaitis,
The GPIB-ENET device is not "configured" to linger, but it does have more lag time than, say, a PCI GPIB card. The reason is that you have an increased amount of lag time due to the time it takes to transmit data over the ethernet cable. Here is a link to a Knowledge Base article that does not address this issue directly, but does point out that the ENET device has a larger lag time than other GPIB devices:
Knowledge Base 38M9C9FJ: Execution Difference Between GPIB-ENET and PCI-GPIB
Because of this extra communication time, you may not be able to restart your application extremely quickly. I hope this information is useful to you. Have a g
    reat day.

  • App rejected because Review Team unable to talk to my server.

My app is rejected because Review Team cannot log into my app using given test account and password.
They sent me the screenshot which shows the error - "Server communicatin error" - a custom error I defined when a connection with my server is failed.
However, I cannot replicate this issue on my end - testing it both on emulator and actual device under the same testing environment as theirs.
Check the server, there is no problem at all.
It appears their testing environment has a problem with network?
I replied telling them that I cannot reproduce this issue. They told me to seek help from Technical Support Team with crash log - but no log can be produced as it is working fine on my side.
This is the entire story. I am now really frustrated and having no idea what to do next.
    Can anyone help me out?
Any idea will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

And we're off! I have just published the first User Tip - App Store 101: Planning
To the original poster: there is some content for your about business owners vs developers and internet sites. I will expand on the technical details in subsequent tips.
To Michael and other developers: Anyone level 5 or above should be able to edit any User Tip. So feel free to hack up these tips. I think it is going to take a few of them. I should have done this a long time ago. Just be aware that the User Tip editing system is a bit crude. Once you edit someone else's tip, it transfers ownership to you. If there are multiple people editing a tip, it may get passed back and forth. I don't think people have really exploited the collaborative authorship avenue on User Tips very much. These tips are going to need that. There are some areas where I have very little knowledge, like book suggestions, online courses and tutorials, teams, business accounts, most iOS stuff, and other areas where I am so clueless I don't even know I am clueless.

  • Error: mdworker lsboxd deny mach-lookup

Getting the following, every 5 min, in Console.
9/25/12 10:35:21.415 AM mdworker[503]: Unable to talk to lsboxd

I'm seeing the same issue and I think it started after the 10.8.2 update on my 2012 MBP (not retina). I usually do a command-option-eject to put the machine to sleep when I leave work at night but the last three mornings when I get back to work the MBP will not wake up and I have to hold the power button to force it off. The console is full of the following messages, even during the time when it should have been sleeping:

Also, when re-start it indexes my external Time Machine hard drive for what seems like hours - never used to do that.

  • What's this sandboxd mdworker deny mach-lookup thing about?

My newer iMac keeps locking up over many months. It seems to be getting more frequent. All updated are made and I'm running OS10.8.2.
Each time I've looked at the console log one of the last entries has been related to mdworker and sandboxd.
This is the console immediatly surrounding the latest lockup and restart (having to use the powerbutton.)

You have a common problem with OS X 10.8.2, the "unable to talk to lsboxd" message. First of all, try to fix this. It's fixed just starting your Mac in safe mode, holding the Shift key while your computer is starting. Then, just after starting in safe mode, restart, and that message will disappear. Finally, see if your red message appears
