Me account won't verify

Please can someone help? I backed up my new 5S and my me account won't verify because its showing an old business email account. I have changed my email address and verified via my MacBook Air but, my phone is still showing and asking for the old email address and password which doesn't exist. I tried to reset my phone but, it tells me that 'find my iphone' must be deactivated.....can't switch it off without verifying my account......going round in circles.

I know you said all your devices are signed in, but I meant the actual website.

    It would also help to head to Settings -> General -> Date & Time and make sure it is set to Automatic.  You could also try using Google's DNS servers as doing so has resolved the issue for a number of users.  Head to Settings -> Wi-Fi and tap the > next to the network you are connected to.  Scroll down to the DNS fields and enter in 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

    Make sure that your Apple ID is your email address and you do not have any other or old IDs associated with you. Go to www.appleid.apple.com and confirm this info. Make sure that the email address you are trying to sign up with is your primary one.

    Ok this helped me solve my problem.....Thank you!  He had created an ID at one point which I was not aware of and his email was linked to that one.  I changed it all now and re-linked it to my ID and we're all good now.  Also found his Game Center nickname and sign on and was able to get that going as well.

    My gmail account won't verify either in settings or when I access my Apple ID. This was fine until IOS7 upgrade.

    Cancel the above reply as my mb pro settings are now constantly trying to verify my gmail address in Facetime & imessage. I cannot get apple to verify my gmail address in my account settings even though it is set as my recovery address. My Apple ID is a different address which is how I want it. Is this a google v apple problem?

    My iphone won't verify my account even though I did it thru the email confirmation as instructed. I can't verify my i cloud account on my phone, it just keeps spinning saying it is trying to verify the acct, so I can't backup my phone info. I can't restore my current phone info to my new iphone until I get the original iphone backed up. Everything online seems to be setup and working, but my phone still won;t recognize the account. Should I delete the accoutn on my phone an dstart again? Will I loose all my info in my Itunes account?  Please help!!! This is driving my crazy!!!
    I thought they called these smart phones? This is a lot of work with no end in sight so far. :-(

  • Trying to setup an email, but won't verify it says the server is not trusted how do i fix this?

    I wonder of anyone can help me, I am trying to setup an email account on my IPhone 4 but the accoutn won't verify. I get to the point where is says continue, cancel and details. Under the details section it gives me the error message that the server is not trusted. I am not sure what this means but I have been looking online and I think it is something to do with the primary certificate or something along those lines although I don't completely understand what that means, I hope someone can help as this is driving me crazy.

    That message usually means that the server's Certificate has expired. You can just tap Continue and it should connect. It's a warning that you may not be connecting to the server you think you are. But if you are sure it is the right one just click Continue.

  • On my iPad and iPhone I am getting errors that it can't get the Yahoo! mail to go through, it won't verify the data.

    I can't get mai on the iPad or iphone (and maybe the macbook pro) from Yahoo!. It won't verify the info and has me to authenticate using safari. I hav a PLUS account, have deleted and restarted a new account, but no verif. It used to work, but has quit. Especially worse since running iOS 5. Apple is scheduled for expresslane for 4 - 5 days out. I don't have a current phone number for Yahoo! or I'd be bugging them. It just won't verify even after changing passwords. GMail and iCloud work fin. Any ideas ?

    Is your iPad able to access the internet using Safari?  If not, I suggest you unplug your WiFi router for a few seconds.  Then reset the iPad's network at Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings.  You will need to reconnect the iPad to WiFi.
    If you are able to access the internet, then there may be a glitch in your iPad Mail setup you are overlooking.  It could be something like the letter O where a zero should be, a space where none is allowed or a backward slash (\) where a forward slash (/) is required.
    One other thing you can try, is to reset (reboot) your iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

  • My iCloud password is correctly typed in iPad and in the MacBookPro; so why when I try to type the same password in my iPhone4s it won't verify it?

    I am trying to change the settings in my iPhone 4s, specifically the iCloud account.  I type the correct password and ID but it won't verify it.  I test the password on the computer and on the iPad mini and it verifies and lets me see my account.  Why can this be? 
    I have similar problems with the iTunes using the same ID -- the password would work in some devices but not in others, especially after every software update, and after a week or so it just starts accepting the password (as long as I resist the urge to reset the password).

    You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac and are alternately opening one or the other.
    Pages 5.5.1 is in your Applications folder.
    Pages '08/'09 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
    Pages'08/'09 can not open Pages 5.5.1 files and Pages 5.5.1 alters Pages '09 files.
    Right click open to chose the correct version of Pages for your files.
    Pages 5.5.1 is a supposed "upgrade" but has over 100 features missing. I am surprised you didn't notice the huge difference in the User Interface as well.
    If you are unhappy about all this mess, say so by rating/reviewing Pages 5.5.1 in the App Store.

    I still don't understand what the problem that you are experiencing is. If you get to a page where yahoo is asking JUST for your password, and there is no box for username (it may have your username displayed, but not in a enter box), then you ARE "being kept signed in"  You can verify this by instead of entering your password, go to www.yahoo.com home page, and it will say something like "Hi, Amber"   This means you ARE signed in.
    When you get that page asking for just your password, you are NOT being asked to sign in again. You are simply being asked to verify/enter your assword an Nth time. If you get that page right after entering your username and password, try clicking the "back" (previous page) button. It might just go to your inbox.
    If this is the case, your problem has nothing to do with being kept signed in or not, the problem is that for some (unknown to me) reason, yahoo is asking you to re-enter your password, kind of like when your mac asks for your mac password when changing system settings. Yahoo does this as a safety feature when you go to account settings, and apparently abritary other times. I wish I understood just why I get it every time after signing in.
    It could be because I have java turned off. It could be because I don't accept third party cookies. Maybe a cache file. Or a hundred other things... I don't know. It could simply be yahoo is scrooing safari users. I have glanced at the html, but to really understand it, it would take me days. There are over 25 places where username and password are in the html "source" code of the yahoo login page, and even understanding that may not tell me. In the past, I have seen code essentiall saying "if IE x.3.2" do this, if chrome do that, if mozilla do something else, otherwise make it next to impossible...."
    My problem is not only I get asked for my assword a second time, but also (and only very recently) I do not get a prompt to save username and pasword. I have gone to yahoo help pages to try to figure it out, and I feel like I just run in circles. If one wants to send a question in, they have to answer half a dozen questions disclosing private information. And I pay yahoo $20/year. grrr
    If when you are trying to access your yahoo mail and you are being asked to enter both your username and password, but didn't sign out of yahoo, then indeed your are not being "kept signed in"

I just reset the password to what i thought was my iCloud account,  but ended up just being my apple ID. It signs in on my iphone with the password i try to type in to my Mac but it says it's wrong, help??

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
    Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

    Hi There.  I was trying to setup a staff members work e-mail to a work iPhone 4.  The e-mail is an Exchange e-mail.  All the information is correct (e-mail spelling, username and password, Domain and Server, etc) but it keeps saying "Exchange Account - Unable to verify account information"  Usually I just click Ok and it still gives me the options to select what I want to sync (Mail, Calendar, etc) and it still goes through.  This time it doesn't work at all. Just saves the info I inputted and won't sync up.  Any ideas on what's going on?

    Did the user change their password recently?
    A user complained about not being able to log in with correct credentials (on outlook 2010) while at home. His password had expired, and when he came in this morning, he changed it. We then tried to set up his exchange account on his iPhone, which gave us the "Unable to verify account information" message. When I learned of the password change, I looked in our Active Directory and sure enough, his account had been marked as "Locked". I unlocked it, and voila! He added his account without any further problems.
    So in short, check Active Directory to see if the accounts of affected users are locked. If they are, unlock them.

    Check the Mail settings for your account, especially the SMTP (outgoing) address, type of authentication, and entry of the proper email username and password. You can do this when you select the account then under the outgoing mail server use the dropdown menu to select the Edit option. Select your outgoing configuration in the list. Check the settings below, then click on the Advanced tab and check those settings.
    If all is OK, then I suggest your reinstall Mavericks:
    Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks
    OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X

    OS X Lion- Reinstall Mac OS X
         Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
                     if possible because it isthree times faster than wireless.
