ME-TV programming

ME-TV in my area has a full 24 hour programming schedule as seen from their website.  However, on FIOS,  (Channel 19 in my area) there is a preponderance of paid commercials (today, Sunday, April 29 alone there are 12.5 hours).  Why don't all the programs from that station come through?  I'm not paying for a majority of commercials ........thank you.

That's WSAH, it has nothing to do with Verizon. WSAH chooses not to run ME TV full time, complain to them.

I recommend you check the exact objetives here: http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=41&p_org_id=1000255&lang=ESA&p_exam_id=1Z0_001 and compare them with the objetives describe in the book. Currently I have 10 certifies and I have done the same always. I check the objetives in the Oracle web site and I study across Oracle Documentation. That is one of the best way to get a strong prepartion and it is shippper.

  • How can I print out the objects with the configuration and connections? I want to document my programming (configuration) on paper.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The datamember configurations can be exported. In edit mode, File->Export Process Data Members...
But the connections cannot be exported.
You can open the .lks file by notepad, there you will see the source codes, including the connections you configure. But you need to extract them manually.

  • Fpga High performance RIO Programming guide

Great PDF guys.  I just read through V 1.1 and found one mistake and would like to make one general suggestion.
In the table on page 81 it's written "Random read/write access to moderate amounts of memory (kilobytes) from up from two clock domain" for Primary use of BLock RAM Memory items.  This text is a bit unclear.
In addition a general note.  The difference / similarity between feedback nodes (with and without reset signal and initialisation) and discrete delays is mentioned in multiple places and seems a bit confusing.  In one place it's written that discrete delays are much more efficient because they use SRLs but later it's alsow ritten than Feedback nodes without Initialisation or reset signal can ALSO use SRLs.  I think this can be communicated a bit more clearly.
Other than that, really great document.  Keep it up.
    Shane
PS A lot of things touched on int he PDF could be illustrated with example code.  The document really needs to be a lot more comprehensive ins ome regards but it's a more than welcome step in the right direction.
PPS Some up-to.date resource utilisation charts would be a really nice addition.
Say hello to my little friend.

Capisco!

    Hello therealkilkenny,
    some comments:
    1) In the inner case statements you always have a "Set Channel" and a "Clear Channel" in the true/false cases with the same channel number wired to it. Why not make a subvi that has two inputs: channel number and a boolean flag (Set/Clear). Then your main vi only uses one subvi and in this subvi you make the difference between "Set Channel" and "Clear Channel". Btw. most times the difference between a Set and a Clear operation is only the parameter of a given command. Why not join those two vi to one and send only the right command to your DAQ device? (Example: A device needs the command F0 to clear a channel and F1 to set a channel. Then I make a vi with a boolean input, wire this input to "format into string" with format strin "F%b" and send the resulting string. It's easy to program and to debug.)
    2) You compare controls with some hidden controls. It's much better to use some shift registers for this purpose. Then it is clear that you compare the actual value with the value from the last loop iteration. And it's easier to "read"...
    3) If you change the comparision to "non equal" (instead of "equal") you get an array of bits, where (normally) only one bit is set (except the user can change switches faster than you check them). Instead of searching for a bit in that array, like you do at the moment, you convert the array to a number ("boolean array to number", numbers/conversions palette). Now you can use cases with appropriate numbers, which are easy to calculate. Example: bit 0 is set -> case number 1, bit 2 is set -> case number 2 and so on (powers of two...)
    4) You included a delay of 1 ms. For a normal user interface a value of 100-200 ms is ok. How often can you click in a second? You can also use "Wait for Front Panel Activity" (time & dialog palette), perhaps with an appropriate timeout value.
    5) Have a look at "LabView Development Guidelines", it should have come with your Labview installation. (Chapter 6, "wiring")
    Hope this helps,

    Hello,
The key will of course be to isolate differences between your machines.
I wonder if the following more specific language setting could be the lingering problem.  LabVIEW is a non-unicode program, and there is a language setting in Windows (at least XP) specifically for non-unicode programs.  Try the following (or it's Win2K equivalent) if you haven't already:
    0. Open "Control Panel"
    1. Open the "Regional and Language Options"
    2. On the Advanced tab, choose English (United States) from the drop-down menu under the top section "Language for non-Unicode Programs"
    - This language setting is different from the setting on the "Regional Options" tab.
Any other differences you can isolate would be potentially insightful - if you have the same software versions installed in the same order on both machines, we may be looking for something a bit subtle, such as the suspected language setting.

  • Programming Remote for Digital Lifestyles brand TV

I have a "Digital Lifestyles" brand TV and since it's such a new proudct, there is no code for it in the User's Manual. When I followed the directions for "What if none of the codes worked", it didn't find a code. How can I set my remote to control the TV also? I have a  Philips RC 1445302 Remote.

actually you've already done everything that you can. If you followed the "what if none of the codes worked" steps, you have gone through every code that the remote knows. If that didnt work, your out of luck on the verizon remote.
Now what you could do is, find another universal remote that will work your tv, and then program it to work the verizon stb. Most universal remotes can be programmed to Motorola STB's. You may not get all the special features (ie, vod and widget buttons) but you should be able to get the channel controls and volume

Actually, the Logitech Harmony family of remotes are rediculously easy to program.  Install the software, connect the remote via usb cable, log into your account, and make any changes you need. Then the remote gets programmed over the internet.

  • How to design LabVIEW programming for temperature monitoring using 4 thermocouples

    Hi all.
Sorry if this seems a simple question but I really sorry for the troubles. I'm a new user with LabVIEW and currently using LabVIEW 8.6 for a final year project of mine. I’m trying to monitor the temperature reading in 4 different depth of pavement for every 1 hour interval continuously for 1 month duration. Basically I’ll be using 4 separate thermocouples type J and NI 9219 device. My problems are:
I’m not sure how to design the LabVIEW programming for my application.
How to get the temperature reading data in Excel spread sheet.
How to set the min, max and average daily temperature for each thermocouple.
     Thank You.

  • Issue when programming a Diolan DLN-2

    Greetings Ni community,
I am trying to program a Diolan DLN-2 that works with a magnetometer, simliar to what I've done with a USB-8451. However, I receive an error coe of 1172 - "Error calling method Dln.I2cMaster.Port.Write, (System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.
Inner Exception: Dln.Exceptions.DlnError: DLN adapter returns error: InvalidAddress.) <append><b>Dln.Exceptions.DlnError</b> in i2c-master-configure.vi"
Attached is the zip file. It contains the DLL, the file I am trying to code with the Diolan (i2c-master-configure.vi), the data sheet for the magnetometer I am working with, and the other VI that I wrote to work with the magnetometer via the NI USB-8451 (Working Magnetometer.vi).
Apologies if my code is not right on the Diolan - again I'm trying to program it similar to the one I have working for the 8451,
I am by no means an expert at LabVIEW, but I am getting better day by day.
My code is in 2012. Let me know if you need a previous version.
      Thanks!

Hi there, check this article. It explains that error 1172 is basically a warning coming from the .NET operation performed. I would suggest to check the manual of the device in case you are not invoking references appropriately. There are some VIs missing so I can't see all the code but I assume that somewhere on the "i2c-master-configure.vi" there is a Constructor Node. Since you are new to LabVIEW I would recommend to look at the examples on the DLN-2 manual and then try to reproduce them in LabVIEW. If you get a little lost, open the examples that uses the Constructor node in order to make yourself more familiar with it. I hope this helps.

What operating system are you using? Windows? Unix? For many of these operating systems there are ready-made drivers and you should not need to use the ChipObjects.
Based on your description most likely you are missing the VISA library (visa32.lib) in your project. On Windows this is normally located in the C:\VXIPNP\WinNT\lib\msc directory.
If you are using the ChipObjects on an OS that doesn't support PCI cards through VISA, you need to update osiUserCode.cpp to interface to the regosters of the board using non-VISA functions.

  • I am using many events structures in my application, but i am getting caught in my problems ,can any body tell me abt events programming on time out

i have extensive gui application ,i am using events ,but i am caught,i want to konw abt events ,there pros and cons, time out ,how to program in time out

It is unclear as to exactly what you are asking. The event structure is very handy for monitoring front panel activity and performing tasks accordingly. The default event in the event structure is the timeout. In order to set the timeout you just wire the amount of time before timeout (in ms) to the timeout terminal of the structure. You may have tasks that you want to perform at timeout or you may just have an empty case. I strongly suggest using a timeout and putting the case structure in a while loop in order to keep monitoring the events until the loop exit condition has been met.

  • I want to become a Labview programmer and I have no programming experience where do I need to start to learn labview programming

I have had LabVIEW Basics 1 and 2 what do I do next?

I always recommend the course of action that I took when I learned LabVIEW (in one week).
Go get "LabVIEW for Everyone" and "Power Programming". They are readily available through NI's website, or through a good technical bookstore, or even a college bookstore. From there, just go through the example programs.
I strongly recommend also learning good style. LabVIEW comes with a style guidelines book (which, apparently, only 6 people have ever read...) This will get you started on the road to good practices. LTR is also a good resource.
    Good luck.
Oh, also, when you have gotten some experience, I recommend taking Advanced. I took it (three years after I learned LabVIEW) and was very happy with the course.

    Hi Everyone!
I want to program the 2 cursors(horizontal and vertical) in the intensity graph(Bright spot.png) to move to the bright spot in the middle of the intensity graph(live video feed from a CCD camera) automatically without dragging the cursor manually to the bright spot, is it possible?
I've attached part of my block diagram which involves the graph but i'm unable to attach the whole VI because it has some hardware dll in it.(you guys can ignore the formula part of the block diagram, it's not important)

Use "Array Max&Min" to find the peak coordinates, translate them to x and y values, and change your cursor position property node to write and write these values.
I am actually not sure why you have two cursors. A single cursor with a horizontal and vertical line seems sufficient.
