Hi experts,
when i enter ME54N getting popup "Purchase requisition 6100012 cannot be released" (Message no. MEPO822
after the popup it's going to display mode.
this Purchase org.,plant,document type & release strategy everything is newly configured.

Hi,
Please check the Purchase Request Release strategy has been maintained for the user id which was used to create the PR. If there is no release strategy maintained, SAP will through "MEPO822" error.
You can use the following path to check the same.
SPRO -> Material Management -> Purchaing -> Purchase Requisition -> Release Procedure -> Procedure with Classification -> Set up Procedure with Classification

Error in the strategy of Liberation, ME51N - ME54N

A request becomes of order, with transaction ME51N, mounts correctly a liberation strategy.
Soon, one would go away to the ME54N, to release it individually, and it unfolds the error to me (Purchase requisition XXXXXXXX cannot sees released, Message no. MEPO822)
That it could be happening ?

One has tried on with user SAP-ALL, reason why discards a permission subject or profile, also has been written one to SAP, which responded that the last version of note 939371 was applied, which this applied, the certain thing is that the strategy is mounted, works in simulation in the SPRO, but it allows me to make the order of purchase WITHOUT RELEASING IT, it does not allow to release it me by transaction ME54N and if it allows to release it me by transaction ME54 ????

Error at the time if cancellation of PR release thorugh ME54N

While cancelling the release thorugh ME54N transaction we got following error;
"No new release indicator can be determined"
Message No: ME108

Have, in the meanwile, you changed the previous release strategy? so the system cannot determine any

Error MEPO822

Our PRs are dependent on material group and plant for release. We did the next steps in SPRO:
1-We defined our characteristics (material group and plant)
2-We defined the class (PRFORCONSUMABLE) with class type 032 and assigned our characteristics to the class
3-We defined the release group 1 (consumable/mat. Group) wich is not overal and assigned the class to it
4-We created 2 release codes 03 & 04 (with NO workflow role) and assigned them to release group 1
5- We defined release strategy SA (PR release strategy) for release group 1 and assigned release codes to it and did all the steps(release prerequisites,release status,classification,release simulation)
6-we assigned user to the release codes
7-At the end we checked release strategies and there weren’t any error.
Now we create some PR with the coresponding material group and plant and we want to release it but in T. code ME54N we have the error:”MEPO822 Purchase requisition 10000012 cannot be released.”and there isn’t any tab for releasing.
is there any step that we didn’t pass?
Shall we do anything about workflows?

As per replies given, please check once again the steps of release strategy.
In addition to that, please check below point also :
-If your configuration client/system is different than your testing/production client/system, you meight have transported request for the same.
-If it is so, then, please note, the master data like characteristic, class and classification will not get transported to test system.
-You need to re-create the characteristic & class and assign the classification in CL24N.

Please check your release strategy with below detail.
Business Process: -
Purchase requisition is creating PPA person than PPA head release this purchase requisition.
Process of Release Strategy: -
Procedure with Classification: -
Edit Characteristics: -
For implement release strategy for purchase requisition you have to create Characteristics u2013 CT04.
For Example: -
Suppose you want to create release strategy for purchase requisition document type wise. So you create characteristics for purchase requisition document type with CT04 u2013 document_type.
Edit Classes: -
After creation of characteristics, Create Class u2013 CL01 for release strategy of purchase requisition.
For Example: -
Create class for purchase requisition like: Release_PR
Set Up Procedure with Classification: -
In this node you can maintain following details.
Release Group
Release Codes
Release Indicator
Release Strategies
Now we see above details in briefly
Release Group: -
You can maintain release group in this node. This permits the multiple usage of the same release strategy key
For example: - Create 01 u2013 Release Group for purchase requisition release strategy and assign your class of release strategy.
Release Codes: -
You can maintain release code against release group with this node.
For example: - Create release code 01 u2013 PPA Head against release group 01 u2013 release group.
Release Indicator: -
You can create release indicator with this node, like blocked, in process, Release.
For example: - Create two indicators, Like X u2013 Blocked, 9 u2013 Release.
Release Strategy: -
After click on this node you can see four different step for release strategy of purchase requisition.
Release prerequisites, Release status, Classification, Release simulation.
First off all maintain your release code in Release code tab. Than done some bellow settings.
Release prerequisites: -
Click on release prerequisites tab, change your required changes and click on continue button.
Release Status: -
In this node you can set your path of release strategy.
For example: - you want to create release strategy like when PPA head tick on release indicator at that time purchase requisition made release. So you can set it via release status.
Classification: -
In this node you have to enter value of characteristics.
For example: - enter NB u2013 standard pr for document_type.
Note: - Before enter value in Classification, You have to maintain value in characteristics u2013 CT04 in value tab.
Release simulation: -
Check release simulation for release strategy.
After done this process, Create purchase requisition for document type NB u2013 Standard PR.
At the time of check release strategy will be implemented in your purchase requisition.
You can release it via ME54N. List of purchase requisition release with ME55.

Authorization check for ME54N v/s Authorization check for ME54

Hi,
We have created th PR and release it, with reference to PR we have created the PO. When we try to revoke the PR releas using the t-code ME54 systems gives me a error message, that PO is already created for this PR.
however, if i try to revoke this pr using ME54N system allows me to revoke it.
My requirement is that the user should not revoke the Pr once the PO is created against this using t-code ME54N. is there any authorization check or object to control the t-code ME54N.

I apologise, Alex - but I do not think that is a good advise. ME54 N is there for a reason. It will one day substitute ME54 and anyway, changes bugfixes etc may no longer be developed for the 'old' transaction.

Msg # is MEPO822 - PR

Dear All,
I have made all the settings in Spro for PR Release & then went to the IMG to release the PR i.e Individual Release(ME54N) (i.e PR No is 1). But it says PR1 Can't be released & the Msg No is MEPO822.
Can anyone solve my problem.

Hi,
If you can't find it, then the P req is probably not blocked due to a strategy and this would explain why you are having problems releasing it.
The tab is next to the "text" tab just under the P req number.
So it looks like your release strategy config is not correct or the requisition is just not being trapped due to the price or data on it.
have ANY requisitions been blocked ever? (i.e. is the starategy working for any reqs?0

Purchase Requistion Release Reset by ME54n & ME54

Dear all
Once PR is created, then Released by ME54n or ME54, then RFQ is processed wrt PR, then after if user want to reset release by ME54, the system prompts error message and not allowed reset release. BUt if user use T-code ME54n, the system allows to reset release.
we need, the system should not also allow to reset release for T-code ME54n.
Please suggest solution

I raised this to SAP and got reply from SAP.

ME54N allows the user to unrelease a purchase requisition linked to a
purchase order or a request for quotation. Please see following
attached note 686022 which explains this behavior.
Symptom
You create a purchase order (or a request for quotation) with reference
to a released purchase requisition.
If you use ME54N to unrelease the purchase requisition, the error
message ME110 (or ME109) is not processed.
Reason and Prerequisites
ME54N allows the user to unrelease a purchase requisition linked to a
purchase order or a request for quotation. This is correct behaviour andconstitutes a new design.
The following modification keeps the old functionality (ME54) available.You have to customize message ME110 (or ME109) as an error message.
After pressing the cancel release button, the system will process an
information message (ME110 or ME109) and the release will not be
cancelled.
If you want to use the old functionality in ME54, you can implement the
modification as note 686022.

SAP message Log

Does SAP maintain log of all the messages displayed on screen using MESSAGE statement?
We are investigating a problem and want to see the messages displayed by SAP during the time when problem occured.

We have custom development for picking and confirmation. Last week we found that in some deliveries there is difference in delivered quantity and packed quantity.
Custom development is calling sap-standard FMs. Problem occurs randomly, roughly 10 deliveries in a week has this problem.
We are still trying to investigate the reason that is causing the problem.
Custom program does display the message to user if FM raise any message. We asked user of they are getting any message while picking, and if they are ignoring it.
They just confirmed that they are getting message 'Packing Not Possible Since there is no Quantity to be Packed' and they did ignored this.

Windows Vista: Ipod Error Message, no longer read by PCs

Hello,
I have a 5th generation black ipod video with 30GB of memory.
The other day I hooked it up to my laptop (Toshiba, 4 months old) that it's been functioning on with no problems whatsoever. This weird error message flashed twice about it not being able to sync because of some software problem.
Eversince then, the only thing I can charge my ipod on is the family treadmill in the basement (~_~) as no other computer in the house recognizes it. I can't even charge it through the wall sockets, either.
I have changed the ipod cord, still no luck. I've also reset the device about 3 or 4 times and uninstalled, restarted the laptop then reinstalled itunes. I would like to reset it back to factory settings but that's impossible as computers/laptops don't pick it up. I live very far from a Mac store...
What's a girl to do? I can't live without my Busta Rhymes and Wu-Tang Clan!

Error message into a Variable.

I have a rather usual (unusual from the weekend beers for me though!!) query which I can't figure out a proper way to implement.
My requirement is like this:
I have a message class in which I want to define a text 'Employee number & not found'.
I want to use this in the program, but not to raise this error. Instead, I want to move this error message with the Employee number into a Character(200) variable.
So instead of using MESSAGE e0xx(messageclass) USING employee number, I would like to move the error text into a variable which looks like:
lv_text = e0xx(messageclass) USING '1234' which stores the text 'Employee number 1234 not found' in lv_text.
How would I acheive it??

Cannot sync, error message "could not be read" for an iPod no longer in use

I have two problems. I upgraded iTunes to 7.2 and the very next morning my iPod died. It is completely unresponsive. Maybe it's coincidental. So I bought a new 80 gig iPod and gave it a different name than the old dead iPod. Now when I try to sync the new iPod, it goes for about 10 minutes, then it fails with this message:
Attempting to copy to the disk "old iPod name" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to.
It is complaining that it can not read the old dead iPod that is NOT hooked up to the computer! Somehow, minutes into syncing, iTunes has forgotten which iPod it is looking at. I have seen the article about the "cannont be read" message and it is not relevant. I need to make iTunes forget about the old dead iPod so it will stop looking for it. I've tried removing the files from "Documents and Settings" but iTunes still remembers the old unit. Where else does it store information? Any recommendations?

Okay, that can sometimes be caused by a Windows drive letter confusion. For troubleshooting advice on that possibility, see the following document:

Error message: "playlists selected for updating no longer exist"

I tried to update my ipod nano and I guess I had deleted a playlist, but since then, I have not been able to update. Every time I try, I get the following message:
"Cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for updating no longer exist."
I haven't been able to highlight which playlists are selected to begin with.
I read through the manual and thought that maybe rebooting the whole system might work. So I deleted Itunes from my computer and re-installed.
Then I tried re-setting my ipod. So now I have nothing on my ipod.
I also deleted everything from my library, thinking it might help to start from scratch. Nothing has worked.
How do I "select" and "unselect" playlists so I can get up and running again?

IPod seen by windows, not by iTunes+ weird error message

I have a first generation 2GB iPod nano and i use windows xp. I can't load any music because iTunes doesn't see my iPod and an error message pops up that reads like this: "iTunes: iTunes.exe corrupt file. The file or directory \iPod_Control\iTunes is corrupt and unredable. Please run the checkdisk utility." I've tried everything, reinstalling iTunes, different versions, reinstalling OS, resetting iPod, even on another computer, same problem. Other than that, the iPod works normally, it's just lacking music..
and why is there no email adress from apple for service qustions? 10x

I still don't get it, how can I put it in disk mode if I CANNOT see the iPod in iTunes..?

Error message iPod cannot update b/c all of the playlists no longer exist

Hello. I have been getting this error message. "Songs on the iPod "MAR(the name of my iPod)" cannot update because all of the playlists selecting for updating no longer exist." And my playlists are still on the left side in my iTunes. They do exist. I have a feeling ths might have to do with the fact that on vacation the person I was visiting gave me a gift of putting all of his music that would fit into the external hard drive part of my iPod, and for the past week or so I have been putting that music onto my 40 GB portable hard drive at home. I suspect I took a vital folder out of my iPod by accident. Right now I have the folder iPod_control if I open my iPod up in My Computer. Am I missing something? Right now my iPod is empty because iTunes made a composite playlist last week and I deleted it thinking I could get my real playlists back. Can you help me, or reccomend a site/someone who can? Thank you.

let's just doublecheck this. folks get this message if they have "automatically update selected playlists only" selected in their itunes "ipod" preferences tab. so bring up that tab ("edit > preferences", click "ipod" while the ipod is showing up in the source list), and do a playlist by playlist crosscheck of the playlists selected in that tab, and the playlists showing up in the itunes sourcelist.
is there any playlist selected in the preferences tab that isn't showing up in the sourcelist?
