Meaning of grey triangle upright in color box

To identify a color problem i am experiencing,
i am fooling around with background colors.
When i look at the background color box under appearance of a slide i notice
that for some slides their is a little grey triangle in the upper right corner of the color box. Other slides show no triangle.
What is the meaning of that ?
Thanks Jitse

The best I can figure is that the triangle shows you sampled the color using the mag glass on the colors palette. As soon as you modify the color using the sliders the triangle goes away.

• Color box garbled

Using Cap5 and have started getting a weird problem in the "color box".
When I set stroke or fill colour the color box displays normally, but if I try to edit stroke or fill in a highlight, the color box looks like its been "shaken and stirred". Have added an image of the 2 to help you guys see what I mean. If anybody has any ideas on the cause, then please help. It is not a show stopper,
but is highly irritating

Hello,
Did you do a lot of customizing of the Captivate settings/preferences? If not I would suggest you to delete the Preferences folder. If you are on Win7 this folder is in your profile, path is probably this:
C:\Users\<USER NAME>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Captivate 5
It is this Captivate 5 folder that you can delete while CP is closed. When you restart the program a fresh one will be created, and eventual corrupt files will be removed. I'm suspecting that this could repair your garbled swatches panel.
This is a system folder, which means that it is hidden by godfather MS by default. You have to make it visible from the Tools of Explorer.

• 3D active-x color table does not match color box ctrl values

I am having a problem. I want to allow the user to control the background color and plot colors on the active-x 3D graph in labview 7.1.1. I am using the standard color box ctrls in labview to allow the user to pick, but the colors do not match. When I pick blue (0,0,255), it comes up red (255,0,0). When I choose yellow (255,255,0), it comes up cyan (0,255,255), and vice-versa. Black and white seems to work correctly, as well as green (0,255,0) being right in the middle. I am assuming this means whatever algorithm NI is using to create the color value is not the same from the labview side to the active-x control side. Anybody else run into this, and have a solution?

Thanks John.
Kind of funny, I ran off and built a sub-vi with the exact same guts as the OLE vi, but from looking at what the RGB vi did to break it down.
I would say though, they need to make a common sub-palette to deal with color issues. They have the same two RGB VIs located in two different spots, and this OLE one is in yet another. I think I would have looked under the Active-X sub-palette before I looked under the 3D graph palette (mainly because those are junk anyway, they barely give you any functionality).
Anyway, problem solved, thanks again.

• My pictures will not open. When I click on them they only display a grey triangle and an exclamation mark inside it.

I know how I messed it all up.
I opened up Finder from the bottom dock and saw all my files including pics. Trying to free up as much space as possible on my pc I selected all and then deleted it. I thought because it is all in iphoto ,deleting it from Finder will not take it off everywhere. Later on I emptied the trash. When I finally realised that I had messed up I just went back on Time Machine and restored.
Now I can see what looks like all the files again it is there in Finder but when I try and open the pics in iphoto it simply shows a grey triangle with an exclamation mark in it?
I tried dragging them all into my iphoto from Finder but it said I do not have enough space.
Please help I am new to Apple.

1 - NEVER make any changes of any sort tot he content or structure of the iPhoto library using the finder - there are no user servicable parts in it
2 - what did you restore from Time Machine? and how did you restore?
3 - how much free space do you have on your hard drive?

When I click to open a photo it opens a black screen with a grey triangle, exclamation mark in the middle. How do I fix this problem?

Make a temporary, backup copy of your library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

• How can I make a color box indicator transparent?

All, I would like to make a color box, which is part of a cluster in an array, transparent programmatically.  Instead of appearing transparent, it shows up with a LARGE "T" inside the color box, with a white background.  Because it is part of a cluster within an array, it will not work to use a property node... and because I would like to programmatically change the color, having it permanenty transparent (as proposed on another discussion topic) will also not work.  Can someone please help me turn a color box transparent programmatically?
Thanks.
Anthony

The problem is that arrays of clusters cannot be passed into property nodes as falkpl has previously said. The attached jpeg shows how you would programmatically break the arrays into cluster, into elements, and then manipulate that color box to a transparent one. The T within the white color box indicates transparent though. If you were to attached that to a color attribute then you would see that object disappear (well I guess not since it's transparent )

• Lightroom 5 What is the Color box for in the adjustment brush and filters

Hi
I am running Lightroom 5.6 although I think this has been around probably from 4.In the Basic Development module when I select the Adjustment brush, Radial filter or Graduated filter then below Defringe I get a box marked Color. What does this box do.

Thanks for the quick reply. This is what I expected but it does not do it very well. For example If I have a light blue background and select 100% Blue in the Color box I would expect it to increase the blue but it does not really do this.

• Color box in a 2D Array

Hi,
I am a beginner in Labview , i want to color a box in a 2D Array of color boxes.  So if the user clicks on a box inside the 2D array, the box will turn into a specific color. I think i need to get the column and  row of the element that has been clicked.
Then i want to check if the box already has been turned into another color , if not i want to turn it into a specific color ( e.g. connect 4).If it already has been turned into a specific color it wont change.

thats the color box.
So can someone please help me with this problem.
Thx

Here is a quick example (not at all bullet-proof, just trying to give you an idea).
All of the squares start white.
If a white square is clicked, it will turn red.
If it is already red, it will stay red.
Hope that helps getting you started.
Edit: I forgot one quick thing. Wire a constant of 100 to the event timeout (the hourglass in the upper left corner).

you cannot create folders for photos on the iPod Touch. you must currently do it on a computer by syncing the iPod with a photo program, and creating folders within that program and syncing them over. kinda stupid, but hopefully they'll fix it in an update soon.

• Scanning Paper Copies of White and Black Photos:  in Grey scale or in color mode?

I started to scan old black and white paper photos of my deceased father. He shot most of these photos around 1940. The photos are typically around 9.5cm x 6.5 cm (around 3.7 x 2.5 inches), sometimes they are even smaller. Typically, 4-6 photos are glued on each page of a dark photo-album paper. I do not have available any negatives.
My main objective: enjoy to look at the scanned photos on my 19 inch PC Monitor Display. I can imagine, that I will also print a couple of them in something close to their original dimensions.
For the scan, I am using my home flat-bed scanner (it is a 3-year old Canoscan N676U). I am scanning at a resolution of 300, 400 or 600 dpi. I experimented both with a "grey scale" and a "color (photo)" scans. I am not sure what is better: scan in grey scale? Or scan in color?
Scanning in "Color" results (this is at least my subjective impression) in a little bit more/better contrast. However this results also in some yellow/brown/sepia taint, that I do not like very much (the taint becomes especially disagreeable, if I eventually use the PSE Editor to adjust the lighting). Therefore, after the scan I typically use the PSE V5 Editor "Enhance" --> "Convert to Black and White" to get rid of the yellow/brown taint.
Can somebody make me some recommendations and tell me which one is the better method:
1) Scan with "Colors" and then use the PSE Editor to get rid of color taints? Or
2) Scan in "Gray scale" (which allows me to scan with a greater resolution)?
At this time, I have the impression, that both methods results in more or less comparable results. But I fear somehow, that I might be currently missing some important aspects and that I could regret it much later, at a time where I will not have anymore the originals (they do not belong to me, and I have to return them).
I found the following two contradictory recommendations:
1) In the PSE Forum "Tips, Tools, How-To and Techniques....", in the Topic "Scanned Images", I found following Post:
brent bertram - 11:14am Oct 18, 05 PST (#5 of 6)
AND, even Black & White photos typically benefit from being scanned as a color image, rather than grey scale. You have much more flexibility in editing and adjustments.
2) A Canon Dealer recommended me to scan my black and white images with grey scale, not with colors.
Thank You very much for Your Feedback.

Robert.....
I would go along with the advocates of scanning in colour as it gives you far more flexibility to tweak the colour channels in editor. For your final version you can then either convert to grayscale or,preferably in my opinion, use one of the PSE desaturation methods, and retain the file as RGB.
A very useful source of scanning information can be found at http://www.scantips.com/

• Randomized Colors are Too Dark. Questions on Color Boxes

Hey all,
I am attempting to change the color of the plots on a mixed signal
graph remotely using the "color box" control which works fine; however, I
am also setting the color boxes to a random color when the program
first starts up which is where my problem lies.
What I currently am doing is that I have a random number generator
pumping out a number after which I multiply the number by 10000000, just
to give me some colors brighter than black, and then I have that wired up to
the color box control I am setting the random color on. The problem with
this is that although it does produce some decent colors some of the
colors produced are quite dark and pretty hard to see on the mixed
signal graph.
I could make the graph background a different color if I have to in
order to see a majority of the colors that come out, but I would much
rather just have the colors come out more on the bright and colorful
side.
So I have two questions for you guys and gals:
1) How do the colors of the colorbox get determined using the unsigned 32 int?
One such example of why I am confused is that the number that I have
going in is 5726420 from the random number generator (+ being
multiplied), but on the colorbox control the RGB value is R:87 G:96
B:212. Why is that?
2) Is there any kind of algorithm out there that someone has done
that can produce values randomly that will give kind of neony colors? or
anything semi-bright for that matter?
Any help is very much appreciated!
