Measure data through XI per interface/communication channel

Is there a way to measure the data through XI per interface/communication channel. SXMS_XI_AUDIT_DISPLAY gives you a list of the total throughput in XI, but I would like this to be specified per interface or communication channel.
Is this possible?

Go to RWB -> Performance Monitoring -> Here you can specify the interface name and time interval and it will give you all the details like Message Size, Processing Time, Start-End of processing interval etc.

Can DI process SCADA data through an OPC Interface?

Currently supporting a partner in a bid to an Energy company who want to be able to report on
SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) data from their wind farms. This is raw data about turbine faults, meteorological data, and 10 minute status updates.
The partner and myself are unsure how we can go about collecting the data from the SCADA servers on the wind farms, particularly in relation to data from turbines manufactured by Enercon and Nordex. Both of these companies provide an OPC interface to their SCADA datastore. (I understand that OPC is an industry standard for SCADA data & that it stands for OLE for Process Control).
Question is, does anyone out there know whether DI supports OPC in any way and has been used in this scenario?

I'm not familiar with Enercon and Nordex control systems which are probably designed to perform optimisation peculiar to wind farms as well as providing monitoring and control. If they're based on OSISoft's PI server then you could probably use the PI ODBC driver or they may have their own ODBC driver.
There is also the possibility of using XML as an interface - I believe there are OPC XML data interchange products which may be able to do what you want though I haven't used them myself

RFC , IDoc , XI and JDBC receiver communication channel--- Good Design

Hi Experts,
We have developed around 60+ interfaces on PI7.1 EHP1, in that 20 interfaces sending data to Data Base using JDBC receiver communication channel, 15 interfaces ABAP inbound proxy using XI adapter,10 Scenarios using IDoc receiver channel and 15 scenarios using RFC receiver channel.
But I have created only one IDoc, XI , JDBC and RFC channel.
Is it right idea/design or do I need to create more channels to handle multiple request.
Please share your thoughts on this.

Hi,
For XI,RFC and Idoc when it's pointing to one SAP system you don't need any further comm channels.
For JDBC , if you are pointing to only one database you can use the same channel, if the target/databse changes you need more comm channels.
Your Design is as per the standards.

Error in calling SOAP receiver communication channel in a syncronous comm

Hi I am getting the following dump..when I am sending some employee data from SAP to a webservice through a SOAP reciver communication channel.
It is a syncronous communication.

No in the adapter monitoring...
It shows the messages for all other adapters...
But there is not even a single processing message for this SOAP communication channel...it only shows active..that means I think there is no processing of messagethrough this ..is it ?...but why not there is any error in the SXMB_MONI..
Earlier it was giving an error saying the proxy authentification required..but that doesn't work...now I have removed the proxy settings ..and it takes the program to dump..

HI,
The communication channel template is for the documentation purpose that will give the information about the sender and receiver communication channels in IR. So No need to goto ID and check the related CCs each time for every scenario.
You can preconfigure a communication channel with a communication channel template. You can use the communication channel template as a template to define a communication channel at configuration time.
If you want to create multiple communication channels with some identical configuration data, you should use a communication channel template.

How to acquire data through multiple channels in parallel using PXI 6070 E, PXI 4071 and LabVIEW?

Hi,
I am using NI LabVIEW, NI PXI 4071, and NI PXI 6070E to measure current through a variable resistance. Now, I am using one channel from SCB-68, but I want to add another channel in parallel so that I can have two resistors instead of one that I cam measure current through them.
I have attached a Pdf file showing the setup for hardware in use and LabVIEW code also.
Can anyone look at these files and give me guide lines or ideas that can help me resolving this issue, please.

Your 4071 can only do one measurement at a time. Your DAQ cannot measure resistance either nor has it got any analogue inputs.
However, you could use a multiplexer and multiplex your 4071 DMM. This wont give you simultaneous measurements but can acquire data one after the other, the speed is obviously dependent on the multiplexer you choose!

How to get the measurement data from IMU using SBRIO through SPI?

I’am trying to use the SPI communication protocol to realize the bridge between my Vectornav VN100 IMU chip and the LABView through the SBRIO 9602. I amended the SPI sample code from NI website based on my own device and configuration. It compiled and ran well. The problem is the IMU we are using need a 16 bytes command and it will give back a response containing the measurement data. But it seems that with the code I have, I can only send an at most 32 bits command once. Hope anyone who has experience in IMU implementation on LABView could give me some help! Thanks a lot!

I attached the amended program and the Manual Sheet of the IMU I am using.
Since I only need to one port, I just amended the configuration for port 1 and adjusted the code for my device.
I think the problem exist in the data sending mechanism, you can check the requirement out in P12 and P13 of the manual sheet.

Variable file name through Receiver mail Communication channel

I need to send a file through receiver communication channel with the following name ( YYMMDD schema) . The YYMMDD is current date . I know how to create these file names throug FCC ( file communication channel) , I tried in the same manner to create this file through Receiver Mail CC , but it did not work . If you have any ideas , can you please share with me ?

I have created a sceario in which i have created following things
2 - External Definition of Same XSD
2 - Data Types
2 - Message Types
4 - Message Interfaces
2 - XSLT mappings
2 - Interface Mapping
I have created on two scenario objects in XI ID.
But In RWB i can see only one sceario message interfaces and communication channels but the for other scenario MIs and Communication channels are not visible in RWB
I have created all the things in only one Namespace.
What could be the problem .please help me

I would like to develop a report, which can give me the details of interfaces in an XI environment, and their corresponding communication channel details like Server, Directory....
I know that IR and ID reside in Java stack. Here my question will be
Will the Java stack parameters reside in SAP Data base tables?
If yes, then any idea, which tables they reside in?
As we have multiple XI environments, Client wants to develop this type of report so that when ever he runs this report he will get the latest information.

when i open the interface determintation that i created, i can see.
Sender Details:

Receiver Details:

Interface:EmployeeEmailProcessing_Inb

I created a Generic File Receiver communication Channel for my receiver BS: CC_FileReceiver
In the target FileName field of the Communication channel, i would not like to hardcode any filename value, but my requirement is, the filename should be the same as the name of the Receiver Interface, that has been used in the message exchange.
in my case, it should be something like EmployeeEmailProcessing_Inb.xml
How can we access dynamically the interface related entries in the Communication channel, and how can we set those values in the Target Filename value of the File Receiver communication channel.
in short, if i use the same communication channel for other scenario, the received filename should be different based on the receiver interface name that is executed.
It would be even more better if i could access/set the receiver namespace value as part of the TargetFileName or TargetFileDirectory values.
pls let me know how this can be possible.

Getting SQL*Net more data from client waits when running a query through web based interface

We are having this weird behavior when running query through web based interface, we get a lot of "SQL*Net more data from client" waits, the OEM indicates that the current wait event is SQL*Net more data from client
It's just a very simple query wich invokes a db link.
When I execute the same query on any PL/SQL tool like toad or sql developer it works fine, but that query inside an application executed through a web based interface, it hangs for ever.
Where can I start looking for the problem.
We are working on a 3 Node RAC 11gr2, both databases are on the same RAC.

we managed to reproduce the case in test environment, below are the steps:
1)have 2 databases on different machines, will call the first one local, the other one remote.
2)in the local database create:
a - DBLink to remote database.
b - read data from remote database(we simply used select count(*) from dummy_table )
c - insert data into a table on the local database
d - terminate the connection between the 2 databases (disconnect either machine from the network)
e - commit on local database.
what we noticed was the following:
1)when the local database is disconnected from the network(the machine is not connected to any network at the moment): almost immediately throws an error, and issuing the following:
select * from dba_2pc_pending;we found some data .
2) when the remote database was disconnected(the local database is still connected to the network):
after 7-8 seconds an error is thrown, and issuing the following:
select * from dba_2pc_pending;did not return any data.
since this is pretty similar to our case ,we concluded that it's a network issue.
is this the correct behavior ?
as a temporary solution till the network issue is fixed ,we did the following:
1) changed the call of the remote procedure to calling a local procedure that calls the remote procedure.
2) added pragma autonomous_transaction to the local procedure.
3) at the end of the local procedure rollback the autonomous transaction.
it seems that since the global transaction does not use the DBLink database does not issue a 2PC commit.
this works in my cases since the DBLink is only issed to read data.

Stop communication channel after data delivery

Hi all,
I have a communication channel of type JDBC.
The channel should be started and stopped via external control.
The problem is that I don't know when the data transfer is completed in order to stop the channel.
Or is there a functionality that a communication channel is stopped automatically after running.

My understanding is that you want to switch off the channel only after all the inserts have been done in DB, am I right?
There is a solution but an ugly one You have to send a response back from the DB claiming that the inserts are completed, this response message can be linked with your external control program which will end up in stopping the channel.
If you or anyone else come up with a better solution, please share with the forum.
