Measurement studio expired first day I install

Hi,
I download Measurement Studio 2009 for Visual Studio Evaluation yesterday. I installed it with Labview 2009 and DAQmx 9.2.1. My OS is XP sp3. I have a DAQ card DAQ-6024E. And I tried to output a analog signal using the card. So, I found out there is an example from NI after installation named "GenVoltageUpdate" in the folder  \NI-DAQ\Examples\MStudioVC2008\Analog Out\Generate Voltage\. I used VS 2008 to try to run this program in debug mode. There was a box popped up "The Measurement studio evaluation has expired". I checked the Measurement Studio>> License, and it shown as the figure attached. None of them has expired yet.
I don't know why there is such message about expiration. I hope someone can help me.
Thank you very much.

Hi, I installed today (02-12-2011) the evaluation version of Measurement studio 2010 for Visual Studio 2008.
Checking the licence page from the Measuremt studio menu I get thet all the components I installed should expire on 13/03/2011.
The problem is that if I try to execute any sample code provided I get the following error:
System.ComponentModel.LicenseException was unhandled

I tried using the Measurement studio active-X License fixer. In the Licensed controls list there is "3D Graph control 8.0" but in the Elvaluation Licenses list and the Broken Licenses list the is no controls at all.
Is there something else I can do?

  • Adobe Pro trial expires same day as installed

    Hi,
I downloaded and installed the Adobe Pro 30 day trial today but when I started it it says that the trial period has expired.
    Whats the problem.
    Regards
    Steve

Adobe people sometimes visit the forum, but this isn't a route to tech support. That said, tech support isn't available for the free trial so far as I know... I've never seen any Adobe response indicating anything different than I said, but it's possible there have been private replies.

  • Free trial expired same day as installed?

I am a bit frustrated as I installed a free 30 day trial today and when I went to use it, was told my 30 day trial has expired. Is this a bait and switch?

    Hi Joan Coster,
If the trial version indicates as being expired then it has expired. There is no way to extend the trial.
You can find more details at Adobe trial software expired early -http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/trial-software-expired-early .html.

  • Lightroom 4-trial expired the day I installed

I downloaded a trial of lightroom 4 today on my mac running V 10.6.8. I installed and it told me to either login or create an adobe account, I created an account and started running lightroom.
I uploaded a couple hundred pictures from an SD card and noticed that nothing was showing up on my film strip, and therefore I couldn't use the develop area (although I did get there once, but I can't remember how). I googled a bit and someone said they had a similar problem and restarting lightroom did the trick. So I shut down lightroom, restarted it, and it brought me back to the original 'liscense or try' window but told me my trial had 0 days left and if I wanted to keep using it I had to enter a serial number.
I've spent about 2 hours calling adobe, being transfered, having my calls dropped, and now customer service is closed. So I thought you guys might be able to help me?
Also, I moved lightroom to the trash, emptied it, and reinstalled but I'm still getting the same '0 days left' message.
    TIA!

Can anyone tell me what's happened?
Yes.  En doesn't function as a trial version due to MPEG licensing issues.

  • Is it possible to RESET Fixed Asset Module to the first day we installed it

    Hi All,
We setup our Fixed Assets module months ago and now realised that we need to have a clean FA Module, so that we can restructure it the way we need. (New categories, new assets, etc.)
I was wondering if there is a concurrent program or another kind of program to basically RESET the FA (Like resetting it to default).
I know, this sounds something almost impossible, but I would appreciate any kind of help.

  • Visual Studio 2012 crashes at startup after installing Measurement Studio 2013

    Hi,
    History:
VS2012 (with Update 4) has worked without problems for a few months.
Installation of Measurement Studio 2013: at first, everything is ok.
Reboot of the PC: VS2012 crashes at startup, showing the splash screen, "not responding"
Deinstallation of Measurement Studio: VS2012 is working again.
Re-Installation of Measurement Studio: VS2012 is crashing again.
Repair-Installation of Update 4 of VS2012: VS2012 is working again ... until a reboot of the PC.
Starting VS2012 in SafeMode: working, but i cannot use Measurement Studio in this mode (of course).
PC is Windows 7 Professional 64Bit, Service Pack 1
I also reinstalled VS ... without success. Any other ideas?
Log of eventviewer has two entries, see attached File

    Hi,
There were no updates during that night, but some during last night. And I'm not sure if the update 4 really is responsible for that behaviour:
Yesterday after the crash I installed Update 4 again: it worked. Reboot: it worked.
Starting System right now: it is crashing again.
Currently  there are 3 Updates on the system related to VS:
    KB2707250 (The Update 4)
    KB2781514
    KB3002339
With KB3002339 an issue with ASP.NET will be fixed. Well....i'm not using ASP.NET, just a step in the dark: i made a repair installation of this update and it is working again. How long? Maybe even god doesn't know ...

I´m using snow leopard the last version. What can i do to solve this problem and and continue using my itunes normally?

Try doing it in a WIndows Safe mode - Restart computer and hit F8 key right after your see BIOS check and choose "Safe mode with networking"
    Do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that does not work, whilst in safe mode, download Free Malwarebyte software from CNET's Download.com.  Install, update virus definition then perform a full scan.  Remove if it did find some viruses or trojans.  Restart computer.
Back to regular windows, do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that doesnot work, check to see if your Hard drive has errors or bad sectors
GO START BUTTON /COMPUTER, right mouse click OS (C:) and choose "Properties"
Choose "Tools" tab and under error checking, click "Check Now".
Make sure "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" is checked and click start.
Restart windows will perform the above task to fix errors  This may take hours depends on how big is your Hard Drive
    Good Luck!!.

  • Installing Measurement Studio 2010 has caused error PRJ00003 errors in VC Projects

After installing MS 2010, I tried opening and even creating a basic project from existing code and when compiling, I am now getting the following error:
    error PRJ00003: Error spawning 'rc.exe'
which seems related to not being able to find kernel32.lib
Anyone know any insight about this?  I've found lots of other people having this issue and it seems some path or something got messed up.  Just wanted to check to see if anyone else had this happen.
    Some system info
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows has v5.0 folder with Include and Lib\IA64 folders (kernel32.lib is in there) and a v6.0A folder which has an empty bin folder and Bootstrapper with bunches of stuff
And my MVS folder is such: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0
And regedit sdk key has CurrentIA64Folder and Version as the two keys pointing to v5.0

    Hi ngay588,
I have a couple of questions about what you are experiencing:
    1. Is this happening  with all projects or do projects not using Measurement Studio functions compile successfully?
    2. I'm assuming you are building Visual C++ projects, but have you tried compiling other projects in Visual Studio?
    3. What version of Visual Studio are you using?
    Also, some things to check:
    1.  Some people who have ahd this problem found that their virus scanner thought rc.exe was an infected file and was isolating it.
    2. Check to see if rc.exe is located in the following:
        C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\MSDev98\Bin
        C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VB98\Wizards
        C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools\Bin

  • Install Error when trying to install Measurement Studio 7.0

I am receiving two erros when trying to install Measurement Studio 7.0:
"The installer cannot setup Measurement Studio for Visual C++ while Visual C++ is open. Please make sure Visual C++ is closed and click ok."
"Although you have the proper version of Visual C++ installed on your system, it is not configured properly. To correct this problem, run Visual C++ and exit it, then run this installer."
I am running Windows XP and have installed Visual Studio.net Academic Edition. Will Measurement Studio work with Visual Studio Academic Edition, or do I need the professional edition? What can I do to solve this problem?

    Hello
Are you installing the Measurement Studio support CD and having this problem? If you are using Visual Studio .NET 2003, you don't need to install the Measurement Studio support CD ( check my post here).

  • Error when trying to Install Measurement Studio 7.0

I did not mention this before, but the disks, Measurement Studio Professional Edition for Windows XP, Visual Studio.net and the Device Driver Reference CD installed fine. The Measurement Studio Professional Support for VIsual Studio 6.0 did not install properly. Do I even need to install this disk if I am running Visual Studio.net?

    Hello EE
If you are using Visual Studio .NET 2003 with Measurement Studio, you do not need to install the support for Visual Studio 6 CD. You would only need to install this CD if you are planning to use VB 6.0 and VC++ 6.0
    Hope this helps

Do you want to install Visual Studio, CVI, etc.?  It looks like you are running the device drivers DVD, and must have told it to install All device drivers, rather than just the ones it determined you needed when it scanned your system.  So when it tries to install the device drivers for VS and CVI et al, it can't find that software on your PC.  If you want that software, they would be on other CD's in your Developer's suite package.  Install that, then run the Device Drivers DVD again.
If you only want to install Labview, rerun your DVD for your device drivers again, and only install the features that it wants.  I find the device drivers DVD takes a long time to initialize, and I believe that is because it is scanning your PC to detect what other National Instrument products you have installed so it can populate the list of what drivers you need to install.

  • Remove Measurement Studio Enterprise trial computers with activated Standard licenses

When I install Measurement Studio 2013 on a development computer, activate my Standard Development serial number and license that PC over the Internet, and build some software in Visual Studio, the Enterprise Development trial is automatically selected in the build process. After 30 days, the license expires, and the software behaves as if it is unlicensed - that is, it crashes. A Clean and Rebuild must be run to select the Standard Development license and make the software work again.  I believe that this default behavior is incorrect.  This 30 day window is often shortly after delivering the machine to a customer, so it fails on their floor right after we leave! This is not good for our reputation or for NI's reputation.
One or more of the following options would be the preferred behavior:
    (1) Do not automatically enable the "Enterprise Development" trial. This trial should be deactivated by default when a Standard or Professional license is activated, and a user should be able to open NI License Manager and Activate it as required.
    (2) Show a warning on start-up whenever a trial license is used. This is what LabVIEW does: upon launch of LabVIEW the user would see something like "Evaluation License - 5 days remaining".  Measurement Studio users do not see this upon launch of Visual Studio, upon building the project in Visual Studio, or upon starting the resulting software.  It would be nice if you could provide a link that would instruct users on how to deactivate the Enterprise Development license in this warning.
    (3) Use the lowest possible development system. If Enterprise-only features are used and a Standard license and Enterprise trial are available, then the trial is necessary (though a warning as in #2 above would be nice), but otherwise use the Standard or Professional license. This issue has caused us some embarrassment several times. Please fix it!
The workaround, according to Michael Keane from NI (in Service Request #7454045, if anyone from NI is reading this), is as follows:
I assume that in License Manager during those 30 days you would see a green box next to Standard edition and a half white / half yellow box next to Enterprise. The workaround for what you are describing would be to go into ProgramData (hidden folder, will have to type it into Windows Explorer) >> National Instruments >> License Manager >> Licenses and move the Enterprise .lc file outside the Licenses folder. It probably has "TmpEthernet" in the name. This way, License Manager would not be able to find an evaluation version license and I would expect the checkbox next to Enterprise to appear white after refresh. Then, the software would have to look toward the full license and no builds would be expiring.
This works, but is still leaves the possibility for the step to be forgotten and the software to fail shortly after delivery, which is obviously no good at all!  Please fix this!

    Thanks for the response Daniel,
The issue and behavior are a little different than your scenario. First, I don't add a reference to Analysis.Enterprise.dll.  I only use DLLs which my standard license covers.  However, if I had used Analysis.Enterprise.dll, there would be no build error.  When I activate Standard edition, the Enterprise trial remains active, and is not cancelled or superceded by the Standard edition license.
The process is similar to what you've described, though. I think that the evaluation period is longer than 7 days - I see that described at http://www.ni.com/mstudio/download/, but the manual at http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/350836e.pdf says on page 7 "Any applications you build with the Measurement Studio Evaluation package have a 30-day evaluation period.", which matches my experience.  The process goes like this:
I first install Visual Studio 2012, and license it.
Install Measurement Studio 2013 (2015 now!), which defaults to the Enterprise evaluation, licensing itwith my Standard serial number.  This is a part of the installation process: Download http://ftp.ni.com/evaluation/labview/ekit/other/downloader/MStudio2015_downloader.exe on a fresh install and click through, and you'll see that there's a screen in the installer which requests the serial number.  I enter it in this step; there's no reason for it to be licensed with the Enterprise trial at any time.
Then, I check out the application from our source control, and open it in Visual Studio.  The check out includes the DLLs:
    NationalInstruments.Common.dll
    NationalInstruments.DAQmx.dll
    NationalInstruments.MStudioCLM.dll
    NationalInstruments.NiLmClientDLL.dll
    NationalInstruments.UI.dll
    NationalInstruments.UI.Styles3D.dll
    NationalInstruments.UI.WindowsForms.dll
(note that Enterprise Analysis is not included) and the license file:

    NationalInstruments.UI.WindowsForms.Legend, NationalInstruments.UI.WindowsForms, Version=13.0.45.242, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=4febd62461bf11a4
(note that Enterprise Analysis is not included; these are the only UI components that the application used).  The project file references the DLLs in the project folder:

  • How can I get Measurement Studio out of Evaluation Mode in Windows XP

I have a licensed Measurement Studio version 7.1.  for Visual Studio 6.   I have been using this no problem on a Windows 2000 computer.   I installed this on my WindowsXP computer and it installs all the VB libraries put not the C++ libraries.  I message pops up stating that I need Service Pack3 for WindowsXP.    First of all, I don't think service pack 3 for Windows XP exists yet.  Luckily, I have been able to still use all my DataSocket components.  I believe Datasockets are part of Measurement Stuidio.   I notice that CWgraph has evaluation mode on the graph and I get a popup message in VB6 stating I'm using Measurement Studio in evaluation mode.

    Hello,
The service pack in question is not for Windows XP.  The Measurement Studio installer required the VC++ 6 service pack 3 or higher.  I know that Microsoft has a service pack 6 for Visual C++ 6, and this is what you should install to get the C++ libraries on your machine.
There is a tool on the CD that is in the ActiveXLicenseFixer folder that you can run to fix up the license.  If you have a valid license on the machine it will correct any licenseing issues.

  • Why does the Measurement Studio C Tutorial require a SHSQL.DLL?

Running the Measurement Studio C++ Tutorial the first time, I get a "requires SHSQL.DLL" error message on execution. I'm under NT 4.0, SP6. Visual Studio 6, SP5. Looking at the Microsoft site, they say SHSQL.DLL is a symbol handler for SQL. Why would a graphical control of a sine wave generator require SQL code at all? And if its truly required, where do I obtain this file?

This DLL must be required by MFC projects and should be installed with Visual Studio. I have no idea why you don't have it on your system, but it should be in the Visual Studio folder under Common\MSDev98\Bin. I attached my copy to this message (I'm using WinXP), but if that DLL is missing there is likely other missing files and issues. I would recommend reinstalling Visual Studio.
