Measuring point based PM

Team,
I am trying to create a measuring point based PM. The requierment is i am checking the wear of an equipment and if it goes below 50 mm, i want a notication to be created. I am sure the IMRC001 is activated in my client. I did the following process
1. Create IK01 measuring point.
2. Create IK11 measuring document
3. Create Tasklist
4. Create PM
But when i create the Plan in IP41, i still see the counter which exists for the equipment , but dont see the measuring point in the plan.
Am i missing something? Please guide me.
Thanks,
Nureya

Maheswaran
Thanks for the reply. Why should this wear measuring point should be a counter? I want this as measuring point and set the interval in extras...EX: If the wear is 48 -52 , the system should trigger a notication.
Are you saying, if I use user exit IMRC0001..I don't have to create a maintenance plan in IP41/IP42? Please confirm

  • Update measuring points by good receipt

    Hi experts,
I have a requirement where the client wants to update a measuring point based on good receipts.
The idea is to create a equipment (PRT) with a measuing point and asign this equipment on a BOM.
The FERT I will send to a vendor as subcontracting and when I receive this material, in the moment of good receipt the measuing point should be update. Is it possible using the standard ?
    Kind Regards,
    Bruno

    hi
in standard you can update the measuring points by confirming the quantities in production order..but updating the measuring points using goods receipt is difficult
you can also try a workaround ,generally the the MIC you are creating should be linked with the characteristic which is already created for equipment (as measuring point) ,then assign a material no in the serial number tab.then do the process ( i haven't checked just a try)
so prepare an inspection plan for goods receipt with the MIC created and make the settings for follow up action for usage decision as update measuring points(assign suitable FM) ,then do the process and check

  • Triggering of Preventive Maintenance based on Measuring Point

    Hi,
I have set measuring point & defined upper range limit and lower range limit. Now I want to trigger preventive maintenance, based on reading enter against measuring point specifically if measuring point reading is above or below defined upper range limit or lower range limit.
Letu2019s say example, If 10 and 5 is upper range limit and lower range limit, now in this case creation of notification / main order if user has enter measuring point value more than 10 or less than 5.

    Hi,
You can do it via Condition Based Maintenance ..
IMRC0001- U can use this User exit

  • How to  make Measuring Point Description Field scrollable on the Detail Read Screen

In the Measuring Point Read Detail Screen (Rounds Manager), the description field does not have a scroll bar like it does on the Point Read Counter Detail Screen.  This means that the end-user has to arrow-over to the right on the handheld device to see the entire description.  We changed the transaction property to be the same as that on the measuring point field on the Counter screen but that did not resolve the issue.  We are assuming that the field width is defined in columns but are not sure if columns is the same as pixels.  It seems like there is some type of behind the sceens calculation based on the number of pixels used by the characters in the description.  The transaction property does have word wrap activated but it seems to make no difference. Does anyone have any suggestions on what can be done to make the measuring point description have a scrollbar and have the description wrap?  The Rounds Server is version 2.3.

    2. you're not even asking a question. You're just saying "it doesn't work" and then you dump the code. What do you expect? • Measuring point and characteristics

what are the measuring points and characteristics to be created for the thermal power station , sap plant maintenance

    Hi,
Its based on the equipments in Power Station & Parameters to be measured for the Equipments. For example, for Boiler, Temperature, Pressure, Water Level, etc., will be measured.
So here we need to create Characteristics for all these. For Boilers, Measuring points will be created for these characteristics.
Equipments under Thermal Power stations could be Boilers, Transformers, Electric Generators, Coal Turbines, Condensers, etc., For each equipment, there will be different critical parameters to be measured on periodical basis.
Create Measuring points for all of them.

  • Measuring Point for Tools and Die Maintenance

    Dear All,
I am trying to map the following process:-
My client has 10 press machines and around 250 Dies for punching. Dies are assembled to press machines and they produce jobs by punching.
Client has an Preventive Maintenance plan for each Die in terms of number of strokes punched by an Die. for e.g PM is done after every 300000, 600000, 900000, 1200000 strokes. Estimated life is 1200000.
What they want is when production person confirms the production order say for 10000 jobs the counter of the die should increase by 10000.......and so on. When the counter reaches 300000 preventive maintenance call should be scheduled.
What i have done is created an Die as an Equipment with PRT as equipment category. Created an measuring point for that Die, assined Usage formula etc.
I have created an Maintenance plan for that die in which i have assigned the strategy (IP11) which contains the stroke cycles 300000, 600000.........etc.
Assigned the Die as a PRT to the material which is to be produced in the Routing.
When i confirm the production order the counter of the PRT increases which i can check IK13.
What i am expecting is that in IP10 system should update the counter automatically so that when the counter reaches to 300000 maintenance call wil be scheduled and order will be generated.
I would request you to please give me some input on this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rashmi

    Hello Rashmi;
I have seen the screen shots & there are problems with the following:
    1) Counter overflow reading
You have entered 130;  keep it as- 999999 (it is the reading after which system starts counting from 0 value)
    2) Formula that you have used;
You have used the formula- SAPF02; do not use this. Create you own formula with following details: SAPF99 (new formula)  = SAP_20 * SAP_09
    3) You have manually entered the reading for the measuring point; do not use it. System will calculate the measurement reading from PRT usage value.
CREATE a single measuring document with reading as '0'.
    4) Also in CA01; you need to assign this PRT in routing with "EQUIPMENT" & not material. Also make sure that in the same screen (assignment of PRT- basic data) maintain usage value as 1 (if this is not maintained, measuring doc. will NOT be updated).
    5) Now when you confirm the production order, based on number of units created; system will automatically create the measuring doc.
If there is any problem with CA01, CO01 or CO11n; ask your PP consultant to assist.
Do let me know if there is any problem in this.

  • Measuring point/document is not updating

    Dear all,
I am  new in PM. I have one issue over here.Measuring point/document is not updating automatically after production order confirmation via co11n . I tried with following steps
    1) Created the equipment as (P)Production resources/tools -->created measuring point as a counter ---> maintain the usage value formula SAPF02 in the PRT tab . Unit of measurement for the characteristics and base unit of measure of material are same
    2) Then i have assigned this equipment as a PRT in the routing of material .
    3) Production order confirmation via co11n  Each unit
Which steps i am missing. if u give me steps by steps procedure to me for counter based maintenance, its helpful for me.
STILL not answered and no reply.
    I am waiting for reply.
    Thanks

  • Measuring Point & Counter

    Hi PM Gurus,
Can you tell me about the performance based maitenance :
    1. Measuring Point (M.P.)
    2.Counter
What are the characterstic units come under the Measuring Point.is it right that only we can give upper and lower limit in M.P not in counters. Also User exit is only created for MP not for counter.
What are the basic difference between Measuring Point & Counter.
In both the cases is it necessary to select counter tick mark or only in case of counter ?Is there is any difference while generating the plan
    Regards,
    RC

    Hi Raju,
    You can do this through,
IMG - Maintenance Plan, work center, task list & PRTS - Maintenance Plan - Set maintenance plan catagories.
Here in call object column you can define which type of call object you want for your maintenance order based on this you will get the order or notification as a call object.
And rest of the things measuring point & counter that already defined in this thread.

  • Measuring Point in Maintenance Plan

How can I link a measuring point (not a counter) to the Maintenance Plan?
Currently, I can only link a counter to a Maintenance Plan but not a measuring point.
The reason why I am asking for this is that I would like to trigger automatic creation of a work order whenever a measurement reading for an equipment goes outside the specified upper and lower limit of a measuring point.  I would like to define a condition in the maintenance plan for this based on the measuring point say for example temperature.
I believe activating userexit IMRC0001 is just part of the solution.  Is there something else that needs to be done?
    Thanks.
    Giscard

    I have already activated userexit.
Is it correct that the userexit is triggered upon saving a measurement reading (tcode IK11)?
Do you have sample code for the userexit so that a Notification or Work Order will automatically be created when the reading entered is outside the upper and lower limit?
But my questions actually is this - Is possible to link a measurement point (not a counter) to a Maintenance Plan?

  • Upper Limit - Lower Limit in Measuring Points

    Dear PM Experts,
In my company we have an Equipment where the temperature of it has to be maintained in a certain range. if the temperature falls out side the range the maintenance team has to attend. In SAP I registered this point as a measuring point. And I'm aware of the fact that we can maintain Upper and Lower Limits of reading for a measuring point in SAP.
But I want SAP to automatically create a PM Notification/Order once the user enters a value out side the above specified range. I know that this is possible with conters when the reading reaches a certain value. But couldn't figure out a method for the latter.
    Please provide me a solution.
    Rgds
    Deepal

    Hello Deepal;
You will have to activate exit: IMRC0003.
Then you'll have to create a maintenance plan, maintaining the equipment & the measuring point. Based on the call object: order/ notification- system will automatically trigger the object when the actual reading falls outside the specified range.
    Hope this helps.

  • Question about Measuring Point / Couter

    Dear PM Guru,
While creating my Maintenance Plan with tcode -IP42 , there's counter automatically appear in the plan.
I under this counter is from measuring point.
I am confuse with the Counter in all this tcode IP41 , IP42 & IP01.
    My question are :
Is this measuring point / counter master data or technical object ?
Where's the relationship for counter in Maintenance plan ?
Any impact the counter with the cycles used in the item line?
What 's the different between IP01 vs IP41 vs IP42?
Appreciate your input from any PM Guru.
    TQ

    Hi Venu,
    Thank for your reply.
Understand that In Performance-based Maintenance Plan, SAP automatically links Counter to the Maintenance Plan.
After my personal investigation , fully understand that only performance based maintenance plan are using counter. Normal Maintenance Order will not use counter as Master data.
    Example Performance Based Plans :
When the measuring point counter reaches 3000 -1st  order should get generated
2nd one at 6000, 3 rd one at 9000 etc...
    Or
    1. Single Cycle with counter -- Ex . Maintenance every 3000 hrs
    2. Strategy Cycle plans.. -- Ex. Maintenance every 3000 hrs and every 6000hrs
    3. Multiple Counter Plans..-- Ex Maintenance every 2month  or 1year..
    Process Flow.
Create equipment with suitable measuring point (inc annual estimate) with Tcode IK01 create measuring point
Create initial counter reading measurement document
Create task list (optional for single-cycle plan)
    Create counter based maintenance plan
    Scheduling maintenance plan (IP10/IP30)
    Create measurement documents periodically
    Little Question to ask.
    1) Is this the SAP standard flow ?
Please correct me if i am wrong.
    Thank you.

  • Workflow regarding Measuring Point

    Hi All,
Can anyone help me : when measuring point value is outside the tolerance limits, Notification must be created to the responsible department. The SAP workflow should then be activated to send the notification object to the outlook inbox.
Can anyone help me in this. I am not able to understand this functionality what exactely to be done.

    Hi RM,
why dont you create a start condition for the WF to trigger,
i do not have idea about your BOR, but if you you want your WF to trigger based on some condition, then i suggest the above.
    Hope it helps.

  • Measuring points tab repeating the point no for different selection.

I have selected one entry list and enter into points tab to see the corresponding measuring point .
Then select one equipment which already in the entry lists tab for an ad hoc entry.  In this case ‘B-781-A-001’
Now the points tab repeating the points no (below screen shot) which should not be the case it should be sync with the existing points . Even I select one point to take reading it’s only completing the selected one not the similar point in the points tab.
Please suggest how to solve this data repetition problem.

    Hi Ranjoy,
I have updated your tags with the correct information (you will get more responses now).  Please use the tags in the future.  In some communities with narrowly focused topics, they are not as important as they are in SAP for Mobile.  This community receives questions on SUP, SMP, Afaria, Agentry, HWC, MBO, Kapsel, Cordova, SAPUI5, and other technologies.  While I suspected that yours was an Agentry based application, it was not too unlikely that it could have been something else.

  • Measurement point and counter SAP PM

    Hi SAP Guru
I've one scenario in which we've to input counter reading smaller than the previous reading
and some times bigger reading than previous reading for a single counter.
It is because single counter is for Energy Meter which sometimes shows bigger value and sometimes shows lesser value in case of shutdown at plant.
Please let me know asap - is it possible for a single counter to accept bigger value one time and next time smaller value ?
We can't make two counters for a single equipment.
    Regards
    Pooja

Try using the counter as a measurement point.   Unclick the box measurement point is a counter and set the upper and lower tolerance settings on the details page.  The meter is not a counter but a gage.  as long as the gage reads between the upper and lower tolerances you are good.     If the gage reads out of tolerance designate a warning or an error.  You can also set it up through a user exit to produce a notification or a work order for out of tolerance readings.  See Condition Based Maintenance. -Rich
