Measuring Point for Tools and Die Maintenance
Dear All,
I am trying to map the following process:-
My client has 10 press machines and around 250 Dies for punching. Dies are assembled to press machines and they produce jobs by punching.
Client has an Preventive Maintenance plan for each Die in terms of number of strokes punched by an Die. for e.g PM is done after every 300000, 600000, 900000, 1200000 strokes. Estimated life is 1200000.
What they want is when production person confirms the production order say for 10000 jobs the counter of the die should increase by 10000.......and so on. When the counter reaches 300000 preventive maintenance call should be scheduled.
What i have done is created an Die as an Equipment with PRT as equipment category. Created an measuring point for that Die, assined Usage formula etc.
I have created an Maintenance plan for that die in which i have assigned the strategy (IP11) which contains the stroke cycles 300000, 600000.........etc.
Assigned the Die as a PRT to the material which is to be produced in the Routing.
When i confirm the production order the counter of the PRT increases which i can check IK13.
What i am expecting is that in IP10 system should update the counter automatically so that when the counter reaches to 300000 maintenance call wil be scheduled and order will be generated.
I would request you to please give me some input on this.

I have seen the screen shots & there are problems with the following:
1) Counter overflow reading
You have entered 130; keep it as- 999999 (it is the reading after which system starts counting from 0 value)
2) Formula that you have used;
You have used the formula- SAPF02; do not use this. Create you own formula with following details: SAPF99 (new formula) = SAP_20 * SAP_09
3) You have manually entered the reading for the measuring point; do not use it. System will calculate the measurement reading from PRT usage value.
CREATE a single measuring document with reading as '0'.
4) Also in CA01; you need to assign this PRT in routing with "EQUIPMENT" & not material. Also make sure that in the same screen (assignment of PRT- basic data) maintain usage value as 1 (if this is not maintained, measuring doc. will NOT be updated).
5) Now when you confirm the production order, based on number of units created; system will automatically create the measuring doc.
If there is any problem with CA01, CO01 or CO11n; ask your PP consultant to assist.

Regarding to the "centralized maintenance", Windows 7 has a built-in maintenance service, performs common maintenance tasks in Windows, just lauch Action Center, you will find it.

Measuring Points for Equipment
Hi-
I have a req., where in I need to capture the Measuring Points for a given Equipment, but there might be more than one measurement points(Milage, Hours, Days etc.,) So, How should I capture them? What is the best bet?
I I do it on Equip. Master(Time Dependent) I'm thinking it will have multiple columns with same Euip.,
Is ODS the best bet?
Any idea appreciated.

You just want to capture measuring points or you wnat to capture, measurment documents against these measuring points also?
In case of measuring point, it is a master data and hence an info object/ODS both can suit. If you want to have ODS, then you should keep Measuring point also in to the key fields..
In case of measurment documents ODS will be the best fit.

Measure Formulae for Uploadable and Data collection report

I have query related to application of measure Formula for Uploadable and Data collection report.
Consider a scenario where i use a MDX query to create a data collection report and I map these columns from these reports to an rowsource using a loader file. Can I use measure formula feature like onchange to work with Uploadable and Data colection reports such that changes to any one column should take effect in another column.

IOP uploadable reports are used for sending data to the server in batch. They are coupled to the IOP model via a rowsource. You have a lot of flexibility with the spreadsheet you build for staging the upload. It's really just a function of how crafty you are with vb. Cascading changes from one column to another can be easily accomplished this way.
Onchange formulas are for something else. They are part of the model definition and are used for describing how to cascade changes between IOP data blocks. -

User set cliping points for Highlight and Shadow
OK I know Lightroom 3 is currently available as a Beta version and is not complete and there may be more features to come.
But
Wouldn't it be nice in the develop module to set the point at which you get clipping warnings for highlight and shadow.
I ask this as a lot of my work goes straight out for repro, and it would be usefull to be able to set the highlight to say 90-95% and the shadow to about 15-20%.
OK I know I can run a tool over the image and see what the percentage is, but it would be a lot esier if I could set my own limits and just watch for the red and blue "blobs"

John cI too find the FTP server implementation to be sorely lacking in OS X Server. There is no option to share out only the designated FTP root folder without showing the other share points. It seems impossible to lock down subdirectories to specific users with letting them see the contents of the root directory. Maddening!
I'm looking at other FTP server options. Rumpus comes highly recommended, but I also just found CrushFTP which also looks intriguing, especially its option to integrate with LDAP - something that Rumpus does not do. CrushFTP is also significantly less expensive.

To find the user exit,
1. Goto the tarnsaction say MIRO.
2. Click on System and In that status.
3. Double click on the Program screen Which is under SAP data.
4. In that Program, Click on GOTO and find the package name. (It is MRM for MIRO Transaction).
5. Go to SMOD.
6. In the enhancement field click f4.
7. give the package name and execute and you will find list of User exits.

Measuring point for Power Factor Meter
Dear All Experts,
I need to create PF meter as Measuring Point.
I have created characteristic PF without any unit of measure assigned to it since PF is a ratio.
Now if I create Measuring point using characteristic PF system does not allow me to create the same popping up message" only characterisitcs with a unit of measure can be used."
Then I created a unit as Ratio and assigned to the Characteristic PF.
Even then system does not allow me to create measuring point popping up the same message.
Please help.

You could create the Measuring Point only with the characteristics with Numeric UoM. So create the ratio with Numeric UoM & try the same.

Measurement mark for start and stop interval
I have added measurement mark as Start interval and Stop Interval and saving that in the Time interval measure as indicator for BAM in my BPM Process.
This is to calculate the time it takes to finish some task. e.g.
A. process is started
B. Start Interval measurement mark is added and saved in measure BAM indicator
C. some task takes places.
D. Stop Interval measurement mark is added and saved in measure BAM indicator
But, when I create the report, the measure indicator doesn't have any value.
I think I am doing something wrong, but don't know what.
Has any one done this or come across this situation.

My application development steps are as follows:
1. My application consists of three control buttons are Start, Stop & Exit
2. Initially input parameters validation (Limits are assigned)
3. If any value entered out of limit, it will show the error message and the start button will gray and disabled. The user should not start the application until entered values are valied.
4. Internally some conversions and logics are implimented.
5. Coming to Front panel (GUI) start button is green color and stop button is red color.
6. The user entered the correct parameters and he started the appilication. After sometime he should know already application was started and he should not start again until he stops the appilcation.
For this i need logic for start and stop buttons to implement in my application. Thats why i choosen the traffic light concept changing the colors vice versa (which button shows green he should press that perticular button).
Please suggest me or provide any better option for start and stop buttons.

Different measurements between ruler tool and marquee tool?
I'm using Photoshop Extended CS 5
Why are there two different measurements?
I positioned guides on an image for measuring purposes. I have Snap to Guides on. I used the Ruler Tool snapping to one guide and I extended a straight line to the other guide (Shift key pressed). The Ruler Tool read 712 pixels.
I then used the Marquee tool to snap to the guides and it read 720 pixels.

Where? In the Info panel? If so, did you read the W (width), and not the X (horizontal pixel position)?
I just did what you said and got consistent measurements.

Unit of Measure(UOM) for PO and Packing

we have got issue about UOM for Purchase order and Packing.
When we create PO with vendor then we use UOM is set for example: sofa.
but when we GR from Vendor the storekeeper check artice follow UOM is Set. (packing).

Basing on your post - your stock keeping unit is SET.
Purchase order is SOFA.
Go to material master and maintain basic UOM as SET and Order unit as SOFA.
Whenever you are raising PO using this material, the PO UOM will be SOFA. Maintain the conversion factors if applicable.
One more way in PR - Source of supply tab you can mention purchase organization and order unit as SOFA (this wihthout making changes in material master). But everytime create PR indentor has to pay attention towards this entry.

Solution for dead and dying Bretford carts
I teach 7th grade social studies at a middle school in SC with 360 iTouches and more than 100 iPads. We use what I believe is the first generation Bretford cart to charge and sync groups of 40 (20 per drawer). At the beginning of the year one of our carts simply had no power to either drawer. I have followed the trouble shooting tips of plugging and unplugging power supply cables. I even replaced the main power supply cable with a cart that was functioning. The only "electrical" components appear to be where the USB cables gather inside the drawer and a junction box that splits the power for the two drawers.
I am looking for suggestions for repair or replacement.
The warranty is out on the cart and Bretford's suggestion is to ship it back to them. That does not make a lot of sense. Currently, I am using four brand new 12-port usb hubs to charge and sync our dead cart. But these have already started having issues. I am getting error messages that sycning and charging are not supported on the device.
Does anyone have any suggestions for either repairing the Bretford cart or a proven, reliable replacement?I cannot find the solution to this Bretford cart in the forum; can someone direct me to the answer? I have a similar problem but it specifically is related not to the power to the cart but to the USB cable going to the lower drawer which apparently was torn by a user (it has only one end with the USB connection; the other is torn wire). I need to replace it but don't know if this is possible. Does anyone know? There is no obvious way to take the cart apart to even get to the metal "box" in the drawer where the other end of the USB cable would go. Any suggestions?
