Media application folders do not show up

Question

I just changed the microSD card and put a larger capacity one onto my Curve 8900.
When I checked to the Media application forlders, it only showed one folder, Music folder.
It used to have five forlders; Music, Pictures, Videos, Ring Tones and Voice Notes.
Why did it happen and how to fix it?

Not exactly. First you make sure that these directories really exist on the card connecting it to the computer. If they do then they should be indexed after you start/reboot your phone. To do that find the Icon Media, click it. If it goes ok, then you will see the scrolling bar at the bottom of the screen. Wait until it goes away. It can take a long time, say, 5-10 minutes if you use a large capacity card. I'm using 16 GB Class 6 A-Data card, it's extremely fast, almost full, excluding ~100 MBytes or so, and it takes a very long time to reindex it. I guess RIM should fix this issue. If I just reboot the phone it should not reindex the entire database, especially keeping in mind that the media engine creates hidden bb dat files in each directory having media files. So rereading all of them or even better - creating a large file with all these files inside, should be much faster. But ok, we have what we have. Here is one more trap although. If the directory name or the file name is too long, then the entire directory or even the whole branch can fall out from being indexed. As a result you will be able to Explore these files, but they will not be accessible through the Media Manager, which creates the groups of artists, disks, styles, etc., etc. I spetted on these rakes several times and to get the bad file name I had to restart the phone several times, adding my directories step by step to get which one is not accepted. Also keep in mind that if you have other languages installed you will be able to keep the file names in these languages. The same works for MP3 tag info. P.S. I'm waiting for 32GB cards to put my entire library there, 16GB is stil not enough space for it, especially if we add a few video files, even the short ones. Btw, the customer support was not able to answer me what is the maximum numbe of directory levels or the total path/file name length acepted by BB8900. If anyone knows please post this info here.
