Media based deployment for Refresh and New Computer

Hi ,
I am looking for some pointers for using media based deployment for refresh scenario (xp to Win 7 with USMT) and new computer deployment (without OS).
Setup we have is Configuration manager 2012 R2 integrated with MDT 2013.
I need some pointers on below:
- Since its winxp to win 7 and its boot images that comes with (ADK 8.1) confi. manager 2012 R2 doesn't support it. Article says we need WINPE 3.1 for such scenario. Since its MDT 2013 (again ADK 8.1 boot images only), how do generate WinPE 3.x for
MDT based boot image?
- Since it is going to be 2 deployment scenarios, do i need to have 2 separate TS (one for new computer and 2nd for USMT based deployment for refresh scenaro) or is there anyway to manage both scenarios with 1 TS?
- If we need to have 2 TS, do we need to have 2 media created or 1 media can have both TS (like in MDT we have selectionprofile with multiple TS and then media created including both TS)

Standard or Pro would be licensed through your serial number, the download link and downloaded file would be the same for both of them.
Pro or Standard would be determined after you put in your serial number.

Availability of Win 10 Drivers for *Current* and *New* Systems

I was wondering if there is any timeframe for posting Windows 10 drives for *Current* and *New* Systems. I notice that there are only like 3 drivers posted so far for the X360 laptops. Even the brand new models which come with Windows 10 preinstalled still have only a smattering of drivers posted. Obviously the drivers exist since the system ships with them installed, why can't they be posted for download? I can understand driver availability taking some time for systems that didn't ship with Win 10, but for those systems that ship with Win 10 already loaded shouldn't those drivers be available to your customers on the the very first day of product shipment? In case you are wondering why it matters if it comes preinstalled already, it's because I plan on doing new, clean install of Win 10 Professional. Your systems are shipping with the Home edition. I have an X360 that is still being sold and shipping with 8.1. I would walk into Best Buy today and buy another one that comes with Windows 10, but won't do that until drivers are available so I can do a clean install. Thanks.

Move the content from the old computer to the new computer.
Sync the iPhone via cable to the new computer and enable Wi-Fi syncing.
It should now be possible to sync via Wi-Fi to the new computer.

Having changed computers and now wishing to complete download of material already purchased, and watch material on the new computer, what is the process for verifying the new computer as able to access, download and watch that material?

All I need is advice on how to register a new computer for using old material and material that was only half downloaded.

How to move to Photoshop Elements and new computer

Hi, I've been using Photoshop Elements for several years, but am new to the forum. I recently got a new Windows 7 computer and moved all my files, including photos, using a Windows 7 migration cable. I was using Photoshop Elements 6 on my old Windows XP computer and want to upgrade to Photoshop Elements 8 on the new computer. How do I get my catalog into PE8? Based on what I'm seeing in the posts on this forum, I'm thinking that I've gone about this the wrong way. It looks like maybe I should delete my photo files from the new computer, then install PE8 on the old computer, do a backup in PE8, and restore the backup on the new computer in PE8. Does this make sense, or can someone suggest a better way to do this? Thanks for your help.

That is definitely the most reliable method. You're changing three things at once: new computer, new version of Windows, new version of PSE. The catalog conversion process (upgrading to a new version of PSE) and backup/restore are both fairly buggy, so it's wise to do one step at a time to make troubleshooting and workarounds much easier. It's also better to use the most recent (less buggy) PSE 8 to make the backup, rather than PSE 6.
People are tempted to take a shortcut on this and try to use PSE 8 on the new computer from a PSE 6 backup. That will often work, but when it doesn't, they then waste a lot more time trying to make it work. As the Car Talk Guys used to say, "It's the cheapskate who pays the most."

New Ipod and new computer-how to transfer

I just got the new ipod video and had the 20gb. I now have a new computer and new ipod. How do I transfer my songs to my new ipod and computer?

If you transfer your library from the PC to the Mac, and then plug in your new ipod to the new Mac, a question will pop up asking you whether you want this computer's library to be transferred to the iPod. Click Yes, and it will start synching with whatever is in the library.
You can also use some programs, like "Senuti" (for mac, freeware) to rip off the contents FROM your iPod TO your new Mac. I personally like Senuti since it has an iTunes-like interface except in reverse.

Sync applications problem with 3GS and new computer

Hopefully someone can help me out. I am trying to sync my fiancee's 3GS to our new Dell laptop that has Windows 7. I had no problem syncing and updating my 3GS with the same computer last night, I updated to the 4.0 last night on my phone. I then tried to update her phone. It asked me to backup and sync all data prior to updating. I was able to back up and sync contacts and photos without a problem. I tried to transfer the applications; and now I keep receiving this message: "Some of the purchased items on iPhone could not be transferred to your iTunes library because you are not authorized for them on this computer." I certainly authorized the computer; thinking that might be the problem, I deauthorized and reauthorized the computer successfully (It says that I have one out of 5 possible computers authorized). That did not solve the issue. I researched into the topic; and now my brain hurts. One of the threads requested to disable the automatic sync when the iPhone is connected to the computer. I reset the settings, powered down the iPhone and exited out of iTunes; rebooted and still no success. I am getting frustrated but do not want to erase all of her applications and buy them again. This message is applying to both free and purchased applications. When I look at the applications page on iTunes; all of her program icons are apparent. I am not an iPhone genius, but I read that the new computer has never recognized the phone and the sync will go from computer to phone (if I understood correctly). Does that mean I need to reinstall iTunes and start from scratch with this computer; or is there a solution? Both of our phones were rarely synced with our old laptop; but I worry that syncing with that computer will only further complicate the situation. Without transferring the applications, I am hesitant to update the phone to 4.0 and the new carrier settings. Do I just let the computer try to transfer the applications it allows and then lose my apps and do the update? I don't want to do that unless that is my only choice. Please help me!

I just got an IPhone4 - Gave My IPhone3 to husband.
We ended up hsving to set up two login users on the PC (not sure how to do that) and then two seperate ITunes accounts, one for each of us.

Complicated- No original Adobe Photoshop Software Info for transferring to new computer...

Ok, so in 2009 my father bought me a new computer (Acer, PC) and had his personal tech guy add Adobe Photoshop. Unfortunately, he never informed me of the Photoshop software, nor did I receive the CD installation or any other form of documentation and so I only recently discovered the Photoshop software while trying to transfer files to my newer laptop (Dell, PC). Now I'm just trying to figure out what my options are for getting the software information and having it transferred to my new laptop without any of the installation software. The old laptop (Acer, PC) barely works but I can access Photoshop, so if there is info on it I can provide to help with helping me with this issue, please request. Thank you so much for your reply and help...wish I'd read it before using the Chat help. Just finished communications with someone through the Chat Help and had to disconnect to find the S/N. Now that I have it I can't seem to re start the open case Chat thing to finish getting the help I need. Regarding the info you gave me after stating I need the S/N I am completely lost and confused on. I have no idea how to figure out if its running in trial mode or if I'm the one it's licensed to. Though I'm pretty sure it's licensed to me. When I've tried registering PS on the older laptop it tells me its registered but when I look for it online it's not there. I shut down PS and reopen it and it asks me to go through the registration process again. Which I've done several times with no other results. I'm sorry, I'm new to all this and am at a loss as to how I'm supposed to proceed...

New iPad and new computer

I just got a new iPad but haven't synced my old one to my new computer, I don't get new computers often so I forgot how do u change ur iPad from one computer to the other while keeping all of the app data

There is much more to it than authorizing the computer.
Can you transfer the iTunes library from the old computer to the new one? That would be the ideal approach to take. If you can't do that, you have to make the new computer your "home computer" with your old iPad first. You need to transfer all content from the old iPad to the new iTunes library, backup and then sync.
This explains how to transfer the content from the old iPad into iTunes. Bear in mind that this works for iTunes purchased content only. If you have music that was imported from CD's or photos on the old iPad, you will need a third party app to transfer those items. Look at an app called TouchCopy in order to transfer those items.

1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.
After you have done all of this - you can connect the new iPad to your computer and when iTunes starts - you will be given the option to restore from the backup or set up as new. You want to restore from the backup and then follow that with a sync with iTunes.
