Hi...
I'm trying to find a way to display everything on my most current blog entry on the home page of my site. I've figured out how to have the entire large photo and all the text for the blog entry come up on the home page, but I am specifically trying to find out how to show other stuff. For example, on a recent entry I used the html snippet widget to insert a video from YouTube on my blog entry. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to get that to also show up on my homepage as part of that particular blog entry.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Bug in iPhoto 6? Blank images in edit and slideshows

Hi...
Have read a few threads on this topic, and it seems to be widespread. The usual helpful comments are made, but I really don't think that this has anything to do with something that the users are doing (e.g. copying libraries, moving libraries, etc..). Also, it seems to be happening to a number of people in exactly the same way, since iPhoto 6 was launched.
I have been using iPhoto since the beginning, have about 40,000 files in several libraries, and I have never seen anything like this.
The problem is that out of several hundred images in an individual library (uncopied, and not edited at the finder level or anywhere but iPhoto), a few of them are blank when you view them in edit mode or in a slideshow. This seems to be some sort of internal iPhoto corruption, and not related to the photos themselves (same camera and computer hardware that I have been using for years).
Also, the images themselves seem to be OK. When you export them from iPhoto to the desktop and open them in Preview or Photoshop, they are fine, and when you reimport them into iPhoto, they seem OK too.
Obviously, this is a big problem, and even though I can workaround for a single photo, I can't be doing this on an ongoing basis for all of my shots..
Anyone have any ideas? Is there a way to submit this question to Apple directly?

I foolishly tried this on a separate Mac on a different library, that one with 22000 images that I had not edited (since the old iPhoto would just die a slow death on that sized library).
I actually only spent the money for iPhoto 6 (iLife's remainder package did not have any compelling use for me right now) and its ability to handle 25000 images.
Well, it is faster (i.e. it does not go to sleep for 12 minutes) if I click the scroll button but the blank images problem showed up there also. And ALL of those pictures were standard jpgs and not one was from a weird camera or ever modified or otherwise tweaked if that were an excuse for iPhoto 6 misbehaving with some pictures.
VERY annoying and very strange that they would not see this in Beta testing. Assuming they do test. So, folks, if you are planning to buy iLife for iPhoto, be forewarned. I will add this to my TO BUY OR NOT TO BUY blog entries at http://imran.com/media/blog/ so people are aware.

Captions and no captions with multiple slideshows (a bug in idvd 6?)

Hi,
I am having a problem with the captions option in multiple slideshows, and am wondering if this a bug within idvd 6. My project has two slideshows which I created within idvd because I wanted the manual option of forwarding through your slides on tv. I have one slideshow with captions selected and the other has captions deselected. Both slideshows preview correctly in idvd, but when I burn the dvd to a disk, I either get both slideshows with captions or both without. The only way around this was to select captions for both slideshows and then manually delete the captions out of the slideshow that I didn't want them to appear. Is this a known glitch with idvd 6?

Why can't I export my movie to any format or save it anywhere out of FCPX?

I have done it many times before however this time round, it will not let me export my project. I desperately need to export it to YouTube or Vimeo so that I can upload it to my A Level Media Blog.
I have Rendered All selection as I usually do, then went Share > Export Movie... but no screen comes up. I've also tried Share > to Youtube and Vimeo. Filled in my password etc and then the following appears on my screen:
I'm not entirely experienced with FCPX by the way. Somebody please help me!

Can Not Delete Event Sent by Organizer

Ok, I have an odd and annoying problem.
There are a ton of repeated events in iCal in Dec/Jan (all the same event repeated). I can not delete them as it says "Only the organizer can change this event". Furthermore...
They are now syncing with the iphone but there is no "Delete" button there (as it was sent by someone else).
How can I get rid of these?

According to iCal Help "If you can’t change an event or calendar:"
"If you were invited to an event, you can change only your status for the event, the calendar where the event appears, and the event alarm."

FMLE + shure x2u on mac

Hi everyone,
Here is an help for those who had the same problem : FMLE mac doesn't recognize the shure x2u, although mac os recognise it properly.
The solution is to create an aggregate device (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1215) which includes the shure x2u, and the aggregate is then recognised by fmle...

IPad Mini or iPad 3 for a Student Journalist/Blogger ?

Seeing the iPad Mini made me wonder if it would be a more affordable better choice. I am a third year university student currently taking a hiatus off uni for about four to five months. In this period I would like to build my portfolio as a writer and blooger.
The thing is I am new to writing and do not know what functions I would need exactly in a tablet.
Thing I will need to be able to do with it
Take quick notes when interviewing people
Take pictures/video (decent quality for blogs)
tweet
upload media
Blog (wordpress.com)
Watch movies (sometimes)
I will not be using it to do wordprosessing, e.g writing full articles on my blog.
The iPad Mini seems much more affordable but the retina display of the fourth generation iPad is pretty attractive too.
Another question I have how do I decide if I would need 4G cellular coverage or a simple wifi system. I do use the internet on the go, but what is the average cost of using the data sims in SIngapore? (I am currently overseas but moving back to Singapore on Monday)
Are these data plans on pre-paid too ?
If I install pages onto my macbook pro, does it automatically install pages into the iPad or would I have to buy another version for the ipad?
Would love to hear from you guys, to see what you think I should pick..

Since you don't plan to wordprocess, I would go for the mini. However, using a Bluetooth keyboard, I find wordprocessing to be equal to a laptop. You could use the Apple BT keyboard with the mini.
Wait and buy the iPad in your home country. Otherwise you will likely have warranty issues of Apple requiring you to send the iPad to the country of purchase.
Data plans differ by cellular company. You would need to inquire in the country where you intend to use the iPad. Some prepaid SIM cards include cellular data.
Pages for the Mac is not for iOS. If you want Pages on the iPad you must buy the iOS version seperately.

IWeb freezing up for no good reason

I've been using iWeb for quite a while and I really love it. I have two domain files, one for one site and one for another. I double-click the one I want to work on and everything works great.
...up till very recently.
Now when I double click the domain file iWeb loads, my site is there, everything looks great and I have about 30 seconds to a minute to do whatever I want to the site (add pages, write text, place images, whatever) and then iWeb just stops responding. I can't get to do anything after about 30 sec. or a minute. I end up clicking the icon on the dock and selecting "Force Quit". If I manage to save before it locks up my edits are there ... if not, of course they are not there.
This is driving me crazy ... and I'm no Mac newby, I write for O'Reilly Media's Digital Media blog and thier Inside Aperture blog ... so you'd think I could figure this one out, but I am stumped.
Anyone have any ideas?
I'm on a MacPro with all the bells and whistles ... All other programs run fine. I'm totally without a clue on this one.

I'm also having a problem with iWeb freezing. I have one site with 8 pages published. When I tried to add a 9th page with 99 photos (which is the limit per page with iWeb) the program freezes when I go to publish the page. It happens every time. I then have to force quit and try again. And when I do, it freezes again.
Any ideas?

When I try to add javascript (or activex) in posts in WSS 3.0 blog module, sharepoint delete js code. Do you know if a solution exist ?

Media files are published to blog with the wrong hostname

Hi there,
I've changed the hostname of my server and everything is working correctly with the wiki/blog server but when I submit a podcast producer job, although the job finishes without error, the media that's embedded on the page still has the old hostname as the url.
This works internally (as it's the computer name) but I can't see the poster frame or the video externally.
Is there a file somewhere I can tinker with to change this?
Where is the value for this set?

There was nothing for it but to rebuild the server, though it was quicker and less painful than I remember it being before.

Os X Server 10.6.7 media in default blog won't play in Internet Explorer.

I use the default web blog function in os x server to post some tunes I made in Garageband for my friends and family to check out. These media files do not play in Internet Explorer, even when QuickTime is loaded on those computers.
I have resorted to using my old trusty eMac running 10.4.11 Server to host my tunes now, and it's no problem. They play on Windows IE 9, and 8 no issue. Even Windows Media Player handles the tunes without installing QT.
Kind of frustrating when my $50 Apple eMac is doing what I want my $$$$ Mac Pro to do!!
Are there in fixes for this problem? It seems to have occurred in a recent update.
Hopefully Lion Server addresses this issue. I don't use PC's too often, but most of the world does and I would like for people with that configuration to be able to hear my music without having to load Safari and QT.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Ok the problem its like that: i have 1 mac mini with 10.6.5 and itunes 10.1 and all videos work perfect, but in my macbook pro with 10.6.5 and itunes 10.1 too, some doesn't doesn't work, its not a problem of purchased videos or not, i think that the problem is about codecs or DRM cause i connect my macbookpro to a TV via HDMI and since then some videos didn't work.
if you put get info in the video that doesn't work, there is only the info at left and there is some info miss at right like : profile, channels, total video rate, video dimensions and video codec.
Desperately looking for a fix any help will aprecciate it

Is the clip only in your Event Library in iMovie?
You need to create a Project (File > New Project).
Then move the clip into the project, do any edits and you should be able to Share your Project to Media Browser.

Media is not showing up on my wiki/blog server

I have recently setup a server running 10.5 and running Podcast Producer. I have created a wiki/blog page and created several groups. I have attempted to use Podcast Capture to post videos, files and presentations to the webpage but the files never show up on the page. I can find them in the Podcast folder on the server but they don't show up on the group webpage. What am I doing wrong? I have seen it done before, I'm just not sure what I'm missing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
