Media Browser doesn't refresh Aperture images

This just started happening recently. The old behaviour was -- iWeb is already open, I open Aperture, add images, and the media browser in iWeb would pick up the new images within a few seconds.
Now the only way I can get the media browser to show the new images is to exit and restart iWeb.
Any way to get the automatic media browser refresh working again?

Have you tried reapplying the following:
iLife Media Browser Update
iLife Support 9.0.3

  • Media browser doesn't show Aperture but shows long-uninstalled iPhoto?!?

    hi,
Now that 3.0.1 seems to have solved most of my problems I can finally concentrate on the details.
My media browser in iLife, iWork and mail.app gives me a choice between photos from Photo Booth and iPhoto. The weird thing is, when I select iPhoto it tells me that iPhoto 5 or higher should be installed, which it isn't as I haven't used iPhoto for years (and never on this computer). And, more importantly, Aperture is missing.
I have already deleted the iApps plist, restarted a couple of times, repaired permissions a quarter of a million times in the last few days, and none of it helped.
I know this is an issue that has popped up more often in this forum and for which a definite solution hasn't yet been found, but I'm hoping the iPhoto part may shine a new light on it allowing somebody smarter than I to solve this.
Thanks in advance. Oh, and thanks to the entire forum for what they did in the last few days. So many great tips and solutions were given by so many people.

    This worked:
I created a new library by selecting >file, >>switch to library, >>>other, selected New Library. Then Quit Aperture (have to do this because it did not take until I quit). Restarted Aperture and switched back to my normal library.
Access to my Aperture library in the Media Browser came back right away. Desktop Background also returned. I had to restart the Mac to get the Screen Saver to come back.

  • Media Browser won't open iPhoto images after 10.4.5 update!@#$%^!@#$

Media Browser won't open iPhoto images after 10.4.5 update!@#$%^!@#$
I could use iPhoto images in Media Browser before the update - is this happening to anyone else?
I have restarted... no change. Maybe I'll try opening and closing iPhoto once.

    Thanks for the reply.
I am on Pages 2 also... Hmmm, Perhaps I just don't know what I am doing - New to Pages. I see my Library, Last Roll and all my albums in the Media Browser but when I double click one of them nothing happens - Is there some other way to open them?

  • Premiere Pro CC Media Browser doesn't display a RAID

    I'm running PP CC 7.2.0 on a Mac (10.8.5).
I've added an additional RAID (OWC Mercury Elite Pro Qx2 - 16TB) to my Mac Book Pro Retina attached via USB 3.0. However, it does not show in the Media Browser.
Above shows view of my Local Drives.
Above shows view of mouse selected local drives. The OWC drive is "seen" by the Media Browser, yet I can't get it to "mount" as a Local Drive.
I have reset PP CC's prefs with a restart with SHIFT held down. I have unmounted other dirves, guessing that I had too many devices on the USB bus (a silly idea, really - but worth a test) to no avail.
    Thoughts?

    Hi Alex
I ended up reformatting the OWC drive using File Utility and now it works fine. All I can think is that there's something Premiere doesn't like about how OWC's formatting utility works. The good news is that the drive works great when you finally get it running.

  • Media Browser not loading with Aperture 3.1

I upgraded to Aperture 3.1 with the automated software update and have come across a debilitating problem - the media browser can no longer load Aperture photos. When I click on Aperture the browser that shows up in a standard file open dialog window just has a spinning grey circle. Media from iPhoto or iMovie will load, so it's something specific to Aperture after upgrading. This is a big deal - are there any recommended solutions? Have others comes across this problem with Aperture 3.1?

    Hi,
See the discussion at the link below -- I can only confirm the problem, and am not confirming the one posted solution because I have not tried it yet, and have not reasoned why it works, although it very well may.

  • Media Browser without iPhoto or Aperture

I gave up on using iPhoto a little while ago because of how the library was built and the rather rigid means of editing photos and working with files. So I switched over to a more manual setup using photoshop and bridge.
Of course now when I want to use the media browser in the iWork suite, my lack of an iPhoto library leaves me with no options. Granted, I can always search for the file in finder and drag it over - but the media browser feature is fantastic and I'd hate to go without it.
Aside from reinstalling iPhoto and needlessly taking up space with a new library, do I have any other options to get the media browser back on its feet?
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry, I should have elaborated on that. I do not own Aperture; purely an Adobe user. But I assume it would be compatible with the iWork suite since it is an Apple application. Just hoping to keep things as simple as possible while still allowing me to use the programs I prefer.
    Thanks.

I cannot confirm this, everything works fine for me...
    What JDK are you using?
    I am runnin 1.5.1.5440 with JDK 6 Update 6...
Although now that I look at the file browser it has incredibly limited functionality (context menu). A READ-Only File Browser? Come on...

  • JApplet in browser doesn't refresh

    Hi -
I'm putting together an applet which currently contains only a few JButtons in a container. When the browser is minumized and then maximized, the buttons do not redisplay. Functionally, they're still there (they respond if I click in the right place), but they don't show up.
What technique to I need to use to refresh the browser window? Is there a FAQ?
    Thanks!

  • Aperture in iMovie Media Browser

I have looked in the Aperture manual, in the iMovie help, and I did a search on this forum. So far, I can't find an answer and I hope you can help. I recently upgraded from iPhoto to Aperture 3 and everything is working fine in Aperture 3. In Aperture 3, I have the projects sorted by date, which is the way I want them. that works fine. But when I use the Media Browser to access my Aperture projects, they are sorted alphabetically, not by date. This was not a problem when I used iPhoto, so I don't understand what the issue is. Is there some way to get the iMovie media browser to use the same sort order I have specified in Aperture 3? Thanks in advance for the help.

naperdan, thanks for your response. No, I had not seen that thread before, but it doesn't address my issue. Aperture 3 is working just fine for me, and I am not having any of the problems after importing my iPhoto libraries into Aperture 3 that the OP indicated. I can see all of my Aperture projects and albums in the Media Browser, I just can't find how to show them by date rather than by name. I could, I suppose, rename all 46 projects (e.g., change "photos0810" to "0810photos" and that would probably force the Media Browser to work the way I want it to. I just don't understand why it would show the iPhoto library in the sort order I specified in iPhoto but the Media Browser is treating the Aperture 3 library differently.

  • IWeb media browser include Aperture?

All the tutorials discuss iPhoto. I can only assume that my Aperture library will be accessible. Anyone know if this is accurate?
Thanks in advance for any help with this!

Aperture works fine. In my media browser, I can see Aperture, iPhoto and Photo Booth. You'll need the update to Aperture 1.5.4 via software update.
    Details below:-
    - Aperture 1.5.4 is required for compatibility with iLife '08. This update is recommended for all Aperture users.

  • Premiere CS6 media browser keeps refreshing

I teach a high school Multimedia course. We have Premiere CS6, and when trying to import footage from an ACVHD footage from a Canon Vixia camcorder, the media browser is constantly refreshing, making it impossible to import, sometimes wasting an entire class period. This is unacceptable. I have read in other forums that this issue was resolved in CC updates of the software, but we are only licensed for CS6 with no plans or budget in the near future to upgrade. How can this be resolved? If there is no fix for this in CS6, I will be having some serious regrets for deciding to switch from FCP to Premiere this year. Any resolution to this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks -

  • Refresh media browser

The media browser doesn't seem to me to update automatically if new content has been made available during keynote session. Is there a way to get it update? Looks like that I have to quit and reenter Keynote.

Are you sure? Here are at least two situations in which I would have to quit iWork applications:
    - I switch to a different iPhoto Library with iPhoto Buddy
    - I copy a movie to the Movies folder
No chance to see the new/changed content.

  • Media Browser -- HELP!

Suddenly the Audio part of the Garage Band Media Browser doesn't work. Photos and Movies work as they should, but when I click on the AUDIO tab, it just says "Loading iTunes Music …" and I get the spinning circle symbol.
A week ago this worked fine. I can't think of anything I've changed except downloading and installing the patches that have come out from Apple in the last week (and I repaired permissions before and after).
This happens no matter what project I open (or even if I create a new project).
I couldn't find an answer for this in the forums anywhere.
    Thoughts?

Okay, I solved my own problem by ossing out my plist. Must've gotten corrupted somehow. I should have tried that prior to posting.
    Thank you.
