  • 1Gb Media Card Wont Be Recognized As Present Anymore

Ok i have a 1Gb Media Card in my Pearl and it was working fine up to the time i took it out one day and now my phone says its not present anymore...i tried putting an other media card in there and the other card works so i dont unerstand why this one doesnt work. I have alot of stuff on my Media Card that is important to me and that its the only place i have them so...
If anyone can help i would be really happy...Thanks

    Hi,
I currently have that problem with my Blackberry Pearl 8100.
I put it a 1 GB MicroSD (Patriot) card and connected the cable to the PC and on the PC I created a folder and added the music to it and pictures.  It worked fine but one day I took the SIM card out just because and when I restarted my phone off and on it would not go pass the providers screen. It stays there, it seems it freezes and it cannot be turned off.  So, I took the media card out and turned it on and it displays the screen with no problem. So again I turned it off and installed the card back in and it still the same problem. I also somehow I installed the media card in the phone without taking the battery out but it still doesn't recognize the card.
The first time I installed the card I don't think it was formatted(not sure). But it was working fine.
I have installed another card and it still doesn't recognize another card. Also, the media card I tried it on another phone and it is not recognized.
Why would it work the first time as BrandonV(below) but not even locate it or make the phone not work while it has the Media card in?
BrandonV, if you found a solution please let me know.
Anyone else be kind enough to propose a solution.
    Thanks,
    Gaby

Don't know why the BB would stop seeing the media card, but as far as your important stuff... have you tried putting the card into a reader hooked up to the PC to at least retrieve that stuff or move it to that other card that does work?
Sorry that's all I can think of.

  • Media card wont read on phone or PC. "Media card can not be accessed due to fatal errors"

I've had my blackberry curve 8520 for over a year and never had any problems with the media card until now. I'm unable to look at any pictures, videos or music on my phone as i can not install the media card on my phone. I'm unable to repair it and format it also. The media card will also not be read when I plug it into my laptop with the USB.
I definitely know its the media card and not my phone itself as I've tried my brothers media card in my phone and it worked perfectly. When i put my media card in his phone, it did the same thing and came up with the same error.
Does anyone know how i'll be able to make the media card read in my phone or my pc so I can backup the data as I don't really want to lose it all?
    Any help appreciated,
    Thanks!

From what you describe, the data that was on the media card is already gone. If the PC cannot read it and the BB cannot read it, then it has for some reason been fried. I'm sorry for your loss.
You can try PC-based recovery utilities, but typically with flash memory (as opposed to magnetic memory of hard drives), once the data is gone, it's gone for good. But, you never know...give some of those a try and see what happens. Before you ask, no...I've no guidance for one versus another.
    Good luck!

  • Media Card wont read on the BB

I have read through the forums on various help that is provided for this problem but for me non of it helped.
When i put my media card on it wont read it unless i turn mass storage mode On, but when i turn it off it will read it on the BB but not on the pockemac sync program and wont recognize it as a media card.
I am using a mac so i dont know if that is a problem but help would be greatly appreciated.
    thx

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Leave masws storage mode enabled. It allows you PC to access the media card to load data.
You can also set it to not prompt you to open mass media mode when connected.
Just to make sure, make sure these options are enabled:
    Media Card window ON
Encryption NONE   Mass storage support ON
    Auto enable when connected  YES
On your media card do you have these folders?Blackberry
    Pictures
    Music
    Ringtones
    Videos
    Voicenotes
This is the folder structure that the Blackberry needs to allocate the media to.Do you have these folders on your media card?
If you need more info please ask!  If not please resolve the thread using the options by the Kudos’ star, Just place the check in the Post that answered your question, Thanks

  • Pocketmac will not recognize media card

I have a new 8110 and I have been having trouble syncing. I do not have a brand new macbook, mine was purchased a little over a year ago. When I tried to synch with pocketmac, I got a ton of error messages. after trying ALL DAY, I finally broke down and bout the missing sync program. It allowed the phone to sync contacts and calander, but neither program will sync media. I have formatted the media card, rebooted numerous times and tried an older card I have as well. the phone just doesnt seem to be reading the card...? what to do? I just got this phone and it is making me want to go back to my iphone....

    Welcome to Forum!
Did you try doing this? This is all I know about the formattin cards? There will be more  help soon on the way!
Format Card  If you are using your card it might be best to put the card in a reader and transfer everything to your pc first. Then with the card back in the BB gob to Options>Media Card>Menu>Format Card. If that works just transfer all your files back.

  • FCPX will not recognize media card

I am following Ripple Trainings tutorial for FCPX.  In following that exactly I can not get FCPX to recognize a card reader with a Compact Flash from a Canon 7D.  I have changed the card file structure so that there is only one folder and only h.264 files.  No luck.  The Help Menu lists no special file structure requirements. Incidentally,  the card is recognized in the Finder and accessible.
    Help, Thanks

  • BERRY WILL NOT RECOGNIZE MEDIA CARD.

I have a Blackberry Curve 8320 from T-Mobile. I upgraded the system software to 4.5.081 and every thing works fine.  I have a Scandisk 4gb micro sdhc card in the berry.  I sold my old phone and had to pull the sim card from the berry  to clear the old phone before I sold it. Prior to this everything worked fine.
Now I put the Sim card and media card back in the berry and it will not recognize the Media card.  Tried to reformat the card and I get a message "card not readable".  This card worked fine for a month until today, and that's with the system up grade.
    Did anyone ever experience this?

  • When I try to import pictures from media card to iPhoto, I'm getting the error 'The following file could not be imported. The file is in an unrecognized format.'  The file is a jpeg and I've never had this problem before.

When I try to import pictures from media card to iPhoto, I'm getting the error 'The following file could not be imported. The file is in an unrecognized format.'  The file is a jpeg and I've never had this problem before.

    What version of iPhoto?
What colour profile is the shot?
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Media card music wont play on phone

I have downloaded some wma files onto a new, formatted media card but can't get them to play on the Blackberry 8800. The screen opens ok as for other audio files but no sound except for a quick little buzz. The files open and play on the computor. Any clues?

Thanks. Have tried to convert to MP3 using MediaCoder but 5Mb files end up as 50Kb files with same result when I try to play. Have looked at other conversion tools but this is a very confusing area. Blackberry Support says WMA is supported so this is very frustrating.

  • Formatting Media Card

I am trying to use a Media card I used in my last (non-Blackberry) phone.  The phone shows that the card has been inserted, but says "Media Card cannot be read.  Verify that the memory card is formatted."  I followed the instructions on KB10527, but I never get the option to format the card under Option/Media Card.  I followed the advice I found in this forum, to take out the battery and retry, but it still did not work.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi and welcome....
Depending on your OS, you may have a card that is larger than what your Blackberry Handheld OS can support.
You can try to format your new card on a PC using FAT and then install the card. This will work in some situations.
To understand the specifications, 4.2 OS will not support 8gb cards but they will work sometimes if you format the card in a PC. If your phone has the new 4.5 OS (or Bold has the 4.6), the larger cards will work...
    Link is here...
Let us know how your doing....

    hello,
I strongly advise you to format the memory card with something else than the Blackberry. If you really have to do it from the blackberry, the procedure is here :

  • MAC OSX - Wont mount media card on Curve 8320

    Hi,
Just to get it out of the way. I have:
    1. Turned Media card on
    2. Turned Mass Storage Mode on
    3. Enabled Mass Storage mode when connected (yes)
    4. Formatted the media card countless times
    5. Enabled password on Curve 8320
    6. Updated Curve OS to latest 4.5
Despite all my efforts, the media card does not mount under OSX (10.5.6)
I can take pictures and save to the media card so I know its there and working, but I cant see the card under OSX or Windows (VMWare) no matter what I try.
    Any help is deeply appreciated.
    L. Zuniga

I'm having nearly the same problem with my 2 Verizon Curve 8330's
    I'm using OS X 10.5.8.
One device has 4.5.0.77, the other has 4.5.0.138.
Media card is on, Mass Storage is on, Enable Mass Storage when connected is on.
The card works fine on the device - eg, I can save pictures, etc to it, and the device can read the media that I put on the card via a card reader.
The USB works fine, eg PocketMac can see the device and sync my calendar and contacts. If I connect the device to a Windows machine, Desktop Manager can detect it and I can install software, etc.
BUT - the media card is not detected as a mass storage device - it never appears as a mounted volume, and PocketMac (and Media Sync on Windows) are unable to detect the card.
I've tried two different cards in each device, connecting to Mac and Windows machines, with the result I described above every time.
I know these media card problems are very common, but I've tried every solution I can find (checking settings, reformatting cards, uninstalling/re-installing drivers and software, etc) and nothing seems to help.
Since the card works fine on the device, and the USB connectivity seems to be fine, and my mass storage settings are all correct - what could I possibly be doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Sean

  • Please help!!!!!! BB 8310 Sandisk SDHC 4GB Media Card Formatting Error

Please help.  I bought a Sandisk SDHC 4GB Memory Card and I keep getting this message after I choose format.
"Media card cannot be read.  Verify that the menory card is formatted".
I updated the software in my 8310 from 4.2 to 4.5, having been told that was the problem.  I've taken the battery and the memory card out of the phone for several minutes and reinstalled just to get the same error message.  Why is is so difficult to get this thing to work?  Are there settings that need to be change or is there a way of doing this through desktop manager?  I'm reading that you can format the card on your computer, I have no clue how to do that and especially with a PC with Vista.
Is it easier to return the memory card and buy one that is formatted?  Please help, I've wasted the better part of a weekend with this already.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
The message says the Blackberry can sense a media card but cannot read the card.
Irwinll is correct that returning it is the easiest, but a card reader will be useful to you.
They are about $10.00 and well worth the price.
    Thanks,
