Media Center 2 Script Error!

I have not been able to set up my copy of Media Center 2.  Towards the end of installation, the following error shows up:
The following things cannot Self Register:WINDEx.dll
When I try to run the program afterwards, several messages come up saying that there is a script error.  The DLL file is present after installation.  This really frustrates me.  Ive tried reinstalling several times.  And yes, I have tried installing the patch.  Nothing works!!!!!
Has anybody else had this problem?  DOes anybody know why this is happening?

........................
Well, at least im not alone......
This program is in par with the OpenMG software from Sony.....
They were made by the same software.....
What a load of shista.

  • HP Solution Center Script Error

When I launch HP Solution Center(Vers.13), I get a Script Error. I am given the option to "Continue"or"Dismiss All". If I choose "Continue" the application launches OK and all functions seem to perform normally. This error just started occuring after a Microsoft Security update. I have attached the screen shot. Does anyone else have this problem?
I also checked for updates and the msg says it is updated. I also updated my Adobe Flash Player(vers. 11.5). I am not sure what to do next...any suggestions?

If that did not work and Adobe successfully updated or verified that it was already the newest, then the issue may very well be with Solution Center.  You are correct, a system restore before the update was installed would have corrected an issue caused by a Windows Update which leads me to believe that this was more of a coincidence than a cause and effect scenario.
What model is the printer?  I meant to ask for the printer's product number instead of the notebooks.  Sorry about that.
Was the printer installed via a disk or by a download?

  • Script Error report when trying to "Find Album Info" for music in Windows Media Player

When I click on "Find Album Info" in Windows Media Player, it finds the correct media info. But when I click "Finish" after verifying everything is correct, it says "An error has occurred on this script page" and asks if I want to continue. I click
yes, it goes back to the last page of finding album info, I again click "Finish" to find the same "Script error" page?

Sir, that means the Windows Firewall Blocked the Script So try these steps hope it works for you :
1.) - Open the "Start Menu".
2.) - Go to the "Control Panel".
3.) - Double click "Security Center".
4.) - Click "Windows Firewall" in the top left.
    5.) - Click "Change settings".
    6.) - Click "Continue".
7.) - Click the "Exceptions" tab.
8.) - Scroll down and check all of the "Windows Media Player" options.

  • Media Center Guide - Failed to retrieve EpgListings Error

When is Microsoft going to address this?  This is a HUGE PROBLEM for people that use WMC.  It couldnt be a bigger problem as it renders my ENTIRE media setup worthless.  Below is a link to a workaround and a forum with tons of people having
    the same problem.
    http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/viewtopic.php?p=80288&f=5#p80288
Re-running the TV setup works for a few weeks but then you start getting the same error.  I have 2 TVs in the house that use WMC.  Both have the problem.  I did what this link suggested and it fixed TV1.  I re-ran the setup again on TV2
and it worked, until tonight which is about 2 weeks since the last time I ran it.  This is a temporary workaround NOT a solution!
This is a MICROSOFT PROBLEM and this is EXACTLY why ZERO people take WMC seriously.  Can you imagine if you turned on your TV with dish, directv, comcast, whatever and you had no guide data and you had to jump through all sorts of technical hoops to
get your guide back?  It would be chaos.  WMC "could" be one of the best pieces of software from microsoft but with this sort of thing happening, it will never be anything but a snap-in.
I also find it amazing that there is no help on this MAJOR, SHOWSTOPPING, APPLICATION KILLING, bug/defect/issue within Microsoft's forums.  I have customers that I have recommended and built WMC based HTPCs because of how "great" they are...I
mean were.  This is embarrassing for me, my company, and it should be for Microsoft.  I am completely done using WMC after this.  We have better support from the open source solutions.

Microsoft has discontinued all development for Windows Media Center. There is no
development team as those folks have all moved on to other groups or left
Microsoft. It's difficult to get MSFT to look at problems with EPG downloads. If
    you post your issue at
    http://connect.microsoft.com/site1145 (you may have to
sign in/create an account to see the feedback tab) and it is trending, they
might eventually look at the issue. There was an issue in the UK about 10 days
    ago.

  • Media center problem with Qosmio G35-650 - error message

    hello all
I have a problem with media center on qosmio g35-650.
When starting live tv , an error message appears and writes "application failure please restart your computer again. if problem persists again please contact with your hardware assistance"
It was working yesterday and today something happened.
Also it cant find any tv signal available. Is it a hardware problem?
    regards
    cem mete

    Hello
Please dont be mad on me but in most cases is the user the problem and not the machine. I really dont know what is problem in your case but if the unit has well TV signal there should not be any problem.
Your unit must be an US model. Those notebooks are not known to me but I presume that Qosmio player is preinstalled too. I have G20 and TV works perfect (WMCE and Qosmio player). What is with Qosmio player in your case? Does it work well?
Be sure that TV tuner is listed properly in device manager and also TV antenna is connected properly.

  • Decoder error on media center

I have media center for an hp computer: model # m7170N... it will no longer record or play television. The error message: decoder error- video has either malfunctioned or is not installed comes up. how can i fix this??

Your Microsoft Windows Xp SP3 version value in the registry may be inconsistent or missing ...
     - Please navigate to the following tree in the registry editor and paste the value for "CSDVersion"
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
The regkey can be accessed by searching for 'CSDVersion' in the registry editor or you could follow the steps below.
    (1) Click 'Start' > choose 'Run'
    (2) type 'regedit' in the run window and click 'ok'. This will open the registry editor
    (3) Navigate the tree to 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion'
    (4) look in the left side pane and locate 'CSDVersion' and its value.
And how did your upgrade to SP3 happen? Did it come preinstalled on your machine or have you upgraded it by downloading upgrades from the internet.

  • Envy 23 Protected Content Error in Window Media Center

I have a brand new HP Envy 23 with Windows 8 and Intel HD Graphics.  I run Windows Media Center and have an HD Homerun Cable Card TV Tuner attached on my network so Media Center can redord HD Cable programs.
Recorded programs play back fine to my XBOX360 Media Center Extender, however, if I try to watch a recorded show on the HP Envy (which is the machine doing the actual recording) I get an error message that the Display Device Does Not Support the Playback of Protected Content.
I was hoping a display driver update might fix this, but I don't see any available.  Since HP offers this machine with a TV tuner, and with Blu-Ray, I would think the Intel HD Grapics Hardware and the display would support HD playback.
Has anyone else encountered this, and found a solution?
    Thanks!

    Hi jfmcgowan,
I have been researching the problem that you are having and came across several other people that were having the same problem. The closest thing that I could find to a solution was the link below. It is regarding Contect Protection Messages Interrupt View of High Definition Movies. Try that out and let me know.

  • Widows Media Center (msn video player) 'Video Error' box

    Hi
I believe this is a know problem, which is needs an updated to fix the software / player. Is there one on the way?
When I try to play an internet video in Widows Media Center (msn video player) I get 'Video Error' box (blue box in right hand corner) saying 'There was a problem accessing this video. Try viewing a different one'. The video does play, but with the error message over it. When you click the okay option in the blue box the video stops playing. This happens on every video I select.
I've reinstalled Windows Media Center, run all updates and updated flash. Knowhow.com advise that this is a known problem with no solution, and needs an update to fix it. Can you find out when there will be a fix?

    Hi,
According to your description, it probably there’s a conflict between how the Windows 8 HDMI drivers handle 7.1 and how Media Center handles sound.
You can check the Windows Update, if there is any updates relate with HDMI Audio Drivers, you can install it, then this problem will began.
Also you can go to ASRock official site to download the latest HDMI driver for test.
If still there is no use, you may need to contact your machine manufacture for further assistance.
In addition, because this problem relate with WMC, I would recommend you access the site below to ask the question for further help.

  • [TV@Master] ERROR .... TV Tuner & XP Media Center

Hello every body ,, I'm new member in this great site ..
    I have PC with :
    Intel Desktop Board D915GAV
    Pentium 4 Processor 3.4
    DDR 400/333  1 GB
    Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900
    Intel High Definition Audio
    Hard Disk 120 GB SATA.
    MSI TV@nywhere Master
    Windows XP Professional Media Center
Now ,, my pc and MSI TV Tuner work properly and I see and record directly without any problem  , but the major problem is when I start Media Center to see and record from TV I got this message  .
I need your advice and help ..
    Thank you ..

the answer is already in the stickies:
    Quote
"Windows XP Media Center says that my "tuner hardware is malfunctioning or not installed" but I have installed the latest TV@nywhere drivers from MSI"
Neither the Vox or the TV@nywhere cards are compatible with MCE2005. MCE2005 requires an analogue TV card capable of hardware MPEG2 encoding, or a software DVB-T (digital) card that already receives an MPEG2 video stream over-the-air.
You can however still use the Vox or the TV@nywhere using the MSIPVS software outside of the MCE2005 application.
the only MSI TV products compatible with MCE are the Theater 550PRO and DigiVOX

  • Script Error, Continue?"

When I launch Media Center Deluxe II I have this error:
    Script Error, Continue?
I download the patch but the error persist. I have a windows 2000 with a FX5200 Thx a lot.

There is one solution, you can always upgrade to XP.
I know the prospect of upgrading to XP is not a pleasant one, I am in the same boat.  But I don't see that I have much choice.
All I can say is, this is the LAST time I buy ANY MSI card board or other.
I ran into a similar problems with ASUS years ago and haven't bought an Asus product since.  I had bought the latest Asus motherboard and the latest Asus Deluxe video card and found out they were incompatible with eachother.  I never bought Asus since.
Apparently the problem with my MSI Motherboard and MSI Video Card is similar.   Except this time MSI says it works with Win 2000 Pro.  I buy it and find the same script error as you.  My supplier won't give me a refund an I can't afford to waste money on another Video Card.  I contacted Tech support and they told me that they never heard of such a problem.   They further told me it should work and they have no idea how to fix it.   They suggested I try reinstalling my OS.
As far as I am concerned, the problem is with thier installer.   It appears to be looking for some video or multimedia function that is only available in XP.
If MSI wants to regain my trust, they better provide me with a simple interface to get this remote working or provide me with a FREE replacement product that supports all the features of my card.  Otherwise they will lose my business for good.   I don't like companies who lie to sell products.
I am a supplier of MSI and other products and sell about 500 MSI products a month in each of my locations.  It would be a real shame if I dumped MSI components altogether.

    Hello;

I'm trying to use dynamic html / ajax to accomplish this but I am getting an error in my code, and it seems to be conflicting with my navigation as well. The navigation is written in Java as well. So what I'm going to do is post my pages code from my java in the head to the java page that runs the slideshow and the css file. Maybe someone else can see where my problem is. It will work once this problem is figured out...
    Here is my code:
    Main page:

  • Can any one help me with CD/Audio disc playback problem on media center m8200n running Windows Vista

I have HP Media Center m8200n Dest top running WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM 32 BIT edition. It  has MEDIA CENTER and MEDIA PLAYER. I experience problems with the computer being able to play CD music discs.  What happens is that the Disc will play only for 63 seconds exactly and then stop playing the track, the player will then skip tracks, settle on another one, play it for a few moments and then skip to the end and then play nothing. It gives me an error message that it cannot read the disc.  This happens with any and every standard store bought CD new or used. These CDs also do play on my laptop running basically same operating system.  This happens whether I trying to Play a disc or burn the disc to the hard drive.  The drives work great though as they do play DATA discs all the way through. MP3 discs play fine.  It also plays the DVD movies with no problem. Windows media player doesn't make it work, also installed VLC player and REALPLAYER to try some other players and they also don't work for music, only DVDs. They all only produce 63 seconds of music play back  from a disc. I've already tried Changing ENHANCEMENTS, UPDATING DRIVERS, UNINSTALLING THE DISC DRIVE and then re-installing back into WINDOWS but none of that helped. SYSTEM came with the integrated REALTEK HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO on the mother boad for multi channel playback options and I've downloaded those updated drivers again but that doesn't do anything.  Thinking it might be a hardware drive problem I purchased a new LG BLU-RAY DRIVE/BURNER super multi drive which plays fantastic for any video format from Blu-Ray to regular DVD format with the Power DVD software but the machine is causing even this new drive to have the same problem with the audio and it cuts out playing the audio disc within the same 63 seconds running audio disc. . There seems to be a software glitch and I'm wondering if you can help.  Also the sound card seems to work perfectly fine. I downloaded I-Tunes and copied over audio files to the computer via my flash drive and when I play those files from the hard drive, or even the sample windows media files which reside on the hard drive in MY MUSIC, all files play through perfectly, fully, and with great sound. Audio out jacks in back of computer work fine as also does the front head phone jacks upfront. Something in the software when playing a audio disc/file through the dic drives???? I've got hundreds of CD and it's a bummer not beng able to lay them through the system. Does anyone think moving from VISTA PREMIUM to a upgraded version like ULTIMATE or even going up to Windows 7 might solve problem??? What about the 32 bit verses 64 bit editions??? My system should be able to run in the 64 bit frame work also. THANK YOU in advance!!!

    Hi,
All dimms work individually?  Did you run a bootable memory diagnostic to determine the reliability? Did you run a diagnostic on the hard drive?  I believe that your PC came with PC Doctor and that you can create a bootable diagnostic disk. Did you create that disk?  Be sure to purchase memory dimms from a manufacturer that will stand behind their product with a guarantee such as Crucial, Corsair or Kingston. Buy directly from the manufacturer and they will stand behind the guarantee. Be sure that all of the dimms are identical. Use CPU-Z to determine that the specifications are indeed identical.
You have some options to consider once you can stablize your PC for updating the BIOS.
Locate a hard drive and use the HP external recovery media to build a VISTA system. -- safest method
Use a VISTA repair disk and at the command prompt try executing the HP BIOS update (Admin). -- safe
Try a bootable BIOS update process as suggested at this site. --  less safe but doable
