  • Adobe media encoder in acrobat proXI

I learned from tutorial video file of adobe that adobe media encoder is automatically installed when installing acrobat proXI.
So I tried to find out this software in my computer. but failed.
Is adobe media encoder included in acrobat pro XI as package ?
If yes, could you explain how to install adobe media encoder from installing CD ?
If not included, could I download from adobe home page at free ?
If yes, which version could I download for window 8.1 ?
    Thanks

Pull the Matrox out. Try with a standard project and likely your problems are solved.
Matrox cards are best used in a fashion they were designed for, as a doorstopper.

  • Installation Media for Adobe Acrobat Reader and Flash without Extra Software

Is there a Installation Media format for Adobe Acrobat Reader and Flash which does not have McAfee, Google Chrome or Google Toolbar associated with the installation?  This deployment is for a IT department.  We do not want Google Chrome, Toolbar, or McAfee installed on our workstation, and we want to prevent our users from installing them when performing the upgrades to newer versions.  We want installation media without the extra software for deployment.  Does Adobe supply these?

  • How to transfer adobe acrobat XI registration from one desktop to another (bought new PC).

how do you  transfer adobe acrobat XI registration from one desktop to another (bought new PC).  Need to use ASAP!

    Hi jaanders2,
The licensing agreement allows you to activate Acrobat on up to two computers. So, if you've only activated in your old computer, you simply need to install and activate Acrobat on the second computer. If you no longer have the installer file or installation media, you can download Acrobat from here: Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X - Adobe
If you need your serial number, this document will help you track it down: Find your serial number quickly - Adobe
And this document, will walk you through the activation process: Activation & Deactivation Help
Please let us know if you need additional help.

  • Acrobat 8 Pro - How do I flip pages and sound files?

I have made a PDF from a PowerPoint file and as expected the actions were lost from the PPT.
I would like to make the PDF to start when opened and change to the next page every 10 sec.  I have tried Advanced/Doc Processing/Page Transitions - set flip to 10 sec and all pages  -  but nothing happens after I save and reopen in Reader 9.
I also have 8 WAV files attached via the PPT to PDF action.  These show on the various pages as they should but they should start when the page is reached.  How do I do this?
I'm proficient with js for HTML but have not tried for Acrobat.
I appreciate any help to make the above happen.
    Thanks,
    RON C

You will probably want to use Acrobat JavaScript (not the same as 'web' javascript) to coordinate the initiation/termination of the sound clips for each PDF page (slide).
Obtain the requisite documentation from Acrobat section of Adobe's DevNet.
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat.html
It may be helpful to review the information related to the rich media annotation in the Acrobat SDK documentation.

  • Can I create a form that doesn't trigger Acrobat's JavaScript disabled / security issues warning?

    Hello,
Can I create a pdf that doesn't trigger Acrobat's JavaScript is currently disabled and this document uses it for some features.  Enabling JavaScript can lead to potential security issues.
I even get this error when I create a blank pdf.
I'm not using any JavaScript in the form and the nature of the message might tend to be a bit scary to some people since it mentions enabling JS can lead to potential security issues.  I basically want to disable the messaging of a feature I'm not even using.
Anyone know if this is possible and if so, how I go about it?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    I too share your frustration!!
Unfortunately I do not have a complete answer for you.
From the start I must say that Stefan Cameron has been very helpful (http://forms.stefcameron.com/2010/01/14/acrobatreader-9-3-now-available/), however I have not had sufficient time available to deal with the issue (or find a satisfactory resolution).
The original post that Srini shared with you related to an XFA form that had FormCalc and Javascript in it. I will now share with you another situation that is closer to your experiences.
Sometimes where we have a complex solution/form, we often give our users a PDF with instructions and demonstrations. We generate these using Adobe products:
    LiveCycle Designer ES to generate the solution/form;
    Captivate to record the demonstration (.swf);
Acrobat to package it up in a static PDF.
The screen shots below are from a PDF that includes written instructions and six Flash (.swf) files. The PDF does NOT include fields/form objects and does NOT include any FormCalc or Javascript.
One of the big sells in Acrobat 9 was that Adobe had fully integrated Flash (Adobe product, ex. Macromedia) into Acrobat 9. This mean that .swf files could run natively inside a PDF. Brilliant!!!  The website today is still pushing this message, for example:
Now bear in mind that the following screenshots are from a PDF that does not contain any scripting - its sole purpose is to "inform" the user, "look as good as the work I put into it", incorporate instruction and "multimedia" in a "single polished file" and I should be "confident that my audience will be able to view my work exactly as intended".
    Not so!!
When the user now opens the form, all looks OK. No warning. They can read the instructions and scroll down to the multimedia (.swf files).
However when the user clicks on the multimedia, the yellow bar appears:
I go through the "trust" process:
And the PDF looks like it is OK, no yellow bar. When I click on the multimedia, it begins to play - yes!! BUT ONLY FOR A SECOND OR TWO AND THEN IT STOPS AND GOES BACK TO THE START - AGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!. I would apologise for shouting, but this is beyond frustration. The work in capturing six screencasts in Captivate, annotating them, publishing to .swf and packaging up in Acrobat has been a complete waste of time. Worse than that I now have several PDFs out there, that do not work. Good advertisement for my business? I don't think so!!
The document that Stefan provided (Managing JavaScript Execution in the Acrobat Family of Products) does not mention Flash/.swf as being a problem. However I would recommend that you go through this document, as it may help you.
So, where to now? I don't know. The previous posts and Stefan's responses have several urls that may help. You should maybe consider logging your experiences as a bug (log at Adobe).
    In the meantime good luck,
    Niall
    UPDATE:
This behaviour (.swf playing for only a few seconds) happens in PDFs where the .swf is inserted as legacy media to run in earlier versions of Acrobat/Reader. In this case Acrobat/Reader is making an external call to Flash Player. Hence the yellow bar. However it does not explain why the Flash video still does not play when trusted.
If the .swf is added into the PDF as Flash media to run on Acrobat 9 and above, then it works without displaying the yellow warning bar.
So maybe any feature of your PDF that calls an external resource is likely to show the yellow warning bar.

  • Moving Acrobat X Standard

My old pc came with Acrobat X Standard pre-loaded.  I just upgraded to a new pc and would like to move Acrobat to the new machine.  How do I go about it?  The license on my old pc is registered with Adobe.  I don't have any media from Dell for Acrobat.

You can download the software from http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html I think. The issue may be the Std version. If it is not there, you might search the forum for other posts about this as it has been asked several times. You will still need to get the SN from Adobe for the install, based on your registration.

  • Embedded Media

I work at an organization that creates PDF presentations out of PowerPoint files. We would like to embed video (mpeg) into the PDF and then distribute online. Is there anyway to embed the video and have it play without users having to adjust their "multimedia trust" settings in Acrobat Reader, without having to go through someone like VeriSign to certify and sign the document?

Acrobat 9 has extended security but also allows for a better playback
experience since it can enable Adobe Reader 9 users to playback content
using the Flash runtime. In other words, no dependency upon the media
player - you need Acrobat 9 Pro and they require Reader 9 (when it's
    released) ;-)

  • Can I transfer adobe acrobat from my old to new computer?

My licence for Adobe Acrobat9 was included when I bought my old laptop. I've got a new laptop and would like to run the software on this PC, (how) can I do this?

    Hi iws transfer,
What version of Windows does your new laptop have? See System requirements | Acrobat.com to see what versions of Windows Acrobat 9 supports. If your OS isn't listed here, you may be able to install and use Acrobat, but Adobe can't officially support the setup.
That said, you'll need your the installation media and your serial number. If you don't have the installation media, you can download Acrobat 9 Pro from this page:  Download Acrobat products | 9, 8    (Acrobat Standard isn't available for download.)
And here's some instructions for retrieving your serial number: Find your serial number quickly - Adobe
If you run into problems, please let us know.

  • Audio in .pdf needing multiple clicks to start playing ...

I am building a Rich Media eBook in pdf format for teaching. I have created a single page 'test-bed' with a couple of audio files (.mp3) and a couple of video files (.flv)  (one each embedded and linked).  The media does play in Acrobat Reader 9, but the audio files will not play when their control icon is first clicked. The player pops up properly, with the play icon appearing as 'pause' as it normally would if the audio were playing. But it is not. Clicking once more turns it to 'play', and then clicking once more starts the audio playing.
Any advice on why this may be happening, and how I can fix it?
The test file, which is here, was created in InDesign, and exported as pdf, with the audio and video then added by Acrobat 9 Pro. (Mac OS 10.5.8 / CS4)
    Thanks for any advice ...

You're trying to play 'legacy' media which was depreciated a number of years ago for security reasons. It relies on some external player understanding how to open the file type, but Acrobat/Reader can only send the file across and hope that something will react, it cannot help you find the codecs you need.

  • No image when embedding a video/movie into my PDF file, just a black screen?

I cannot embed videos with an image on my computer into my Acrobat Pro 8 file. I get only a black screen, which I must click on to play the video. How do I import the visual image along with an arrow for playing or a navigation bar at the bottom for play/pause?

If you're creating video content in Acrobat 8 then it's "legacy media", which has a different structure to the Rich Media Annotations created by Acrobat 9 and later. RMAs use Flash Player and there are inbuilt choices for the play control buttons when you create a new annotation, but legacy media hands over control of the video rendering to whatever external application it can find installed on your computer, so what you see will vary.
The poster frame for a video can be controlled when the annotation is created - either sampled from the video or selected manually from an image file.

  • Interactive buttons in Indesign CS6

I'm currently working on a pdf interactive project. A requirement of the project is to have the music looped with buttons to control it which I have done, but I must be missing a step.  I've added music and have made the "play", "pause", "resume" and "stop" button on the master page and I've also added actions to the buttons as well. When I export the file as a pdf interactive and open it in Acrobat, the music does start playing when the button is pressed, etc. but as soon as I go to the next page and try to "pause" or "stop"  nothing happens or else I have a nice cannon effect as the song start ups again while the other is playing from the previous page.  I'm quite new to Indesign and any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Playing sounds/music in PDF is page-specific. You can't control the sounds/music throughout the pages. Only on the page you're on. This is a limitation of PDF and has absolutely nothing to do with Adobe InDesign.
If you want to know more about PDF media capabilities and limitations, your best bet is the Acrobat forums. (Acrobat has more controls than InDesign is able to access when it creates interactive PDFs.)
The best forum is the Rich Media/3D forum for Acrobat:
