Media Encoder 5.5 Windows 7 - Only see 4 export formats

Windows 7
Media Encoder 5.5.1.12
I only see 4 export format in export settings
FLV
F4V
H.264
MP3
ALL other formats are not displaying. What should i do? I ran the update and still only 4 formats. I am trying to encode a Windows Media file and WMV is not in the output list. What could cause this problem? WMV is installed in my Windows 7 system. i checked through Windows Media Player.

What other Creative Suite programs are installed? The set of supported codecs in AME is controlled by the application or suite that installed AME. The set of export formats you see is consistent with Flash and several other programs; Premiere, After Effects, and Encore makes the rest of the export formats available.
So if you have PPRO, AE, or Encore installed, then we'll need to troubleshoot why formats are missing.

  • Where are the mpeg-4 encoding settings?  I only see mpeg1,2

I am new to Compressor, but purchased it expecting mpeg-4 was an available encoding option.  I only see mpeg1 and 2 in the settings tab.  I have 1980 x1020 video coming from final cut pro x - what do use?

Start out with one of the MP4 presets, like one in the http live streaming category. Duplicate it and in the Inspector make whatever changes you need,. Save as a custom preset.
    Good luck.

  • Adobe Flash Media Encoder Increase Buffer Window

    Hi All,
Windows 8 OS looking to increase Adobe Flash Media Encoder's buffer window to 5 seconds and insert script commands. Obviously, there aren't any options through the program itself, so we're looking for a way around. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can increase the buffer to 5 seconds, click on the auto adjust and drop frames (recommended over degrade quality in my opinion as it can change the pitch of the audio), then change the buffer to 5 seconds.

  • Media Encoder crash in Windows 7

I just finished building a new machine to take the place of my old one. I'm using CS4 Master Collection. I don't use the video tools a lot but last summer I put together a presentation using Premier and created an avi file from it using Media Encoder. I worked on this for a couple of months and it always worked fine.
Well a coule of days ago I decided to see how fast things would run on my new box so I ran the same project. I opened it up, clicked "export" and then "media" (I think that's it, I don't have it up and running at the moment). Media Encoder opens up at that point. About 20 seconds into it, my computer crashes and reboots. No BSOD, no freeze up, just pow, shut down and restart on its own. I've tested this a few times and even chose mp4 output to see if that made a difference. None. Same deal. One time when I opened up Premiere the whole machine froze but mostly I can get to that but Media Encoder crashes the system.
I read that this was a problem in the RC days of Windows 7 but I figured the Adobe updates would have handled this by now (I did run the update so everythings current - CS4 and Windows 7). I've run several stress tests (Prime95, memtest, furmark, etc, including thorough drive tests with WD diagnostics) before loading up my programs and done a lot of stress testing after that too. in fact I'm running Prime95 now and no problems.
What's going on with this? Anyone know? (I want to submit this to Adobe bug support as well but can't find a link for that)

  • Media Encoder is not producing sharp .mp4 exports, any help please?

Hi all, I've been trying for a while now to export my After Effects CC 2014 project using Media Encoder CC 2014 as a MP4 file. I've chosen 'match source' settings, VBR 2 pass with various bitrates (even extremely high bitrate values) but my video is still not sharp. I've experimented with making the frame rate also higher but that doesn't make a difference. I've also tried using the 'Maximum render quality' option but that also doesn't help.
In the 'output' preview, the images look sharp like in the original project. But I can't get this in my final file. Anyone know why? Thank you very much.
    Here are my settings:

MPEG compression (h.264 is MPEG) has a limited color space, compresses color, and has specific frame sizes that are required. Also, your media player has limitations and scaling problems. So do web pages. Nothing is perfect. The green text against the bluish background is going to look bad when you throw in compression artifacts from color and the fringes around the green text against the white background are also color compression artifacts. The solution is to first, modify the design to colors that work. You have to be sensitive to the color requirements of the space you are working in wither it is TV, WEB, Print or any other media. Most of these problems are color compression artifacts caused by the limited color space and limitations of MPEG compression.
The best hope for a design like this test to work is to first, make sure that your output is a legal h.264 size, second choose colors that will work against white backgrounds, third render a lossless master and finally, use that lossless master as the source for your MPEG compression in AME. You also make sure that your media player is not scaling the video.
If you absolutely have to have the video 392 X 640 then you are going to have resizing artifacts with H.264. You either have to accept that or change design of the web page and the HTML 5 code for the player. You also need to consider HR displays like the Retina displays on Macs or 4K displays on Windows machines or the displays on new mobile devices because they are going to want to see video and images that are 2X as big as a standard display. You'll also have to code for HR displays in your HTML. If this were my project I would make the master comp the nearest 2X the size needed for a standard web page that was a supported h.264 frame size, carefully choose my colors and design with known limitations in mind, render a lossless master in 10 bit or better 444 color, then send that to AME for compression. The web page would then be designed and the player coded with the video size taken into consideration.

  • Media encoder crash systématiquement durant l'export

    Merci d'avance.

  • Exporting video from media encoder. Half of the video export other half goes blank/black

Hi! I'm in need of help I've been trying to export this video to media encoder for about 20days now. I'm working with premiere pro cs5.5 and after effects cs5.5-
Dynamic link, I've updated the two and everything, every time I try to export my video half willl export and I believe after effects crashes and thats when the other
half of the video goes blank/black, this happens everytime, it's very frustrating and I don't know what is causing this. it actually just started.
it also does this on cs5 as well.
    I am working on windows 7 HPE-510y Hewlett-Packard computer
    14gb of ram

Have you checked the output in AME? I always check that before I hit go to make sure that I haven't fouled something up and that the in and out points are what I want. I spot check all along the timeline.
I'm thinking that you have some parts of the Premiere Pro project that are shots or sequences that have been "Replaced with After Effects Composotion." If this is the case, does the blackness happen in one of these shots? If it does I'd suggest trying to render that shot in AE and replace it in the PPro Timeline. If After Effects is really crashing you'll be able to find out why.
A little more detail about your project would also help.

  • Media Encoder in settings mode only shows the lower half of screen

All of a sudden, my Adobe Media Encoder CS4 is only showing the lower half of the screen in Settings mode. This is how it encodes from the .wmv file to .avi. and is therefore corrupting the file. Does anyone know why this has happened?

This is a known issue related to a recent security update to Windows Media: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2803821

  • How to open Adobe Media Encoder CS5 in Windows

Please excuse my ignorance but how do you open Adobe Media Encoder?  I've searched everywhere and cannot find a solution.  In Adobe help,it says it's in the start menu under all programs but all I have been able to find is a folder with a bunch of dll files.  If I try to export a clip from Premiere Pro, It doesn't open, no error message or anything, simply nothing happens.  I found an update but that still didn't do anything, still no luck in finding it.  Thanks in advance for any feedback.

On my computer folder structure is...
Program Files... Adobe... Adobe Media Encoder CS5
Includes (along with a lot of dll files)
Adobe Media Encorer.exe dated 8/6/2010 size 1,848 kb

  • Adobe Media Encoder will not allow me to export settings

I am trying to export the settings from Adobe Media Encoder 6 so a co-worker can use them to encode videos with the same settings I have.  However, when I click on edit, export settings is greyed out. Does anyone know what can be done to fix this? If there is another way to pass on my settings I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Sorry, found it,
Didn't realise I could scroll down to find more options in
    the Encoder Window

  • Adobe Media Encoder en service Windows

    Bonjour,

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 won't finish export

Exporting h.264 media from Premiere Pro with Youtube HD settings.
    First export finished just fine.
Did a second one, and AME sat there for a little while at the end with about 3 seconds remaining.
A third file hung in AME with 3 seconds remaining for like an hour.
And now this fourth video I'm trying to export has sat at 4 seconds remaining for 6 hours.  If I look int he output folder, I see the m4v and aac files that AME hasn't put together into the final mp4.
All videos are the same length (1 hour interviews).
Any idea what the problem may be our how to fix it?
On a Windos 7 64 machine, i7 870, 16gb ram, GTX 650 Ti.  Never had a problem like this before.

    Hi Dmitri,
In AE project I have JPG sequence footage and sequence of ten MP3 audio tracks. I have created WAV file from those ten tracks and tried it in AE instead of MP3 files, but result was same - no audio in file, rendered from AME.

  • Is Quicktime the only slideshow export format option?

I'm to give a presentation this Thursday night (2-24-2011) in Mac Powerpoint format that will incorporate someone else's [short] presentation. However, I just found out that this person used iPhoto's Slideshow feature but wants to be able to stop and start using my laser pointer w built-in slide control.
He has about 90 photos/slides or else I'd have simply told him to just export each photo as a low-rez jpeg. I've never used the slideshow feature in iPhoto so I'm wondering if there's another export option that doesn't require the actual app, Quicktime format, or exporting 90 images?

You can only export as a QuickTime Movie or as 90 discreet images.

  • Exporting to Media Encoder crashes Premiere Pro CC 2014

    Greetings,
I am experiencing a problem with premiere off and on. Right now it is an on problem. When I am exporting from Premiere Pro CC (and CC 2014) it will intermittently crash Premiere. I have tried this with several different audio and video formats (AVI [Lagarith and uncompressed], WAV, H.264, MPG2, AAC, etc). At the moment, every time I go to export to queue it locks up and hangs on the "Preparing data for export..." Media Encoder Launches and then it just freezes. I get "Problem Even Name: AppHangB1" over and over. Sometimes a full restart will fix this temporarily and sometimes it goes away for a long while. I managed to get a few sequences exported and then it just kept freezing on every PP CC restart.
    Here are my system specs:
Premiere Pro CC (up to date)
Win 7 64bit (up to date)
    i7 970
    24GB Ram
NVIDIA 470GTX (driver up to date)
    3 x 1.5TB internal
    4TB internal
    3TB internal
    12TB RAID 5 via USB 3.0
    USB 2.0 and 3.0 drives
FireWire audio device (M-AUDIO FireWire1814)... although, I am not using it for playback. It is connected.
Footage is from C100 H.264 .MTS, H.264.mov from 7D, and H.264 .MOV from iPhone.
All stock video plugins with a few third party audio plugs.
This problem happens with and without third party plugs, but it happens that this project uses them.
I have chatted with Adobe help twice about the matter and nothing has come of it. Log out, log in = same. Restart = same (sometimes), create new user account = same, and so on. The only thing I haven't done is completely re-install premiere, which seems a bit overkill. One of the reps said he would get back to me in a few days after he watched the issue via screen share. Never heard back.
I get the sense that this has something to do with PProHeadless.exe not launching or not running properly. When the crash happens on a fresh restart of PP CC 2014 PProHeadless is not running. I can start PProHeadless and it will send sequence to media encoder. When I try to export another sequence from the same project it crashes and I see another instance of PProHeadless launched.
Also, once the projects are exported to Media Encoder, I can encode them to any format with no problem. The problem is getting the sequences there!
Is there anything that I am overlooking here?
    Thanks for the help!

    Hi
    Premiere pro cc 2014  8.0.1 (21) build
    Encoder CC 2014 8.0.1.48
I use CC for Teams so it updates all the time.
Again when I tried to use it today by letting premiere open it by sending an output into Queue it crashed both Encoder and Premiere.
In order to shut down Encoder and Premiere I had to go into Task Manager and "End Process Tree" on everything adobe I could find because just ending Encoder did not work it would not close. I remembered that years ago when Premiere would crash we had to end a photoshop process. I found photoshop open even though it was not "alive" on my task bar. I had used it yesterday but had closed it. I also had to close dynamiclinkmanager.exe *32 as well as one of the three Adobe CDF Helper.exe*32. They popped back on but Encode closed and then I got a message that Premiere needed to close and did when I clicked the button to let it close.
After all this I re-opened Encoder by itself and checked the Preferences finding that Import Sequences Natively option was again checked.
By the way for me, "Launch AME manually, then drag the sequence from PPro's Project panel to AME's Queue (or to a preset in the Preset Browser). That uses a different code path than the File>Export>Media workflow." won't work most of the time because I do live events of panel interviews that may run 2 or more hours. I need to break them down to chapters for the web
Also I know this isn't part of this problem but I and many others would still love dynamiclink to work to Encore because the DVD is not dead yet. The current work path is a drag.
Looks like some programers and engineers have some work to do.
    Thanks
    Dennis

  • Media Encoder Update problem - cannot export video

Hi, I just obtained a student license of Premiere Pro CS4, and I have a critical problem, I cannot export any videos.
Every time I go to export a sequence, Premiere reminds me to update the media encoder.
    http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/7047/mediaencoderjz6.png
I have done both as instructed, and successfully installed the latest update to media encoder, but Premiere still fails to export any video, or even open Media Encoder. I do not have this problem on my laptop, only on my home computer.
I'm running Windows Vista, I have not installed any previous versions of premiere, my system spec is dual core 3ghz, 4gb ram, nvidia 8600gt.

    See:
Support:kb407106 Error: "Encoding Failed. Could not read from the source"
    Cheers
