Has anyone tried Red Giant Denoiser II in Compressor?
Hi
I hope you can help me out. I've started using denoiser II and find it works great in FCP, although it does slow it down a bit. The issue I'm having is in compressor for a one and half hour project, it might take 6-7 hours to encode but when I've used denoiser II on 12 mins of that 1hr and half film, it has increased the encode time to over 27hours? (still encoding so not sure how long it is going to take). Have I done something wrong? Or why is it taking so long to encode? Can anyone help?
All clips are Apple pro res442 1080HD. I use an imac, OSx 10.6.8
Many thanks
KayleeHi Russ
Yes, all that's right. Sorry, didn't give enough information. It's the Red giant Magic Bullet denoiser plug in which I bought and downloaded to my FCP a couple of days ago. I was editing a project which had about 12 mins of noisey footage at the end. All the clips are apple prores 422 and I send it to compressor from FCP in drop down menu send to> compressor.
In compressor I use 'DVD best quality 90 mins', which i use as standard and it finished last night after taking around 33 and a half hours to turn into the video and audio files I then put into DVD studio pro. It usually takes me about 6 hours or so for this paticular process so I'm wondering if I've done something wrong with this plug-in? Or if anyone has used denoiser II and gone through this process before?
I use a Mac OSX version 10.6.8. Memory is 8GB. The processor is 3.06 Ghz Intel core 2 duo.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

Red Giant Denoiser II not working with certain clips
HI all,
I have a 25 minute wedding video that I have been unsuccessfully trying to export and sign off on nfor the last week and the problem seems to lie with Denoiser II. There were some clips that were corrupted by me using Denoiser on them so I had to take the effect off. However I am also having a problem in that the denoiser effects seems to 'flicker' during clips - ie it works for a second, then stops so noise appears, then works again for a second, then stops etc etc. The footage was shot on a dslr, 24fps. I shot a short film with the same clips and used denoiser a few weeks previously with no problems. The only thing that differs is the amount of other effects I am using with the footage - Colorista II, Mojo and Magic Bullet Looks. Could the problem be that I have too many effects running?
I can't view my footage in Premiere as my computer can't play it due to the effects I have on it so can't comment on whether the problem is happening in playback and export, or just when i export
I have tried exporting in h.264, mpeg etc. I have also tried exporting through Encoder rather than Premiere, again with no difference and am getting so frustrated.
Im on Premiere Pro cc and Windows 8
Any advice would be much appreciated
Thanks!
TonyHi Tony,
Make sure you have installed the most recent version of that plug-in. You might also want to contact Red Giant Support: http://www.redgiant.com/support/

Media Encoder VERY Slow With Neat Denoiser Effect Applied
I understand that some 3rd party effects are not GPU accelerated and may take a bit longer to code, but this is ridiculous. I thought there might have been an improvement to this by now. I cannot possibly have a faster computer than i do now, and this is still a serious problem. Do you people at Adobe talk to these 3rd parties about their products? Red Giant is anotherr serious problem. I can't afford to wait for these long render times. I'll go out of business for sure.
Video DeNoiser plug-ins are notoriously slow by their nature, this is not Adobe's fault. Each HD frame of video has millions of pixels in it, and each pixel needs to be compared to those in the frames before and after to make a determination as to what is "image" and what is "noise" and the resulting clean image then needs to be calculated. Motion in the video complicates the process.
I use Red Giant DeNoiser II and which is now GPU-accelerated to make it a few times faster than it used to be, but it still takes many hours to do an entire program. Just how it is.
My suggestion is to apply the DeNoiser filter to the raw video clip prior to editing, to create a new (clean) clip using a lossless intermediate codec. Let that process run overnight. Then use that new clip for the editing without lag and with fast (normal) export times. If I apply denoiser in the timeline, everything grinds to a halt! Previews suck. I just process the raw clip in After Effects, export to Lagarith codec for instance (on PC), then edit that in Premiere. Mac users may want to use ProRes. Avid DNxHD is another good codec for Mac or PC.
Thanks

Red frames popping up after upgrade to media encoder cc
I'm having some issues with Media Encoder CC. My workflow is AMA SxS card (footage is in XDCAM HD 1080/50i) into Avid Media Composer 6, edit, and export as XDCAM HD 1080/50i mxf file into a watch folder that Media Encoder picks up and converts to SD mpeg2 (its the way the TV stations want it) that file is then ftp'd using Media Encoder. It used to work fine with Media Encoder CS6, but since I upgraded it keeps giving me red frames (cant read frame errors) usually just before or after there is a cut in the footage. I've resorted to transcoding the footage in Avid to DNxHD 120 after editing and that seems to resolve the issue, but it's just an extra step that adds loads of time to my workflow.
Avid Media Composer 6
Adobe CC
HP EliteBook 8760w
Windows 7 64bitThe whole point is that I dont want to transcode into DNxHD at all, DNxHD is the extra step. The can't read frame errors are also very inconsistent in Media Encoder CC. I might export a file and it gives me a few red frames (can't read frame errors) but if I then take the same file and rename it they sometimes work. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that hasnt helped...

Red r3d 3k fails on CUDA export Media encoder CC
Been having some problems with Red 3k.
Several times recently for some low budget stuff I have shot 3k and put it in a 720P timeline.
All of my 3k material will fail under media encoder CUDA export.....it works under software but a 20 minute CUDA encode is 7 hours with 3k in software encoding
4k 5k all work fine no problems.....just the 3k stuff. And this has been the case over several shoots for months.
It is also the same with 1080p sequences and at any frame rate, and it also fails from PPRO direct export (not queued)
Thanks
Win 8 64 core i7 6core 980 24GB ram, 2x GTX 470 1X GTX 590 SSD'sYes, AME queue is a problem. I have a 28 minute weekly broadcast for a client that must be encoded in 6 different formats for TV Broadcast, mpeg2 DVD, vimeo, mp3, h.264 for vimeo, etc. If I attempt to encode all 6 in the queue I will have some success and also failure. If I queue several videos that all require mpeg2 (though with each requiring several different specs, i.e., upper field vs. lower field, mpeg2 dvd, mpeg2 HD, etc.) it will complete the task. Yet if I add h.264 to the mix all encodes will fail. I can encode h.264 by itself with no problems. So yes, you are not alone. Not sure what the solution is. In CS6 one could queue all of these formats and walk away. Can Adobe acknowledge these issues and then propose a solution?

Red to proRes 4444+ in Media encoder
hello
I'm working Red Shots shooting on green screen. I keyed with the ultrakey in premiere and I'd like to export the result in Prores 4444 with alpha to edit more freely in a low HD resolution.
The problem is that I can't find the way,( like in After) to check the rgb + alpha button in Media encoder.
Could I find a similar way to export the sequence in a movie and not in a image sequence ?
Do I miss something?
Thank youThank you for your answer.
In Prores 4444 + you have to check the "depth 64 bit"
In animation codec you have to check the depth 32 bit.
It's not so clear than after.
I've tryed, it's working but my alphachanel get out BLUE???!!
Is it normal?

MXF XDCAM OP1a Red Frames in Media Encoder
It was advised in the other thread about red frames to start a new one for this kind of the red-frames-problem.
So my usual workflow is:
Export a masterfile from Premiere via Mediaencoder as XDCAM OP1a 1080p5025fps.
From that I generate various versions for my clientst directly in MediaEncoder. Almost only h264 in all different sizes.
Since the update 3 days ago this doesn't work anymore. The h264 files that are made from the mxf have many red frames and mediaencoder reports errors like:
: MXF read error "\\?\V:\xxxxx-1080p-XDCAMHD50PAL.mxf" frame 383.
In a 3 minute clip 8 of those errors at differnet frames are reported. I suppose that is where the red frames are generated.
Yesterdays update (the Audio Buzz fix) did not change the redframe problem.
So I used my 2nd installation that was not updated for weeks. There everything works as expected.
When I generate the MXF there, it's fine and h264 files are made from it without any problems.
So I have a working MXD XDCAM OP1a 1080p 50 PAL25fps.
That same file in the updated media encoder again gives many "MXF read errors". So it's obviously the Mediaencoder that cannot handle that (working) MXF file.
I hope that helps the developers to get rid of that problem as soon as possible.
__Peter__We are having the same issue at our shop. We have 8 suites, all are experiencing red flashes ever since we upgraded to 7.2.1.
All the systems are Win7, and we've encountered red flashes with XDCam 35, XDCam 422 and Mpeg4 clips. We haven't been to develop a workaround as the flashes occur in very inconsistent patterns.
For example, just a moment ago an editor called me in because he was getting red flashes on his exports. We went to his timeline, and the timeline was showing red flashes as well. We deleted the clip (an XDCam 422 clip) from the bin, and re-imported it. It played in the viewer fine with no flashes. We put it on the timeline and again it played fine. We exported the sequence directly out of Premiere as an XDCam 422 clip (delivery format needed for the client) and the exported file contained red flashes. We went back to the timeline and it had red flashes, and the clip in question had red flashes when viewed directly! WTF?!
So we deleted the clip again, and re-imported it. Played fine with no red flashes. Put it on the timeline - no red flashes. This time we exported the timeline as an AVC-I 100, and the exported file had no flashes. As a test we went back and exported the timeline again as XDCam 422...and red flashes on the exported file, AND the timeline and original clip had red-flashes as well.
Could it be something with XDCam and/or MPEG compressed clips in general? We've only done one more test with AVC-I (which was successful) but I'm not confident enough yet to say that exporting as AVC-I is a consistent workaround. -
CS3 exporting drop outs and red screen flashes when exporting via Media Encoder
Hi forum
I have been using Premiere Pro CS3 for a long time on my dual core PC with no issues. Suddenly, I am now getting a major issue i MUST get sorted asap for a client is waiting for the final video.
It is a HDV (1080i, 25fps) project/timeline. An 8 minute video has been put together in this and every time I try to export as either MPEG2 (Blu Ray) or WMV, I am getting pixelation in certain places usually around certain cuts, or horrible red blocky pixels filling up the screen for a second or two. They seem to come always at the same point. They don't happen when i render the timeline or show up when playing the edit itself in the timeline - just when i playback the exported video in premiere or in Windows Media Player.
To try a workaround I exported the whole video as high quality MPEG2 (blu ray - 30mbps), which I brought into a new sequence, then I exported small sections where this problem was happening as Uncompressed Microsoft AVI and called them "patch 1", "patch 2" etc. and brought them back in and overlayed over where the problems were occuring. The short Uncompressed AVI patches seem to have exported with no glitches, so theoretically I thought I had a clean good timeline in my new sequence made up of the MPEG 2 video overlayed in the dodgy places with uncompressed AVI "patches". However, trying to export a new MPEG 2 master from this has created the same problems, in the same places!!! Still drop outs and still those horrid red flashes filling the screen. Not always as bad, and some places where there were problems are ok, but I am still left with most of the problems still there.
I am now trying to export the whole video as an AVI uncompessed but dont know if this will work and will take a very long time.
I do have Saphire plugins, but they are not being used in this new sequence so therefore could that be a possible problem? I thought perhaps it was the brightness/contrast filter etc so removed that from some of the problem areas, and it helped on some of them, but not on others, so not sure its anything to do with my plug in or filters.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks, JamesThis topic is about a year old, but I thought I would reply because I just experienced this problem very recently and stumbled upon an easy solution.
Problem: When using Adobe Media Encoder to create an HD or .m2v video file, a bright red screen will flash followed by a mashup of red blocks/pixels somewhere within the file you've just encoded. This phenomenon lasts for exactly 10 frames before clearing up. Most likely, you won't see this problem until you import the encoded file into Adobe Encore. It shows up on the timeline, the preview monitor and the DVD itself. It occurs on edits that the system reads as being corrupt or when a flash bulb goes off from a still camera. Both instances make the encoding process go haywire.
Solution: Encode your HD or .m2v file with CBR (1-pass) bitrate encoding rather than VBR (2-pass). Don't worry about losing any quality in your video or creating unnecessarily large file sizes with your new renders. I guarantee you won't see much of a difference, if any. I can't explain why this solution works. It just does.
Hope this helps you as much as it did me. -
Getting red noise on all my exports from media encoder.
I have had CS4 for a while now on PC. It has worked great until recently. Everything I export out of premier via media encoder gets this quick random red stamp looking noise that flashes periodically through my video. I have been exporting AVI, and I can't remember if it has happened while exporting any other format. I have included a frame from my video of what it looks like. Any suggestions?
Brad,
To restate what you have said - and to make sure I'm on the right page with you:
You have two types of Assets: MOV raw, Captured in FCP and Lagarith AVI Exported from AE. Both play fine outside of PrPro (.MOV's slightly pixelated in QT Player) and both Import and play fine within PrPro. The problems come, when you Export from PrPro. Is this correct?
As a test, have you tried other Export schemes from PrPro, such as DV-AVI? This is only as a test, as it will obviously not be what you ultimately need.
Just curious. Good luck,
Hunt
[Edit] going back to the OP, I see that it has been an Export as .AVI (which AVI CODEC?), that seems to have caused this. Can you try maybe an MPEG-2 Export? -
Red frames when exporting mfx from new media encoder
I edit TV programs each week that are mastered as MXF comps. Updated to premiere pro 8.2 (MacPro Late 2013) yesterday. Now when I export a program using the updated Media Encoder que, I'm getting full page red frames intermittently. How can I go back to the previous release? I can't wait for the bugs to be worked out.
This should guide you through rolling back: Install a previous version of any Creative Cloud application

Red Giant's DeNoiser II in Premiere CS6?
I usually use Neat Video but I do not own the Premiere version so I thought I'd give Red Giant's noise reduction a try. I'm impressed with the quality but find that with a few instances of the plugin on clips Premiere slows so much that just making changes to the plugin settings is not very functional without long pauses. I tested the Neat video limited version and it does not have this problem. Am I doing someting wrong? I have an i7, 12gb of ram and a 570 card. Other Red Giant plugins like Colorista and Looks work fine for me.
Thanks, MarcI played around with it some more and read about other people having the same issues. It's slow as molasses not just during rendering but even when trying to make adjustments or turn the effect on and off. I ended up buying a Neat Video license for Premiere which seems to work with no problems.

YET ANOTHER MEDIA ENCODER WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL THREAD
Read the other threads concerning Media Encoder crashing on start up and no solution worked for me.
I have Creative Cloud. I have a brand new Macbook Pro - 10.9.1.
I have tried uninstalling all Creative Cloud applications and running the Adobe Cleaner. Reinstalled and Media Encoder still doesn't work. I have tried deleting preference files. Still no good. I have read and write access to the Adobe Folder.
I did read that initially Red Giant software was causing a problem. I had installed Red Giant Color Suite because I had a license for MOJO. I unistalled the Color Suite after I read there was a problem. I also have the Shooter Suite because I use Plural Eyes. I don't need MOJO really, but I have to have Plural Eyes. It is still installed.
I have read through the several threads on this same topic and I think tried everything.
Without Media Encoder, the rest is useless - if I can't deliver to clients! Brand new computer just got yesterday.
Any other ideas?
thanks,
JET

I did this on a system level. On a whim I changed the sharing & permissions for staff and everyone. At this point I am sure you can guess that it worked after. AME launched just fine and I was able to quickly import and export into AME stand alone, as well as have it launch from Premiere and export from there. Thanks to Dima Tikhonov for making me go back and take another look at that.
So… problem solved. I meant to immediately get on the forum to say what happened for the fix, but I was so excited to get everything working on my new computer I dove head first into sorting through five hours of footage I shot yesterday morning.
THANKS Adobe Forum!

Since new update - Adobe Media Encoder and CUDA not working
CUDA not launching - Premier CC says that only software will work. Media encoder crashes on launch. Re-installed both.
Nvidia 670 GTXWhat version of Premiere Pro? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Pro CS5.5 with the 5.5.2 update).
Premier Version 7.2.2 (33)
Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
Problem started after I installed the software updated
What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
Windows 7 Ultimate - SP1
What kind(s) of source footage? When telling about your source footage, tell us about the codecs, not just the container types. For example, "H.264 in a .mov container", not just "QuickTime".
REDCODE .r3d from R1 - RedCode 28
If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
Adobe Media Encoder Has Crashed - please contact your system administrator. This graphics card is not supported, CUDA disabled.
What were you doing when the problem occurred?
Booting premier pro, opening a new project, when trying to render using the encoder
Has this ever worked before?
Yes worked fine before 7.2.2 update
What other software are you running?
Chrome, Media Player
Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed?
RED Giant Universe is installed
Tell us about your computer hardware. Be especially certain to tell us about third-party I/O hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox, Blackmagic, MOTU).
i7 3930k 12 Core, Nvidia 670 GTX 4GB, 32GB Corsair 1866 RAM, RAID HDD
Are you using Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration?
YES - Nvidia 670GTX video card
Does the problem only happen with your final output, with previews, or both?
Problem Occurs when rendering the final output for the Medi Encoder and the GPU issue when I open a new project that used to use Mercury
I also cannot seem to find the file within Premier Pro for "supported Cards" - I had this issue before and I just added my card to this list, this list seems to be missing.
Thank you.
