Media Encoder CC x64 not opening

I get the error "Adobe Media Encoder CC has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I have a GeForce GTX 760 (if that matters).
Media Encoder won't start via After Effects Export or by starting Media Encoder on it's own.

The error I get is: "Adobe Media Encoder CC has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." ... no crash info.
I'm on PC using Windows 7.
The GeForce GTX 760 upgrade was to version 331.93
The stop working message occurs as Media Encoder is loading the Quicktime.prm
I do purge memory and cache before kicking off the export. However, this happens if I'm just opening Media Encoder.
Is their a way to reinstall Media Encoder?

  • Media Encoder CC 2014 not encoder in parallel mode.

Media encoder cc normally render in parallel.
    Media Encoder 2014 will not.
    Why?
2014 How do I render in parallel?

That doesn't answer any of my questions.
    1. Are those custom or system presets?
        - If system presets, what are they?
        - If custom, could you specify the basic settings of that preset?
    2. Are you exporting to Dolby in any of those presets?
    3. Is "Enable Parallel Encoding" checkbox checked in preferences?
The reason I ask is because we purposely don't allow parallel encoding with some combinations of settings and obviously if you disabled parallel encoding in the prefs, it will not work.

  • FLVs created with ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER CS6 do not display thumbnails in ADOBE BRIDGE CS6

Could you please attempt to shed some light on why FLVs created with ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER CS6 do not display thumbnails in ADOBE BRIDGE CS6, yet apple finder is able to display thumbnails for these same FLVs without issue?
I'm running CS6 Production Premium with ALL updates installed on 10.6.8
I appreciate any input and help provided the input is provided by someone who either
    A) knows the answer because they actually work for adobe
    B) actually tried this themselves before attempting to provide a solution
If the conclusion is that it is a codec issue or a header issue with the FLVs You'd have to present a very strong case to back that claim up as it makes no sense whatsoever that CS6 is unable to generate thumbnails for media encoded using CS6, yet Apple finder can without issue. NOT to mention the FLVs in question are CREATED on the same machine with the same codecs installed that is trying to generate previews in Bridge.
Apologies if my frustration is showing, I've gotten and seen several... incompetent replies on this forum regarding this issue and it has never been actually addressed properly as far as I can tell by Adobe support.

We are all just incompetent users here.  As pointed out before this is just a user to user forum, Adobe rarely checks in.
I was hoping by now you would have gotten to the bottom of this problem and were offering a solution.

    Vegas Bill - 01:34pm Sep 3, 2008 Pacific
I have not been able to get the Canon XH-A1 to be recognized

also stating the video size from the device is wrong size error.
I get this on both XP and Vista Prem
Any ideas of how to get this beast to connect live through

  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 and Media Encoder CC 2014 not completing encode.

This is a project that I have been successfully encoding in short segments until now.  Now when encoding, session runs about 10-15 minutes and then ends without error messages.
Removing effects and changing to Mercury PB Engine SW did not help.
Also tried disabling metadata as suggested in another forum.
When CUDA used, logged as "Encoding failed."  When Mercury SW used, logged as "File Successfully Encoded" even though video file is only 6 KB with no content.

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
    8 GB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 610 (9.18.13.3788)

I am having a similar problem.
Premiere Pro CC 2014 suddenly decided to crash every time I export to either Adobe Media Encoder or within Premiere itself.
The encode will usually go for 5-10 minutes before the programs either spits out a "serious error has occurred" window, or it just sits there frozen until I force quit.
I did find a work-around for the moment. If I open AME and FILE > OPEN, select my project and then the sequence I want, AND put it in Software render mode, it will work.
My timeline is 2K, 58 minutes in 23.976
Only effects applied are Lumetri LUTs - no third party.
I've exported as recently as a week ago without issue.
Running OSX 9.5 on an X99 board
    3.75 GHz 8-core
    64GB 2400 MHz RAM
    EVGA Titan Black 6GB
Because I can get my renders out, I am not too concerned. Either there is something wonky with my timeline that screws with any graphics enabled rendering, or there is a bug that is have the same effect. I will try rendering on another of my edit bays that utilizes a GTX 580 that I KNOW works. The Titan is pretty new to my workflow.
Thanks Adobe, for checking this out.

  • Media Encoder CS6 won't open at all...

I posted awhile back... with no response. I'm trying again as I am, desperate to get this resolved.
I installed CS6 MAster Suite on my Windows 7 PC... when I try to open Media Encoder NOTHING happens... a quick spin of the little blue arrow... and nothing.  I've tried deleting the preferences XML file... it has no effect.
Anybody experience this and find a way to resolve it?  Thanks in advance  for any input...

Try holding down CTRL + ALT + SHIFT while launching AME, that's another way to clear prefs.  If that doesn't work, try deleting these two folders (NOTE: this will delete any custom presets or workspaces you've created):
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\6.0\
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\AME\6.0\

  • Problem Encoding WMV to FLV with Media Encoder CS4 (but not with CS3)

    Hello,
I have been attempting to encode some WMV files with Flash Media Encoder CS4 (I have Adobe Creative Suite CS4 installed) but it has failed, generating this error:
    - Source File: C:\Documents and Settings\usf\Desktop\incoming\ch01.wmv
    - Output File: C:\Documents and Settings\usf\Desktop\incoming\ch01_3.flv
    - Preset Used: Custom
    - Video: 624x343, Same as source [fps]
    - Audio: MPEG Layer III (MP3), 128 [kbps], Stereo
    - Bitrate: VBR, 400.00 [kbps]
    - Encoding Time: 00:06:36
    5/28/2010 11:26:16 AM : Encoding Failed
    Error compiling movie.
    Unknown error.
On another computer where Adobe Media Encoder CS3 is installed (with Creative Suite CS3), I experience no such problem.  I do notice that when I add the WMV to Adobe Media Encoder CS3, it opens a window that prompts me to use "ffdshow", which will apparently work if it's configured to decode the file.  I click "OK" and start the queue in the encoder.  A few minutes later I get a successfully encoded FLV file.
I have come to question whether Adobe Media Encoder CS4 should be re-installed, whether the entire Suite should re-installed, or if there is some patch or fix I can install somewhere.  Adobe Media Encoder CS4 is installed on my "production" computer which also has Adobe Premiere Pro (CS3) and Adobe Premiere Elements (7).
    Could use some advice here.
    Glen
P.S.  the files will also not export to FLV using Adobe Premiere or Premiere elements...

Again, the reason we are capturing with Windows Media Encoder is because we tried using Live Flash Encoder to capture directly into flash but our equipment wasn't fast enough and it was dropping frames all over the place.  We also don't have the space to capture into an uncompressed format because we don't have the available storage, and our events can be 8 hours long or more (each video is about 15 minutes, 20 or more videos)
Ive listened to everything in my workflow and it sounds fine until the outputted FLV file from AME.
WME is capturing at the following specs:
160kbps 48KHz Windows Media Audio 9.2 codec (stereo) 1 pass CBR
    1800kbps 1 pass CBR video
    29.97 fps
    640x360 resolution
    buffer size: 5 seconds
    key frame interval: 8 seconds
I have verified this with a codec info utility I ran on the wmv files.
AME is encoding with the following specs:
    FLV Multiplexing
    On2 VP6 codec
    620x360 resolution
    800kbps 2 pass VBR
    100% undershoot at best quality
    160kbps stereo MP3 audio
I verified the above with the same codec info utility (gspot 2.70a) and it is all acurate, it also told me that the audio is at 44.1KHz rather than 48 (there was no place to specify this, is this a limitatino of the VP6 codec?)
Yes, these are our source assets.  They're being captured either through an XL2 via firewire, or from an analog program feed converted to firewire via a Canopus converter box.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to get rid of this, or a different encoder (either to capture with rather low cpu resources, or to encode into flash) let me know.  I can provide a sample of the clipping if you need
    Thanks,
    Peter

  • Adobe Media Encoder crashes when I open a file

Adobe Media Encoder crashes when I browse to open a file.

Yes, I am trying to utilize Photoshop CS (8.0) and I run Windows 7.1. I installed this from Adobe's Creative Cloud. The program opens, and I am able to open a Photoshop file with it, but then Windows tells me that there is a problem and is shutting down. I'm not sure would the problem might be.

  • Media encoder queue option not available...

    Hi
I just watched a video on after effects on a mac where under the COMPOSITION menu there was an option to send the currently selected composition to the adobe media encoder in addition to the usual add to render queue. I however do not have this extra option (send to adobe media encoder available) I am on windows vista 64 bit. any ideas why?
    cheers!
    angus

    Angus:
Whoever posted that video made it using a pre-release version and shouldn't have posted a video capture from that. That menu item doesn't exist in After Effects CS4.
That said, the Adobe Media Encoder can now also be used as a standalone application. Even better, if you have Production Premium (or Master Collection) you can open After Effects compositions directly in AME using Dynamic Link. This means AME can be encoding AE compositions while you keep working in After Effects. Of course, if you're not using a multi-core machine with a ton of RAM you are not going to have a smooth experience :)

  • Media Encoder CC will not install with PPCC on Mac OS 10.9

After numerous tries after updating to Mavericks to install Media Encoder CC, it has failed each time. When trying to render projects in Premiere Pro CC a screen pops up that says I am using an old version of Media Encoder and need to update so I go to update and is says I have the most current version. I also have Media Encoder CS6 installed on this Mac which shows up under Applications but MECC does not. So, I have tried about three times to unistall Premiere Pro CC via the CC Cleaner Tool and upon reinstall, MECC still does not show up. Any thoughts?

Moving this discussion to the Adobe Media Encoder forum.
A/V Warrior I would recommend reviewing your installation logs to verify that no installation errors occurred.  Please see Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html for information on how to locate and interpret your installation log files.  Please feel free to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.
Also in case it is applicable can you please provide the specifics regarding the computer hardware you are running Premiere Pro CC and the Adobe Media Encoder on?  Please see http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/tech-specs.html for a guide of the hardware specifics which may be applicable.  You will also want to verify that you meet or exceed the system requirements.

  • Media Encoder CS6 does not always "Use Previews"

I've attempted several transcodes using pre-rendered timelines in Premiere Pro. Media encoder does not always use the preview files despite the appropriate box being checked. • Media Encoder CS4 does not work

CS4 Windows 7 Media Encoder does not work!?
From PremierePro to the Encoder (fullHD to MPEG2)
The encoder is very slow and stops after time.
And I see that the encoder try to make a .mpg file but it also makes .m2v and .mpa. in the same time?
    What to do???

You'll have better luck asking such questions in the Premiere and AME forums.... Could simply be running out of temp disk space or a problem with teh Media Cache.... anyway, ask the pros...

  • Export (Premiere CC 2014 & Media Encoder CC 2014) not using 100% of CPU

Hey all, had this problem for a while now, Adobe CC 2014 just doesn't want to utilise my CPU, thus taking a 3min clip to encode forever (god forbid I use any effects or a 3 minute clip encodes for over 5hours - no not a joke) it doesn't matter if I use the built in encoder in Premiere or use the Media Encoder. I've seen that many people struggle with this but no-one has supplied a solution not at least oen that I could find. Does anybody know a workaround? Just to throw in some numbers here. A same project file, with the same export settings with the same source files and on the same computer of course; 1 hour and 21min clip encodes in 2 hours and 24min (h264 2pass encode with 35mbit stream) in CS6, with CC 2014 it takes 6 hours and 49 min and that is just preposterous.
As can be seen from the screenshot Adobe CC 2014 is only using about 50% of my CPU thus encoding slower. I wonder if there is a way to tell Adobe to just use all of the resources that are given to it?

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 not recognising opacity/alpha values from After Effects

Hello, I'm importing AE compositions directly into Media Encoder to output as 'Match Source - Medium Bitrate H.264' files. However Media Encoder is not recognising the opacity values of the layers in AE and the background images are coming out as opaque rather than partially transparent.
How can I resolve this? If I render the movie from AE as a .mov then use Media Encoder it works fine, but that takes a lot more time.

Can you post screenshots of your comp in After Effects and the result you are getting from AME?
One issue you may be hitting is that AME is not aware of the composition background color. This is a limitation of Dynamic Link; because a primary use case of Dynamic Link is placing an After Effects composition, such as lower-thirds titles, into a Premiere Pro sequence, Dynamic Link ignores the background color of the composition and treats any the background pixels as alpha. In AME, since there is no compositing happening, black is used to fill in the alpha area.
To work around this limitation, place a solid at the bottom of your composition layer stack that is the color of your background.
