Media Encoder CS4 won't launch

Hello,
I am trying to use Media Encoder CS4 but it will not launch. It seems to get hung up on "ImporterQT.bundle".
I am on a Mac G5 Dual 2.5 GHz Power PC running OSX 10.5.7
Please help! I'm on a really tight deadline.
Thanks!

ImporterQT.bundle may be missing or corrupt
uninstall Media Encoder using the package in \Applications\Utilities\Adobe Installers
then reinstall.

  • Media Encoder CS4 won't update - Mac

I have CS4 and Adobe media encoder 4.1.0 will not update,
I have downloaded it via software update and then it installs and after a check of software update it asks me to update exactly what I just updated.
Does anyone know how I can sort this issue out?

    Hi Jagan,
    Thanks for the response.
After installing the CS4 Design Suite Premium, I moved all the apps/folders to a newly-created "Adobe" folder inside my applications folder. I always ran the Updater to check and download the updates. I didn't pay attention to the success of the updates, since they always ended with a dialog box that said "Finished". It's only when I noticed that it was downloading the Media Encoder update over and over again, that I got suspicious. When I looked in my Applications folder, The "Apple" folder I created was still there, but there was also a new "Media Encoder CS4" folder, which was not there before.
I deleted this new "Media Encoder CS4" folder and ran Updater again. Updater then downloaded the new version and installed it. Unfortunately, the Media Encoder CS4 in my "Apple" folder was not updated to the new version, but that duplicate Media Encoder CS4 folder was back
I browsed through the other messages here about update problems, and I decided to re-install the Media Encoder CS4. I trashed the duplicate folder and put in the DVD. In order to re-install the Media Encoder, I had to also re-install Flash CS4. I did so, then ran the Updater again (I did not change the location of any of the re-installed programs prior to the update). Lo and behold, Media Encoder was updated correctly! I continued the remaining updates to get my software back to the current versions. I thought I was home-free, but unfortunately I wasn't
Although Media Encoder was updated correctly, now Drive Manager and Acrobat Reader are not getting updated. The update installer says that the updates completed successfully, but when I run the Updater again, it identifies those same 2 programs as needing updates.
I downloaded the updates manually, but installing them did not update the programs.
If you have any other ideas, I would greatly appreciate it!
    Mike

  • Media Encoder CC won't launch

I've been succesfully working with media encoder for sometime now but it won't start for some reason. Using Mac OS 10.6.8, icore 7 proc, 16gb RAM, Encoder CC 6.0.2 what's causing this?

Thanks, It started working after I logged into my Adobe account. Curious if that had anything to do with it. I also tried a few options (similar to this) I found in the forum which didn't help until I restarted. Not sure which one did it but it's all good now. Thanks!

After recently updating, Media Encoder will not launch.  I have tried searching for "watched folders" xml, which many say solved this issue for them on Windows, but cannot find any such file in ML.
    Any suggestions?

Having the same issue.  Can someone from Adobe PLEASE address this?!
Icon starts bouncing and freezes on "Loading ExportQuickTimeHost.bundle"
Icon eventually stops bouncing and no response from application.
I have tried deleting prefs, etc.   Tried reinstalling 6.0.1 update.  Nothing changes.

  • Media Encoder CS4 Won't Properly Encode M4V to F4V Past 71 Minutes

    MacBook Pro 10.6.4
    AME CS4 v. 4.2.0.006
My .m4v video is ~2.64G and ~90 minutes long and plays properly in iTunes 10.0.1, QuickTime Pro 7, and QuickTime X.  AME encodes it as an .f4v file without error, but after ~71 minutes of playback, both audio and video become erratic.  You can see its malfunctioning state at http://webergraphicdesign.com/seankowal/seankowal.html
Others have posted this identical issue (in mutliple forums), but I found no solutions posted:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2746868#2746868

I created the .flv and .swf files and referenced the .f4v file, and, as expected, the movie starts playing erratically after ~71 minutes when viewing it in a browser.
I also created separate .flv and .swf files that referenced the original .m4v file (since I know this plays properly), but, for some reason, it won't autoplay in a browser (even though I have verified that it is set to autoplay:true); it attempts to preload the entire video before playing it (and nobody wants to wait for a 2.6+G file to download).
Yes, I've deleted AME Preferences multiple times.
In AME, I've used the following configuration for the .m4v to .f4v format conversion:
    Format:  FLV/F4V
Preset:  Same as source (Flash 9.0.R115 and Higher)
    Mulitplexing:  F4V
VIDEO (I used the defaults, and did not re-size the movie):
    Bitrate Encoding:  VBR, 1 Pass
    Target Bitrate [MPS]:  1.5
    Maximum Bitrate [MPS]:  2
    AUDIO:
    Codec:  AAC
Output Channels: Stereo (I've also tried as Mono)
    Frequency:  44.1 kHz
Audio Quality:  High (I've also tried as Low, but only when I chose Mono)
    Bitrate [kbps}:  128
I've already tried exporting the .m4v as a .fla from QuickTime, QuickTime Pro, and, yes, iMovie but the quality of the output is significantly inferior, even when using the "high quality" settings.
I also just tried using Flash Media Playback, but it gives an error when I point it at the .m4v file.  It recognizes my .f4v file, but that doesn't help since the problem lies with the .f4v itself.
As you might expect with a project of this size, it's extremely time-consuming to have to troubleshoot this issue through trial-and-error, particularly since the encoding/uploading takes ~4 hours per try.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions on how to get my .m4v file to properly encode as a .f4v file.

I'll try to explain all details:
    MacPro 1.1 (mid 2006) under Mac OS X 10.4.11 (Darwin 8.11.1 kernel)
System files: journaled HFS+ and a unix based NAS (under samba connection)
I have all material on the NAS and also I make the transcoding over it. Is a simple mov containing DV PAL WIDE interlaced 25fps with stereo audio. typical settings with nothing out of DV PAL standard.
The version of MediaEncoder CS4: 4.2.0.006 (it happens with older versions too)
    The settings of MediaEncoder are:
    Audio: AAC stereo 44,1 kHz
Video: F4V. MainConcept H.264, fps like source, profile high, level 4,1. CBR compression.
The problem only appears with videos longer than 71 minuts. At 01:11 starts with crazy problems. It seems like the player have some read or problems.
Tell me if you need some other kind of information.

  • Media encoder CS4 can't do what Flash Encoder CS3 does????

    Quad 2.66 Xeon MacPro / OS 10.5.8 / CS4 all updates applied. / 24GB RAM
Adobe Media Encoder CS4 won't import .wmv videos.
Flash CS3 Media Encoder does it just fine.
What's the deal? Why remove the support?
I do have Flip4Mac installed as well as Perian. Any chance these items allow the CS3 encoder to work, but not the CS4?

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS4 runtime error

I am wondering why I am getting a runtime error while
attempting to use Adobe Media Encoder CS4...As soon as I launch
Adobe Media Encoder CS4, it crashes I have installed and
reinstalled Flash a couple time, to see if this corrects the
problem, which it doesn't, and just last week it was working
fine...Does anybody have a ideal what is going on?

Don't know if this helps anyone else, bt the runtime errors i have been getting occur when I try to build and burn a blu-ray file. And they happen intermittently. In fact, on this project, I had burned several test blu-rays without difficulty. When I made one minor change on the penultimate version, and tried to burn again, the system crashed with a run time error. Then it crashed 9 more times over the course of the week.
Finally in frustration, I created an interim ISO file in Encore- ie in the build workstream, i selected burn an image file rather than burning a blu-ray disk. After this intermediate step completed, i then did a separate burn in encore but burned from the image file. No snags.
Not sure why but this program has trouble doing a sequence of activities. As it is, I already render and save the file before burning. Now I have another interim step to create an image file before burning.
In my next hardware change, I am going to switch to make Mac and Apple software. Enough of MS Windows and Adobe, the GM and Chrysler of the software industry. Hopefully what my friends tell me is true; that Apple stuff actually works.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS4 error

    Hi,
I've just purchased Flash CS4 and tried the "Adobe Media Encoder CS4" that comes with it.
When attempting to launch it, I get this (see attachement) error and the program doesn't launch.
Anyone aware of the cause of this error ? How I could get it resolved etc..
    Thanks in advance.

    Any update on this?
I get WinFile.cpp-754 on CS4 and WinFile.cpp-785 on CS5 trying to encode the same AVI file.
I'm trying to load a 59.94 fps AVI file into PremierPro CS4 and need to convert it to something else (correct?)

Hi there, I have a trial version of elearning suite 2.5 and I have the error "Thank you for using Adobe Media Encoder CS4. The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated. Please launch and activate that Adobe product before continuing to use Media Encoder". My searching points me to a full reinstall, but is there an easier fix? Currently running Mac OS 10.5.8. Thanks.

  • Using Adobe Media Encoder CS4 for MTS files

Hey everyone, I did some searching on this topic to no avail so here I am.
Anyway, I recently got an HD camcorder that records in 1080i AVCHD.
I have no problems getting the MTS files off of my camera but as I'm sure you can imagine, working with those files is a whole other issue.
I've found that Adobe Media Encoder CS4 works great in encoding these files to QuickTime format (.mov) but the problem is that the resulting file size is actually bigger than the original MTS file which is unacceptable, especially considering I'm encoding the files from 1920x1080 down to 1280x720.
Does anyone have any experience using AME CS4 to convert MTS files to a more workable 720p format for uploading to YouTube?
I've tried a number of different custom settings to no avail (where you see an "or" is where I've tried different options):
    Format: QuickTime
    Video Codec: MPEG4-Video or H.264
    Quality: 100
    Width: 1280
    Height: 720
    Frame Rate: 29.97 or 23.976
Field Type: Lower First or Upper First or Progressive
    Aspect: Square Pixels (1.0)
I won't list the audio options because I don't think that has any bearing on my problem.
Any ideas as to why the encoded file sizes are actually larger than the MTS file sizes?  Maybe AME CS4 is not what I should be using for this task?
    Thanks for your help,
    Tom

    I figured it out.
If you select H.264 as the format you can then select YouTube Widescreen HD for the preset.
This will set everything up to convert your MTS file to 720p and reduce the file size by around 30% with little quality degradation in my experience so far.
The only problem I encountered was the video was kind of choppy when the camera panned but that was remedied by upping the frame rate from 24 to 29.97.
Hope this helps someone and if anyone has any suggestions to improve efficiency or reduce file size post it in here.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS4 Encoding Error

I got an error when Adobe Media Encoder CS4 encoding which is the crash of ImporterProcessServer. It crashes the halfway of the encoding process. I restarted my comp and tried several times before but the results still the same. Sometimes ImporterProcessServer did not crash but the encoder failed compiling without any error.
    Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4GHZ
    RAM: 2GB
    OS: Win7 32bit
Graphic: Nvidia 8600 GeForce 512 mb

First thing to check is what is on the Timeline at about the 50% point. Do you have an odd Asset there?
Do you have a gap in the Video at about that point?
Then, do you have adequate defragmented free space on the destination HDD?
    Good luck,

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS4 doesn't encode audio

I'm having trouble getting the Adobe Media Encoder CS4 to
work properly. I have tried multiple files of different lengths but
end up with the same output. Nice video encoding, but the audio
starts and then cuts out after a couple of seconds. The longer the
video, the shorter the audio works. The logs don't report any
    issues. Anybody have any ideas?

I have the same problem just trying to crop an FLV. (Encoding from FLV to FLV on Snow Leopard).
The audio just dies about 5 seconds in (the clip is 28 seconds long).
Sucks. I wish I could find the original .mov
I wish I wasn't forced to recompress the audio.
I've tried various settings all night - most settings result in no audio whatsoever.
Also, Media Encoder alters the mod date of my original file. Why?
I'm really frustrated with this software.

  • F4v encoded with Adobe media encoder CS4 (longer than 71 minutes)

Hi I don't know if this is the correct place for this post. So apologies me if this is the wrong place.
Encoding with Adobe Media Encoder CS4 (4.2.0.006 and 4.0 too)
Source: MOV (DVPAL) longer than 71 minutes
    Dest: F4V (H.264)
Result: freezed frames and only plays audio at 01:11. Media Player goes crazy and starts showing some diferent parts freeze frames.
In Quicktime crashes, in VLC the same of MediaPlayer. Sometimes the audio starts to downsampling and sounds like the pitch goes down.
Totally agree with this other post: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/580391
    (extract)
I recentlly encoded afew F4V using Adobe Media Encoder Cs4.  MOst of them are working properly but I don't know why, all of my video that are longer than 71 minutes seems to have trouble playing back.  They all Freeze when they reach 71 minutes or if I navigate pass this point.
    thanks and help us please!
