Media Encoder CS6 won't open at all...
I posted awhile back... with no response. I'm trying again as I am, desperate to get this resolved.
I installed CS6 MAster Suite on my Windows 7 PC... when I try to open Media Encoder NOTHING happens... a quick spin of the little blue arrow... and nothing. I've tried deleting the preferences XML file... it has no effect.
Anybody experience this and find a way to resolve it? Thanks in advance for any input...
Try holding down CTRL + ALT + SHIFT while launching AME, that's another way to clear prefs. If that doesn't work, try deleting these two folders (NOTE: this will delete any custom presets or workspaces you've created):

Premiere Pro CS6 won't open at all
Premeire Pro CS6 won't open at all. It locks up when it says "Loading QuickLooks_AE10.plugin" and the entire program doesn't respond at all. I think I just did the latest Creative Cloud update for the Premiere CS6 family. How can I get it working again? I have so many videos to edit! Thanks!

Media Encoder CS6 won't render queued project from Pr CS6
What's up with Adobe? All of a sudden, Pr CS6 no longer works with AME. I Queue from Pr and AME launches with file in Queue. I press Render button, and it takes several minutes before anything shows up in a the Encoding tab. When it does, I get an endless "Connecting to Dynamic Link server..." message, before finally, after several minutes, it fails. Log states that it can't read the source file. I suspect this is a Dynamic Link issue, since the source file is exactly where the log says it should be. I've noticed recently that Dynamic Link hung up also when trying to send a clip to Ae to round trip effects back to Pr. I just ended up doing the work in Ae and imported it manually into Pr. So much for the heralded 'interoperability'. You spend a couple grand on CS6 Master Collection to have all the tools, and many of them have all kinds of issues. Au, for example, crashes 75% of the time when I open it. Reopen it again and it works fine. Ae often continually gives me 'program has stopped working' dialog with an option to quit, and many times it is talking about one of many instances it has launched in the background, and when I say 'quit', the main program I see just keeps on working. And now, out of the blue, Pr / AME queuing stopped working. It's worked since I installed CS6 over a year ago with no issues, with th elast time being about a month ago, now it doesn't. BTW, I'm on CS6 on an HP Z820. Win 7 Ultimate. And I tried all the solutions posted under the similar problem someone posted about the CC version. Confirmed that dynamiclinkmanager is running.

Huh?
If you can find something better than After Effects CC (12.2) with the Detail-Preserving Upscale effect for up-saling, I want to know what it is. -
Media Encoder CS6 won't launch - Mountain Lion
After recently updating, Media Encoder will not launch. I have tried searching for "watched folders" xml, which many say solved this issue for them on Windows, but cannot find any such file in ML.
Any suggestions?
I am running:
Mountain Lion
Mac Pro 2009
18gb ram
2.66 8-core
128gb Intel SSD as main drive
Creative Cloud CS6
All other adobe apps run fine after update.Having the same issue. Can someone from Adobe PLEASE address this?!
Icon starts bouncing and freezes on "Loading ExportQuickTimeHost.bundle"
Icon eventually stops bouncing and no response from application.
I have tried deleting prefs, etc. Tried reinstalling 6.0.1 update. Nothing changes.
Thank you!
I am running:
Mountain Lion - 10.8.2
Mac Pro 2008 Mac 3,1
16gb ram
3.0 Ghz 8-core
1TB Main drive
128gb Samsung SSD for video cache
Production Premium CS6
All other adobe apps seem to run fine after update. -
Media Encoder CS6 won't uprez alpha channels
I have been trying to convert some files i created in both animation codec and AVID codec with alpha from 720p to 1080i/p but if i have the alpha set to rende, it creates a file with the video blown out and edges aliased. Same files if i turn the alpha off render (uprez) perfectly. these can be a lot of files, so i'm trying to run them all thru Media Encoder instead of tieing up AfterEffects. Any clues?
PS i am using the dynamic link functionality to render these movies

CC file saved in cs6, won't open with all layers in both versions
Hello there,
I really hope you could help me.
Recently i designed a scetch in illustrator CC and saved it as usual (without extra options).
Yesterday i worked on this same file in illustrator CS6, which i found acting weird but not paying attention and i saved it again as usual in the same file.
Today i wanted to work on it again in illustrator CS6, but there are missing layers and all the layers i made yesterday are grouped and are in clipping masks.
The worst part is i'm missing my sketch i made in illustrator CC!
I've tried to open the file in illustrator CC too but it shows exactly the same, no sketch and all layers grouped and in clipping masks.
I now know i had to save the file in illustrator CC with the extra options for multiple versions of illustrator
Could anybody help me?
The only positive thing is you can see the sketch etc. i made earlier in the preview when you want to open the file in illustrator cs6, that is why i hope it is not really gone! When opening a new file with an old version (CC file with CS6 in your case) you always open the PDF part of the file. In this PDF almost everything is flattened. There are no live effects, brushes or stuff. When you then edit this file in the legacy version and save you alo effectively delete any live stuff that once was there in the AI part of the file.
Please read this:
http://rwillustrator.blogspot.de/2006/11/whats-in-file.html
When you want to edit newer files in older versions you always have to downsave. And even then things might get flattened, depending on which version exactly you save down to which other version.
So unless you have a backup of the old file, your content is lost. -
Media Encoder CS6 won't make mpeg-2 files.
Like the title says. Specifically, MPEG2-DVD files. Premiere exports them just fine:
But when I hit "Queue" and go to AME, I get this:
And attempts to change the setting to my desired one are futile:
Googling the problem lead me to various threads on these forums, such as this one: https://forums.adobe.com/message/4402558 which directed me to download the latest update. I did that--I'm now running AME 6.0.2.81, and nothing's changed. The above screenshots were taken after the update was installed.
So, any further ideas?I'm having the same issue here...did you ever figure out the problem? I tried chatting with support but CS6 is no longer supported with chat, only Forums.
99% certain this is a licensing thing as I've had the MPeg 2 option dissapear from PP CS6 in the past which required a deactivation/reactivation of the software. Can't seem to get past this one this time though. -

Media Encoder CS6 always crashes when quitting
I'm running Media Encoder CS6 (6.0.1.31) and it seems to open and a run fine but it always crashes when quitting the app and prompts to send a report.
The installer was created using AAMEE and I need to deploy this to all of our users so unfortunately a simple suggestion of "uninstall and reinstall" won't work for us. I need a solution that will work for the network deployed version we're using.
Thanks

When I queue exports from Premiere CS6, Media Encoder totally ignores any custom export settings, and chooses some completely different system defined default settings, which I did not choose in Premiere. In previous versions Premiere would always pass the encoding settings to the Media Encoder.
Update: When I tried to import the custom settings into Adobe Media Encoder, I got an error message: "Preset could not be imported. No exporter found for this preset." Then I've realized, that AEM doesn't even have a QuickTime export format!!! Actually it offers only 4 export formats: H.264 (MP4), FLV, F4V, and MP3. Then, when I queue an export with Premiere with one of those 4 formats, then AEM would accept it. Anything else - it just wouldn't work!!! So wait - am I missing something, or I literally cannot queue any other common format exports with AEM??? I need to work with MOV, AVI, AIFF, WAV etc. files, which all aren't accepted by the Media Encoder... Or am I missing something???
This is ridiculous. I am becoming quite fed up with Premiere CS6 bundle - in 20 minutes I have found already 4 diferent features, that worked in previous versions, and work no more in CS6
I don't know how it worked in CS5.5 - anybody?I have found the solution in another thread!!! It's here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4503096
1. Open this file:
On MAC: /Applications/Adobe Media Encoder CS6/Adobe Media Encoder CS6.app/Contents/Resources/txt/AddExporterList.txt
On PC: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS6\txt\AddExporterList.txt
2. Back it up to some other location.
3. Then delete everything from it and paste this:
# MediaCore Plugins
# AME Plugins
AudioWriter
WinMediaWriter
# AME Plugin Formats
MPEG4
H.264 Blu-ray
4. Save it, and relaunch Media Encoder - voila! It worked for me and many others. -
Adobe Media Encoder CS6 Random Crashing Mid-Render
Hello -
I've been dealing with this issue for enough months and across enough computers to finally seek out some advise here, hope it works out...
Basically I've got a 2 hour long film that I've been trying to export using Adobe Media Encoder CS6. It's never made it all the way through. I can usually skim through the generated quicktime file up to the point where the crash occurred. I've tried using that as a reference to check out my sequence in Premiere but there is never anything suspicious going on there. Most frustratingly the crash occurs randomly. Sometimes it will go through 10 minutes of the film; sometimes an hour. Regardless I get a crash with a report that has no specific information.
Footage:
r3d - Various resolutions, all being cut in a 2048x1152 sequence.
Quicktime mov - ProRes4444 for the most part.
Machine(s):
I had been attempting to render this for the past few months with a Macbook Pro running OSX 10.8.4 w/ 16GB RAM, 2.7 GHz Intel i7, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024MB - never made it through a render longer than 50 minutes of the 2 hours.
We recently got one of the new 2013 Mac Pro systems running OSX 10.9 w/ 16GB RAM, 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5, AMD FirePro D500 3072 MB
The hope was that this new powerful machine would overcome the issues we were running into with these renders. Since I'm posting this now you can probably figure out that it didn't really work out that way...
Software:
AME- 6.0.2.81
Premiere - 6.0
I know there are updates to be used here, but whenever I update Premiere from just 6.0, the project itself becomes a buggy mess, crashing constantly. I also run Creative Cloud and have tried to just jump over to Premiere CC hoping all my problems would vanish, but instead, I again get a buggy project that constantly crashes. The only version of Premiere that seems to work with this project is 6.0, so general updates have not been useful (and instead damaging, I've wasted several days trying everything I possibly can to make the project work in the updates).
Any help appreciated. Thanks. Thanks for the reply MMeguro.
Last night I was able to get my first full render through by doing a combination of things (so I'm not sure what did the trick in the end).
To answer some questions first, never attempted to do the FULL render directly out of Premiere, always switched over to AME for that, so that potentially could work too. Smaller renders have worked directly out of Premiere Pro, but they've also worked out of AME.
The initial render attempts that had been failing for the last few months were on the MBP which did not support GPU accleration due to an incompatible graphics card. I assumed the issue must be tied to something else because of this and was using it on the renders with the new 2013 Mac Pro. Using the workflow of Pr6.0, AME 6.0 and GPU rendering turned ON, I was failing to render to both Quicktime h264 and ProRes 422.
What worked for last night's render:
1. Convert Pr6.0 project to PrCC project (when I've done actual editing in CC after converting this project it tends to crash, but I figured just generating the project itself without doing any editing in it might satisfy what I was attempting to do).
2. Open AME CC and import PrCC Sequence. Used custom ProRes 422 setting.
3. Turned OFF GPU acceleration.
So as long as I the PrCC project I create stays stable long enough to save it (without crashing, which has been a problem with that Pr6.0 to PrCC conversion) then it seems like this will work. Kind of an annoying couple extra steps but I'm just out of my mind glad that I can actually render this thing finally. We're still in the rough stages so being able to turn around a review version within a day is very important.
Wish I could do more tests to figure out exactly which combination actually made this work for the benefit of others, but can't afford to do multiple 10 hour+ renders with random crash times.
Anyway, thanks again for the reply MMeguro much appreciated. -
Premiere Pro CS6 and Media Encoder CS6 Color shift on export
Hello,
I am working on an early 2008 Mac Pro with 2 X 3.2 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon Processors 32 GB of RAM a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB Graphics Card and I am running OS X 10.8.2.
I have the updated Version of Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and Media Encoder CS6 through the awesome Subscription program that Adobe has started.
My footage is shot with the Canon 1D Mark IV shot 1920X1080 at 24 FPS
I am importing the camera files and then exporting them after I cut them up in to Quicktime Pro Res 422 HQ files
With the technical explination out of the way here is my problem. I have color right from the camera files that I like. and with out doing any thing to change the color I export the footage and get a dramatic color shift. The exported file looks desaturated and slightly green.
I have tried using Media Encoder CS6 to export my footage and that has the same result.
I started my career as a photographic retoucher and use photoshop and light room constantly so I am pretty confident that i know color. I also calibrate my Lacie 526 and Lacie 324i montiors monthly as well as have a sensor that will slightly shift the profile depending on the time of day.
I have attached three screen shots that show the color shift exactly. Now what I need is a solution. What I am not seeing is color settings for Premiere. I am totally open to any suggestions on what I might be doing incorrectly.

I've been doing this for a few years now, and have come to some conclusions. Basically, the difference between still photography and video is like the difference between playing the trumpet and the sax. What you bring to the sax from playing trumpet is your ability to read music, what you know about composition, blending while playint with others, ect. But playing trumpet tells you nothing about how to physically play a sax. So it is with still photography and video.
For starters, your carefully calibrated computer monitor is just that, a computer monitor. It doesn't display the correct working space for video. What you need for WYSIWYG in video is a monitor that can show you the Rec.709 working space. Rec.709 has a different gamut, a different gamma, probably a different white point (D65), different phosphor colors, etc., etc., etc. Enought differences that it's difficult to make a computer monitor that can successfully display Rec.709. Yet there are a couple of computer monitors that can do this (a few Eizos, one HP). The vast majority of people doing serious color correction work in video use a production monitor for just this reason.
But a production monitor isn't enough. You also have to make sure that the signals you're sending the production monitor are correct. There's a sub-industry making signal converters for signals from NLE video cards (usually RGB based) -> signals for production monitors (usually YUV based).
That said, it is certainly possible to get a very good match between your NLE suite and a DVD / BD as displayed on an HDTV. But it's not as simple or easy as a calibrtated computer monitor for still photography use.
This is probably part of your problem. But Quicktime is probably the root of it. Quicktime is, well, I guess the polite way of saying it is that Quicktime is problematic. It gives all kinds of problems. Most people have abandoned it. You should too. -
Having terrible issues bringing in a simple sequence into Media Encoder for a client preview output.
Issues: Sequence starts at 01:00:00:00 - Comprised of RED files back to back. About 43 minutes worth. I lay a Timecode generator on the video and all is working fine in Premiere.
When I open Media Encoder and bring in the session, the timecode is always off and defaults to 29.97 from 23.98 generating the wrong code in the new file and making the output worthless. Timecode generator doesn't match the embedded code nor does the start time. It's always off by about 3 seconds.
Don't know what to do. I never had problems in 5.5.
Hardware: MacPro 8 Core - 16 gig - 3 Quadro4000 cards, 1 RedRocket.
Any ideas or should I resinstall anything?
Thanks in advance!I know I'm a bit late to this discussion, but I'm brand new to Adobe Media Encoder CS6. I'm having the exact problem you described above -- a timecode starting at 1:00:03:18 instead of 1:00:00:00. I've been looking all over for this description of "dropness" you mentioned but have found nothing. I am trying to convert an APR 422 LT file to H294. I learned the rest of the application through Lynda.com, but have found nothing to fix this issue. Thx.

ERROR: DF024: Adobe Media Encoder CS6
I Have a 2012 Mac Pro running Mavericks. I started having issues with Premiere Pro after video card upgrade. I get the following error message when trying to reinstall CS6 Production Premium:

Media Encoder CS6 not working with Premiere
Hi
I have been merrily editing a lager job in Adobe Premiere CS6 and then queuing the time lines to export in media encoder CS6 done the entire job everything rendered fine then Bam all of a sudden when I try and render I get all the audio a couple of frames of video then just black!!
I have tried different codecs same result, I have tried different timelines same result, When I export directly out of Premiere without going through Media encoder all works fine, when I try encoding a file directly in media encoder works ok, It just seems to be the link between Premiere and Media encoder that not working as it should
Anyone got any ideas?
Hi Folks
Has no one had an issue exporting to Media encoder from Adobe Premiere CS6?Any chance this gets fixed soon? I'm shooting with an AF-100, and at this point I'm still using Final Cut to transcode my footage so I can have audio. I've also noticed the video jumps around even when it does have audio. Prelude has been extremely problematic for me, and it doesn't have a way to bring in clips that returned errors upon importing, I have to write down the clip numbers and bring them in individually. I've also tried just dropping the file structure from the card straight to the hard drive. It's a huge problem, and is keeping me from making the switch fully from FCP 7.
