That error can happen for many reasons...one of the reasons that I occassionaly get it is because I try exporting a movie to an external drive that has been formated in the old FAT32 instead of the NTSF standard.  FAT32 only allows for file sizes up to 2 gigs.  And as soon as it reaches that...I would get that error.  I don't know if that is why you are getting that error...but it would be easy to check.  1) are you generating a file that is over 2 gigs?  2) is your drive that you are exporting to FAT 32 (just right click the drive in My Computer and select "properties" then just look for what it says next to "file system".

    Adobe Media Encoder error [..\..\Src\RenderFrame.cpp-199]
I'm trying to utilize Prelude to actually TRANSCODE some R3D material.  Since R3D clips are spanned, Prelude can 'reassemble' them.  (I don't understand why AME can't do this since Prelude uses AME... but...)
I get this error when trying to start the transcode in Prelude... any help out there?
    Thanks!

  • Media Encoder error about activation when exporting in activated version of Premiere CS4

I get the following error when I try to export media in Premiere CS4 (Note: I have a legal and activated copy of CS4 Master Collection). In Premiere, it appears to go through (the loading progress bar fills and then disappears) but when I check the folder, it's empty. And then I notice that there's another icon in my taskbar and oh hey, it says "AMT Subsystem Error: Thank you for using Adobe Media Encoder CS5. The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated. Please launch and activate that Adobe product before continuing to use Media Encoder."
I'm using Windows 7 x64 (8gb of RAM). I tried installing the patch as suggested in this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/719451 but it only claimed to not have the corresponding program installed. I tried checking to see if there were any updates - there weren't.
A quick check on my computer reveals that both Media Encoder CS4 and CS5 are installed. I looked to see if there was a way to uninstall the CS5 version but didn't see it. The only way I think I could have gotten it was though some sort of Adobe update.
Any ideas of how to fix this?

Hi: I have the same problem, but it happened very suddenly and after very specific updates. I successfully encoded a file using the CS6 encoder. Then, I allowed updates to Adobe Media Player and Adobe Air. I tried to encode with CS6 again and it had stopped working - all in the space of 5 minutes. A reboot did not help. I also have CS4 and CS 5.5 installed and have had all along (which means that you can have them and use the CS6 encoder). Since I can no longer use the CS6 encoder, but am able to launch an older one, I am using that for the moment. I hope that this reply will be of some help in finding a solution.

  • Media Encoder Error in CS 4

I am using Flash CS 4, If I attempt to file>import>import video,  the import video window/dialog box opens, if I browse and select a AVI.file  I receive a dialog box telling me it is in the wrong format and to use the Launch Adobe Media Encoder button to convert to proper format. This is where problem starts.
An Adobe Media Encoder Debug Event dialog box opens, it states that "Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an error", ..\..\Scr\Init.cpp-42
the only option is to select a continue button, then an Adobe Media Encoder dialog box opens stating that "adobe media encoder has encountered a problem and must close. It wants to report the issue to Microsoft, but that doesn't help me start or repair my problem. I have created a 3 page PDF of screen images which shows the sequence of dialog boxes and messages, I have tried to locate error data files in application data files, I can find the folder but it does not contain any error txt files.
Can any one Help me with this issue, any way I attempt to open Media Encoder the results are the same.

Having the same issue. Let me know if you get any help

  • Adobe media encoder error message - please help

I purchased adobe creative suite 4 web standard in january of 2010.  I'm in the process of learning how to use all the features.  I am building a website in dreamweaver and wanted to create and import a flash movie.  I opened adobe media encoder from my program files.  I added an avi file to the encoder, chose a medium quality for web, and clicked Start Queue.  I then got the following pop up error message:
    Error Message:

Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an error.
    [..\..\Src\Win\WinFile.cpp-754]
    Please help.

  • Adobe Media Encoder error when encoding: winfile.cpp-759

Mods: Please move this to the appropriate thread wasn't sure to move it to Premiere or Flash
I receive this error when trying to encode AVI to H.264 using Adobe Media Encoder CS5 (64bit):
When searching through the forums, several suggestions for CS4 and current releases that I have tried are:
clearing the media cache through AME, and the folder location in %APPDATA%\Adobe\Common\
    installing K-Lite Codec pack
changing the media cache files folder to a separate disk entirely
updating to the latest version (at the time of post ver 5.0.1.0)
uninstalling and re-installing AME (as an error might have occurred during updates)
verifying that the CPU has SSE support and is enabled
I expanded my search to google which gave similar errors (winfile.cpp-754, winfile.cpp-758, etc.) and a few responses were uninstalling any Nero products (don't have any burning programs on this computer - unless you count Windows)
The system that I have is:
    MS Windows 7 64-bit
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
    2x 1.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 800MHz
    512MB GeForce 9600 GHz
    2x 250GB HDD Mirrored
    External USB 500GB HDD
Any ideas as to what the cause of this is?
    LK.

The information about installing codecs packs is true. It usually does more damage to your codecs already present with software already installed on your computer, and the registry settings even after removing it. That is why it is in good practice to do full image back ups monthy, saving the latest 3 for when I utilize last resort methods such as codec packs.
Adobe CS5 software has been working fine on my computer ever since its installation July. I forgot to mention that I have successfully used Premiere Pro CS5 for editing a dozen files ranging from SD small res to HD 1080i. This also includes just using AME CS5 itself for transcoding files for supported playback on different devices. I notice a greater difference in speed when using a more up to date machine that uses a GTX 285 card for GPU playback - a lot faster and smoother.
I have a 2nd, slightly older computer, that houses an extra drive I put in there to use as a scratch disk. I occasionally add that disk to the computer that has CS5 currently installed as a scratch disk for editing video. The external USB drive is used to store the final product and my backups.
This error has only come up 1 time out of the 49 files I have encoded that usually run 10 minutes to 1.5 hours. I had 9 AVI files in the encoding queue and it always stopped at this 1 particular file. I skipped the file and encoded the rest successfully, but I want to know why it causes an error in AME because this has never happened before. I have even used it on a more up-to-date machine spec wise, thinking that there is a 1% possibility that it doesn't like my computer. The same error was produced. The 9 files that I did encode are roughly the same video and audio format - just this one is the error.
I gave the file to my friend who was supposed to analyze before I got home - I usually assist them in PC problems and built his better-than-mine PC.
Any other suggestions for this error and/or a solution?
    Lk

  • New Media Encoder Error: video and/or audio filters are missing...

My colleague reported this error popup window while using Adobe Media Encoder CC (up-to-date):
"video and/or audio filters are missing and the rendered output may not match the original"
I've been seeing similar errors the past few days. I can't remember if the wording was the same in the errors I saw, but the circumstances were the same.
I've never seen this popup error before the most recent CC update.
    Some background info:
I queued up multiple Premiere Pro pproj files as usual from within Premiere
without rebooting or deleting any cache or temp files or anything, I start the queue
I have no special plugins installed in Premiere. Vanilla CC install.
    Windows 7, 64-bit
This error doesn't tell me what audio/video filter(s) are missing. The output files, once I dismiss this warning, are perfect.
The major problem: It stops the queue dead in it's tracks. Sure, it might seem handy to stop and give you a warning, but when it's a false report and there's nothing wrong, it's killing us, because we queue up multiple files for encoding overnight, and we're not here to get the popups.
What is likely causing this? Is it a bug that this is appearing so frequently? Has anyone else experienced this besides my colleague and I?
    Thanks!

Update for anyone experiencing this issue:
We are still investigating the cause of the issue and would really like your help tracking it down. If you run in to it I would be happy to jump on the phone with you and preferably do a screenshare as well. If you want to run some tests for me, this is what may help us track it down:
    0. Please make sure you are updated to the latest version of Premiere Pro and AME, which at this time are Premiere Pro 7.2.1 and AME 7.2.
    1. Simplify the project. Create a copy of the project and eliminate anything in the project that isn't related to the sequence(s) you are exporting. Then run the encode again. If it still occurs, move to the next step. If it doesn't occur any more, repeat step one and only remove half of the unused items (sorry, this is giong to be a manual process). Rinse, repeat.
    2. Open your sequence in Premiere and press Cmd/Ctrl + A to select all clips in your sequence. Right click and select Remove All Effects. Export again. No repro? Go to step 4. If it still repros, go to step 4.
    3. Make all the media offline. Export again. No repro? Go to step 4. Repro? Go to step 5.
    4. Send me a message with as much detail as possible. Even better would be if you could provide me a copy of your project file.
Your help in tracking this issue down is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • CS4, Win7 64bit Media Encoder Errors

On a fresh install of Win7 64bit, ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard 12GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 260 graphic card and all updates (software/hardware), I'm having a bear of a time exporting even a bars/tone test project from CS4. Here is the sequence of events:
1)Create/edit project, export media, I get warning message that an update of Media Encoder is available (but I've already double checked that I'm running CS4 4.2.1 with multiple computer restarts). AME version I have is 4.2.0.006
    2) choose export format, location, etc. (I've tried various export formats with no difference in resulting error messages)
    3) dynamic link exports the file to AME...BUT....AME doesn't open
4)When I've manually opened AME beforehand, CS4 will export to the queue
5)On attempt to encode I get the message:
    - Source File: C:\Users\Oren\AppData\Local\Temp\Zi8 Test_7.prproj
    - Output File: E:\Choco Rehab2.f4v
    - Preset Used: Custom
    - Video:
    - Audio:
    - Bitrate:
    - Encoding Time: 00:18:29
    2/6/2010 9:42:25 AM : Encoding Failed
Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted.
    6) I've looked in the folder and indeed, the source file doesn't exist...but it keeps creating this same message, regardless of what project I try to work on.
I've done a re-install (with cleaner script) TWICE already and it is really a time-killer (especially when I defrag the drive in between installs). I beseech Harm and all the other gurus to offer some sage wisdom. Thank you.

I'm the only user on the computer, and I do have full rights to the C: volume. By default, I should be the administrator, is that correct?  Thanks again for your offer to help and your invaluable assistance to all Adobe users. With your help (and the upcoming Mercury engine), I hope to have a Matrox-free system eventually. I still have to use my XP-32 matrox and CS3 system until I can work out the kinks that keep me from exporting completed projects on my newly build Win7 CS4 system.
Let me know if anything stands out to you that I'm missing. I'm a bit frazzled currently.

  • Adobe Media Encoder Error Compiling movie Unknown Error occurs within 1-2 minutes of Exporting

I've looked at a number of threads about this, and none seem to solve the issue. I am using the Mac version of PPRO CS6, with AVCHD h.264 source clips (mts) directly, and the timeline will play the program, but I did noticed that certain cuts the program video is still for that cut, but the encoding error does not fail in those cuts, so its puzzling.  I've tried different output formats, and each will fail at a different point. There are only 4 video clips (all identical format and frame rate) in this, but I have 180 cuts from the 4 clips. There are no graphics, titles, effects, stills.. none of that - just straight cuts. Only a fade in the beginning and fade out at end I also will get the same error if I render the sequence (also at  a different point, in the middle of a cut), with a same error. The total length of the edited sequence is 22 minutes, the source clips are well over 3GB each. So to convert to another format would take forever, so that's why its kept in original format.  Anyone found a solution?
