Media Encoder for CS4 (Mac Version) will not encode
Hi-
I am editing on a new macbook pro and Premiere works great....but the media encoder keeps giving me error messages stating the source media can't be found. I have tried to update the software, but the update will not complete (update work for the rest of CS4). I have reinstalled and still have the same problem. I have downloaded to the most current patch but it tells me the version on my computer is newer. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

30EA1: Mac version will not disconnect from database
Hello,
I was trying the EA1 version on my mac this morning and although I opened a couple of connections to different databases fine, when i did right click / disconnect it seemed to carry on being connected. I didn't run any queries in that database whatsoever. Any thoughts?
ThanksYes, I experience this behavior as well. I run many queries, and sometimes I can disconnect successfully, but if I ever leave the application alone for more than an unspecified timeout period, it becomes increasingly unresponsive, one of the first things to go awry is the connection options.

I have partitioned my time capsule, as I want part of it to act as a media server for both mac and windows. However I don't know what format that I need to partition it to. I also can't make it a permanently accesible drive. I want to restore the drive to the original format (which I don't know) and start again and re-partition the drive in a format that can be used for media by both mac and PC and for time machine back-ups and make the media part of it permanetly accesible so I can add and acccess my files.
ThanksYou are mixing up a couple of things here.
The TC drive cannot be partitioned without removing it.. did you do that?
If you partition it you must use a Mac disk utility and use the HFS+ ie standard Mac format. And GUID partition table not windows type.
You can select erase disk in the airport utility.. that will take the disk back to original format. No partitions. TC is deliberately not partitioned as it is not a media server.. it is a backup device for TM. Over time .. the disk will be filled with TM backups so you have a long history of file changes to your computer.
There is no media server in the TC.. it is merely disk storage.. you can serve files from it to a media device.. but the TC itself is dumb as dumb.
Now the actual format of the drive is irrelevant to the PC.. The TC offers SMB file services to the network. You can copy files to and from the TC as if it was a local disk without caring one iota about the format. The TC handles that .. it is not a local disk .. it is a network drive.
Although you cannot partition the TC. you can still copy files to it.. this does have implications for TM.. but as long as there is plenty of free space should not be a major issue.
You can create a disk image via the disk utility in a Mac.. and as stated you can create partitions if you do it on a Mac with the disk directly connected which means breaking warranty if any exists on the TC. -
i cannot sync my iphone with itunes because my software is too old- 10.5.8. The new itunes version will not download. How else can i sync my iphone to my mac?
You need to buy and install a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD; once it's installed, run the Software Update pane of System Preferences twice.
There is no other way to sync it, but content can be downloaded directly from the iTunes Store servers; for non-purchased music, this requires signing up for iTunes Match, which costs more than the DVD.

I'm trying to downgrade my icloud storage; however, my MAC book will not upgrade pass 10.6.8 and I don't have my iphone anymore. If there another way for me to do this? I've tried everything I can find online and of course my coverage has expired and can't call the support team.

have you already called Apple and explained your current situation, because I don't see a way to downgrade your storage plan with a Mac only running Snow Leopard and without a iOS device running at least iOS 5.

Photoshop CS6 Trial Version will not open on my MacBook Pro 10.6.8. Message: Photoshop CS6 will not open on this type of Mac. Dreamweaver opened without a problem. When I go into my Adobe Application Manager, it shows Photoshop and Dreamweaver as installed even though I had to unistall Photoshop. I was hoping to try the download again??

Mountain Lion purchased from Mac store will not download. 'Downloading' simply stays greyed out for hours. Nothing I do changes it. I am running OS 10.6.8 on a 2010 Mac Mini. What do I do now?
If you are looking at the front page of the App Store and you are seeing the "downloading" message on the right under Quick Links.
Try this... Go into the "Purchases" section in the top bar of the App Store find ML in the list you are presented with. Does it say Resume? If so click the button and it will change to Pause. You may have paused it previously and forgot.
If not then do as Csound1 suggested and simply wait for it to finish

I have purchased a new mac book pro and I'm trying to install CS6 from old mac. I have installed cs6 upgrade but, software is asking for cs4 number which is not being accepted.
I should add that it's an HP photosmart 4280.I found it online and it shows the Mac 0SX operating system.

Media Encoder will not Encode MPEG but creates XMP file
When I place an MPEG video file in my adobe media createor folder it automatically creates the same file name with an XMP extension with approx 4kb of data. However it will not encode the file and it will not show up in the Queue. Anyone know why?

Also is there a way to automatically remove the item from the queue once it has encoded. Our media encoder queue gets full of converted videos and then crashes.When i try to add the file manually it says error decompressing. Is this just a corrupt file? Seems to be happening a lot.

My mac mini will not display home screen. When I turn it on and try to reboot it, there is a gray sceen that is displayed and then a message to restart by holding the power button for several seconds. This shuts down the computer, but then the above problem repeats.
If the message you're getting is in several languages, that's a kernel panic. Kernel panics are usually, but not always, caused by hardware, with memory a leading cause. If you have a mid-2010 mini, you can easily reseat the memory (remove and reinstall) .... mini's prior to that are a bit more involved to open the case.

Connecting your MacBook Pro and your MacBook Air will be the fastest way, but you have to spend money on cables and adapters (also, your MacBook Pro doesn't support Thunderbolt).
As you have a Time Capsule, one thing you can do is to start your MacBook Pro and make a Time Machine backup. Then, turn on your MacBook Air and set it up. Setup Assistant will ask you to restore a backup, so select the option to restore the backup from the Time Capsule and be patient. This can take a lot of time if you have to migrate a lot of files -

Need help certain mp4's will not encode in idvd
i am working on an idvd project. i have 5 mp4 files and two of them encode fine. the other three say they are done encoding as soon as they are dropped into the project even though no encoding is taking place. so when i go to burn the dvd it says there are encoding errors and cancels the process. all 5 files play fine in quicktime. and in the preview mode of the dvd. but for some reason will not encode. i have 25gb on hd so i know there is plenty room to encode. could someone help me resolve this issue.

garyGood morning...I too had the problem and tried what was suggested in here ie: going to library file then preference...blah blah blah. It might have work 4 others but not with me. I even called apple techs and gave me almost the same solution. The tech informed me to bring it back to the store...but I will have to pay since I do not have an Apple Protection Plan. I was almost tempted to bring my new 8mos old MacBook back to the store and was ready to buy the Protection plan for a whopping $250+ (good for 3yrs) or for a one shot deal(one service)of $50, until I got myself an idea and iDVD now working and encoding with ease.
Here is my suggestion:
1. Back up all the files that is important or you like to an external hard drive or time machine or burn your files as data on a cd/dvd or back them up in sd/usb etc as long as you will be able to recover those files.
2. Once you have backed them up...Insert the cd (you're supppose to have 2cds that came when u bought your Mac) that says Mac OS X install CD or I believe in the older version CD 1. Follow the instructions when u r prompted. Get your manual if u have to...YOU HAVE TO CHOSE ERASE (COMPLETELY) HARDDRIVE...that's is why it is a must to back up files firsts before doing this step. Be patient as your computer erased your hard disk completely and reinstalling it.
3. Once program reinstall follow the prompt messages. Mac will ask you basic infos...just fill them up. After that...insert the 2nd CD (Application CD - houses your iLife - in it are the iphoto imovie iDVD etc. Again, be patient!
And that's it....idvd should be up and running smoothly. I tested it myself and I am able to burn on dvd almost every file ie... .mov .mp4 .m4v etc. Some files has to be converted ex. avi file (Windows) to a format that Mac/iDVD will accept.
I hope this helps.
PS: Whenever you are burning movie, do this action alone (burning) as it takes a lot of power/energy on your MAC. Burn and leave it. I got into this mess because my Mac was burning movie and I was multi-tasking on my Mac. It's a big NO - NO.
