Media Encoder H.264 Doesn't Work

Got a bit of a problem. When I encode videos in H.264 the files come out fine and play through quicktime fine, but on the player on my site they do not work. I'm a bit puzzeled. Is this a known issue?

OK, if they play fine in Apple QT Player, but not on your site, tell us more about the player on your site. Also, what are the problems with that player?
As an aside, some users have had more luck with the Lead, or the MainConcept H.264 CODEC's, than with Apple's. Just something to think about.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • Adobe prem / media encoder h.264 blu-ray jitters, flickers /w slow-mo

    hello
using the Adobe Production Premium CS4 pack... hardware is not an issue, also all the latest updates are installed.. prem 4.2.1 (003), encoder 4.2.0.006
after export and authoring, we are having strange glowing flickers, and bad slo-motion effect playback
the problem seems to be consistent with slo-motion and time remapping, frame holds and especially when an additive dissolve is thrown in.
the edit's are far from saturated with these effects, but a simple frame-hold with motion-rotation and motion-scale occurring with keyframes. the problem also happens with something as simple as a 30% speed/duration added onto a clip..
the footage is captured and on a timeline at - 1440x1080 (1.3333) HD Anamorphic, 25fps (50i)
    the export profile after edit is - H.264 Blu-ray - 1440 x 1080i 25 High Quality
i get the feeling the problem may be occurring as the footage is remaining as interlaced footage through-out and not being blended or discarded to progressive.
i have tried making the footage progressive on export thinking it might solve the problem, but it turns out there is no such thing as progressive HD PAL in media encoder and encore
i love adobe's workflow but we have never been fond of main-concept from the start with things like this, even Mpeg2-DVD exports come out softer than you'd expect
any thoughts, light or general directions on what to do to help figure out the problem would be great..

after around 30 small sample exports, builds and different renders... I have discovered the problem and am now on track to fixing it..
it turns out certain adobe effects such as 'lighting effects' do NOT work well with slo-mo or frame held clips.. upon taking this one effect off, the clip looks flatter and less dynamic in context of my edit, but the clip plays normally no matter what the export settings, codec or format..
what's hallarious is that these effects and edits export and author perfectly fine onto DVD through Mpeg2.. i guess they just flatten better etc.. i get the impression when Adobe started crafting their software for HD they just built on top of the normal effects etc they already had and expected them to work.. if only Premiere could get the updates, priority and attention Photoshop does..
again, i love premiere's work flow, i just can't see how they can put the word 'Pro / Professional' near this software...
    many thanks all

  • Media Encoder From AP-Pro not working

    Hi,
I'm trying to export a premiere pro file, I go through the "export settings" like normal and then "ok", it goes to "exporting data" but then doesn't go anywhere.
Normally it should access the "Adobe Media Encoder" but it does nothing. When I try to access "Adobe media encoder from the programs it comes up with the error message:
"Adobe Media Encoder.exe - Entry Point Not Found" - "The procedure entry point ??0NewHandlerInitializer@ErrorManager@config@@QAE@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library dvacore.dll".
So I'm guessing it needs reinstalling but where do I get it from? It is not in the Premiere setup files and it's not on the adobe website, only the updates are.
    I'm using Windows XP and AP-Pro CS4
    Regards,

Just had the same problem. I have had cs2 cs3 and cs4 on the same PC Windows XP Pro.
The exact error message as the o.p. was appearing during export from Premier and when opening Encore.
I was able to resolve this issue after weeks by simply ...
Close all Adobe programs and restart computer.
    Go to Windows>Control Panel>Adobe Version Cue CS4
Adobe Version Cue Server window will appear.
Make sure your firewall is not blocking Version Cue or Adobe Updater.
    Click Updates tab.
    Click "Check for Updates" button.
Adobe Updater will connect with the update server. Click Details.
Checkmark Media Encoder and Photoshop Media Encoder.
Download the latest Adobe Media Encoder updates.
Im finally encoding right now so Im not stopping to look at the update version, lol. but my current version of Media Encoder is now 4.2.0.006

  • MP3 encoder VBR Options doesn't work anymore

    Hi everyone !
I always used iTunes mp3 encoder to rip my CD's with the VBR option ON and it worked fine until now.
Indeed since 10.3 the VBR option doesn't seem to be working no more : the output is a CBR mp3 file either I tick or not the VBR option box !
Does anyone have the same problem ? Is there a way to solve this issue ?
    Thank you

  • Anyone gotten a self encoded H.264 video to work yet?

I'd like to know if anyone out there has been able to successfully play a video encoded with H.264 that you encoded yourself (not from the music store)
I've only been able to get MPEG4 videos to work, even when I set the encoding options identical to the video output stats provided on the iPod page.

The codec is supported but it is a very odd aspect ratio and it is a very odd framerate.
The aspect ratio should be OK although it will need to be letterboxed in iMovie.
The frame rate is 6.1 frames per second. iMovie projects are usually 30 frames per second, but can be 24 frames per second at the slowest, so I don't know how it would react to something that is 6 frames per second. You rarely see something this slow unless it is from a security camera.
Also the audio is 16000 Hz. iMovie expects audio to by recorded at 48,000 Hz. The audio may work, but it will likely get out of synch with the video.
I would suggest that you get a free app called MPEG Streamclip. Here is a link.
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
Drag your h.264 file into MPEG Streamclip.
In MPEG Streamclip, see if it will play by pressing the Play button (or by tapping the space bar).
If it does, use FILE/EXPORT TO QUICKTIME.
Choose Apple Intermediate Codec for compression. For Sound choose Uncompressed 48 kHz.
For Frame size choose OTHER and type in 1440x900.
For Frame Rate, try 24, and check the box that says Frame Blending. (You may want to uncheck frame blending and try that as well.)
Uncheck the box that says Interlaced Scaling. If the final result looks bad, come back and try Interlaced Scaling / Upper Field First.
Click Make Movie and save it in a place you can find it.
Then open iMovie and use FILE/IMPORT MOVIE to import the new movie you just made.
At least that is what I would try.

  • Qosmio G30 - Media center remote control doesn't work in windows

    Dear All,
    I have Qosmio G30-194,
first i had a problem with the VGA , i send it for repair, when it comes back i noticed that the remote control is not working on windows Media Center, while in A/V mode it work perfectly.
I tried to do full system restore from the recovery DVD, but nothing changed, even i installed Windows Vista with all of its drivers.
Nothing changed also, I borrowed a USB IR received for another remote control it worked perfectly with my remote on windows.
Please advise me what to do, do i send it back to the service center , or there is an easier solution.

N.B, : My laptop info are:
    Model Number PQG32E-01P018AR
    Thank you in advance

don't expect toshiba to fix problems like this.
they replaced motherboard on my laptop and ever since the remote was not working.. it would turn the laptop on but was unresponsive thereafter. thing's we have tried:
    - install software and drivers for remote again
    - reinstall windows
    - replace reciever
    - change motherboard
    - change remote
    - terminate and restart relevant processes
    - downgrade bios
    - update bios
    - combinations of the above
on several occassions Toshiba told me they were able to replicate and solve the problem but after trying it on my laptop they remembered that actually their one was slightly different.
almost a year later, i still have a non-working remote
my theory is the laptop leaves factory with certain software which Toshiba fail to include in recovery partition and\or bios that is available through them... so once you lose the factory components (i.e.the original motherboard) you also lose some necessary files with them.

  • Media synch to itunes doesn't work

i use a 8830 world edition with verizon.  I have installed the latest version of media synch.  The phone clearly is connected, and all the playlists that I could synch show up, but are grayed out, and none will synch. I tried reinstalling the desktop manager latest version (4.7).  Any suggestions?

Both links worked for me, the first taking me via a page in English that asked me to confirm that I wanted my browser to launch iTunes to handle the request. The second in German asking the same. In both cases I was taken to the store page where 1 iPhone and 2 iPad apps are listed.
What browser are you using? With Chrome I had to add an extension to handle requests to the store so that they opened with iTunes.

  • Media Encoder H.264 settings

I hope someone can help me with this. I created a video in CS4 in HDV, I  need to output using the following specs my client has asked for:
    fullscreen video at 1920 x 1080 resolution,
    Quicktime h.264 - best quality / multipass.
    Sound is 48 KHz 16b.
They are using FCPro Apple ProRes 422 for compression.
Do I use the H.264 Blu-ray setting for output? Any help on what the  setting should be is greatly appreciated - or do I need to get more info  from the client.
I've never had to do this type of output before and I want to make sure I give them the correct format.
    Thanks

    Hi,
When you get the export done and if you like it could you put your settings up here ( maybe a screenshot of settings for video ) and share it with us? Others might profit later as they search this database for answers.  Thanks...

  • Adobe Media Encoder Update for Mac not working?

    Hey!
My Premiere says that there is an update available for the AME.
When i open the PatchInstaller it says: "This Patch is not suitable for you."
In a normal case AME is installed together with Adobe Premiere, isn't it?

    >> In a normal case AME is installed together with Adobe Premiere, isn't it?
The above comment has been true for stand alone installation of major releases.  But when it comes to patch release, each product is on its own.  Generally speaking, PPro and AME products release patches on the same day.  There have been a few cases where PPro had a patch (like 7.2.1) and there was no AME corresponding patch.
    >> My Premiere says that there is an update available for the AME.
    >> When i open the PatchInstaller it says: "This Patch is not suitable for you."
What versions of PPro and AME do you currently have on your system?
What version does PatchInstaller wants to install on your system?
The latest released versions of PPro and AME patches are 7.2.2.

  • Premiere Pro CC not queuing exports into Media Encoder CC

I try to make this simple...
standard export from PP CC to ME CC
File -> export -> media, then hit queue.
Media encoder opens and just sits there. Left it for hours to see if anything would ever happen, and nothing ever did.
I've restarted the programs and machine dozens of times and that does nothing.
I can still export from PP CC.
I have no CS6 products left on my box.
I also tried to open the project from Media Encoder and load the sequence that way with no luck.
    Thanks for the help!

I had this exact same problem, and I figured out the solution in my case.  I know the original problem report is ancient, but there are recent replies, so I am adding my solution here.  I spent untold hours figuring this out, so hopefully this will save someone else some time.
There can be other causes to this problem, I'm sure.  I'm just telling you about what fixed this problem for me.
Just to clarify, here is the symptom: Running Windows 8.1.  Standard export from Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 to Media Encoder CC 2014.2, using File -> Export -> click Queue.  Media Encoder opens and just sits there.  Premiere Pro is hung and has to be forcibly terminated.
I spent countless hours on this.  I thought I had messed up my computer's configuration somehow, so (believe it or not) I re-installed Windows on a freshly formatted hard disk, re-installed Creative Suite, same problem.  (I can't believe I wasted all that time; I feel like a dummy.)
I finally narrowed it down to a very simple test case with a very tiny one-clip sequence that is less than one second long.  Same problem.
It turned out to be a problem in the Premiere Pro project file itself.  I suspect that a small file corruption somehow snuck into the project file, that was completely invisible.  In that clip in my project, if I removed the "Vocal Enhancer" effect, the problem with exporting to Media Encoder went away.  If I then re-added the very same "Vocal Enhancer" effect, the problem was still gone.  It must be some small corruption in the ".prproj" file that went away when I removed the "Vocal Enhancer" effect and re-added it again.
NOTE: I DON'T think that there is some kind of bug with the "Vocal Enhancer" effect.  I don't think this problem has anything to do with "Vocal Enhancer" per se.  It is just some kind of small generic corruption in the project file.  When Premiere Pro tries to export that sequence to Media Encoder, the problem occurs.  It was just a coincidence in my case that removing and re-adding the "Vocal Enhancer" effect made the problem go away.
BOTTOM LINE: If you find that you have this bug where Premiere Pro hangs when exporting to the Media Encoder queue, try the following: Create a brand new project with a single clip in it, and export it to the Media Encoder queue.  If that works, you know that it is not a problem with Premiere Pro in general; it's a problem in your specific project file.  Once you've made this determination, make a copy of your original project file, and remove clips from the project until the problem goes away.  Keep narrowing it down until you find the clip(s) that are the issue.  Then, try removing and re-adding any effects on those clips, or even removing and re-adding the clips themselves, to fix the problem.  Eventually, by removing and re-adding a specific effect or clip to your project, the problem will vanish (hopefully).  It's just a matter of narrowing down which half of your project the problem occurs in, then which half of that half, etc., until you have it narrowed down to one clip or group of clips that need to be removed and re-added.
Having said all this, it is a bug that ideally should be fixed so someone else doesn't spend untold hours trying to figure out the problem.  To that end, I create a tiny ZIP file that just has project file and the single media clip needed to reproduce the problem, along with a small description "READ ME.txt" file that explains the very simple steps to reproduce the problem.  I have submitted this as a bug report to Adobe using their official online bug report form at www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform along with a link to the ZIP file so they can download and reproduce the problem.
If anyone else is curious about reproducing this same bug, you can also download the small ZIP file if you want to.  I guarantee it doesn't have any viruses or anything - it's just two small files to reproduce the problem.  To download the ZIP file containing that project file, media file, and "READ ME.txt" file, you can get it at www.forgaard.com/files/PremiereProBug.zip.
I hope this saves someone some time.  This one sucked up a zillion hours of me chasing apparitions.
I was having a problem with exporting a sequence to AME.  PPro would freeze and I would have to force the program to close.  This was on a project where I was just running out a bunch of interview clips for the director to look at.  One of them had a audio effect (DeHummer) on it, and it was the one that was giving me troubles.  I selected the audio and right clicked then "Render and Replace" then it would export to AME with no issue.  Thank you for your well written response to this thread.  While it may not have fixed the OP's issue, it did help with mine....
    Thanks,
    Phil

  • Media Encoder not starting from Premiere Pro

I'm having issues Exporting from Premiere Pro - I'd rather queue it through Media Encoder so I can move onto the next edit, but when I select Queue and Media Encoder opens, it doesn't do anything - simply sits there with "Not Currently Encoding" as opposed to importing the data to export.
    Help?

Have not seen the problem before - most of my work is vi Canon 5D MK III, so maybe it's a Sony Codec issue? Though I have exported footage from this camera before though...
    Apple MacBook Pro, 17",
I am using  Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration in Premiere Pro

Finally got fed up and rang Adobe (if all else fails...)
Video Support Team Member opened my Library folder (Go\Go to folder...\~/Library/) then went into \Preferences\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\ and changed the folder called 6.0 to 6.0old (i.e. rename it to anything else), then hit Queue in Premiere Pro and the project successfully opened in Media Encoder and was able to start encoding.
Hopefully that helps someone else suffering the same issue!

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC Crashing on Startup (W8)

Can somebody help with this issue as it's causing me a heap of problems. On startup, adobe media encoder crashes, it has been working fine for me for the past few weeks. I've updated all software via the creative cloud but I still get the issue.
If this is not a known fault, what should be the next step for diagnosis?
    Thanks in advance.

Please try holding Shift key while launching AME.  This resets the AME preferences.
If this doesn't solve the crash, directly delete the preferences folder <OS drive>:\\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder.  Delete a folder "7.0".
If none of above helps, please delete the media cache at <OS drive>:\\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe.
Delete "Media Cache" and "Media Cache Files".

  • Premiere Pro / Media Encoder crash during encoding

Afternoon guys, wonder if anyone has any tips on how to solve my issue. It's a new pc that I'm working on, my first project on it, everything working great in terms of the edit, but crashing whilst encoding both through Premiere Pro and Media Encoder with an error message (below). I'm not great with this stuff so please let me know if I need to provide more info and I'll provide much information as I can.
    I'm a creative cloud user.
-Premiere Pro cs 6 (6.0.3) - I have tried to re-install the software, and ran all the updates yesterday after the install. Problem still persists.
    -Encoder cs6 (6.0.3.1)
-Windows 7 Professional service pack 1, 64bit. Whilst I was online re-installing Premiere Pro windows did some updates (I generally keep my editing pc's offline).
-DSLR footage (.mov) for video, up to 3 sources of video (nested for multicam shoot) and running one source of audio (mp3 file). Two of the timelines I'm trying to encode are about 45 minutes long.. I have succesfully encoded other clips (a 5 minute, and a 35 minute previously. Miraculously this morning I encoded a 1h12m clip using the mpeg2-dvd preset with only adjustment of quality bumped from 4 to 5). So this was encoded after all the updates, however since then everything else is not working.
-Initially encoder was either freezing, or giving me an error message. Since re-installing all the software yesterday it now does not freeze, but I get the error message: "Adobe Media Encoder CS6.0 has stopped working... A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I get the same message when encoding with both AME and Premiere Pro.  I click "close" from here and nothing else happens.
-Trying to export to mpeg2-dvd, I have tried the PAL widescreen preset, as well as trying to adjust the settings, doesn't seem to make a difference, the error message pops up different points during encoding.
-The only plugin I have used is magic bullet looks for some grading. It also fails to encode with no plugins used.
    -PC     - Intel i7-3770 @ 3.40ghz,
              - 32GB ram
              - Operating system and Adobe Suite on c: (SSD 240gb)
              - Project source footage (video, audio, etc) f: (2tb)
              - Encoding files to e: (SSD 240gb)
              - my case is an Antec 902, with no additional fans. It does sound like it's working harder during encoding, not sure if a heat issue could be causing the software to error?
-I am using the mercury playback engine with a Gefore gtx 680 (2gb).
I have not been able to find any definitive answeres with regard to the crashes. I did also have encoder hanging whilst reading the xmp file. I have tried encoding video only (audio disabled) and whilst it doesn't hang during reading of xmp file, it still stops working with the above error message.
I also run an older PC with i920, 24gig, gtx570 and it never crashes but performs much slower. It is also running windows 7, same setup but different hardware. Not sure if the hardware on my new pc could be causing the issues, if you you guys have any troubleshooting tips it would be much appreciated. At this point i have tried starting a new project, new timelines, nothing seems to work, so I have transferred the data to my old pc for encoding (as I need to deliver the discs to a client), but I need to get this new setup working properly.
    Cheers,
    Stevan

    Hi Axel,
Thanks for your suggestions, I just tried cleaning out the media cache and also rendered out a wav file of the audio and placed it in the timeline and deleted the mp3 version.. Tried once again to encode an mpeg2-dvd file.
1st attempt encoding through Media Encoder, pal widescreen with variable bit rate set to 6, 7 and 8 = everything froze, had to restart via button.
2nd attempt encoding through Media Encoder = this time tried video only same settings just no audio = same error (Adobe Media Encoder cs6.0 has stopped working...)
3rd attempt encoding through Premiere Pro, same settings with audio = same error message.
4th attempt encoding through Media Encoder, pal wide preset as standard with no change = same error message.
5th attempt encoding through Media Encoder, h264 preset for vimeo, 720p = same error message.
6th attempt encoding through Media Encoder, AVI (Uncompressed) 720 x 480 preset. 1m40s in the dreaded blue screen appeared. "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval. " Bla bla bla.
In all instances the encoding is absolutely flying, but always ends up crashing.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS5 not encoding

I'm following lessons from Flash Professional CS5 Classroom in a Book. Chapter 8 is where I met Adobe Media Encoder CS5, but couldn't go any further with the lesson because as soon as I drag the penguin.mov to AME I get the message
    "Adobe Media Encoder Debug Event.
Adobe Media Event has encountered an error
    [..\..\Src\QTTrack.cpp-395"
I then click "Continue" and I get the Windows window saying "Windows is checking problem..." I click close to close the Windows window and it also closes AME.
I open AME again and I drag my own Windows Media Files to see if it will work. AME works for awhile and then stops with the exclamation mark inside the yellow triangle under "Status" I click "Status" and I get this log messages:
