Media Encoder Problem CS4

Recently got CS4 master edition, every time I open Adobe Media Encoder from Flash or otherwise it gives me an error,
[..\..\Src\Init.cpp-42]
then it closes and sends error report.
Any ideas what the problem is?
I am hoping its a bad install but I really don't want to install all of master edition again.
Any Ideas?

Are you running on Windows or Mac OS X?
Try upgrading to the latest version of the Quicktime player and see if that makes a difference.

  • Adobe Media Encoder (Pr CS4) encodes my videos without the effects of the plugins Genarts Sapp

    Hello,
My Adobe Media Encoder (Premiere CS4) encodes my videos without the effects of the plugins Genarts Sapphire. I did not have this problem with CS2 and also he encodes all other plugins.
Do you know why? I really need to solve this serious issue.
    Any help will be apprecieted,

OK, good. Go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Pro\4.0 and look for two files called "Plugin Loading.log" and "Headless Plugin Loading.log" (without the quotes). These are just text documents, so open them up in Notepad or similar and compare the two; what you're looking for are references to your Sapphire plugins. What you'll probably find is that in "Plugin Loading.log", the plugins are loaded successfully--it will say something like "The plugin was successfully loaded from the registry."--whereas in "Headless Plugin Loading.log" the same plugin will be marked "The plugin is marked as Ignore, so it will not be loaded."
If you see that, let me know and I'll try to walk you through the steps of correcting it. If you like, I'd be happy to look at the log files; attach them to a reply here (they're small documents).

  • Premiere Pro CS4 and Adobe Media Encoder Problems

I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 on a Mac running 10.6, and I consistently encounter this problem when trying to export a Premiere project using Adobe Media Encoder.
What does this mean? And has anyone else encountered this problem as well? I really need a fix if there is one, because I really need to be using Premiere. I have reinstalled several times, but to no avail. Help me please!

    Jim, thanks for testing.
My concerns are about a)distribution and general b)compatibility.
    a) When videos are distributed most of the users will probably try to open the files with Windows Media Player. So it is not a good start to have fresh exported h.264 videos which won't run fine with the 'main' player on windows
    b) I am wondering if the Problems with Windows Media Player may also be a sign of a general compatibility issue of the h.264 video itself
At least in case b) Adobe would have to look into this.
    Here is another test video:

  • Adobe Media Encoder in CS4

Hello. My name is Justin. I am currently going through the  ADOBE FLASH CS4 REVEALED  book by Jim Shuman, as a program at a local community college. I have the Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium. I am running this program on Microsoft Windows 7 x64,  with 4 gb ram and a Core2 Duo processor at 2.27 GHz.
I am going through the content of the book, and in chapter 5, lesson 3, we were to use the encoder to encode a fireworks.mov file. (p5-14)
I proceed through the steps described in the book. Upon opening the fl5_3.fla , I first select default fonts as I don't have the called for font. After making a new layer named video and clicking frame 1 of the said layer. I click File > Import > Import Video. I get the wizard window popped up. I click on the Embed FLV tic, and browse to the data folder.I select the file and click open. This is where I encounter the 1st error.
"The video format you have selected is not valid for embedded video. Please select an FLV file."
I click OK. And then click Launch Adobe Media Encoder button. I recieve a second error.
"The file"(location)" could not be imported by Adobe Media Encoder" .
I have tried to import it from various locations on my hard drive, and from the data disk itself. Adobe is said to be fully updated.
I encounter this problem again in a later lesson in the Skills Review on page 5-40.
Another thing to note is that when I choose to manually add an item in the que of the encoder, I do not get to initially see the .mov file until selecting the ALL option under the File type drop down scroll box.
Any help in a timely manner would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you.
    - Justin

I could really use some help on this . . .
Could it be a codec is missing or something?
Does anyone know of another way I can get help if not from here?
    Thanks.

  • Quicktime and media encoder problem

I am trying to make a quicktime movie with Premiere CS4. The project is 870 still frames rendered from 3DS MAX. Everything works fine when I export and it sends the movie to Media Encoder's Queue. When I hit "Start Queue". the project starts to encode then quickly finishes with a green check mark next to the project, however no video is made. Please note I have tried other file formats such as AVI and it works fine. This seems to be am issue with QT. I have tried just about every QT codec as well and nothing seems to work. The codec I normally use is animation.
I have successfully done this many times in the past with no problems. Unfortunately, I recently had to replace my main harddrive which died that stored Windows XP, therefore I had to re-install Adobe Master Collection CS4. After the reinstall media encoder won't make Quicktime movies anymore.  And yes I have QT installed. I had ver 7.6.2. I read somewhere that 7.5.5 works better with premiere CS4 so I found that, uninstalled 7.6.2,  and installed 7.5.5, however, unfornuately it did not fix the problem. Anyone know how to fix this or having the same issues? Please see my specs below. Please let me know if you need more info. Thanks for help in advance.
    Intel Quad processor
    4 GIG Ram
    Nvidia 8800 GTX video card
    OS: Windows XP SP3
    Adobe Premiere CS4
    Media Encoder 4.1.0
Quicktime 7.5.5 (also tried 7.6.2 - the most recent)

There was someone having a similar problem on the www.weddingvideodoneright.com forums, and others were having various issues with ME not creating files and so I've copied this from that thread and hope it helps. Also, check out the Adobe link at the bottom-

Digging further, this is the "official" solution  from adobe  -
    Quote
Do one or both of the following solutions:
Solution 1:  Create a shortcut to the Premiere Pro executable file, rename the shortcut to  Premiere, and move the shortcut to C:\Program Files\Common  Files\Adobe\dynamiclink.
    Close all Adobe applications.
In Windows  Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. (If you  installed Premiere Pro CS4 in a location other than the default of C:\Program  Files\Adobe, then navigate to your custom installation location.)
Right-click on Adobe Premiere Pro.exe (which might appear without the .exe  extension) and choose Create Shortcut.
Rename the newly created shortcut to  just Premiere.
Important: The name of the shortcut must be exactly  Premiere with no other characters.
Open a second Windows Explorer  window, and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\dynamiclink.
Move the Premiere shortcut that you created into the dynamiclink folder.
Solution 2: Remove and reinstall all Premiere Pro CS4 components or all  Adobe Creative Suite 4 components.
    Do one of the following:
Windows  XP: Choose Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
Windows  Vista: Choose Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features.
In the  list of installed programs, select Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, Adobe Creative Suite  4 Production Premium, or Adobe Creative Suite 4 Master Collection.
Click  Change/Remove (Windows XP) or Uninstall (Windows Vista).
Follow the  on-screen instructions to remove all components of Premiere Pro CS4 (including  Adobe Encore CS4 and Adobe OnLocation CS4) or to remove all components of your  edition of Adobe Creative Suite 4.
    Re-install your Adobe software.

  • Media Encoder Problem

I am using Flash CS 4, If I attempt to file>import>import video,  the import video window/dialog box opens, if I browse and select a AVI.file  I receive a dialog box telling me it is in the wrong format and to use the Launch Adobe Media Encoder button to convert to proper format. This is where problem starts.
An Adobe Media Encoder Debug Event dialog box opens, it states that "Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an error", ..\..\Scr\Init.cpp-42
the only option is to select a continue button, then an Adobe Media Encoder dialog box opens stating that "adobe media encoder has encountered a problem and must close. It wants to report the issue to Microsoft, but that doesn't help me start or repair my problem. I have created a 3 page PDF of screen images which shows the sequence of dialog boxes and messages, I have tried to locate error data files in application data files, I can find the folder but it does not contain any error txt files.
Can any one Help me with this issue, any way I attempt to open Media Encoder the results are the same.

I've been very fortunate to have a lot of hi-def video work the last three months and the Media Encoder is literally making me think that Premiere CS4 is really more of a hobby program. I spend a third of my time watching the encoder stop, viewing encoded files that don't work. I updated to 4.0.2 and it is worse. I think Adobe really needs to address this problem. Premiere is a great tool and its ability to import Sony Hi-def XDCAM footage is really a nice thing, very helpful, but what good is it when you spend so many hours watching your finished video get crashed in the encoder? I have tried a lot of things and at this point one pass on the FLVs for client reviews seems to be the best I can do. I have a great computer with a quad CPU and lots of ram but I really think Adobe is not addressing those of us that want to use the tool to make a living that are finding it a really bad encoder and would love to hear any ideas on what I might be able to do.
BTW--typical project is 6-7 min. long with about 100-125 clips. I had a lot of problems also with Premiere CS4 crashing and not allowing me to open files but I used embeded sequences to stop the crashing. If I didn't spend so much time finding workarounds on CS4 I could really make a good living. BTW--the Sony EX1 is a really great HD camera.

  • Media Encoder for CS4 (Mac Version) will not encode

    Hi-
I am editing on a new macbook pro and Premiere works great....but the media encoder keeps giving me error messages stating the source media can't be found. I have tried to update the software, but the update will not complete (update work for the rest of CS4). I have reinstalled and still have the same problem. I have downloaded to the most current patch but it tells me the version on my computer is newer. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Any ideas?

  • Adobe Media Encoder Problems

I am having a problem with project settings when I use acvhd files. I add the .m2ts files and select Matrox AVI 1440X1080 and all I ever get is a 720X486. I do not know whats going on. I am trying to get the file into the matrox AVI so it will playback on the Premiere Pro CS4 timeline without the impossible to edit choppy playback.
When I click the settings button I get another screen with a video window, The input shows the original 1920X1080 but the output shows 720X486, there is now ay to change it.
Working with a quad core 2.8 Ghz, 8 gb ram, Video Card is a nvidia 9500GT with 1 Mg ram. The system is robust enough for the software but Premiere cannot handle HD quality.
May be a good time to switch to Apple with FCP. Maybe the money I spend there won't be as much as it's cost me dealing with PC's.

I bought a camera that shoots in AVCHD 1920X1080 resolution. That camera costs $1100.00 and the quality blows away the $6500 cameras quality, I own both. I can import the .m2ts files yet they don't playback from the time line. Yet the software that came with the camera plays back at full screen full HD quality without any problems. I gotta say it's an Adobe issue. Because I installed Premiere CS4 and Media Encoder on a non Matrox system. No way does it work with HD.
Maybe I'll just stick to using my SD cameras because the editing software has not caught up with the rest of us.

  • Media Encoder problems

    Hi,
I am using Premiere CS4 pro. I export to flash using Media Encoder. I am having problems sometimes when encoding. The screen on my new Mac Book Pro goes all black and I have to restart (by force) or supsend the machine and begin again.
Is this a known bug or a moderation issue?
Using Mac Book Pro, Snow Leopard 10.6, plenty og ram and gigs.
    Cheers.

All hell broke lose a few days ago after downloading an os update - a job i was working on wouldn't render at all - kept crashing, ending up wiping my internal harddrive and reloading the mac os x that came with my mac pro and all was good but flash, and words things like text edit wouldn't work so downloaded latest os update (on 10.5.8 now) today and then media encoder wouldn't work but everything else seems fine- just downloaded update to media encoder  (4.0.2.002) and everything is great rendering h.264 files without a sweat now.
I feel very wary now about os upgrades etc now. It really annoys me though that when I'm out shooting on an expensive broadcast camera is totally reliable (or if there's a problem it's something minor) yet in the edit suite you can do a minor upgrade and thousands of dollars worth of gear simply won't work and instead of 'oh there's a crack in the mic cable), it's something like 'line error at 10005 no IO found!' and you're left thinking (if you're a creative and not computery type like me) what the hell does that mean? All I want to do is render a 30 second ad! It just seems crazy that we are all using gear for our income that is so buggy in the edit area.
That's my aggression out now (just annoyed i had to fix my edit gear on a weekend -only downtime - when it's so lovely outside!), so if it helps   mac os x 10.5.8 with encoder version 4.0.2.002 works fine.

  • Adobe Media Encoder for CS4 error Could not read from the source

    Hello,
I get an error when I try to export from Premiere CS4. It doesn't matter how I export. Seems like an easy fix, but I can't figure it out. Any help is appreciated:

When you attempt to encode media with Adobe Media Encoder CS4 on Windows, the following error message appears in the text file (AMEEncodingErrorLog.txt) that opens when you click the error icon: "Encoding Failed. Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted."
If it's that correct, you removed an earlier version of Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe Creative Suite on the same computer.
Do one or both of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Create a shortcut to the Premiere Pro executable file, rename the shortcut to Premiere, and move the shortcut to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\dynamiclink.

  • What has happend to Adobe Media Encoder in CS4?

I have been making short (5min to 10min) movies for the web for several years. I have used Premiere Pro CS3 and exported to FLV using the CS3 Adobe Media Encoder. The results have been excellent using 800kb/s at 25fps.
I then upgraded to Premiere Pro CS4 but cannot get anywhere near the same quality out of the new Adobe Media Encoder. I have tried many settings, including 2-pass and/or VBR as well as Single Pass CBR. What ever I try the resulting video quality is poorer than from CS3.
For the moment I am sticking with CS3 until I can find a solution. I hope I have not wasted my money on the upgrade.
    Can anyone help?
    Spok.

I have found in my testing that the Flash encoding options and the results are far superior to anything I ever got out of previous versions of this option in PPro CS3 and v2.0.
That being said, I always use Sorenson Squeeze. Wish Adobe could match the quality I get in Sorenson. It's closer than before, but the file sizes are still much bigger in AME and the quality is noticeably lower than what Squeeze can deliver.

  • Flash Media Encoder problems

So I'm getting these 2 problems. I'm using Flash Media Encoder 2.5 on Windows 7 home. My upload speed in 2.1 mbs. I don't want to use FME 3.1 or 3.2 because they make my computer slower and I have the same problems.
First the preview screens are choppy. I'm recording a video game and both the input and output look like they have lag. But when I move my mouse across the area I'm recording the mouse moves perfecly fine, while at the same time, the game still looks choppy. Also it seems like whenever there is other activity like moving my browser around, typing or clicking the game, it looks perfectly fine. If tried both the low and high bandwith setting and they both have the same problem.
My second situation is with starting the program. When I click the start button, the session starts, but then instantly stops. I'm using Justin.tv so in the stream, it says I'm live with a screen shot of what I was recording.
Thank you for reading and I hope we can figure this out.

Could you please use any other device and see the difference? Does the issue happen with all the devices?

  • Cropping .mov with Adobe Media Encoder Problem????

I have a qt.mov that is 1920 by 1900, I needed to crop it down to 320 186. I did the conversion in Adobe Media Encoder using the same settings as the original movie. In QT the movie plays fine but when I embed it in the page and upload to the server the movie does not play as I would normally see the player then the stream and finally the movie. Any reason why this would be?
    RD

Went and got QT pro, I see that it has the streaming option, when I exported the file I chose streaming, uploaded the finished file and it works perfect.
    thx

  • Premeire to Media Encoder Problems

I can't seem to export any of my work. I select the sequence to export. I go to file/export/media and set everything up. I've tried many different formats. It opens up the Adobe Media Encoder and my file is there to export. When I select "Start Queue", nothing happens. The "Start Queue" becomes ghosted out. When it I look at the source name, it is giving me "C:\DOCUME~1\jacob\LOCALS~1\TEMP\Untitled_3.prproj/Sequence 01". That is deffinately not where my project file is or where I am saving the encoded file to. I really need to get this figured out as I am on a major deadline and all is complete except for exporting the video into the proper format. Any help would be appreciated.

    Glad you are working.
Note that the path shown in the queue for your project is a temporary version of your project in a temp dir.  It creates a copy of your project there so it can encode the project while you work and make changes to the original.

  • Exporting in Adobe Media Encoder fails in CS4 after CS3 is removed.

There's an issue with Adobe Media Encoder in CS4 where encoding will fail after CS3 is uninstalled.
If you never had CS3 installed on your machine - no problem.
If you never had CS3 and CS4 installed at the same time - no problem.
If you had CS3 and CS4 installed concurrently, then uninstalled CS3 - Houston, you have a problem.
You will need to uninstall CS4 and then reinstall CS4.
    The error message is:
    Encoding Failed
Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted.
One more thing I forgot to mention, this is a Win-only issue.

    >Does anyone understand this?
    Simple:
    1. Open a Windows Explorer window and navigate to the folder that contains "dynamiclinkmanager.exe"
    2. Open a
second Windows Explorer window and navigate to the folder that contains "Premiere.exe"
    3. Arrange the windows side by side.
    4. Right-click on "Premiere.exe" and drag to the first explorer window, targeting between the files so as to avoid any specific file.
    5. Release the right-hand mouse button.
    6. Select "create shortcut here" from the pop-up menu.
    Cheers
