Media encoder renders soft video

I noticed that when I render out a .wmv file for clients to review, it is very soft when I check the interlacing option.  I am using lower filed first material so this would obviously be the right option. If I don't chose that option, it must deinterlace the video. It's not a huge deal because I can render in After Effects like this fine, but media encoder makes the image very soft. Any one else experienced this? Is it a bug? Thanks.

I've not noticed any such issues with my own WMV exports.  Not sure what might cause that.

  • Adobe Media Encoder renders in Lossless, such as After Effects?

Adobe Media Encoder renders Lossless like After Effects too?

There are multiple codecs that can losslessly encode video. One example is the PNG video codec in a QuickTime container. Another example (which matches the After Effects output module named Lossless) is the Animation video codec in a QuickTime container.

  • Media Encoder renders test pattern

CC 2014 - latest build. When I choose to render with Adobe Media Encoder from AE, the Media Encoder renders a test pattern, not the video in the project. The files are on an external drive (TIFF sequence), but the timing for the project is correctly shown in the Media Encoder so I can see that that is correct. What s going on here? Same thing happens with any/all project(s).
    Thanks for the help.

Try adding your image sequence to a Premiere Pro sequence and use the default dissolve to add the fade in and fade out there. Send that to the AME or render from Premiere and see if that works.
If it does then try just putting one of your images from the tiff sequence in a new AE comp and see if that will open in the AME. If that doesn't work let us know. You may have found a bug. I just tried it with my system and tiff sequences come into the AME just fine.
Are you sure that both the AME and AE are up to date.

  • After Effects & Adobe Media Encoder Rendering Issue

    Hi,
First of all,  just to give a background, I am running Windows 8 and Adobe After Effects CC. We had purchased the computer 2 weeks ago and I was working on a video and everything was fine in After Effects. I then went to render it using Adobe Media Encoder to get the H.264 file type that AE CC doesn't have anymore. AME rendered the first time but I had to make more changes. I went to render it a second time and AME crashed and my computer blue screened. Now when I go to Add compsition to media encoder the program shows the splash screen but then it crashes every time. So after some research I found that there were output settings that you can check to allow AE to render H.264. I rendered my video the first time and it worked fine. I had some mismatched audio so I had to make some changes to it again. I went to render it a second time this morning and I got an error message that said " After Effects Error: Rendering error while writing file...unable to delete existing file." This also crashed and blue screened my computer, now it won't let me render at all in either program. Are there any fixes to this problem?
    Thank You!
    Frank

Did you re-boot? Did you try re-booting in safe mode? Did you add anything to your computer or run any updates between the first render and the time this problem started?
Did you try creating a new comp, adding a single solid, and then rendering? If that works tell us about your source files including type and compression.
If that fails then  make sure that you have run all the updates. Then, make sure you have not installed any 3rd party codec packs. Then, dig up the error log and look for anything you can find that starts with "unable" or "crash" and that may give you a hint.

  • Adobe Media Encoder, rendering wrong videoparts from waitinglist

    Hi guys,
I have a small, but pretty anoying problem.
So I'm a normal hobby like Youtuber,
rendering a few video series I created over night.
So I cut und edit them in Adobe Premiere and then I press ctrl + m select 720p and put them on the waitinglist in AME.
Because I can render them all over night like this, or I can render, while still editing other videos.
I usually but all my video parts in one sequence in Premiere, and then cut then like in 15-20minute parts, using the In and Out markers(and then select Sequence In/Out in Rendersettings)
But the problem I have using this method is,
lets say I have 10 videos on the waitinglist of AME, it renders like 3x Part 2, and then part 4,5,6 and maybe 2x part 8 and so on.
So instead of rendering them all like I marked them to, I get a few of the parts duplicated.
And its not a problem of me marking them wrong, because its in every rendering que I do.
And its alsways random which parts get duplicated, but i can be sure there will be a wrong part in every rendering que.
So the only thing I can do right now is either rendering them all one by one directly in Premiere.
Or selecting the false ones again and putting them back onto the waitinglist.
    But its so anoying.
Especially the first time I havent´t checked them, so I uploaded them right away, and saw oops sth. went wrong.
Does anyone have any solution to this?
    I´m using CS6
    Thanks for your help.

When I say render, I'm referring to rendering inside of Adobe Media Encoder - unless there is something I don't know when it comes to the setting you're referring to.
Also, yes, it has an animated logo - which I use on the other machine too, same exact animation.
As I was writing this response, I just disabled the logo animation - it renders in 4 minutes. However, I need this animation - I'm wondering what to do. It has a 4Kx2K png animated using the basic 3D effect and HLS effect - though, this doesn't delay rendering on my other computer!??
Hmm, thought of a fix though, I’ll render out my logo animation with a transparent channel, this way I just drag the scaled down animation on top of my videos, should improve the render time.

  • Adobe Media Encoder Rendering Issues

Ok so I am using Adobe Media Encoder version 7.2.2.29. I have been having issues with encoder for awhile now. When I go to queue my videos the encoder doesn't render the file correctly either it be like the example below where a simple imported logo into premiere looks completely different or updates I make to a AE dynamic link... These AE dynamic links update in Premiere but when rendered in the encoder it doesn't update. So I have been having to export in Premiere for each video which is wasting a lot of time.
When exporting I am using different presets to see if that would fix the problem first a Youtube 1080p 23fps preset then a Vimeo preset still same problems.
What is going on how can I fix this.
    Thank you,
    Logan

A higher quality queue doesn't work... match source hit bitrate, pro rez nothing seems to work. Also using a higher quality export doesn't fix the issue of why Adobe dynamic links aren't updating in the encoder...
Direct export from premiere works but like I said above it is a huge waste of time. I pump out multiple videos a day with multiple re-edits so I need to work while exporting. So while it works it is not a solution that will work for my situation.
    Thank you,
    Logan

  • From Photoshop CS6, How do I render multiple files to Media Encoder when editing Video?

I'm trying to send one version of my video open in PS CS6 to Media Encoder at 1920x1080 then while that renders, I'd like to crop it and render it as 1440x1080.
Is there a faster way to to this?
Ideally I'd like to Send it to ME rather than Export right away..seems I can only Epxort and wait. I'd like to continue working while it renders in the background like in AE

I'm not familiar with how Photoshop uses AME, but I do know that there are several applications other than the primary professional video applications that use it. InDesign, for example, uses it for transcoding movies to be put into folios/magazines created in the digital publishing workflow (for tablets and such).

  • Media Encoder rendering MP4 files with AAC and M4V files leftover

    Hey all,
Just a quick question. My computers' media encoder has started rendering mp4 files and leaving the m4v and aac files there once the render is complete. The mp4 is fine but it's a bit anoying and messy that it's not deleting the files afterwards. Anyone familiar with this issue?
    Thanks

  • Adobe Media Encoder cuts off video layer when the Ultra Key effect is applied

I am working on a Mac (10.8.5) using the latest verison of Premiere Pro CC. I am using Ultra Key to remove the chroma key background from the "talent layer" and adding a "new background layer" behind the talent video layer. When I export directly from Premiere, the sequence exports as expected. However, I have many sequences, and wish to speed up the  process using Adobe Media Encoder. When I export the same sequence using Adobe Media Encoder, the top half of the "talent layer" is completly cut off:
The issue has something to do with the Ultra key effect because when I remove the effect from the "talent layer" it exports in tact (with a chroma key background of course). Adobe Media Encoder CC is up to date as well; are there any known bugs with Media Encoder CC and the Ultra Key effect in Premiere Pro?
    Thanks!

  • Adobe Media Encoder exports different video than what appears in CS4 timeline

I'm using Premiere CS4 to edit a short skiing video.  All shots were taken using a GoPro @ 60fps, 720p.  All of the clips were converted into slow motion by using "Interpret Footage" and setting the frame rate to 24.  I used the sequence preset "AVCHD 720p 24", and editing seemed to work fine.  The video played smoothly and correctly.  However, after exporting in Adobe media encoder, the video was far different than what I previewed in the timeline.  It seems as though each clip shows up at the correct time, but it disregarded any trimming I did to the clips and each one is played from the very beginning.  Also, each clip plays extremely slowly, and there is signifigant ghosting (frame blending issue?).  I can also see that the preview window that shows up while I set the export settings displays the incorrect video as well.  However, if i change it from "source" to "output", it displays it correctly.  I tried exporting using H.264 720 24p and the youtube HD widescreen preset, both of which failed.  I am somewhat new to HD video, but I cannot seem to come up with any reason why my video will not export correctly.  Any thoughts?

  • Adobe Media Encoder making blocky videos

The backstory: I have two Mac laptops: an old Powerbook G4/Panther running Imovie 4 and a brand new Macbook Pro/Snow Leopard running Imovie 9.
I've now made several FLVs that play beautifully on the internet: I imported old clips *that had been extracted using the Powerbook/Imovie 4* into my Macbook Pro/Imovie 9, edited the videos in Imovie 9, exported them as standard m4vs, then encoded them into FLVs using Adobe Media Encoder CS4 4.2+. They look terrific.
    The problem:
For the first time yesterday, I used my Macbook/Imovie 9 combo to import clips shot with the same exact camera, then did everything exactly the same. The exported m4vs look fine. However, the resulting re-encoded FLVs are badly blocky, as though a mosaic filter was laid on. This is mostly happening when there is any increased motion in the footage.
I tried exporting into .mov then encoding for Flash in the same way, and no difference. The adjustment I'm currently trying is to bypass the presets on AME to enable a 2-pass scan rather than 1. There does not appear to be a keyframe-interval selection option in AME CS4 4.2, or I would adjust that as well. This custom encoding is taking 5 times as long to complete as the preset encoding: over an hour versus 15-16 minutes. It may or may not work, but regardless, I don't have that kind of time - I have a bunch of videos to make.
I'm really sick about this, because my beloved Powerbook has a dying harddrive, which is why I bought the new laptop. I don't want to believe that it was Imovie 4 that was responsible for those lovely videos. Later Macs no longer support Imovie.
Is there something I'm missing that will make AME work with Imovie 9 to eliminate the problem? I know Imovie 9 is a turkey, but it did make those lovely videos with the old clips from version 4. There's gotta be a way.
    Thanks in advance.

After playing Youtube go to your temp internet
files and copy the file to HDD which is a mp4.
Add this to the Media Encoder and see if it will work now.
If it still does not work, your ME is prob. not working right.
I sometimes use AME as a converter and it handles mp4 just fine.

  • Win Media Encoder on VMWare - Video Devices does not work!!! MBP 15"

    Hi,
Im trying to setup Windows Media Encoder (9 series) through Windows XP (SP3 Virtualized on VMWare 2.0.5) to make a live webcast event on internet, but my Macbook Pro can't recognize my camcorder (Sony HVRA1)
I want to setup an live webcast event but when I use an Intel Windows native computer (as I have been doing) all works gook.
I've get a new Macbook Pro 2.53GHz 15" (aluminium) and I just cant make it work on Windows Media Encoder. The camcorder just doest exist inside Windows.
First thing I've done was try to find a Win Media Encoder for Mac, but I havent found any. Only converters but they not work with live events.
I could try others encoders but Im already on a server which just run Windows.
Any tips how to make it work?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi lgmmachado,
Presumably you connect the camcorder to the MBP using Firewire?
As far as I am aware one cannot access directly from a Virtual Machine a Firewire Port as it is not virtualised and no virtualisation software that I know of works directly with Firewire. I may be wrong here as I've never had the need to do so.
You would have to install BootCamp, then install Windows and then start up your Mac directly from the BootCamp/Windows partition to directly access the Firewire port from within Windows.

  • Adobe Media Encoder "expands" my video from it's original size

When I export an XDCAM HD422 file (as an .mxf) that has scaled or aspected SD footage on the timeline using Media Encoder it changes the aspect or expands the footage so it's out of frame slightly. If I have a mask on the timeline, it gets shifted to the right. None of these problems arise if I don't use Media Encoder. Does anyone have a solution to this....or a workaround?

here are screen shots of my sequence and export settings. Thanks for helping with this.

  • Steps or path to revert to original file after Media Encoder has shortened video length by 15min

I was trying to encode the video to decrease the upload time and instead reduced video length by 15 minutes.  I dont know how or what happened. after selecting encode.  It seemed to do what it was supposed to and then upon viewing the movie i realized much of the import video is not there...  I would appreciate any steps or measures i can try to rever to the original file.   i have the original on an sd card but, even when i right click and play its the 5 min video instead of 20

What apps are you using to open the original file that you copies to your local drive (list all that you have tried?  QT, VLC, WMP, PPro)?
You say original was 20 min and is now 5 min.  I don't see how AME or other Adobe apps would have done this to original file.
I'm wondering if there was an issue with file before it came into AME and AME encoded what all the other media player are seeing which is only 5 minutes.
In Windows, if you right click on the file and get properties, how long does windows think it is?

  • Adobe Media Encoder Produces No Video -- Audio Only

I'm encoding a .mov file (it's only about 10 seconds long) to a Web 320 x 240 500kbps .f4v file, and when it's finished, the encoded file is just a black screen with audio playing.

Try encoding it to a different preset. If it changes is, maybe there's a setting in the export settings within that preset that is disabling the video channel.
