Media Encoder Update problem - cannot export video

Hi, I just obtained a student license of Premiere Pro CS4, and I have a critical problem, I cannot export any videos.
Every time I go to export a sequence, Premiere reminds me to update the media encoder.
http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/7047/mediaencoderjz6.png
I have done both as instructed, and successfully installed the latest update to media encoder, but Premiere still fails to export any video, or even open Media Encoder. I do not have this problem on my laptop, only on my home computer.
I'm running Windows Vista, I have not installed any previous versions of premiere, my system spec is dual core 3ghz, 4gb ram, nvidia 8600gt.

See:
Support:kb407106 Error: "Encoding Failed. Could not read from the source"
Cheers

  • I'm having problem with exporting video from premiere pro cc 2014

I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 and I'm having problem with exporting video.
When I click Export and media, the window for exporting appears and it starts exporting video.
But after a few minutes, it looks like it has completed exporting video and says there's a bug in exporting.
It literally says it has a problem with compiling, but I don't know what the real problem is.
I tried many things like restarting computer and Premire Pro but it's no use.
But it works when I use Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 for exporting video.
If anyone knows any possibilities about why this problem happens, please let me know.

I'm having a similar issue.  When I go to export my project, I add it to the render queue, set it up with the h.264 settings that I've used with countless past versions of the program, and then hit render.  Randomly, at some point in the process, the render just stops and the ETA just keeps climbing.  I actually had to save an XMF file of the CC 2014 project and bring it into the previous CC version of Premiere just to finish it.  Even a clean re-install of CC 2014 doesn't work.

  • Export causes "Media Encoder update is available", though already updated

Summary: Export from within Premiere Pro CS5 ver 5.0.2 produces the dialog "Media Encoder update is available", even though the updater has already been run without error and reports "no updates available". Media Encoder version is 5.0.1. The export itself runs OK after dismissing the dialog.
Details: I updated Premiere Pro CS5 Production Premium from 5.0.1 to 5.0.2, using Adobe Updater. Running updater again (from either Premiere Pro or Media Encoder) produces a dialog:
Adobe Applications Manager: "Your applications are all up-to-date."
However each time I try to export a video (AVCHD 1080i/30 from Canon HF100), Premiere Pro gives this dialog:
    Dialog: Adobe Premiere Pro
"An Adobe Media Encoder update is available for this version of Pemiere Pro. To download the latest update, please run the Adobe Updater from the Help menu or visit http://www.adobe.com/go/updates"
    Media Encoder help/about says: Version 5.0.1.0 (64-bit)

Thank you for your patience and feedback as well as installation info.
We are still looking into this issue, but we do have a solution for you.
To solve this issue, you can put a shortcut of AME application in PPro folder and then PPro can find AME and launch it without errors reported in this thread.  Follow these steps:
    1.       Using Explorer, go to the folder
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS5\
    2.       In that folder, you should find the AME application called
“Adobe Media Encoder” or “Adobe Media Encoder.exe”
    3.       Right click on that file and select “Create Shortcut”.
A shortcut of that file will be placed in the same folder.
The shortcut file will be called “Shortcut to Adobe Media Encoder.exe”
    4.       Copy the shortcut to your PPro folder.
Most users who have this issue have installed PPro to a different folder rather than the default installation location.  Example: copy the above shortcut you created to E:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS5\
    5.       Rename the shortcut from “Shortcut to Adobe Media Encoder.exe” to “Adobe Media Encoder”.  If you have elected to show the file extension, it may have .lnk at the end of the file which should remain.
    6.       If PPro is open, close it and re-launch it.  You should now be able to launch AME from within PPro without an update reminder or other errors.
    That should do it.
Please do let us know if this solution does or does not work for you.

  • Adobe Media Encoder update is available for this version

When I exporting a sequence in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, there comes a screen appears and indicates that "Adobe Media Encoder update is available for this version."
I go to the page "www.adobe.com / go / updates and downloads" Adobe Media Encoder CS 5.5.1 for windows 64-bit "
Subsequently I start the download file and get a message "Some updates were not installed"
How do I fix my problem and get the latest update installed, or get Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 for not knowing modest and the available update for "Adobe Media Encoder"

I selected run as administrator, no effect.
I am using version 5.0.3, on win7  when i select help and update the adobe application manager reads "your aplications are all up-to-date", i would assume this is the current version.
No matter what i try to export from any project regardless of codec or output i receave this message
"an adobe media encoder update is availiable for this version of premierepro. to download the latest update, pleas run  the adobe updater form the help menue orvosot http://adobe.com/go/updates."
I went to the help menue and selected help and i still get the adobe application manager "your aplications are all up-to-date"
    thanks for the help

  • Media Encoder CS4 doesn't stretch video

I have a 720x576px clip (anamorphic), which I want to encode
into a flv with the right aspect ratio (720x405px). In the new
flash media encoder, you have three settings.
    - Scale to fit
    - Black borders
    - Change output size
But none of those settings allows me to stretch the video to
the right aspect ratio, I always get the file with 720x405, but
    black borders left and right.
    Check the screenshot here.
    Is this a bug?
    Nortau
    Screenshot

he video has a pixel aspect ratio different from 1:1. that is
because it is broadcast material, therefore it would be either
anamorphic or 1:1.067. so the video IS stretched and to convert it
to 1:1 pixel aspect ratio i must stretch it to the correct
proportions (4:3 or 16:9). Since AME (or any other software for
that matter) don't seem to embed/read the pixel aspect ratio of
files, i would have to go in after effects to edit the video to the
right proportions. we are a post production facility with loads of
video material to encode, and it would take us a lot of time to go
through an editing software for each video file, especially when we
could do it before with flash media encoder without problems.
taking away the possibility to stretch the video wasn't a
great usability choice from my point of view; the user should be
able to choose to do this if they want to do so and they know what
    they are doing.
Another isue i noticed is that when you crop video material
the encoded result is blurry. this seems to be because the video is
first scaled down to the final size, then cropped, then scaled up
again to fit the output size. this is definitely a bug.

  • Cannot export video clips.  Get message: "unable to create video for export"

Cannot export video clips from iPhoto to Finder folder.  Export fails with message "unable to create video for export: "
The video clips play correctly within iPhoto.
Software: iPhoto version 9.5 on OSX 10.9
    Hardware: Retina Macbook Pro 2.3 i7 8GB

Yes.  I have 3,184 video clips in this library.  I tested Reveal function by randomly selecting individual video clips and in every case the Reveal in Finder function worked correctly.  I also tested this on random selections of groups of video clips and, again, the Reveal function worked correctly in every case.
Some more info that may be relevant:
I have multiple iPhoto libraries.  My "main" library is very large (~30,000 files) and is located on an external hard drive (2TB WD) which is connected via USB.
The problem reported here is occuring on that "main" library.  I have not opened any other iPhoto library since installing the new release.
While the File>Export function does not work, I have been able to simply copy and paste video clips from iPhoto library to a folder on Mac hard drive.  It appears that meta data is copying correctly along with the video content.
I am able to import these copied video clips to iMovie.  Meta data is imported along with the video content and I'm able to perform iMovie editing functions on those clips without any problems.
In summary, the File>Export function still fails with the message "unable to create video for export."  Copying video clips and pasting them to interim folder seems to be a viable workaround enabling me to extract video clips from iPhoto for import to iMovie.  I will run additional tests to see if I can find a pattern to the video files that are being rejected by iPhoto Export function.

  • Media Encoder Update Not Helping

I just installed the latest media encoder update to see if it would resolve the Quicktime Animation codec problem, but it did not. When encoding a still image sequence to this format with all quality options set to high, it drops half of the frames, and the result is pretty crappy. I have verifed with another program that the codec is working properly, so it is obviously a fault of adobe media encoder or Premiere Pro CS4.
    rgds

Im having the same problem. Any hints on whats the next best codec to use? I need to render out a full res lossless file so i can encode it in squeeze. pro res looks ok but it falls apart in the encoder.

  • I installed the trial of Media Encoder CC but cannot find the imx30 preset. Where and how can i find and install this feature.

I installed the trial of Media Encoder CC but cannot find the imx30 preset. Where and how can i find and install this feature.

In the case of the trial mode, the license to MXF OP1a format as well as MPEG2 format are not activated if you install only Media Encoder only.  If this is the case, in order to activate those formats in the trial mode, please also install Premiere Pro, After Effects or Prelude and launch it at least once.  After this, re-launching Media Encoder should make MXF OP1a format available.

  • Adobe Media Encoder: Audio won't export with video

I am trying to convert an AVCHD video for viewing on my iPad 3. I use Adobe Media Encoder and select the iPad 2 settings (1920x1080) and it exports the video perfect, but no audio. I have "Export Audio" checked off. I tried it with 5 other settings and it just wont include the audio. Any ideas?

Seems random people are running in to this, so hopefully this solution will be found by whomever's looking.
If you're exporting video files from Final Cut Pro as .mov, and then trying to convert said .mov to an .mp4 using Adobe Media Encoder and are losing audio even though you're multiplexing, try this...
Make sure that you export only a 2-channel audio track from FCP.   When I export from FCP, I split my audio into various tracks by default.  Great for making master clips, but problematic if uploading to YouTube or doing further encoding in Adobe Media Encoder.   Like YouTube, if you have more than 2 tracks of audio, Media Encoder seems to get confused and ignores all audio tracks.  Combine all audio into a 2-channel stereo track and see if that solves the problem.
Regardless of editing program, see if reducing number of audio channels from source clip solves problem.

  • Exporting video from media encoder. Half of the video export other half goes blank/black

Hi! I'm in need of help I've been trying to export this video to media encoder for about 20days now. I'm working with premiere pro cs5.5 and after effects cs5.5-
Dynamic link, I've updated the two and everything, every time I try to export my video half willl export and I believe after effects crashes and thats when the other
half of the video goes blank/black, this happens everytime, it's very frustrating and I don't know what is causing this. it actually just started.
it also does this on cs5 as well.
    I am working on windows 7 HPE-510y Hewlett-Packard computer
    14gb of ram

Have you checked the output in AME? I always check that before I hit go to make sure that I haven't fouled something up and that the in and out points are what I want. I spot check all along the timeline.
I'm thinking that you have some parts of the Premiere Pro project that are shots or sequences that have been "Replaced with After Effects Composotion." If this is the case, does the blackness happen in one of these shots? If it does I'd suggest trying to render that shot in AE and replace it in the PPro Timeline. If After Effects is really crashing you'll be able to find out why.
A little more detail about your project would also help.

  • Premiere/Media Encoder can't render/export after 10.9.3 update.  Any Answers?

My computer ran the OSX 10.9.3 update a couple nights ago, and suddenly Premiere/Media Encoder can not export.  It just freezes up the computer until I cold crash it.  Same if I try to render a timeline in Premiere.  This issue just started yesterday.  It still persists after wiping my hard drive and doing a clean install of everything, which of course just put 10.9.3 back on there.  This issue does not exist on my laptop that has not been updated yet.  However, I have enough work and not enough time to be trying to edit everything on my laptop while this get worked out.  Has anyone else got this issue in the past day or two?

    Hey Todd,
I had two active projects that suddenly could not render/export.  One is quite massive and has RG Colorista quite a bit throughout it, however I could not export a timeline without any plugins on it.  The other project is also clean of plugins.  Then I started a new project and it went out just fine until I put the RG plugin on it.  But here is my newest glitch.  I just made a change to an old show and all of my titles done in Title Tool were resized and positioned.  Blown up and shifted to the right.  If I take the same file and put it on my laptop which still has not got 10.9.3, they are just fine.  Scaled properly and centered between title safe.  But now on 10.9.3 they are blown up and going off the screen.

  • Premiere pro CS4+media encoder CS4 problem encoding to WMV and MOV

    Hello,
I am new to CS4. I lurked around the meanders of CS4 help and FAQ. In spite of the large help database I could not find a solution to my issue.
I edited a little movie from shots I took during holidays. I edited in premiere pro cs4 and it is a bit faster than CS3 <yoohoo>
However I want to export the movie as NTSC source to high quality download. In the Expot settings,  I wrote a file output of course so it can encode and compile the movie somewhere on my HDD and I did not touch anything in standad NTSC source to high quality download values and tabs. In the end the movie should be around 848 mega.
I press OK, then Media Encoder pops up on screen. my project comes automatically in Media Encoder which is neat so I just had to click on start Queue but here is my problem...
I can wait for 4 hours or more, Media Encoder status states Encoding but nothing moves forward. Elapsed time remains at 00:00:00, Estimated Remaining remains blank.
Although something triggered my attention when I widen Media Encoder Source Name tab. It sounds like my project from Premiere Pro is placed in a temporary folder instead of using the regular save project file folder in ...>adobe>premiere pro>4>sebsofie2010b which strange.
I try to place a picture of my issue and perhaps it will help everyone.
This picture was taken about 1 hour and half after I tried to encode the movie for the fifth time.
    The status quotes "Encoding"...
Thanks in advance for any help

    Hello,
This is Song to an Illiad. I had to change Email address and password as I am switching provider soon.
So Ok to bypass the issue at that time, I simply transfered all files to a jumpdrive and re-did the composition at a friend house. Although my problem persist and Thank you for the Wiki link it was helpful. Sherlock free ware discovered several erronous Codec. Do not ask me why, how, when please. I do not toy around with codecs and all I do is update software but I have several software going from Adobe to Autodesk series as well as Nero Light version that came with my Dvd burner.  Should I also mention I play video games when down time permits, as such I updated several time the DirectX software. Beside this, what is it called... Dvix or Xvid, well something like that... prompted me about 2 months ago to update to a newer version which I did. Finally I installed a freeware to export an avi type to another found on Cnet.com a few months ago as the file could be seen in Premiere pro but there were no Audio track seen in premiere while the client gave me his camcorder and I knew there should be an audio track, it was a sort of camcorder that records on a memory sticks which is why the camera was small. It was a canon but nothing more detailed than that. Anyway, I had the camera with no drivers whatsoever and I had a hard time to find the driver for free online which is why I found a freeware or perhaps was it a shareware or a trial (I am not sure), anyway it decoded and re-encoded the movie which it did successfully with lots of image loss quality but it was succesful. I know I deliberatly threw the shareware or trial straight in the garbage once I was done because I do not want this kind of junk on my PC. Perhaps could it be the issue with Media Encoder not able to start?!?!
Here comes a couple of texts Copy/Past & image to describe what Sherlock found

What should I do? Can I just reinstall the codec from my Adobe CS4 Production Suite (Without) creating more issues and problems? It seemed the Wiki hints were helpful to pin point a problem but not always at giving solution.
    Thanks in advance,
    Seb
P.S: Could Adobe throw a little software to download to ensure all codecs are what they should be like and prompt user to reinstall straight from our Dvds? It would be soo much easier that way.

  • Media Encoder CS6 doesn't export any of the common formats like .MOV, .AVI, .AIFF .WAV, etc.

When I queue exports from Premiere CS6,  Media Encoder totally ignores any custom export settings, and chooses some completely different system defined default settings, which I did not choose in Premiere. In previous versions Premiere would always pass the encoding settings to the Media Encoder.
Update: When I tried to import the custom settings into Adobe Media Encoder, I got an error message: "Preset could not be imported. No exporter found for this preset." Then I've realized, that AEM doesn't even have a QuickTime export format!!! Actually it offers only 4 export formats: H.264 (MP4), FLV, F4V, and MP3. Then, when I queue an export with Premiere with one of those 4 formats, then AEM would accept it. Anything else - it just wouldn't work!!! So wait - am I missing something, or I literally cannot queue any other common format exports with AEM??? I need to work with MOV, AVI, AIFF, WAV etc. files, which all aren't accepted by the Media Encoder... Or am I missing something???
This is ridiculous. I am becoming quite fed up with Premiere CS6 bundle - in 20 minutes I have found already 4 diferent features, that worked in previous versions, and work no more in CS6
I don't know how it worked in CS5.5 - anybody?

I have found the solution in another thread!!! It's here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4503096
    1. Open this file:
On MAC: /Applications/Adobe Media Encoder CS6/Adobe Media Encoder CS6.app/Contents/Resources/txt/AddExporterList.txt
    On PC: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS6\txt\AddExporterList.txt
    2. Back it up to some other location.
    3. Then delete everything from it and paste this:
    # MediaCore Plugins
    # AME Plugins
    AudioWriter
    WinMediaWriter
    # AME Plugin Formats
    MPEG4
    H.264 Blu-ray
    4. Save it, and relaunch Media Encoder - voila! It worked for me and many others.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CC / Media Encoder CC Crashing On Export

    Hi,
I have a 1 hour project consisting of
    - iPhone 5 Video clips recorded at 1080p/30fps using app FilmicPro
    - Various Image files, imported as PSD's
    - WAV Sound files
    My Sequence Settings are:
    Export Settings are:
As you can tell by the file name, i already installed ALL updates.
I just installed a new graphics card (GTX 770) a few days ago, but these crashes were happening before i installed the card, and now after I've installed it, so it's not related at all (before i was just using my CPU (Intel HD 4600). (At the moment I have CUDA enabled).
    Full Specs
    - Windows 8.1 Pro
    - Adobe Premiere Pro 7.2.2
    - Adobe Media Encoder 7.2.2
    - Intel i7 4770k
    - 8GB RAM
    - NVidia GTX 770
The crashes always happen at the exact same place on both Premiere Export and Media Encoder, no idea what's causing it, I've played around with the settings and managed to export it a few times but not at the quality I want. If i render my entire sequence preview's first, and then export using preview files then it exports fine using MPEG Preview. Not exactly the format/quality I want though, if there is anything i have missed out then please ask, I do intend to check the boxes for Maximum Bit Depth and Maximum Render Quality
    P.S. I have already tried
    A) Clear Media Cache
    B) Reinstall Premiere/Media Encoder
    C) Change Location of Project Files
    Thanks,
    Jay

    Hi Jay Singh,
Thanks for posting on Adobe forums.
Please try to check the resolution on the PSDs in the Project. and Make sure that the resolution should not exceed more than 1920*1080. This is could be the issue on crash on export.
Let us know if this will help.
    Happy Editing,
    Sandeep
