Media encoder won't encode .flv

Hi,
Media encoder cc won't encode my x264 codec .flv file.
Error: media encoder doesn't support this compression type.
This is a .flv that was produced by Xsplit, WWW.xsplit.com

Adobe Media Encoder Help explicitly says that Adobe Media Encoder imports FLV files with the On2 VP6 codec:

  • CS4 Media Encoder won't encode!

    Hi!
Resently upgraded to CS4 and tried to encode a couple of
video files to FLV for a project, only to discover it did't work!
The media encoder didn't accept any video format, avi, mpeg etc to
be encoded. It accepted FLV files though...It worked flawlessly in
CS3, encoded anything you throwed at it, but not in CS4. Any
    clues??

Well, I open up the program by itself or trough flash. Then i
press the add button to find the file or i just drag it in, after
that, a window pops up that says "The file could not be imported".
Thats all, and as i said it doesen't matter what kind of file type
it is, exept FLV. The system i use is a macbook pro.

  • Flash won't import mp4 from Camtasia, demands an FLV; Media encoder won't convert to FLV; H264 isn't accepted either.

Flash won't accept the basic mp4 output from Camtasia, it tells me to use Media Encoder to convert it to FLV.
Media Encoder won't convert to F4V or FLV.
I used Media Encoder to convert to H264, but Flash will still not import it.
Could somebody please tell me the best export / convert / import options for getting Camtasia video into Flash (as an embedded video - can't do streaming).
    Any tips much appreciated.
Flash Pro CC 2014 and Camtasia Studio 8.4.4.
    cheers

  • CS6 Media Encoder won't open at all...

I installed CS6 Master Suite... Media Encoder won't open at all. No error message... nothing when I click on the icon.  I opened a project in Premiere... exported it to the Que... No media Encoder window..
Help please... I'm dead in the water....

Try holding down CTRL + ALT + SHIFT while launching AME, that's another way to clear prefs.  If that doesn't work, try deleting these two folders (NOTE: this will delete any custom presets or workspaces you've created):
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\6.0\
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\AME\6.0\

  • Premiere Pro CC won't encode anymore

Hallo and sorry for my bad english!
I'm in troubles with PPCC. I'm running the latest update. The problem is this: if i cancel a rendering during the encoding, after this operation PP won't encode anymore. I have to open a new project and import the old project to encode again. My system:
    I7980x
    DX58SO
    12GB ram
    GTX680 4GB
I use an MXO2Mini with MAX but the problem is not related to Matrox hardware since i've plug out it from the pc.When this problem happens the menù windows doesn't respond anymore. I click File and move to the Export line and nothing happens untill i click with the mouse. If this happens i know that PP won't encode anymore. I mean,i can choose my output format, the encoding window appears, but nothing happens. If i queue in Media Encoder the problem is still there.Nothing happens. If i don't want to open another project and import the old one,i have to reboot my pc. Closing and opening again PP doesn't work. I have close from task manager every Adobe app (dynamic link, service manager etc...),but it doesn't works.
I have Encore CS6 on my system with AME CS6 (i can't uninstall AME CS6 only. If i do i will loose Encore too...)
I have noticed that the UI is not working correctly too. If i select Effects in the Effects window, the selection box in which i can write the name of the effect is grayed out and i have to click in that area before i can see the cursor.
So...in the end...i'm having a lot of troubles with CC apps! I can't use AE for the menu delay and PP is really unstable on my system.
    Bests,
    Roberto
    PS
I have used Suites from CS5.5 and CS6. I have tested my system for a long time and never experienced issues. So i don't think that the problem is in my system (two years old and a LOT of stuff made with it!).
I'm changing my motherboard to add more ram,but i think that my current setup is really good for editing.

Thank you for the reply Jim,but i've already uninstalled and reinstalled PP just to see if i have a problem with installation. I have used Adobe cleaner tool before reinstall all CC apps, but the result is the same.
    Thank you again,
    Roberto

  • Preset Browser Setting for Youtube won't encode?

    Hi
I dragged a clip into AME (AVCHD H.264) and then selected and dragged the following preset from the Preset Browser on to my clip - YouTube 180pHD. I then pressed the green button to encode.
A message 'not currently encoding' comes up and it won't encode. Does anyone know why I can't encode or what is preventing the encoding?
Also I tried using the drop down arrows next to the yellow clip. If I select Youtube from the left drop down it only gives me about 3 options on the right drop down. If I leave the left one on H.264 I get more options on the right, including Match Source - High Bitrate (which seems to work for encoding, but not sure if it is a better selection than the YouTube preset?)

Thanks, took awhile to get back because it is not my camera or computer, but worked on my laptop (Asus) when I tested footage off Canon XA20. Recommended this as a purchase to community group, but they went for the Dell.
The footage was captured on a Canon XA20 - format AVCHD, and recording mode 35 Mbps (50.00P).

  • Encore and Encoder won't work.

Hello:  My frustrations just keep mounting.  My system is a windows platform, XP pro until windows 7 is released, so running at 32, core 2 quad.
I tried to launch Encore today and it kicked me out with an error.  I tried to launch it independently of premeire and same thing.  So I did a reinstall of Encore, Bridge and Encoder. Still same problem.  Encoder won't work.  It tried  Media Encoder and it worked for one mpg and then on the second one (13 minute video) it choked up. After that both won't work.  How am I suppose to export and author?
Does any one have any solutions?  My project is huge.  Could file size be an issue, if so, any management tips?
    Thanks, Christine

You should post this in the Encore forum.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS4 stops encoding!

OS: Windows XP 32 bit SP3.
Hello, I've been working with Premiere Pro CS4 and Media Encoder CS4 since 2008 and it always worked fine. Now i've got a big problem that I don't understand: Media Encoder CS4 stops encoding at about 10-12 seconds after the encoding starts.
The curious thing is that the software really does not crash, it just stops encoding, the time counter freezes, but Media Encoder does not crash itself, you can add or delet video, edit preferences, etc.
It doesn't matter what kind of video I try to encode, I've tried Premiere sequences but also independent video files. It always happens the same and I really don't know what to do.
I have the latest versions of both software... can anybody please help me??

That software and OS are both pretty old.  You may find there aren't too many people still using them to help on this one.

  • Premiere pro CS4+media encoder CS4 problem encoding to WMV and MOV

    Hello,
I am new to CS4. I lurked around the meanders of CS4 help and FAQ. In spite of the large help database I could not find a solution to my issue.
I edited a little movie from shots I took during holidays. I edited in premiere pro cs4 and it is a bit faster than CS3 <yoohoo>
However I want to export the movie as NTSC source to high quality download. In the Expot settings,  I wrote a file output of course so it can encode and compile the movie somewhere on my HDD and I did not touch anything in standad NTSC source to high quality download values and tabs. In the end the movie should be around 848 mega.
I press OK, then Media Encoder pops up on screen. my project comes automatically in Media Encoder which is neat so I just had to click on start Queue but here is my problem...
I can wait for 4 hours or more, Media Encoder status states Encoding but nothing moves forward. Elapsed time remains at 00:00:00, Estimated Remaining remains blank.
Although something triggered my attention when I widen Media Encoder Source Name tab. It sounds like my project from Premiere Pro is placed in a temporary folder instead of using the regular save project file folder in ...>adobe>premiere pro>4>sebsofie2010b which strange.
I try to place a picture of my issue and perhaps it will help everyone.
This picture was taken about 1 hour and half after I tried to encode the movie for the fifth time.
    The status quotes "Encoding"...
Thanks in advance for any help

    Hello,
This is Song to an Illiad. I had to change Email address and password as I am switching provider soon.
So Ok to bypass the issue at that time, I simply transfered all files to a jumpdrive and re-did the composition at a friend house. Although my problem persist and Thank you for the Wiki link it was helpful. Sherlock free ware discovered several erronous Codec. Do not ask me why, how, when please. I do not toy around with codecs and all I do is update software but I have several software going from Adobe to Autodesk series as well as Nero Light version that came with my Dvd burner.  Should I also mention I play video games when down time permits, as such I updated several time the DirectX software. Beside this, what is it called... Dvix or Xvid, well something like that... prompted me about 2 months ago to update to a newer version which I did. Finally I installed a freeware to export an avi type to another found on Cnet.com a few months ago as the file could be seen in Premiere pro but there were no Audio track seen in premiere while the client gave me his camcorder and I knew there should be an audio track, it was a sort of camcorder that records on a memory sticks which is why the camera was small. It was a canon but nothing more detailed than that. Anyway, I had the camera with no drivers whatsoever and I had a hard time to find the driver for free online which is why I found a freeware or perhaps was it a shareware or a trial (I am not sure), anyway it decoded and re-encoded the movie which it did successfully with lots of image loss quality but it was succesful. I know I deliberatly threw the shareware or trial straight in the garbage once I was done because I do not want this kind of junk on my PC. Perhaps could it be the issue with Media Encoder not able to start?!?!
Here comes a couple of texts Copy/Past & image to describe what Sherlock found

What should I do? Can I just reinstall the codec from my Adobe CS4 Production Suite (Without) creating more issues and problems? It seemed the Wiki hints were helpful to pin point a problem but not always at giving solution.
    Thanks in advance,
    Seb
P.S: Could Adobe throw a little software to download to ensure all codecs are what they should be like and prompt user to reinstall straight from our Dvds? It would be soo much easier that way.

  • Encore won't encode some PSD files in Flash

I have succesfully completed a DVD project on Encore (4.0)  with mpg elements edited in Premier Pro (4.0). A number of slide sequences constructed from jpgs converted
to pds files in Photoshop (cs5) have been used, plus some (individual, single) text slides, (constructed in Photoshop) have also been included with the DVD project. All of this works
fine. However, when I render the whole project for Flash, the text files are not included! During the render process the file details are displayed but no yellow progress bar appears.
The Flash file is prefereable to the DVD as this enables the Flash file to be available from a central common drive or server.
Can anyone assist me with this? I can find nor reference to these types of issues iether on the forum or anywhere on the net.

    i5, 4 Gb Ram (Soon be 8)
    Snow Leopard
    Premier Pro 4.0

    Photoshop CS5

    Hi Stan
And thanks for the prompt reply. I will try this twixt Christmas and new year. My recollection was that the text created in Premier
when imported into Encore looked “poor” as an mpg. However I had not rendered the project in Flash at that stage. Will
have to look at how Premier works direct to Flash without Encore?

  • Won't encode mts file?

I do this almost everyday at school, with the same Premiere Pro version as I got here a home - CS4. But at home it won't encode mts file. It says that the file is not supported. What can I do to make it it "supportive"??  Don't know what's wrong, and it's killing me.
    Thanks.
    Rebekka.

    Do you know about CODECS?
Do you know what CODECS are on the computer at school and NOT on your home computer?

  • Adobe Media Encoder (Pr CS4) encodes my videos without the effects of the plugins Genarts Sapp

    Hello,
My Adobe Media Encoder (Premiere CS4) encodes my videos without the effects of the plugins Genarts Sapphire. I did not have this problem with CS2 and also he encodes all other plugins.
Do you know why? I really need to solve this serious issue.
    Any help will be apprecieted,

OK, good. Go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Pro\4.0 and look for two files called "Plugin Loading.log" and "Headless Plugin Loading.log" (without the quotes). These are just text documents, so open them up in Notepad or similar and compare the two; what you're looking for are references to your Sapphire plugins. What you'll probably find is that in "Plugin Loading.log", the plugins are loaded successfully--it will say something like "The plugin was successfully loaded from the registry."--whereas in "Headless Plugin Loading.log" the same plugin will be marked "The plugin is marked as Ignore, so it will not be loaded."
If you see that, let me know and I'll try to walk you through the steps of correcting it. If you like, I'd be happy to look at the log files; attach them to a reply here (they're small documents).

  • IDVD won't encode - AGAIN!

I thought I had my previous problem figured out, but iDVD won't encode my video again. It seemed to be working fine since I did a complete format and re-install of everything, but here's the situation...
I have my DVD designed and ready to go. I go into Project Info and sure enough, as long as the Encoding quality is set to "Best Performance", everything is encoding. However, if I change it to High or Professional Quality, the Assets/Encoding windows resets, goes gray and the files never start to encode.
The only thing I can think of is that iDVD thinks I am too low on drive space. I'm using a MacBook Pro with 55 GB free. There's nothing on here that doesn't need to be (I even erased my original video files to clear off more space) but iDVD just won't encode. No error messages, no warning. Just nothing. Switching back to Best Performance and the files start encoding immediatly.
Any ideas on why it won't? Do I need to go out and spend more money I don't have an on external firewire drive to do a simple video DVD?
    Thanks.
    Matt

The format and re-install worked for me. I create an IMG first, and you can then mount that onto your system (place it on the desktop and double-click it) and it can be view just like a DVD by loading up the DVD player software.
But as I said, the tracks do not render until you start to create the DVD/img under High or Professional settings. It will render in the background under Best Performance, but the quality of that output isn't acceptable.
Give that a try and see if the final output works for you.

Media Browser won't open iPhoto images after 10.4.5 update!@#$%^!@#$
I could use iPhoto images in Media Browser before the update - is this happening to anyone else?
I have restarted... no change. Maybe I'll try opening and closing iPhoto once.

    Thanks for the reply.
I am on Pages 2 also... Hmmm, Perhaps I just don't know what I am doing - New to Pages. I see my Library, Last Roll and all my albums in the Media Browser but when I double click one of them nothing happens - Is there some other way to open them?
