Media Encoder Writer not found

I have used this many times with no problems but today I went to go export something and I tried to encode it and got the an error message. The message says no writer found. What does this mean? I am not sure what is going on. I have not been able to find anythign on the web either regarding this issue.
Thanks,

Can you post the text from the Error Log?

  • Adobe media encoder export error  "writer not found"

When trying to export to wmv using adobe media encoder I get an export error of "writer not found". I did a search and found others having the same issue with no fix as far as I can see. Just wondering if anyone has any more iformation on this. I'm using Vista Ultimate and Premiere CS3.
    Thanks

I registered the WMEncoderHelper.exe file with regserv, but I still get
the "writer not found error". I wish I knew what codec it is trying to find and use.

  • Cannot create Windows Media with PRE 8 - Writer not found

I have recently installed PRE 8 (paid single user) on my Windows 7 dual-core machine, and I have installed the 8.0.1 patch.  I can import, edit and render video and audio just fine.  I can save files as AVI and MPEG, but whenever I try to save a my movie as a Windows Media file, the rendering progress bar is displayed followed immediately by a pop-up entitled "Export error" with notification "Writer not found."  I have reinstalled PRE8, turned of my antivirus, but nothing seems to resolve this problem. I cannot seem to find any remedy on the web.  Anyone else experiencing this issue?

As I mentioned above I am running Windows 7 (omitted above: 64 Home Premium Edition). I have all updates installed, and I have verified I have latest device drivers.  With regards to QuickTime, I am suffering from the accursed "Error 46: Could not load or fine Quicktime Active X control." So I am running withouy quicktime, but do I really need an Apple product to produce Windows Media?
I have tried to correct the Error 46 problem by using the "Subinacl/Reset" solution desribed in many places (e.g. http://research.gerger.com/?view=lab:en&aID=1006 under "Quicktime Annoyances"), but that solution isn't working for me.  I can see that the issue is with registry priviledges -- no one can read the QT registry keys once QT is installed ("Insufficient Priviledge"). I suspect this solution isn't working, because I never installed an account named "administrator" on my machine, and it looks like the reset.cmd script assumes that you have.
I sure hope I don't need Quicktime to produce Windows Media, otherwise, I have spent a lot of money on a tool (PRE 8)  that won't serve my needs.

  • Export error: Writer not found

    Hello,
I am using PPCS3 with Aspect HD.
I am using the Cineform HD 30p preset.
I keep getting an export error: writer not found
when I try to export a short movie using two uncompressed .avi's I obtained from 3DS Max 2009.
Any ideas what "Writer not found" means.
    Simon

Have you installed anything CS4 at all? Even a public beta of Soundbooth or some other non-Premiere component?
I never did find out what I installed that trashed .wmv export for me in Pr CS3 on my old XP system. Maybe it was the beta of Sb or maybe it was the free stand-alone Microsoft Windows Media Encoder.
Anyway, a full uninstall and reinstall of CS3 will likely fix the problem, but I can't say for sure because I never got around to doing it. I used the MS Windows Media Encoder until I could load CS3 on my new system (dual-boot XP32 with Vista64).
EDIT: All is well with .wmv export on the new system. No CS4 on XP32 and no WME there, either.

  • Media Encoder Will Not Launch - MSVCR110.dll

Since I'm not getting any help in the Premiere Forum, I'm re-posting this here....
After installing updates to both MS and Adobe CC this morning, I cannot get the Media encoder to launch. However After Effects launches just fine. Premiere crashes during the splash screen but the error is different.
Media encoder doesn't even make it to the splash screen.

Nevermind, I got it working last night by uninstalling the programs that Patch Tuesday broke. Premiere, Media Encoder, and I found out that Prelude wasn't working either.
All working now after an uninstall, reboot, and reinstall. The patches also reset my creative cloud folder from it's custom location to default.location, and I have to move it back to the other location. My SSD is smallish and I didn't want the data files there, just the OS and the program files.
Good to know. Thanks for reporting back!

  • Media Encoder CS6 not working with Premiere

    Hi
I have been merrily editing a lager job in Adobe Premiere CS6 and then queuing the time lines to export in media encoder CS6 done the entire job everything rendered fine then Bam all of a sudden when I try and render I get all the audio a couple of frames of video then just black!!
I have tried different codecs same result, I have tried different timelines same result, When I export directly out of Premiere without going through Media encoder all works fine, when I try encoding a file directly in media encoder works ok, It just seems to be the link between Premiere and Media encoder that not working as it should
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Hi Folks
Has no one had an issue exporting to Media encoder from Adobe Premiere CS6?

Any chance this gets fixed soon?  I'm shooting with an AF-100, and at this point I'm still using Final Cut to transcode my footage so I can have audio.  I've also noticed the video jumps around even when it does have audio.  Prelude has been extremely problematic for me, and it doesn't have a way to bring in clips that returned errors upon importing, I have to write down the clip numbers and bring them in individually.  I've also tried just dropping the file structure from the card straight to the hard drive.  It's a huge problem, and is keeping me from making the switch fully from FCP 7.

  • Media Encoder CC not using GPU acceleration for After Effects CC raytrace comp

I created a simple scene in After Effects that's using the raytracer engine... I also have GPU enabled in the raytracer settings for After Effects.
When I render the scene in After Effects using the built-in Render Queue, it only takes 10 minutes to render the scene.
But when I export the scene to Adobe Media Encoder, it indicates it will take 13 hours to render the same scene.
So clearly After Effects is using GPU accelleration but for some reason Media Encoder is not.
I should also point out that my GeForce GTX 660 Ti card isn't officially supported and I had to manually add it into the list of supported cards in:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC\Support Files\raytracer_supported_cards.txt
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CC\cuda_supported_cards.txt
While it's not officially supported, it's weird that After Effects has no problem with it yet Adobe Media Encoder does...
I also updated After Effects to 12.1 and AME to 7.1 as well as set AME settings to use CUDA but it didn't make a difference.
    Any ideas?

    That is normal behavior.
The "headless" version of After Effects that is called to render frames for Adobe Media Encoder (or for Premiere Pro) using Dynamic Link does not use the GPU for acceleration of the ray-traced 3D renderer.
If you are rendering heavy compositions that require GPU processing and/or the Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously multiprocessing, then the recommended workflow is to render and export a losslessly encoded master file from After Effects and have Adobe Media Encoder pick that up from a watch folder to encode into your various delivery formats.

  • Why is Media Encoder app not listed in the apps for download in CC?

Media Encoder application does not appear in the list of apps I can download from Creative Cloud.
It appears as separate application in the Adobe products, so NOT part of Premiere Pro or similar.
How can I get to download the Media Encoder app?

    Hi Chris,
Please refer the thread: Re: Media Encoder CC not listed in the list of app in CC.

  • Adobe Media Encoder is not installed, but it is

So I just bought Creative Cloud and have just started to try to figure out how to use After Effects today.
I have imported a movie and added some text animations, and I am trying to export the video to the Media Encoder but I keep getting the following error.
AEGP Plugin AEDynamicLInkServer: Adobe Media Encoder is not installed. Please download and install it to use this feature. Go to https://creative.adobe.apps . ( 5027 :: 12 )
After I click "OK" I get the next message:
AEGP Plugin AEDynamicLinkServer: Failed to connect to Adobe Media Encoder. ( 5027 :: 12 )
So I really don't know what do because I have just started using After Effects but I would like some input on how to fix it because I would be able to like to export a video at some point.
The Render Engine is installed but whenever I try to open it nothing happens but After Effects opens again. At one point I had four After Effects open at once and didn't realize it.
If it matters, I did install the CUDA plugin.
So if anyone could give me some information or support on this matter I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks.

Simply go to your Creative Cloud app and install the Media Encoder.

  • Premiere Pro error saying Media Encoder is not installed (it is)

I'm trying to export a sequence from Premiere Pro CC 2014 to Media Encoder CC. After changing all the export settings to what I want in Premiere, I go to select the Queue button and receive the message "Adobe Media Encoder is not installed. Please download and install it to use this feature. Go to https://creative.adobe.com/apps". I have Media Encoder open right now. Any idea why they aren't communicating? I'm using a Macbook Pro btw.

You need AME 8.0.1 to match that version of Premiere. The most up to date for both is 8.2.0. Try clicking on help-updates in each program rather that using CC updater.

  • CS4 media encoder will not load

I started having this problem on Saturday.
To begin with media encoder was not encoding properly, certain transitions were freezing in the final output.
Then it ceased to load altogether. I have rebooted, re-installed, gone back to a previous restore point (this crashed everything) and spent the best part of yesterday and today fixing it to the point where I am back to square one, despite a complete re-install.
When I load up media encoder either from premiere or standalone, it gets to the end of the splash screen and then comes up with this message "Adobe Media Encoder CS4 has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I am at my wits end as I need to be able to encode my current project desperately.
S'funny because I tried installing it on my laptop, which has a lot less memory and a slower processor than this machine, and it worked. Only trouble is that machine has not the power to run premiere so I am still stuck
I am attaching the log file it wants to send each time it crashes incase that means anything.

Your text file is still queued, so I can't see it, but even then it would be doubtful it would be any help to solve your problem. The not loading message is most likely caused by another process running in the background, an incompatible codec in your material and/or project or a driver issue. You need to be far more specific with lots of extra details if you want our help. Look in the WIKI under troubleshooting and try all the suggested steps. If that does not help, answer the 16 questions at the bottom to start with.

  • Media encoder will not encode my project files

My CS4 Adobe Media Encoder will not start encodeing it goes any where from 0:04- 0:17 elapsed time then stopes and does nothing. I have also tried to update it t the latest version but the update wont install, I download it fine and it loads to where the green bars almost hit the end then they flash to 0% and work there wayback up faster and this is repeated continuously till I stop it. I am running a trial version of Adobe CS4 Master collection.

    >I am running a trial version of Adobe
The trial version has file type (codec) limitations... and will only run for 30 days

  • Media Encoder saying "The Adobe Product that installed Media Encoder has not activated"

I'm using Captivate 6 and one of the applications installed alongside this is Adobe Media Encoder. I've recently moved to a new Laptop. I de-activated Cap6 on the old one and sucessfully reactivated it on the new one. However, when I try to run Media Encoder on the new laptop I get a dialog box stating that "The Adobe Product that installed Media Encoder has not been activated". Does anyone know how I can resolve this?
    Mike

    nominder,
Start by making sure your products are updated to the latest versions.  Launch Premiere Pro and choose Help>Updates.  Do all the updates (if any) and restart the computer.
As far as AME is concerned, you were one click shy of your desired goal - hitting the start button on AME.  AME works in the background so you can keep working in another Adobe application.  So the workflow is thus.
within Premiere Pro - file>export media
choose correct settings for your output type and click ok
AME launches and ques up the render - click start...
    Hope this helps,
    Dennis

  • CS6: Premiere exports MXF Op1a (mpeg based) but Media Encoder does not.

As a company we use several local machines with a full installation of CS6.
Premiere Pro exports in our broadcast format (MXF Op1a - mpeg based - Long GOP - 50Mb - Top Field First - etc...) still Media Encoder does not.
They we both installed in the same procedure, full installation of CS6. MXF presets are present on both directories (Premiere and Media Encoder).
ME simply doesn't recognize "any know exporters" even if I force a preset, when it comes to MXF.
We have to import every single video into Premiere to export as MXF. It's difficult to create an effective workflow this way.
Any thoughts on why is this happening?
    NOTE:
    - Updated twice all machines - first to 6.0.3, now to 6.0.5 = no result
    - Copied presets from a working trial installation = no result
    - Microsoft based OS core i7 with 12Gb RAM, 3Tb HD and Nvidia Quadro 4000
    Regards, RicardoM

I've read a lot of suggestions towards similar issues. None worked.
    - installed codec packs incluiding different mpeg variations = no result
    - copied /common preset files from premiere to AME = no result
    - copied and replaced the full directory of AME from another working AME (with MXF exporter) = no result
    - re-installed CS6 = no result
    - updated CS6 twice = no result
    - added MXF Preset zip file available in the official Adobe support (although it refers to mac presets) = no matter... no result
I really don't know what else to do.
It's difficult to accept suggestions like "format c and start over" cause of the impact on the production room, so I really need more options other than the extreme ones...
    Any ideia Jim Simon?
    Thanks in advance!
BTW: Must add that in all processes above, MXF exporting was allways possible in Premiere, just not in AME.
