If you have already put a lot of files into the top-level (root) folder then you will not be able to create additional sub-folders. Delete some or all of your songs first from the player, create a folder structure and then put your songs back on, this time into the folders. You can get away with just one subfolder, called Music (or whatever) with all of your files in this folder.
I think I'm right in saying that the Muvo TX FM can only see down to the level of one subfolder; if you go deeper than this then the songs will not be seen bu the player.

  • How can I export an iMove Project if the Event file was deleted?  (Missing Media error message)

    Deep iMovie question:
I accidentally deleted various EVENT files from my iMove EVENTS folder.  Yes, they are really gone ... this is NOT a matter of restoring them from the trash.
The projects are still there ... I can still watch the projects as long as I am in iMovie ... but if I try to export the Project I get the MISSING MEDIA error message.
Logic tells me that if I can view the project ... the  file has to be SOMEWHERE inside my computer ... else I couldn't be watching it ... right?  I mean what am I watching if not some file somewhere which has moving pictures stored in it?
So HOW do I get to something I can export?  What am I watching when I watch the project?
I have iMove 08 on iMac with OS 10.6.8
Normally works great for my simple needs ... except if you move or delete an event file ...
    Can anyone out there help?
    thank you,
    Natasya

If you don't have the original files then I'm afriad you don't have anything to work with.

  • Capture Media error in javascript level

I am new in strobe media playback and OSMF. I notified that there should be calls in Flash for media error event (eventMaps[MediaErrorEvent.MEDIA_ERROR]). Could I retrieve the error ID, error message in javascript level, by adding listener in the callbacks of javascriptCallbackFunction, as similar as below
    function onJavaScriptBridgeCreated(playerId) {
         if (player == null) {
                                                           player = document.getElementById(playerId);
// Add event listeners that will update the
            player.addEventListener("durationChange", "onDurationChange");
                                                           player.addEventListener("complete", "onCompleted");
                                                           player.addEventListener("mediaError", "onMediaError");
if it is right, what is the signatures for javascript function onMediaError? Thanks very much

The OSMF/SMP player will toss error messages out to another JavaScript function by default - it looks for:
onMediaPlaybackError  and if that function is present, it will pass the following 4 arguments:
    (playerId, code, message, detail)
Listen for that and you will get all you need on any error.

  • Add Media Error

i am extremely new to the adobe premiere elements 7 program and i have been having some trouble using it. i am a high school football player and i am trying to take game films from our season and edit them to create a highlight film to send to colleges. I have been trying to import the games off DVDs copied by my coach. The DVD files are .VOB and from what i understand this is a supported format for this program. However, whenever i go to add the media, the files load and then the adding media window comes up but an error message comes up. This error window reads something to the extent of " add media error...The file type is either not supported or the prgram is missing a codec..." I know that the file type is supported so i figure that there is a missing codec. The weird thing is that occasionally after a few minutes, one of the files from the dvd will show up in the organize window. Only one file, not all of them (there are two files on each DVD, the first and second half of the game)will show up for SOME games. Can anyone give me insight into why i keep receiving this error or how i can fix the missing codec problem, if thats even the problem at all?

If one of those VOBs is VIDEO_TS.VOB, then that isn't anything you can use, and you'll get that error message. Menus have 0 at the end of the filename, VTS_01_0.VOB, and will import but they aren't anything you can really use.
Many people have problems working with files from DVDs, especially with audio being out of sync, and the recommendation is to convert the usable vobs to DV-AVI first:

  • R1800 from Aperture - discrepancies in settings causing "media errors"

After upgrade to SL i have been having some issues with printing to R1800 - i consistently get "media errors" when trying to print edge to edge on some media types.
Aperture and the epson print drivers do not seem to play together well... in most cases when you modify the default paper to say 4*6 sheet feed no border it switches to roll paper feed which in my case is always empty - hence the error messages about out of media...
You can see the incorrect setting once you have set all your prefs in the print dialog when you go back to the print settings dropdown (under printer selection on my window) and select print settings... for certain paper selections (in my case) A4/sheet/borderless + 6*6/Sheet/borderless all end up with "roll paper borderless" which means i get the "media error".
Can anyone else confirm this issue, and if so is there any clue as to whether this is an Aperture issue or an Epson driver issue.

Can anyone else confirm this issue.
I have been able to print edge to edge on 4*6 and A4 from Photoshop and iPhoto so i suspect this is an issue with Aperture.

  • "Add Media Error" - Premier Elements 7

    Question for everyone.
My laptop (with P.E. 8) is in the shop so I am using my P.E. 7 edition on my home computer to create a simple project.  After attempting to add a four media clip (by the way, all 4 clips are very small, short), I am getting this error pop-up:
"Add Media Error - There is not enough memory to add the requested media."
Now, I can tell you that on my computer, 90% of my work is sitting in an external, 2 terabyte hard drive.  I have over 200 Gigs of free space on my home computer.  This new, short project is the one of the only projects currently sitting on my desktop.  There is no way that I am out of memory.
Currently, while typing this question on this forum, I'm defragmenting my hard drive and doing a disk clean up.  Perhaps my settings are off?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

  • Stage 4 Multiplexing - Media error in Power calibration 0x73,0x03

System always worked fine.  Any help on this?  Thank you, John

    Hi
As I remember it - it used to be when using Cheap Brands of DVDs e.g. Memorex or NoName ec.
    Else
    Multiplexing Error
Multiplexing error is a very complex problem due to many things (long long list following) - one common but not obvious reason is that material on the iDVD menu goes outside the TV-Safe area (or just touching it).
So first - turn on TV-Safe area and move any object well inside of this.
Wide screen stretched - usually (as I think) it is due to making a 4x3 movie in a 16x9 wide-screen project OR the other way around. This forces one to on flat-screen TV (or other) set the presenting view right - My has 4x3, wide-screen, zoom and auto-wide-screen and I have to switch this by my remote for some DVD I've made "wrong" way.
Now my long long list on Multiplex Error
    LONG LONG LONG LIST

Use of strange video/audio material e.g. .avi, .wmv, .mp3 etc.
    I only use.
Video - StreamingDV (miniDV tape via FireWire) and
Audio - .aiff (as on audio-CDs) (else converted to this .aiff 48KHz)
Photo - .jpg (.bmp known problematic)
    Chapters !
    A.    Using strange letters in video project name e.g. +,/; etc. keep to a-z and 0-9 strange letters in project name e.g. +
as described by Donnyboy69.  Does the title of your project have any symbols or decimal points in it. If so, that is why you are getting the error. I had a project that had a + sign which caused the same problem. I renamed it without the symbol and low and behold, it worked.
    B.    Location of Chapters
    • Can’t be at start or end of movie (Skip first/start one - iDVD sets this by it self. At the End - no need)
    • Not in a transition (or within 2-3 seconds from it)
Important when from iMovie HD6 or previous - Now also observed when using FCE 4

Do a safe reboot (by holding down the shift key until you see the spinning gear on gray background, then release, then restart when your start-up screen appears).
I always makes a DiskImage first and test this so that it runs OK
I use only - Verbatim DVDs
    I use only - DVD-R
I burn at an as slow speed possibly e.g. x1
    This gives good DVDs

    Multiplex Error
    Chuck, Chicago 2/7/2009.
Back again. Here is what I have found to work. I also have and use a LaCie DVD-R/RW DL external drive and a LaCie external hard drive as well. Since yesterday I have tried a few ways to burn a themed iDVD project having four 56 minute movies on it, amounting to 226 minutes onto a DVD DL disc, capacity 240 minutes. Apple tech support really didn't know what to do but gave me a very good tip. I had two options left. Apple tech support's tip was to try disc image. One of the replies on a thread with this subject said not to, but my experience today is good. Put your project onto "Burn to disc image," under "iDVD, file." Yesterday encoding took me 23 1/2 hours. Overnight for iDVD disc image, encoding took 21 1/2 hours (again) while I slept. This morning I tried to copy/burn disc image to a DVD with Roxio Toast 7, and it stopped near the end of the burn with some kind of "error" message. So then I tried Utilities> Disc Utility> Burn icon, and followed it through. Be sure to click the DVD DL drive in the window "Burn disc in.". I had one other problem though. At the end of a 46 minute copy, it started to verify, and at the end of verify it rejected the burn. So I tried again, and when "verify" appeared, I clicked on "Skip." The disc finished burning and is doing fine and well. A long and tortuous process, but at last something works. I made several additional copies using Disc Utility. Best wishes. Chuck, Chicago.
    2. Disconnect any other external devices not absolutely needed.
e.g. external USB/USB2 hard disks, other FW hard disks etc.

(Not a 'guy' but I will answer!)
First, I do not think that mixing wide-screen and standard makes a difference in iDVD.
Second, you should use a better brand of DVD disk. Also, many of us have experienced fewer problems on playback with DVD-R disks. Recommended brands here are Verbatim, Maxell and Taiyo Yuden. Memorex and TDK are not consistent and may not give you a correct burn. They apparently have fewer layers in the composition of the disk. I have always used Verbatim DVD-R disks and have not had any burn problems.
Also, choose a slower burn speed, 4x or less.
Third, to determine if the iDVD project will burn properly, create a disk image file (from within iDVD, go File->Save as Disk Image) and test it. Mount the disk image and then open DVD Player (in Applications) and view your project. If it plays correctly, you can then burn the actual DVD disk from the disk image file using Disk Utility.

I did everything I've seen suggested, but a friend (who used to be an Apple Genius) suggested that I do a safe reboot (by holding down the shift key until you see the spinning gear on gray background, then release, then restart when your start-up screen appears).
It worked, and I got a clean burn from iDVD.
Hopefully this can help other people.

Well, I finally got it, and it was odd enough to post here incase anyone looks this topic up again. Many things were tried, including burning the unedited film, the edited film without titles and chapter markers, abbreviating the chapter markers in case length was the issue (remember the old iMovie used to truncate them when moving to iDVD?). In the process, I noticed that one, and only one, chapter marker was on the same line as the title marker. All the others were on the line above. The only way I seemed able to change that was to clip a few seconds of film. After that last clip, the offending marker took a place on the line above, as were all the others. That run published, compiled completely and burned. That's one for the books.
    One user more writes
To add my experience with Multiplex Errors using iDVD (7.0.4), I recently created two iDVD projects
Video from both passed from FCE 4.01 with chapters
One project worked fine in creating disk image file
    The other gave Multiplex Errors
I tried suggestions to remove special characters and no chapter marks at beginning, but nothing worked
Note that I've used iDVD for dozens of projects and this is first time I've run into Multiplex Errors
Anyway, for problem project, I tried an experiment where I removed all chapters in FCE and passed to new iDVD project
    This time multiplex errors gone
So had something to do with chapters
So now I tried numerous experiments to remove individual chapters and try again creating disk image with new iDVD project
After numerous tries, I was able to narrow problem down to 1 "Bad" chapter mark
That is, when I left the "bad" chapter in my FCE project and passed to iDVD, iDVD gave multiplex error
When I removed "bad" chapter mark (and others in), no multiplex error
As a final experiment, I moved "bad" chapter mark about 5-10 sec's beyond original point and passed to iDVD, the multiplex errors now magically went away and I was able to finally create my disk image.
I have no idea why this worked, but thought I'd mention here in case someone else runs into similar problem.

In addition to Bengt's fine advice, burning errors can occur if you have located any of your menu buttons wholly or partly outside of the safe TV viewing area. Go to your main project menu, then click on View/Show TV Safe Area, to check. Drag into the safe viewing area any buttons that are outside the safe viewing area.
    Russ One - suggest this
Multiplex Error-There was an error during muxing preparation
One thing that worked for me was to export the video w/o chapter markers as a self contained movie (thereby not loosing the edits & etc). Then make a new FCE project and import that movie into a new sequence and add the chapter markers. I've used "-", "&" and "," with no problem in the chapter names. Removing the markers or exporting without them did solve the problem but renaming them with just numbers 1,2,3....5, did not solve the problem and since this problem seems to happen with with iMovie as well, it would suggest the problem is in the video or audio and in combination with the chapter markers iDVD just can't handle it. The only other possibility is that both iMovie and FCE share the same or similar chapter marker code that some how is corrupting the markers.
    Summary - What to try
    1. Chapters
    • Only A to Z and 0 to 9 in chapter title
    • No Chapter mark at very beginning of movie
    • No Chapter mark in or within 2 seconds from any transition in movie
    2. TV-safe area for buttons (no one outside this)
    3. Safe re-boot
    4. No other external devices connected - that are not needed
    SDMacuser adds to this
    • On #4 ... No ext. devices. Some think this applies mainly to ext. FW. Not the case. Also applies to ext. USB2 as well (not to mention flash drives too).
Do not leave 3rd party devices / camera / camcorder plugged in unless it is being used with iDvd's One Step process. Certain web cams can trigger this also (especially ones with added features like LED light/s that draw additional power from the FW or USB bus).
    5. Minimum of 25Gb free space on Start-up hard disk
    6. Make a DiskImage first - reduces where problem originates
    7. Trash iDVD pref. file
    8. Make a new iDVD project
    9. Movies in project with same aspect ratio e.g. 4x3 or 16x9
    10. No other programs/applications running during iDVD process. e.g. Internet, screen & energy savers

Since it is reporting that "Vendor: TOSHIBA" I would venture to guess it is a bad DVD drive.
Is the system up and running? If so remove the disk from the drive and see if it stops. Replace the drive if it does.

  • Error: NDMP operation failed due to media error

I scheduled a RMAN backup job on oracle 11g EM and sometime it failed when running datafile backup.  The log showed the error come from media layer and did not specify detail message. We used secure backup to transfer data to tape. There are 4 tape drivers in service, but only one of them always return this error.  Could anyone tell how to resolve the problem ?

10:19:53 A_T:  writing marker label; here it is:

Judging by the transcript snips that you provided, I also believe that this is caused by a bad drive or bad media.
Start by looking at the output of the command :
      # obtool dumpdev <tape_drive_name>
(replace "<tape_drive_name>" by the name of the drive which was used during the failed job).
Look for any errors or warnings during the date/time the backup job failed. These message usually provide a good idea about the problem that occurred.
Next try the same backup using the same media in another drive to see it the problem reoccurs or not. In case the problem reoccurs, there's a good chance that the media is bad. If the backup succeeds on another drive, then try the same backup using the original drive but with a new media. If the backup fails again on the same drive using new media, you should open a support request with the tape drive vendor. In that case, collect the logs from the tape library (and dump the tape drives is possible).
    HTH,
    Gio

  • "Missing media" error trying to share new trailer

My daughter is using iMovie for the first time on a new Macbook Air running OS X Mavericks 10.9.1 and iMovie 10.0.1.  She imported the video clips from her iTouch to her iMovie library and used some of those to create a Trailer.  She used the default music from the trailer template and only the video clips she imported from the iTouch to the Air's local hard drive.  In "Library" view the trailer is visible and looks fine.
However, trying to share or export the movie in any form (Theater, Email, Quicktime) generates the following error message, "[TRAILER NAME]" has missing media.  If you click Continue, your project will be exported without these clips."  The one time I tried to export it looked like only the first video clip she used was converting - the entire rest of the trailer was gone...but it's still working in Library view.
I cannot figure out the source of this problem, nor can I discover the answer in the forums.  (I can't even see which media the app says are missing??)  I've seen advice on delete/reinstall but was concerned that the trailer might vanish if I exit the app.
Thanks in advance for any assistance on a fix.
    Thanks,
    Brian

Yes -- when I wrote "in library view" it referred to within the iMovie app, where you toggle between "Library" and "Theater".
OK, so I found the Movies folder and the iMovie library folder inside -- thank you.  The "original media" sub-folder seems to contain all 50-odd .mov files that were imported from the iTouch (though, curiously, about half show the deafult QT thumbnail icon - playing any of those replaces it with an image).
The folder also contains a subfolder with the name of her project; in that there is a single file called "CurrentVersion.imovieevent" that I assume is what the app is playing in the library/project view.  But no other clues as to why the Share contines to return the missing media error...
To make matters more complicated, she subsequently created a second Trailor and that all seems to be working perfectly.  I have no idea what's different about the newer project, but maybe just the first (and, imho, much better) trailor isn't going to work...beginner's (bad) luck?  :::sigh:::

  • Media Error when fast forwarding downloaded videos from Video Store

I can't fast forward videos I have purchased and downloaded from the Video Store.  I get the error message "Media error please try again." When I click OK the video closes. This is very frustrating since the video player does not recognize and remember where you left off when you restart it. For a 2 hour movie, I have to watch the whole thing again.  Is this a known issue or is there some issue with my PlayBook?   I have a 32 gig Playbook, brand new with OS 2.1.
    Any help would be appreciated.

This happens to me when a video is not properly downloaded. In effect, the file is not complete even though the download appears to have been successful and the file information shows that the full length is there. I check downloaded videos first by dragging the video slider button left to right and observing if the video moves forward. If the image freezes at a certain point, I know the video is incomplete. If I release the video slider button at that point, the player gives an error and closes. The only solution then is to get a complete downloaded file.
The only other easy check to see if you in fact have the entire video is to check the file size. If it is much less than the advertised size of file from the store, then the file definitely did not download completely.
    PlayBook 64GB and 32 GB
