Yes i've searched the forums for the answer to this but it couldnt find it
Thanks

From the Nomadness FAQs, linked from this board's FAQs, an item on connection problems that applies to your situation:
"In Device Manager with the Zen connected delete it from the device listing. Physically disconnect the Zen from the USB cable, reset it, then reconnect to the PC to see if it is detected properly."
If that doesn't work, read the FAQs and try the other things listed there and in the Nomadness FAQs.

The first time you try to open it, it could take a minute or so, but if you have waited 10 minutes and gotten nothing, then there is a problem.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application?

  • ZEN VISION M SERIES MEDIA EXPLORER NOT WORKING ON WINDOWS 7

Recently installed the much hyped windows 7. Installed my zen vision m. Everything is ok except media explorer is not working from the shortcut on the desktop or i can't find the exe in the creative folder file to get it started. All i get is "this filse does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.please install a program or,if one is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel "
i can access the music & picture files as a hard drive folder.
    Anyone any ideas?

My experience has been that the original software that came on CD with the Visionn M is not compatible with my new 64 bit Windows 7 OS but that the updated version availabloe for free download on the support site does work just fine. My remaining frustration (which appears unresolvable) is that unlike the original, the "new and improved" media explorer from the website?will only rip to WMA format and does not offer the MP3 option that was the core of the original program. I think this is incomprehensible and reprehensible for a device that is sold as an "MP3 player". I did not intentionally?buy an expensi've "WMA player" but thanks to Creative, I guess I ended up with one. I have bought literally a dozen Creative media players over the years for friends and family but this makes me so angry that I will never buy another.

  • Intro Media is not opening automatically even when on a new iPad

    Hi everyone,
I have looked throught the support community for iBooks Authour for this question. I did find similar questions but no answer.
    The problem:
We created an iBook with an intro media. There is no issue with the media. You can play it once you go to it. But we want the users to see the intro media as they first download the book. That doesn't happen. It seems that the ibook opens on the last page we have made changes to! This is understandable if we are choosing to "preview" on the same iPad but we tested a new iPad and it too didn't start on the intro media despite not being used to "preview" previously.
How can we check if the ibook will open to the Intro Media the first time users download the book?
    Thanks,
    Mojdeh

I got the iBooks to open and play the Intro. But I didn't do anything different. Here is what I did:
Cleaned the iPad from old versions. Saved the iBooks and then hit Preview. Nothing I hadn't done earlier but then this time I got it to work! Of course it didn't work for the next iPad!
I also tried to do your process but I am not sure I understand how to "drag that to iTunes". Do you mean iTunes on iPad?
Also, where do you set Auto-Play? Not in iBooks, right? I don't have this issue but thought I ask.
    Thanks much.

  • Micro media explorer not recognizing zen micro, organizer and Windows does.

I recently purchased a Micro 6, did all program installs. etc. and could never get it to work properly, exchanged it for another, had all the problems to get it recognized by Windows etc. and through this site, managed to get compatable with zen organizer and windows media player0, but the micro media explorer refuses to see it! I checked the registry and noticed that the two units are registered there (usb), could that be the problem, and if so ,how do I correct it's
It seems to me that I uninstalled the first unit, that this not clear the registry of it also?
    Thanks in advance.

I have KINDA the same problem. The Zen Media Explorer doesn't reconize my device and I don't know HOW to make lists etc in the MediaSource Organizer (is there any tutorial f?r it or something? i need lots of help there.. how to make lists and how to get em into the Zen).
I've had to copy / paste music to my zen manually.. which takes longer than necessary and I can't make fancy lists etc.. Help would be very appreciated :/
Oh, and I have version 2..02 if that makes any diffrence.
    Thanks.

  • Zen Micro Media Explorer not working

Recently I purchased a new PC. winxp. My zen worked just fine on my old PC. I installed my zen and the media explorer. When I launch the Zen Micro Media Explorer everything is grayed out. I cant click on anything. Windows media explorer shows my zen, but the Zen Micro Media Explorer is just all gray. I have FW version .3. I figued I would upgrade the FW and when I try upgading, it says the zen is not plugged in. I need to edit my playlists and I cant get into the media explorer. help!

I'm having exactly the same problem with my Creative Zen Touch 40 gB - a couple of months ago I had to re-instal windows and manage to re-install MediaSource and all the Audigy and Creative Zen drivers and they all worked together nicely. I've now upgraded the motherboard and processor, re-installed windows and cannot get mediasource to see my device. I've tried intslling the plays-for-sure software suite and it says it can't see my device and to check that the firmware is updated to PFS devices, which it is. I've tried the updated drivers, updated mediasource, uninstalled the device and re-installed it and nothing works. I'm running Windows XP Professional which has been updated with all the critical updates and also runs Media PLayer .
I know this doesn't help the previous poster, but if anyone else can help, that'd be fab.

  • Media Explorer not finding correct location

Hi, recently i bought a external HDD, i have moved all of my music onto this so it doesnt sit on my computer. To reach this dri've i have it mapped to my network and access it through "network places".
However when i open the media explorer and try "add media" i can't add my music as it doesnt allow you to select "my network places" as a drop down option.
could someone suggest how i would go about doing this? so that i can select the music off my network and put it on my zen
    Thanks in advance

ahhh, that would be it. for some reason before when i mapped it it went through to my network places, so i went through to the external hard dri've as part of the network then mapped it, thank you works perfect now.
think i it was just me being stupid but thanks again

  • Zen V Plus - Media Explorer not detecti

Hi, I'm not sure if this has been posted somewhere along the lines. If it has sorry.
Anyway, my problem is I have my V plus attached to my PC I have it turned on and it says it's docked.
But my Media Explorer and other various Media Sync programs won't detect it.
It shows up in My Computer as a Portable Device but that doesn't really help me that much.
I can transfer files onto it the old fashioned way of dragging and dropping but i'd really like the convenience of the Media Explorer.
If anyone could provide me with a solution to this I would be quite greatful.Message Edited by Konis on 04-6-200702:24 PM

  • Zen Micro Media Explorer Not Detect

I just downloaded the new ZM FW the other day. I just noticed today that my Zen Micro Media Explorer doesn't detect my device. Any ideas?

No, it's not that version as such.
As mentioned you need to go to the download page (Nomadworld.com downloads). Select the Zen Micro. On the resulting list of files the one I mentioned should be listed. This is what you need to download as it has specific MTP support.

  • Zen Micro Media Explorer not sorting alphabetica

I just had this problem ever since I installed the 2.20.05 firmware. I backed up all my music in a folder, I chose detailed view and usually when I click on those buttons on top that says Artist, Size, Name, etc. They arrange it from A-Z or Z-A. Zen Micro Media Explorer didn't do this for me, I clicked on Arist and everything gets mixed up. Also I have lost my Genre in all of my music during the process of backing up. It made it harder for me to sort my music back together.
And the weirdest thing is that Creative Mediasource properly sorted my music from A-Z just like how it looks like under Windows Explorer. But under the Zen Micro Media Explorer, it still doesn't display correctly.
Any reasons why this is happening?

^^ I also have the same issue, but only with one of my two microphotos. I first noticed it when I was trying to update my firmware. My first player worked perfectly, the second one always tells me that my player is disconnected (yes i've jiggled the cables and such). It then tells me that my player is not compatible with creative media explorer. Trouble is both players had the same firmware as i bought them at the same time, but one doesn't work while the other does.

  • Link List Explorer NOT Opening In A New Window

    Hi All,
I am trying to force my KM linklist links to open in a new window and this is proving to be a hard feat!
I have navigated to System Admin --> System Config --> Knowledge Management --> Content Management --> Configuration --> Content Management --> User Interface --> Settings --> Resource Renderer Settings --> Link List Resource Renderer.
Within this area, I have changed the Target Window Type to "blank" and "fixed" amongst other options but it is not opening the new links in a blank window.
Instead, it opens the KM folder in a new window and when I click on a link within that folder, it opens in a new portal window complete with Portal framework.
All I want is for my links to open in a new blank window with no Portal framework.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Bim.

  • Media Explorer not recognizing Ze

I just recieved this Zen V as a gift and I installed it onto my computer but I recently had to restart the whole system so there isn't anything on it so I figured that I would install it onto my boyfriend's computer or the computer that is at my house (mine is at my Grandmother's). However, on the two later computers, Media Explorer doesn't recognize that it's plugged in so I cannot do anything for my Zen V. Any advice?

  • Internet Explorer not opening?

    To reset internet explorer 8....
    1. Go to START
    2. In the search bar, type INETCPL.CPL
    3. On the advanced tab, on the bottom, there is a 'reset' button. Click there.
This will reset IE to factory settings and it will now work.

Tell us what they say. Thankfully, we're able to solve it by resetting IE, and it's not happening on all machines. It seems most prevaliant on IE8 with Windows 7 64-bit (in otherwords, newer machines).
Unfortunately, if you have this problem, you can't view this post unless you have an alternate browser (Firefox, Chrome), which makes it rather pointless to post - but hopefully, word will spread. Lots of lurkers here.

  • File Explorer not opening

Receive this error when opening explorer in SharePoint 2013 library:
We're having a problem opening this location in File Explorer. Add this web site to your Trusted Sites list and try again.
This error happens on the Windows 8.1 client and Windows Server 2012 R2.
Using Windows 8.1 with all updates
Tried IE 11 64bit and 32 bit same result
Server is 2012 R2 datacenter with all updates
SharePoint 2013 foundation with SQL express (out of the box setup)
Web client installed and running on both Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 R2
Added the site to both server and client in the trusted site area of IE
I did installed the desktop experience on the server 2012 R2 and rebooted. I then checked to see if the webclient service was started and it was. However, I still get the same error from any Windows 8.1 box I use.
Loaded up a fresh copy of Windows 8.1 and still received the same error. Tried again from the SharePoint 2013 Foundation server and still received the same error: We're having a problem opening this location in File Explorer. Add this web site to your Trusted
    Sites list and try again
Please help with any other ideas.

    OK Everyone,
Here is the answer I came up with and it worked on the client and server both. Procedures for Office 2013 are also in there.
I don’t think “Explorer View” will work until you edit your registry to support non-ssl websites.  Not only did MS lock down Office Products, I believe it locked down the
WEBDAV protocol, which is used for “Explorer View”.
There are two configurations you must make.
The first step will fix the Explorer View
The Second step (install SharePoint Designer first) will Fix Designer.
Step 1: Configure WebDAV Redirector on the client
To enable Basic authentication on the client computer, follow these steps:
In Windows Vista or Windows 7, click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press Enter.
In Windows 8, hold the Windows key (WINKEY) + F, highlight Apps in the Menu bar, type regedit in the Search box, and then press Enter.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type BasicAuthLevel, and then press Enter.
Right-click BasicAuthLevel, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 2, and then click OK.
Note The mapping is as follows:
    0 - Basic authentication disabled
1 - Basic authentication enabled for SSL connections only
2 - Basic authentication enabled for SSL and non-SSL connections
Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.
Step 2: Update the Registry on the client
Note This step is required for Office 2013 and Office 2010 applications.
On the client computer, add the BasicAuthLevel registry key and an appropriate value. To do this, follow these steps.
Important Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur.
    Start Registry Editor.
In Windows 8, hold the Windows key (WINKEY) + F, highlight Apps in the Menu bar, type regedit in the Search box, and then press Enter. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation,
type the password, or provide confirmation.
In Windows 7 or in Windows Vista, click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, then press Enter. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.
In Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
Locate and then click one of the following registry subkeys:
    For Office 2010
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\Internet
    For Office 2013
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Internet
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type BasicAuthLevel, and then press Enter.
Right-click BasicAuthLevel, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 2, and then click OK.
Note The mapping is as follows:
    0 - Basic authentication disabled
1 - Basic authentication enabled for SSL connections only
2 - Basic authentication enabled for SSL and for non-SSL connections
Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.
