Media exported M4p  from a CS5 HDV 11 MINUTE project

Hi and thanks again for your help:
I exported a 4 gb HDV CS5 video & audio project to Media/h.264, hdtv 1080p 29.97 hi quality -
expecting an fully realized MP4 with video and audio - when the Export/media window opened
the output shows up as ntsc, 1920 x 1080, 29.97 fps, deinterlaced, aac, 16y0 kpbs , 48 khz stereo, vbr 1 pass, target 32.00, max 40.00 Mbps
i told it to export VIDEO & AUDIO....
HELP - there is audio, but's its separate from the 'video M4P file'.  Is this normal?  If not, what settings have i screwed up?
BTW, is an M4p file the same as an MP4?
I tried to play it back thru VLC player, but it doesn't play the Video, just the audio - says it doesn't 'see' a duration for the video, so it apparently won't import for viewing.  The audio plays back fine.
Any suggestions

No need to set it in huge fonts. We can read. And dont double post (in other threads)
m4p is audio. Export probably got corrupt.
Did you check the Multiplexer, set to mp4?
Try again and start with a small section of the timeline.

  • Media export presets from CC to CC2014

Has anyone had success transferring their Media Custom export Presets from CC to CC2014?
    Allegedly these are epr files.
Preset Import function in standalone Adobe Media Encoder does not know where to start  looking or even give a clue...so I Explorer searched the C: drive ....and found 10,151   ".eps" files spread everywhere. !!!
Surely there is a path to ones Custom .eprs?
    Anyone able to advise please?

Here is the go guys...easy once one knows.
In My Documents I created a folder 'Shooter Custom Export Presets'
I opened AME standalone CC vers. and found the Custom Presets in the right hand panel.
I selected them all and right clicked. Export Presets to the folder of choice.
Opened AME CC2014 and imported them.
    Worked fine.
Note: the menu bar in AME standalone has import facility as well. Not sure why if it does noy know where to find them.... so its easier to work in that right hand panel after going thru the process I described above.

  • Some footage exports jittery from Premiere CS5

This is an issue I'm getting rather inconsistently. I will export series of videos and there are times that just one of them the footage just goes nuts on. I can't really find a rhyme or reason, as I export them all with the same settings in a series. I've tried re exporting, making export adjustments, and restarting both the program and my computer, but the same episodes end up the same way, and the source footage is from the same batch as the rest. Before I thought maybe I had to many adjustments going on in one episode, but this is not happening in basic stuff I do quite often, I can't figure it out at all.
Heres a sample of whats going on.

  • Export stills from cs3? hdv

    Hello,
I am just exporting a couple of frames from the timeline.
    The source footage is HDV 1440 x 1080 (1.333)
I'm sure I am being really stupid but why is the (default) bitmap image a wee bit squished? ie it doesn't look 16:9 anymore or normal.
I have played with all the export settings (DV widescreen, HD anamorphic)and they seem to all alter the image, but none of them just give me the same image as in the project monitor.
Can you help please? I'm sure this must be an easy one?
    many thanks
    scott

Where/how are you viewing the exported frame?
ie. The Source Monitor or the Program Monitor or elsewhere?
It should be exactly the same in the Program monitor becasue it is easy to export a frame and then cut it directly back into the timeline. eg a freeze frame.

  • Export m4v from Premiere CS5 on mac

    Hi,
I am trying to output a .m4v (one single file that has video and audio together) from Premiere Pro CS5 on mac.
    Settings I have tired are:
    h.264
    h.264-bluray
    Apple TV
The file will be used on iphone and ipad devices; however, Premiere can only output the file in two tracks (audio and video seperately).
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++
    Method I also tried is:
    Export my video to .mov
Open .mov at Quick Time Pro
Use Quick Time Pro Save As - Apple TV format.
However, it only provide as large as 960x480 size.
I need a Setting to control my video dimension as well.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++
    Anyone can help?
    -thanks ahead,
    sl

MP4 is the correct container for a file that contains video and audio, yes.
I should clarify that the use of "MP4" vs "M4V" is nearly only a semantics issue.  I only brought it up to clarify your question.  You could just as easily substitute something nonsensical, like "ZZZ" and it wouldn't change the content of the file, though it might cause some applications trouble recognizing the file.
    > why is it that I can use Quicktime Pro (Save As > Apple TV format) to render my .mov to .m4v  that contain the audio?
See my comment above about semantics for the real reason.  However, the QuickTime application plays fast and loose with a lot of rules.  I would never hold it up as an example of what other video applications should or shouldn't do.
Here are Apple's specification pages for iPad, iPad 2, and some models of iPhones.  You can see here that H.264 video is accepted in M4V, MP4, and MOV containers.

  • Export MPEG2 from Final Cut, HDV  for use it on PC platform

My client needs to upload the videos in a PC network, he asked me to deliver the final videos on MPEG 2. I have tried to export by using compressor but the clips come out without sound. How can I have the videos with sound and in MPEG 2?
Or is there any other format that I can export on, so the videos can run on a PC? I tried WMP from Quicktime but it only exports up to 30 seconds. Do I have to buy a Flip4mac to be able to export a longer file ? and if so which version of Flip4mac is advisable?
    Please help me. Thanks.

I noted that by doing WMP videos the files are way smaller in size, which is very good for me because I have to FTP 20 videos of 2 min. each to my client. Is WMP the same quality or equivalent to MPEG 2?
I assume you mean WMV files?
Yes, WMVs can be superior to MPEG2 files, but it's all about the choices you make when you encode encoding them. It's also possible to get very acceptable WMVs at very small file sizes, again depending on your content and your encoding expertise.
Flip4Mac's documentation will take you through the steps and the choices. Pay attention to the details and test, test test.
I've found that Windows users are always happier with WMVs, as there are never any compatibility issues - and the last thing I need when the deadline is getting closer is troubleshooting my client's windows installations.
    Best of luck.

  • Issues exporting gradients from Illustrator CS5 files to EPS 8

Hello everyone, I'm having problems exporting illustrator files to EPS, mainly with gradients that aren't rendering properly. These fills are appearing as small sliced objects rather than complete shapes. Any advice?
    Thanks!

Illustrator 8 is over a decade old. I expect that Adobe has significantly changed the way gradients are saved in Illustrator files since version 8. So, in order to preserve the appearance of the gradient Illustrator just expands it, rather than continuing to support a legacy format that’s so old. This is unfortunate but understandable.
Perhaps there are other options. Why are you saving as an Illustrator 8 EPS file? Surely you are not sending the file to someone who has no more recent version than 8? If the file is not meant for use exclusively with Adobe Illustrator 8 then it will be converted to some other format when the person you are sending it to opens it. When that happens, expect the gradient to be converted anyway.
My point is I doubt this Illustrator 8 EPS file will need to be edited, so it doesn’t matter that the gradient is expanded.

  • Exporting .avi from FCP 3 / Opening FCP3 project in FCP 4

    Hello,
I am currently working on a project in FCP 3. I need to export an .avi-file for use in Adobe Encore on a pc. I have done this before and used the DVpal codec which worked ok, but with this project the image quality is not ok, mostly there seem to be small jumps in a sequence (is on the verge of not running smoothly.. sorry, hard to describe).
I tried all the other codecs I have (BMP, Cinepak, DVCPRO-PAL, DVCPRO50 and no compressor) and all either gave inacceptable image quality or the film does not run smoothly, or took several hours for rendering a 3 minute film.
Can anyone recommend a codec that gives decent image quality and does not take hours for rendering (I am working on a G3 900Mhz ibook). Is there maybe an mpeg2 codec I could use so that I could avoid recompressing in Encore?
I also tried importing the project into FCP 4 on a G4 1.5 Ghz Powerbook but cannot open the file. Is there any way to convert the project to FCP 4? I read about using the XML export for transferring from FCP 4 to 5 or vice versa, but FCP 3 does not have the XML option.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    ibook G3, 900 Mhz, 640mb ram   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I don't know better than you, Randy, but I do have strong opinions.
OS X does tend to avoid file fragmentation, but that can only do so much, depending on how full the volume is and how much file deletion has taken place.
If the volume is very full, and you can't delete enough data to trim it down, the best thing to do is move/copy all the data to another volume, wipe the 1st volume, then move/copy all the data back. This is usually faster than using a defrag utility.
For best performance, keep your volumes less than 60% full. But I know guys who regularly run at 90 and 95% full without issue. So, go figure. And I know that conventional wisdom says to try to keep volumes less than 80% full. The thing is, when you benchmark a volume with a utility that measures throughput on the outer, inner, and middle tracks separately, you find that most hard drives will slow down when more than 60% full. NOTE: Not slow down terminally, but slow down by 10 to 20 percent or so.*
But the real answer to the defrag question is, don't worry about it . . . as Randy said.
    * If you do the math, you'll find that the read/write heads are exposed to about 1/2 of the surface area on the inner tracks as on the outer tracks in a given amount of time. FWIW.

  • CS5: Bug when exporting directly from PPro with hardware MPE?

    For the record, I'm using:
    A GTX-480 (unsupported)
    The hardware MPE-enabling hack (unsupported)
The latest version of the nVidia drivers (257.whatever)
I discovered an issue, of sorts, when exporting directly from Premiere CS5, versus using the "Queue" option to send to AME. I was exporting from an NTSC DV Standard sequence to a 320x240 H.264, in which I had enable cropping and trimmed a bit off the sides and top and bottom of the source; the Output tab was summarily set to "Scale to Fit". With hardware MPE enabled in the Project Settings, the export would be the proper final dimensions (320x240), but any area that was cropped off was instead padded with black. The actual video content was then squeezed and malformed into the area not occupied by the black bars.
I found that, if I disabled hardware MPE or sent the export through AME by use of the Queue button (instead of Export), then the export was performed properly--the video was cropped correctly and then the video stretched to the borders of the exported video, maintaining the desired aspect ratio.
As I mentioned at the outset, I'm breaking a couple rules and perhaps tempting fate with others, but before I go about rolling back my drivers and the like, has anyone noticed a similar issue?
ADDENDUM: By the way, the export doesn't need to come from a sequence. If I load up a source clip into the Source Monitor, and export from there using the process outlined above, I get the same issue. This would seem to indicate, to me, that this is due to some incompatibility with my card, its driver and hardware MPE...

Did he demo renders or exports?
About 11 minutes in, he [Dave] demos accelerated H.264 renders.
    Harm Millaard wrote:
AFAIK MPE only works with renders, not with encoding.
Well, he did both, actually--but the quote above is a typo on my part. I meant to say "exports" or "encodes." The last couple minutes of the aforementioned demo video are dedicated to exporting a sequence directly from Premiere, and having the benefit of hardware MPE. That's where I'm getting the issue I've outlined above; with hardware MPE enabled, and using the "Export" versus AME "Queue" button/function, I get the strange black outline. With software MPE or through AME, all is well.

  • Exporting from Premiere CS5

I need some help exporting video files, I know nothing.
I'm using Premiere CS5. I import a 31.5mb (1:35s length) .mov, chop the first 12 seconds, add a Dip to Black on the beginning and end. Then I choose File/Export/Media, choose QuickTime, uncheck the "Export Audio" (I do not want the sound) then click "Export." I end up with a 300mb file. I don't understand why the file is 10x larger than what I started with???
Ultimately, I need to create a video file that will be linked from a PowerPoint presentation.
Any other advice for exporting video from Premiere CS5 would be greatly appreciated! Like what's the best for web?

  • Problem with exported jpegs from CS5 PSDs with transparent backgrounds

I've detected an issue where when exporting jpegs from a CS5 PSD layered file with a transparent background, the jpegs don't have a pure white background (255, 255, 255). They seem to range from 250, 250, 250 to 253, 253, 253.
LR3 with same export settings does not show this behavior--it's pure white: 255, 255, 255.

    Bill,
Another very helpful solution and I appreciate knowing how to fix it in both applications. Thanks!

  • Problem with Exporting from Bridge CS5 to Social Media sites

    Hi Adobe users,
I'm a new French user of CS5 Bridge. My question is :
Is it possible for me to export pictures from Bridge to Social Media Sites like Facebook & Flickr ?
This topic (http://www.tipsquirrel.com/exporting-from-bridge-cs5-to-social-media-sites/) introduce me to exporting files but I haven't got the modules who were necessary for exporting. After, I do a Check For Update, without results. So I have another question :
What are the steps in order to have the necessary modules ?
    Thanks Julien BARREAU
    Sorry for my bad english.

You can't. The export module (btw gone in Bridge CC) has never worked properly for all social media. The reason they gave was due to rights management in different countries. It only worked in a few countries for Facebook.

  • Long load times normal for Adobe Media Encoder from Premiere CS5?

When I export a sequence from Adobe Premiere CS5 using Adobe Media Encoder, the system freezes for several minutes before giving me the exporter screen.  Then, when I've loaded my settings and clicked "export," the system again freezes for several minutes before beginning to encode.    I'm using a system with an Intel I7 CPU 930 @ 2.80Ghz 2.80 Ghz., 24 GB of ram, Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit operating system and an Nvidia quadro FX4800 graphics card..  Everything else is fast, but AME is slow.  Is this normal? Should I reinstall AME?

Not sure what you mean about the process.  From Premiere CS5, I click on "export" which brings up a menu. I select "media" from the menu which brings up the Adobe Media Encoder.  I adjust my settings and click "export" from the bottom of the screen to immediately render the Premiere file.  Clicking "Queue" would put the program into the AME Queue.  Am I missing something?  On the slowness issue, looks like I need to reinstall AME. I've been reluctant to do that, partially because I'm using some Matrox hardware and I'll have to reinstall the Matrox softare to populate the matrox settings into the media encoder. Looks like it may be worth it.
    Thanks.
