Media Gallery Journal Metadata

How trying to figure out how to control what metadata is displayed in the journal filmstrip gallery. I don't want all the exif stuff I just want the title and description of each slide.
please...

If I read this correctly you can choose what metadata you want from Edit>Preferences>Metadata. Then put check mark on data you want displayed.

  • Bridge CS3 Adobe Media Gallery

    Hello:
When I upload a folder of images using Adobe Media Gallery not all of the images appear in the main window, even though the thumbnails show. For example, if I upload 200 images, image #180 is just blank, even though the associated thumbnail appears on the list of images. I'm using the template "left filmstrip", but the same problem happens with other templates. Also, sometime the opposite happens, namely the thumbnail doesn't show but when I click on the blank space where the thumbnail should be the large image appears in the main window. I'm using CS3, Bridge 2.1.1.9 on a Mac OS 10.5.8.
I've tried re-installing Photoshop without success.
    Thanks for your help.

    Ramón,
That looks more like an issue of uploading rather than the initial creation of the gallery. In AMG when you select more than ten images, you only get ten in the preview. Additionally, I had no success uploading to my server from AMG; I had to use Fetch. The link below will take you to my initial attempt.
    Thanks for keeping me posted.

  • CS3 Bridge crashes when uploading an Adobe Media Gallery

Each time I try to upload an Adobe Media Gallery directly from Bridge, the program crashes, without uploading anything. My FTP info is correct. Ive tried restarting my computer as well as trying out different FTP's to make sure that isn't the problem.
I can create galleries and save them to my computer, but I'd much rather upload them directly from Bridge.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

I tried holding the ctrl buttom, the preferences reset, or any other window, would not launch. i tried the cnrl/shift/alt buttons, this did not work. i tried launching from quick start button, from the explorer exe, and still not able to get this to work. i even tried a few weeks back to uninstall and reinstall, but did not seem to work, i gave up until need it open now...
are there any other tricks anyone has had luck with to get the preferences window to work?

  • How can I get Adobe Media Gallery for Bridge CS3

I want to create an online photo gallery for 3rd party client proofing. I am using a reference book byScott Kelby (the editor of 'Photshop User' magazine) and he refers to Adobe Media Gallery: ( Bridge CS3 / Windows / Workspace / Adobe Media Gallery).
He states that although AMG wasn't initially shipped with CS3, Adobe released a free update for bridge and once installed it is possible to download AMG from labs.adobe.com.
I am unable to find any reference to AMG or any download/upgrades

    Good day Geoff,
You can download the Adobe Reader 10.0.0 installer .EXE file from here:
    ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.0.0/en_US/AdbeRdr1000_en_US.exe
Once you've downloaded it, you can burn it to a disc or copy it to a thumbdrive to bring to the PC that's offline.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
    Kind regards,
    David

  • Media LIbrary's metadata in 2 (or more) languages ?

Hi, I'm using the Media Library, and I set the WD TV's interface in english, to have the Media Lib gather metadata about movies in english, since I watch mostly movies in this language. But I also have some french movies in french, and since my main language setting is english, the metadata for these french movies is fetched in english too... that's especially annoying for the titles, that are completely different in english that the original french titles ! So my question is : if I temporarily switch the main language to french before fetching metadata for a french movie, will it work the way I'd like it to ? Or will it re-fetch data in french for my whole Media Lib ?  I didn't dare to test it yet

    Hi,
    I haven't try that before.
Let's see if any of the users can share some info about this.

  • Bridge cs5 photo gallery - journal + Slideshow problems, incorporating a gallery into my site?

When i'm trying to make a journal+slideshow photo gallery, i get all  this unnecesary information from my metadata. ( Date last modified :  ...., software: ....., X resolution, Y Resolution, image size,  resolution unit..) Is there a way to make that go away so i can see just  my description and author, what i want to see?
And can i  incorporate a gallery made with bridge/other flash gallery into an already existing HTML  page, so that you have my template's design with that in the middle(the  contents/editable part for me)?  Or does it need to be a whole new html  page, i'm using dreamweaver.
Picture of uneccesary info, can it go away?

I found out putting it in dreamweaver is pretty easy, just use iframe and make the width/height however you want it and it works fine for me. ( From the adobe web gallery in bridge>use the whole folder's index.html(can change name) as source for iframe, and you have the gallery, you need to move the whole folder to the site root though if you want it there, not just the .html )
I just want that excessive stupid information to go away, but i can't figure out how >->

  • Change the fonts in Web Gallery/Journal?

Is it possible to change the font in a web gallery or web journal and if so, how?
I cannot find anything in the documentation, but find it unbelievable that this would not be possible in Aperture.
    Sol

no, i cant figure out search either ...
what you need to edit is under ...
/Applications/Aperture/Contents/Resources/WebThemes/ (right click on Aperture - Show Package Contents)
pick the theme you want to edit ... choose the language then under assets is the css folder ...
i believe that the global.css holds the text family ...
if you arent familiar with css google "w3c schools css" ...
you will want to edit the font-familty attribute with whatever font you want ...
i recommend doing this to a copy of the webthem folder ... and rename it something ...

  • Broken character encoding in Web Gallery / Journal

    Hi,
Is there another place to submit bugs to Apple than posting here?
I noticed that the web gallery and journals are exported with HTML indicating iso-8859-1 encoding, but the characters are actually encoded with "MacRoman" (which isn't supported in most browsers and doesn't have a standard encoding name).
    I put an example here:
    http://tmp.askask.com/2005/12/aperture_bug/
(See the ø in my name be messed up on the bottom line).
Speaking of character sets; it really should export UTF-8 rather than iso-8859-1. (But anything else than MacRoman would be an improvement!)

Quad PowerMac   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

After i read elsewhere in this forum that you can "hack" the HTML Templates I thought I give it a try and change the encoding settings.
So I went to Apperture.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/WebThemes/ and went into the Directory of the Theme I used, Pictures. I opened detail.html, gallery.html, journal-gallery.html and journal.html with BBEdit (I think TextEdit is just fine, too) and changed the charset to macintosh as this seems to be the official name of the MacRoman encoding as stated here: http://www.iana.org/assignments/character-sets
I saved everything (you might make a backup of the original files first) and opened Aperture, exported my Web-Journal to a shared folder with my wife's PC and made some tests.
The encoding was recognized perfectly and automatically by Firefox (PC, 1.0.7), InternetExplorer (PC, 6.0) and of course Safari and Firefox on the Mac.
So it seems I can work around my second "favorite" bug in Aperture...
(My "favorite" is that I lost some projects when naming them with äöü's, it's soooo good to have a backup at hand)

  • Gallery: read Metadata tags

    Hello,
LR-WEB-Gallery provides options to read metadata tags and insert them into WEB-pages by means of this code:
    ["perImageSetting.keywords"] = {
      enabled = true,
      value = "{{com.adobe.keywords}}",
      title = LOC "$$$/WPG/HTML/CSS/properties/ImageKeywords=Keywords",
and then using the selector and the template text editor in the WEB-UI.
This method is a bit cumbersome.
On the other hand some tags can be inserted directly into the details.html like so:
    <p>$image.metadata.keywords</p>
I prefer this method as it allows to place the desired tags indivdually on the grid.html or details.html.
I am now curious to learn about a list of the tags that can be read that way because I found that many very common tags are not read that way.
A list of tags is in the SDK 3.0 but I can't get it to work for most of the tags (not all).
The values for all these tags are in database (Library Module) and the data has been saved to xmp-sidecar files.
Still, the data is not read and results as 'nil'.
Hopefully this is only a syntax issue only.
Below some examples of common tags not being read:
    $image.metadata.title
    $image.metadata.copyright
    $image.metadata.location
    $image.metadata.isoCountryCode
    $image.metadata.city
    $image.metadata.state
    $image.metadata.country
    ...results
    Location:nil
    ISO Country Code:nil
    City:nil
    Thanks for replies.

    Hi,
I'm referring to the "TAGS" field.
I know they appear, but do they serve any purpose beyond simply appearing there? It seems redundant with the DESCRIPTION field. We were told the TAGS field would server some other, more sophisticated purpose, and I wanted to know if that purpose had ever been implemented. Our editorial team doesn't see any value in creating the content for the TAGS field if all it does is display in the browse mode. And I tend to agree. The TAGS field is not searchable as far as I know, or is it???
    Kindest regards,
    Brad

  • PDF/multi-media database with metadata export capabilities

i need to organize some pdfs and other file types in a database.
i would like to do this in something that may let me /edit/ metadata but also in a way that lets me /export/ the pdf or other files so that the file that gets exported retains the metadata.
right now i am considering Papers and FileMaker but i have also researched some of the Devon products.I am also wondering if something like Adobe Bridge might be good for this.
can anyone offer any advice or leads on this?
    THANKS

I have a similar problem.  I've narrowed down my specific issue to the unicode character U+1D70E (MATHEMATICAL ITALIC SMALL SIGMA).  The issue occurs when the keynote file contains:
A text field containing the character... except when the this character is the first character in the text field
An embedded PDF object containing this character (e.g., as generated by LaTeX's \sigma)
My workaround has been to use unicode U+03C3 (GREEK SMALL LETTER SIGMA) instead, where possible.

  • Auto Size issue with Media Gallery .AS files

First off, thanks for taking a look!
I came across this Adobe devnet article the other day while
looking for info on creating Flash web based image galleries
    here.
In summary, it's an introduction on modifying the .XML files to
personalize your galleries created with Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.
Also in this article, there is a link to download source files
including gallery templates and a working .FLA file, which is
really the point of my post.
So. I've gone through the .AS, Javascript, and .XML files
looking for variables and parameters for controlling the
stage/auto/scale of the clip. I've read through each several times
making adjustments here and there and I've been able to change most
of what I want, but for the life of me I can not seem to get
control over the scaling of the clip when the user resizes the
browser. I have been able to load the clip at a set width and
height, with a minimum width and height, but again once the user
pulls the browser out, the entire screen scales with it.
My ideal goal is to embed a modified version of the .SWF with
set dimensions into a parent .SWF. On first load everything looks
great for about half a second - until the .AS files are loaded. At
this point the size of the gallery .SWF expands to fill the width
of the host browser. Actually, it expands beyond the browser frame
but that's neither here nor there. I'll admit the amount of code is
beyond me, but I can usually pick things apart enough to butcher it
to into what I need ;P If that can't happen, then I'm perfectly
happy to stick with the HTML gallery so it's no big deal really.
I'm just curious to know if any of you have experience with this
particular file and might suggest a direction?
I'll keep digging around, but at the moment I think i've
found about all I can translate or I'm missing something horribly
obvious. If you've played with this file, I would love some
insight. If not, and you're looking for a starting point for a
flash photo gallery, then take a look at the article. The
supporting files seem a bit heavy, but maybe that's just me. =]
    Thanks again!

For single sign on using NTLM on a webVPN set up, you need to ensure you configure it through the command line. Did you use the ASDM for this single sign on? To configure auto-signon for all WebVPN users to servers with IP addresses ranging from
10.1.1.0 to 10.1.1.255 using NTLM authentication, for example, enter the following
    commands:
    hostname(config)# webvpn
    hostname(config-webvpn)# auto-signon allow ip 10.1.1.1 255.255.255.0 auth-type ntlm

  • TIP: Create your own Web Gallery / Journal Themes!

I didn't see a "proper" way to do this documented in the manual, but hopefully Apple will add that in a future version.
Until then you can "hack" it in.
Control-click the Aperture application, choose "Show Package Contents".
    Click "Contents" -> "Resources" -> "English.lproj" -> "WebThemes"
Copy one of the folders there to another name (say "My Theme"), go into the new directory and edit your custom theme.
