Media Importing with Ver 9 Pro Extended

I just made a PDF with an imported mov. file in Acrobat Pro Extended, can someone tell me if the trail version (this is what I have currently installed) lets you view the imported movie on an other machines. I've tried it on my Mac Leopard and Tiger OS with pro 8 installed and on my Dell Laptop with reader 9 and flash 9 and still can't get the imported movie files to play.
I wanted to test drive the new product and see if this would be something I could use for easy distribution of media files for my people in the field.
Need some help...were am I going wrong?

If your media file is in MP4/h264 format it should be embeddable as is. Alternatively you could convert it to the compatible FLV format outside Acrobat. One popular tool is FFMpeg or you could use an online service (Zamzar, MediaConvert).

DirectionalLigh are not yet supported by the APEX VRML Importer. That's the reason why you could not get them.
We are working on improving this feature for a future version of APEX, but nothing has been scheduled yet and I am not able to provide you a date or version for the implementation of the fix.

No more swf import with Premiere Pro CC 7.1 ?

Hello,
After upgrading Premiere Pro CC to 7.1 I am not able to import swf files, and previous projet with swf files consider them as offline. Is it just a bug with my install or did this feature has been avoided ?

Thank you for your help and all your answers. It was very helpufull to import SWF directly inside Premiere Pro and to add other video elements around the SWF in the timeline. SWF is a small file, it is very fast to export SWF in Flash, and so to update and Premiere Pro timeline if we need some change in the SWF animation.
I am using this workflow for cartoon for children. My graphic designer for this cartoon is only able to use Flash, and it is a good way beacause we are also able to create a SWF export in an html page. Video Export in Flash is really bad, for example it is unable to export embeded clips so you have to only use graphic symbol and never clip symbols (but same problems if you import SWF in Premiere Pro or After Effects). Flash video export is also bad compared to presets used in Adobe Media Encoder Premiere Pro and After Effects.
So, because now Premiere Pro CC 7.1 is not able to import SWF, the best way to export SWF to video for me:
1. Import SWF in After Effects, create a composition
2. Export the composition with Adobe Media Encoder, for example H264 around 25Mb/s like AVCHD
3. Import these videos files in Premiere Pro and replace our SWF with the video files instead.

Using new Adove Media Encoder with Premiere pro cs4

I have Premiere Pro Cs4 and Design&Web premium CS6 - which comes with Adobe Media Encoder cs6. Can I get Premiere Pro CS4 to use the new encoder (and hopefully speed up)?

I am on Window 7 32-bit that Premiere CS6 does not work. So I use CS4 for editing. For one specific project, I kept getting errors when using AME CS4 and it was extremely slow (8min of video estimated 20 hours). Someone said CS4 4.2 is really slow so I'd like to use AME CS6 to render project files from CS4. Tried that but got adobe dynamic link components error. I think it may be because I didn't include Premiere and After Effects when installing CS6.
Do you have success using AME CS6 on CS4 project file? Is it likely to make it work without installing CS6 one more time?

Importing Media With Pro Extended 9

I have installed the Pro Extended on my PC (Trail version)
and have imported media (mov.) files successfully and can play the
media back on the Pro extended version on my PC however when I save
the file to my memory stick and test it on my lap top with win XP
and installed reader 9 the file will not play the imported media.
Is this a trail issue or am I missing something?

Acrobat 3D Toolkit missing in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended

Dear all,
I updated from Acrobat 8 to Acrobat 9 Pro Extended. Now I was looking for the Acrobat 3D Toolkit and couldn't find it.
Was it renamed into Adobe 3D Reviewer or is it just missing in the installation?

Actually, when you create an animation in 3D Reviewer you can only save it to PDF. The animation is saved as a JavaScript attached to the 3D annotation in PDF. It is not saved in U3D or PRC. To view your animation in PDF you need to use a PDF template. There is a default template that comes with the product locaded in the following folder: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\plug_ins3d\prc\ENU You should use one of the following templates depending if you rather use Acrobat to create a form template or LiveCycle Designer (also comes with Acrobat Pro Extended): - a3drtemplate_03.pdf: template created with Acrobat - a3drtemplate_lc_03.pdf: template created with LC Designer To save to PDF, you need to use the File>Export menu option, then click on the Options button (left corner), then choose PDF from the list of formats, and click on Options again to set the template to use. On the PDF Export Options dialog box, check the box 'Use Template' and select one of the default templates indicated above. Then at the bottom of the dialog box, check the box 'Include Animations' and click OK (twice) and Save. The PDF created will have the JavaScript to play the animation. If you want to take a look at the JavaScript, it is saved in your temp folder at the following location: C:\Documents and Settings\<userid>\Local Settings\Temp The JavaScript file will have the name of your model with a .jsX extension where X is a number. In 3D Reviewer, special views are created using the following tool: View>Configurations>Create Configuration If you use the Export to PDF option with a template, all the conigurations will come thru in the PDF. You can also save configurations to a PDF without using a template. They will come in as custom views in PDF. Hi there. I'm having the same issue, and it appears a few others in the forums are as well. The jist of it all seems to be that when you try to install presenter from acrobat extended, a message pops up saying that powerpoint is not installed. So like me you go to Adobe support, see that there is a download for MS office 2010 powerpoint, and download it. This is the kicker though, it seems that this is a stand alone version you have just downloaded requiring its own unique seriel number, (one you have to buy) and will not activate in combination with Acrobat Pro extended in any way shape or form.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, attempted to patch, but it will not allow me to, as presenter is not installed! Then I have tried to look at the presenter file within adobe folders, but alas its not there as I can't install it, I can't fiddlle or patch it in any way shape or form. This appears to be other peoples problem as well. Argghhhhhh!
I'm not sure of the work around for this is, hopefully they will sort it out soon, this programme is not cheap!!!!

Aspect ratio wrong when importing from QuickTime Pro

Movies shot with Cannon still camera came out sideways. I used QuickTime Pro used to rotate them. They then look fine. However, when I import them into iMovie HD6, they remain vertical but are flattened down. I am sure it's a settings thing but this recent PC convert needs help!

So you shot in "portrait" instead of landscape?
I hope these are 320X240 instead of 640X480 files.
Easiest fix it to create an all black image file and use it as a background in QuickTime Pro.
Make the image 640X480. Import with QT Pro.
Select all and Copy.
Switch to your 320X240 movie (now 240X320), select all and "Add to Selection & Scale (Edit menu).
Open Movie Properties window.
Highlight the video track and adjust its offset and dimensions. Set its track "layer number" lower than the image file layer number. Negative numbers can be used.
Once happy with the file export to DV Stream.
Use the .dv file in iMovie.

Adobe acrobat pro extended 9 language issues

Hi!
Is there any conflicts/obstacles that may arise using an English version of this software for documents or purposes in other languages or does it support other languages?
If not, is there any way that I can convert an English language version of Adobe Acrobat Pro extended 9 to Swedish language?
The reason I ask is that I'm considering buying a used copy of Acrobat pro extended 9, but before doing so I need to know if I would be better off buying a dedicated Swedish version of this software.

Adobe Presenter is bundled with Acrobat Pro

So am I to assume that the when I bought the Acrobat Pro
Extended Edition, I did not buy Adobe Presenter as well?
I called Adobe sales about my issues with unable to activate
Presenter and they forwarded me to Tech support who were clueless
as to why my serial number for Acrobat did not work for
Presenter.

Adobe Presenter is bundled with Acrobat Pro Extended . When
you install Acrobat Pro extended then install Adobe Presenter using
Menu item of Autoplay.exe .If you do that ,then you need not
activate it , it will automatically activate .
I believe you have installed Presenter directly (not via
Autoplay Menu ) and that is why it is prompting you for serial key
which is not same as Acrobat Serial key and therefore will not
accept it
I will advice you to uninstall Presenter and install it via
AutoPlay Menu . In that case it will not prompt you for serial key

Is LiveCycle only a part of Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro EXTENDED, or does it come with the pro version too?

Sorry, I know this is dated but my company doesnt offer Acrobat X (yet. It is currently pending approval from IT). Anyway, I am wondering if the Livecycle designer program comes with the Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional version or just the Extended which I cannot get? This is very important as I will be using it to create a form (literally just one form lol).

Problem with Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended version 9.3.4 reading Inventor 2009

I would like to be able to generate 3D PDF files from Autodesk Inventor CAD models (e.g. .iam files) using Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended. I am constrained to use Inventor 2009. When I originally installed Acrobat Pro Extended, I was able to make this work after installing the IMPORT3D update at:

Recently (9/5/2010), I updated Acrobat Pro Extended to version 9.3.4. I believe that following that update, I lost the ability to read in Inventor 2009 files. Acrobat Pro Extended now gives the error messages:
"Exception has been raised" followed by:
"Acrobat could not open 'file' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then print the document to Adobe PDF."
This is exactly what happened when I first installed Acrobat Pro extended and before I installed the IMPORT3D update mentioned above. I tried re-installing that update but now the installer gives the error message:
"No qualifying products found to apply this update."
Note that Inventor 2009 does allow one to "Save Copy As" to PDF format, but this just creates a 2D PDF snapshot of the current model view -- same for print to pdf.
I suppose one thing to try is removing Acrobat Pro Extended and then re-installing without the 9.3.4 update, but with the IMPORT3D update -- but if that is necessary, then I won't be able to take advantage of any further updates (e.g. security updates) to Acrobat, which seems like a bad situation.
Has anyone else had this problem? Or is it just me?

I may have figured out what was causing my problem with conversion of Inventor 2009 to 3D PDF. After playing around with a number of inventor files, I discovered that the conversion worked fine when there were no references to external files. For example a .ipt file (part file) seemed to convert fine. I believe the problem was that on the form one obtains with Edit->Preferences->Convert to PDF->Autodesk Inventor->Edit Settings->Import->Assembly, the check box for "use root file directory" was NOT checked. Oddly, this is the default and I'm pretty sure I tried setting the conversion options to the default. In any case, I now seem to be able to perform the conversion of Inventor 2009 to 3D PDF so this problem is solved I guess.
