Media key light

Is there any way to light the media key on a 5230 like on a 5800??

This is the first time I've seen that on these forums.
In any event, all you can do is take the phone in to your nearest Nokia Care Point. The 5800XM has been on the market for less than a year so, barring a warranty-voiding event, the repair should be covered by your warranty (24 months in the E.U. or 12 months elsewhere).

  • Media keys won't turn off when computer shuts down

I've been experiencing a problem with the media keys on my P305-S8834 laptop running vista 64.  The computer will shut down completely, but the media key lights remain on.  They will go off when I start and shut down the computer a couple of times.  This problem is recent.  Up to about two weeks ago the shutdown was normal.  Appreciate any help with this.

Media key problems like that are sometimes solved by resetting the motherboard.
With the battery and AC adapter removed, close the Power switch for 30 seconds.
Re-attach those, press the Power button to turn the computer on, and then immediately press the F2 key while the Toshiba logo is displayed. Press F9 to restore the BIOS default settings, press F10, and then select Yes (Exit Saving Changes). The computer will restart.

  • N95 media Keys not lighting up after v2 update

    Hi Folks
i just updated my phone last night to the latest firmware and what made me pleased the most was it sorted out the problems between the phone and my intergrated Bluetooth kit in my 2007 Ford Focus, nokia tried to blame ford even though its their module in the car!
anyway i have noticed that after this update when you move the slider to expose the media keys and turn the phone into a media player it doesnt automatically bring up the multimedia menu, great i thought! as the phone is in my pocket a lot it goes off whenever it gets slid down now it wont happen.
more worringley is that the media keys dont light up anymore! not when you move the slider or when you press them or open any program that uses them, its pretty annoying actually and they were working before the update, anyone had similar problems?

regarding the 8GB version, mine is silver but came with a 8GB memory card from o2 UK would that not make it the 8GB version?
No,i have exact same phone as you,N95-1 with 8gb memcard but the firmware is way behind.N95 8GB has V20.0.015 as standard fw
for lighta isue, check in tools, settings, general, personalisation,,display, and look where theslider is for the light sensor,,if its low tweak it up a bit...keypad lights only work when light sensor detects a little light,so at midday, lights wont light up anyway, dont need to..energy saving i guess...check these and get back to me m8

  • Qosmio X300 - Media keys and other lights stays on

    Hi there,
I'm running Vista Bus 64 bit. For some reason all of the media keys and other lights stays ON.
When i press one of the media keys, it fades out and a few seconds later they fades back in again.
I have tried re-installing Value Added Package, but it did not resolve anything.
    Can someone please help

You can manually turn them on and off by opening windows explorer and going to C:\Program Files\Toshiba\TBS and look for dimmer.exe when you click this it turns the lights on and off.
You could make a shortcut to this on your desktop if you cannot get proper functionality of the lights on/off button on the media key bar.

  • Media Keys

When I installed Windows 7 RC for the first time the media keys worked.
When I rebooted, they no longer work.
    How do I solve this?

Thank you guys for your help. However i have done both power down function and reinstalled the value added package. The media keys i'm talking about are on the left side of the keyboard under the power button. There is the Eco, Mute, movie, play/pause, reverse fast forward and fast forward and volume up and down. The power button lights up, the caps button lights up, the satellite word lights up on bottom left and above the touchpad and below the spacebar that lights up. I just can't use those keys. They use to work and I thought I had to do some checking in a box but I've gone throught the toshipa HS setup and my Bios is V3.10 11/30/09. I'm running windows 7 service pack 1 64 bit.
This has happend to me before when I had to do a sytem restore but I can't find or remember how to get them to work again. Also people have said use the function key and held down but I can't find anything that talkes about making those buttons work and light up.
    Thanks,
    Christopher

  • Satellite A350-20Q - Illumination media keys have gone dark

I bought a Satellite a350-20Q laptop about two weeks ago and the media keys above the keyboard have seemed to have gone darker than when i first had it.
I have checked using the HWSetup and it says they are definitely illuminated.
    Has anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks for the help but i think it is a different problem than the lighting being enabled or disabled, if i gently press down on the keys then they become brighter so I am guessing that either the lighting has physically fallen down or that the buttons themselves have physically moved upwards for some reason.
Thanks for the help but i think i will just go and get it fixed or replaced.

My battery life at a full 100% charge is about 2 hours 22 minutes (backlight and key lights at lowest level). Should I go complaining to Apple or do I just need different software? I've only had my mac book since August 2011. The battery dies in 2 to 3 hours with some web surfing (little video play) and photo editing etc. I really don't feel like taking my computer all the way to the apple store to wait there for 5 hours to hear that I need to call someone blah blah blah. Any advice? (BTW Safari hasn't been working since I last updated my mac, WHYYYY?)

  • Media Keys Not Working - Apple Wireless Keyboard - Snow Leopard 10.6

Hello, I am a new user to this Support Area and i tried calling but as its Christmas Day i cant get through because there closed so i decided to join here.
Ok basically my problem is that i have a iMac and i recently installed Snow Leopard and on Christmas Day i got a Wireless Apple Keyboard i set it up all went well and got through all the bluetooth process fine except when i went to try use the Media Keys which are Brightness Up/Down, Volume Control, Play/Pause/FastForward and the other two don't know what there called tho when i press any of them they dont work when i press F12 which has a picture of Volume Up it goes to my Widgets thing and when i press F11 which is Volume Down it moves all the current apps out of the desktop like a clearing space function.
I Really would like to have the Media Keys back to how there supposed to be i don't know why it is doing this but i think its Snow Leopard.I Have tried everything possible in System Prefs even removed the keyboard from the Bluetooth paired devices and re paired it but still nothing. It would be mostly appreciated if one you guys could help me soon..
    Thanks Sean

Wow! I am in the exact same situation. I don't think it is Snow Leopard tho b/c when I plug my old keyboard back in the media keys work fine. It might have to do with the apple aluminum keyboard 2.0 update but when I try to download that it says my system is unable to support it (eben tho it only requires at least 10.5.8).
If you find a solution let me know.

  • Media keys no longer work

    Description
My media keys used to work to play, pause, skip forward/backward, etc. in Spotify, and other applications when Spotify is running. Suddenly, my media keys have no effect.
A more detailed description, using numbered steps
    1. Open Spotify
    2. Start playing music
    3. Click my "Play/Pause" media key
    What I expected to happen
Music pauses, and resumes upon another click
    What actually happened
    Nothing
    My Operating System
    Windows 7 (64 bit) AND Windows 8.1 (64 bit)
Do you have a Service Pack installed?
Windows 7 is Service Pack 1, Windows 8.1 has no Service Pack
    My Spotify version
    0.9.10.14.g578d350b
    My internet provider and country
    Service Electric, USA
Did you do a clean install of your current Windows version or did you upgrade from a previous version?
    Clean installs on both
    My username
    snyderxc
Do you have any screenshots you can attach to more clearly explain your issue?
    No

I don't have google music neither, my problem started after the first time running Windows Media Player in Windows 8.1, and after that every time I press the media keys it opens WMP.
I already desactivated WMP from the control panel but it doesn't work the media keys for now...
Also I saw a video that in Win 7 they go to msconfig and unselect the service from there but I don't find it in Win 8.1
    Any other guess???

  • Media Keys Recognized Correctly Using Xev but pressing has no effect.

On g15 keyboard Xev maps the multimedia keys correctly
(KeyPress event, serial 35, synthetic NO, window 0x5600001,
        root 0x10c, subw 0x0, time 5432517, (160,-5), root:(1123,826),
        state 0x0, keycode 172 (keysym 0x1008ff14, XF86AudioPlay), same_screen YES,
        XKeysymToKeycode returns keycode: 162
        XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
        XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
        XFilterEvent returns: False
but Clementine doesn't react when the key is pressed.
I don't know what changes but rebooting can fixes / creates the problem randomly.

*vitali* wrote:I have kde 4.5.0 , and I am not messing with xev merely checking that the keys are detected correctly.
    I have  g15daemon , g15composer, g15macro, g15stats, libg15, lib15render installed.
The media keys are detected when setting them in the global shortcut for clementine, but pressing them has no effects (works on some reboots as i mentioned).
Hmmm....G15 media keys works out-of-the-box for Amarok.  I can experiment on my box once I'm through with work in a few hours.
Looking at the Clementine bugtracker-there's an open bug regarding multimedia keys on Win7 and Clementine already.  I'll play later-but I'm thinking this is something to post on their bug tracker.

  • Illumination Media Keys stopped working

    Please help me.
My illumination soft touch media keys are not working. I try to reinstall the Value Added Package but still the media keys are not working.
    What should I do?
Thanks I really appreciates your help.

Marlon I don't believe it is hardware problem. To be honest best way to fix this and test the functionality is to install OS again using Toshiba recovery image. After doing this you will have factory settings and clean preinstalled Vista and everything should work properly again.
You can start installation from HDD using F8 at start-up. All data saved on second partition will be there and you will not lose them.
If you are not sure how to do this check this document - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

  • Quick time Media keys issue

    Hello
I work for a company which makes .mov files, which is embedded with quicktime movies,So my computer at work has all the media keys fed to the quicktime by me....
The problem is it keeps disappearing once a day ...which results me in entering them again ...which is a pain entering
Anybody have any idea why this is happening .....
    Thanks in advance

    Hello
    Thanks for reading
    Thanks Kyn Drake
I thought I will provide more information about my issue which will give explain the issue a bit better
The company I work for makes movies (AVI) and put them in our custom software as .mov and sell it,Which is converted to .mov and encoded using media keys through Sorenson Squeeze..(This is done on a separate system dedicated for the use of Squeeze)
So if we have to play them in my computer, where we make these movies I embedded the corresponding keys in quicktime media keys section in order for them to play.
So the movies plays no issues
But,The issue is Once I installed the software it doesnt work, Let me explain how our software licenses the keys.
Our software which consist of all the movies with different media keys plays in any computer without these keys since the software comes with an usb key ( which has these keys embedded in them)
I installed the software in my computer which already has media keys in the computer and also the usbkey plugged in inorder for the software to run without any issues...
So every time the software loads it loads they movie file to quicktime(inside the software) and then removes the keys from the Quicktime ..since it already has the keys in the usb.
( To my understanding it is not suppose to remove the media keys no matter what)
I am not sure if quicktime is destined to do this or is there any way to fix this issue
Sorry English is not my first language so if any of the above doesn't make much sense excuse me. I will try to be more explanatory
    Thanks in advance

  • Quick question about Quicktime media keys.......

I had a question about encoding video and media keys. It seems to me that the only codec that allows you to encode it with a media key is Sorenson (Sorenson 3 I think). Why are they the only ones that are enabling that in their codecs? Is it kind of a dying technology or practice? I've experimented with Sorenson 3 and Sorenson Squeeze trials and, even though it looks ok, it simply doesn't stack up to others like Apple's H.264 or open-source x264 or even Xvid. I guess I wish there were a way to be able to use media key options with all the new H.264 codecs. Is it possible to do that, either with Xcode or AppleScript? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

QuickTime has supported 'media keys" since version 3 but you can only add them using the third party software.
You would be better served by contacting Sorenson and asking them about their support for newer codecs.

The  multi media keys on my HP HID wireless Multi Media keyboard no longer work although the rest of the keys are O.K.. I think I did something wrong when I went into the 'properties' as I can no longer see the 'BUTTONS'  listed there. Can anybody help please.

    Hi Waren
    Adding to Tulse's helpful suggestions...
I recently created my first Keynote. Before using the application I watched the short videos from this Apple Keynote Tutorial. This short time investment helped me immensely. Saved a lot of time.
Images: you will have to import your photos into iPhoto or Aperture, as Keynotes Media Browser accesses your images from those sources. And, as Tulse suggested keep images at or smaller than 1024x768. Otherwise you may experience lag time.
When I prepare images for Keynote, I first alter them in Photoshop as PSD files using a minimum of 240 dpi. When saving, I change the DPI to 150 dpi (probably can get away with 72 dpi, however I bumped it a bit just to be safe). Then, I save as a JPG using the maximum quality setting (12). Image size is usually around 350K. Then, I open iPhoto (or Aperture) and import the images (shift/command/I keys is the iPhoto shortcut). I haven't had any problems with artifacts, however, if you do, then I also second TIFF as the alternative.
Also, make sure you are creating the keynote presentation on the same machine you'll use to run Keynote. On the MacBook Pro in Keynote, you'll set the Keynote size via the Inspector>Document panel to match your machine's monitor display size. In your case, select the Custom option and set it to 1440x900.
Lastly, always best to have at least one dry run, ideally on screen. Keynote has great transitions. The tutorial provides some good suggestions about how to use them effectively to keep your audiences attention.
    Good luck
