Media Live multiple video output

I am considering buying a Media Live barebone as my HTPC.  The only thing holding me back is determining whether or not I am able to output to 2 different monitors as 2 separate displays.
My goal is to mount a touchscreen monitor (encased in a custom picture frame) on a wall to act as a hub for my media center.  It would connect to the Media Live HTPC via VGA to show the XP MCE interface.  I would be able to control audio and video from this monitor.  Also, when not in use, it would scroll through pictures in the screen saver.  The HTPC would then connect to my receiver via HDMI.  It would output audio and video to my LCD TV.
So basically, what I am looking to do, is control audio and video output to my TV from my touchscreen monitor.  If this is not possible, I could deal with displaying the same output on both the touchscreen and the TV, however I wish to use HDMI to keep high quality output.  So, I run in to the issue of my touchscreen monitor not having an HDMI port.
Any ideas?

I am not absolutely sure if I got you right, but the MSI Media Live barebone IS able to run two displays at the same time. I have got my HDTV connected via HDMI (signal passed through my Yamaha RX-V863 receiver) and a small touchscreen display via VGA, too at the same time. I think they cannot show different information at the same time but you can clone the screen on both displays.
You just should not forget that most VGA displays cannot show full HD resolution, so if you do not own a receiver for upscaling your HDMI signal to full HD you will have to enjoy your video on TV in the same resolution as on the VGA touchscreen (mostly 800x600 pixels => 720p). But with a AV receiver connected for upscaling the signal you can show information on a small touchscreen and (cloned) information on your HD TV in full HD at the same time.
There is only one thing that sucks: If you want to switch off or on your TV while the barebone is already running, you will get a video driver error since you "unplug" or "plug"  a non usb device while the system is running. So the video driver will be restored and you will have to repeat the procedure of activating the TV output and cloning the touchscreen's signal onto the TV (if you have bad luck you will even have to reboot the system before you can use the TV for cloned video output since the OS will not recognize the TV any more without a restart). By the way you can avoid this problem when you are using a AV receiver by keeping the receiver switched on while the barebone is switched on because then the output source will not vanish and Windows will be "satisfied".

  • Media Live - no HDMI output

    Hy folks, I have a problem with my Media Live, no output on HDMI... My TV is a fullHD Samsung, the PC is detected the TV, but no picture... The cable is good, I use it with my WD TV...
    Thanks...

    OK, so if you connect the Media Live to the TV with the HDMI cable and power it on, you don't even see the BIOS screen?
    Disconnect any other video output connection you have connected (VGA, TV-out etc), and make sure your TV is set to the correct 'channel' for HDMI input source - refer to your TV manual for this. I'm pretty sure most TVs won't automatically switch sources, I know my LCD TV will only switch when it detects a SCART-connected input is active.
    So, no signal during boot, but I think I find the solution: the HDMI socket is wrong... 2 pins is deeper in the socket like others, I move the cable and I have a picture a short time, but not continuous, it will blinking and the Tv is lost the signal

  • Adobe Media Encoder All Video Output 'White'

    Hi all,
    I am attempting to use Adobe Media Encoder to  export a QT h264 optimized for upload to facebook from a QT file exported 'Same as Source' from Avid MC 5.0.3, whic would be 1080i60 1920x1080.  The source file playsback correctly in QT player or VLC, but even the output preview screen in AME shows only a white image.
    I've also tried converting a completely different QT file created in Premiere Pro, with the same white video output issue.  I've tried opening/closing AME with no luck, but hte last time I used it I didn't have any problems and was able to produce the desired end result.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks for your input,
    Lindsay

    Hi,
    Yes you are correct in assuming the two software packages are on different machines. I am using Premire Pro CS5 5.0 and Avid Nitris DX MC 5.0.3 And no, I do not believe I have installed any Avid Codecs.  I just followed your link, will download and do so now.  I'm assuming this will fix the bug, but if not I will let you know.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Multiple Video Output

    I have 11 different video files to be played simultaneously. All files must commence playing simultaneously and will be output to 11 different screens with 1 video file to 1 screen.
    Has anyone tried something similiar?
    Is it possible to do this with a Mac?
    Right now I can only do this with costly dedicated hardware, so I'm just looking to see if I can find a solution with Mac.

    you would need a KVM switch or something along those lines to get ALL 11 on 1 computer... not to mention the computer would have to be good... if you have it where you can move things to each screen then all you have to do is move each video to each screen and then you would probly have to find some program to play them all at 1 time...
    that's all i know...

  • Multiple video outputs

    Has anyone figured out how to output in Hdmi and component at the
    same time..It is a real pain having to change video and audio settings
    between the two...

    See:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305096
    Look for the blue text box just before step 2.
    Note: HDMI takes precedence over component video connections if both are connected.
    This is probably a signal strength issue and won't be 'fixed'.

  • How can I do live streaming with a Mac Book Pro 2011, using a new model of Sony HD camcorder which does not have firewire out/input? it comes only with a component video output, USB, HDMI and composite RCA output?

    I need to do live streaming with a Mac Book Pro 2011, using a new model of Sony HD camcorder (http://store.sony.co...ber=HDRAX2000/H) ..this camcorder model does not have firewire out/input ..it comes only with a component video output, USB, HDMI and composite A/V video output..
    I wonder how can I plug this camcorder to the firewire port of my laptop? Browsing on internet I found that Grass Valley Company produces this converter http://www.amazon.co...=A17MC6HOH9AVE6 ..but I am not sure -not even after checking the amazon reviews- if this device will send the video signal through firewire to my laptop, in order to live streaming properly? ..anyone in this forum could help me please?
    Thanx

    I can't broadcast with the built in iSight webcam... how would I zoom in or zoom out? or how would I pan? I've seem people doing it walking with their laptops but that's not an option for me... there's nothing wrong with my USB ports but that's neither an option to stream video because as far as I know through USB you can't connect video in apple operating systems ..you can for sure plug any video cam or photo camera through usb but as a drive to transfer data not as a live video camera...  is by firewire an old interface developed by apple that you can connect all sorts of cameras to apple computers... unfortunately my new sony HDR-AX2000 camcorder doesn't have firewire output...

  • Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder and static image or recorded video?

    Is it possible to put a static image or a recorded video (instead of a live video feed) into Flash Media Live Encoder to air while broadcasting a live radio show online?

    FMLE will work with all devices which have direct show based drivers and give data in raw format. Here is a list of devices which have been tested and certified with FMLE - http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flashmediaencoder/FMLE_DeviceMatrix3.0.pdf

  • Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder 3 - Video Hardware Acceleration Warning

    I have been looking for an answer for this error for a few days without any luck.
    I just loaded the Adobe Free Encoder 3 and the Flash Media Server (Free Version) on a Dell PowerEdge 1950 running Windows 2003 server standard edition with Service Pack 2.  The computer has an Intel Pentium III Xeon 2.66GHz Quad core processor with 4GB RAM.  I am using an Osprey 240 video capture card.
    The computer was previously running Windows Media Encoder and it was working fine, but I needed to upgrade to a flash stream.
    Whenever I start the Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder I get the following error:
    "The video card's hardware acceleration level is set too low.  Open the Display Properties, Settings tab and click Advanced, then select the Troubleshoot tab and increase the Hardware acceleration setting.  Then restart the application, etc...
    I did as instructed and it did not work. I also tried changing the display settings to lower and higher resolutions.  I also updated the video card to the latest drivers.  I double checked the hardware requirements.  http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/flashmediaencoder/systemreqs/ and it looks like I'm ok.
    I also checked the approved hardware list http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flashmediaencoder/FMLE_DeviceMatrix3.0.pdf.
    The Osprey 240 is not listed, but that seems to be working fine.
    I'm thinking that the internal video card that I have may not be compatible with the Adobe Encoder.  The video card that I have is an ATI ES1000 embedded video that has only 16MB of RAM.
    I have the latest version of DirectX - I ran DxDiag and it shows that I'm running DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904),  Under the Display tab it says that the DirectDraw Acceleration, Direct3D Acceleration and AGP Acceleration are not available.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Anthony

  • Why is Flash Media Live showing multiple windows?

    When you look into a mirror, and there is one is in front and behind you, you see them seeming to loop forever. That's what's going on with me right now in Flash. How do I stop this, or adjust the focus to one spot without that effect?
    For context, I'm trying to stream something on DOSBox, and whenever I move my mouse around, the video frame moves with it. This I don't know how to fix either. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks.

    Flash Media Live Encoder doesn't work with Windows 8.
    The best it gets is Windows 7 64 bit.

  • Problem: Unable to get Flash Media Live Encoder output in AIR NativeProcess

    I'm having an issue interacting with the command line Flash Media Live Encoder 3.1 (FMLECmd) via AIR NativeProcess. I'm not sure if the issue lies with FMLE or with AIR.
    When starting the NativeProcess I am displaying the data from standard output to a text window and I get the Adobe copyright message and if I receive an error (for example loading a bad profile) I get all the data from standard output as you would expect.
    However, when I successfully start encoding, all I get is the copyright message and nothing else. I don't receive any of the text afterwards with information about the stream, settings, and the NetConnection/NetStream status messages.
    If I open a command window and then issue a FMLECmd.exe /s command to stop the stream, I then see all of the status messages sent to my AIR app and it displays everything properly, and also displays that the session is closed as expected. It's almost as if issuing another command flushes the standard output buffer.
    I've tried issuing another command via NativeProcess in the AIR app (/h or /s in the example above just to see if that would flush the buffer to get the status messages), but that didn't seem to work.
    So it appears either FMLE is not sending that data properly as it should to be recognized, perhaps holding it in the buffer, or AIR is not receiving it properly.

    Santmali which Adobe software title is your inquiry in reference too?

  • Live Streaming video and Flex2(3?) + Flash Media Server?

    I've seen alot of topic on how to create video sites for
    clips, etc. with Flex and Flash Media Server, but how about live
    streaming video, like a concert or a seminar. I can't find any
    information on this at all, could anyone point me in the right
    direction?

    What you need is grab video/sound form camera/mic, publish it
    on FMS and let the other clients play it. In a few steps:
    // get camera and mic
    var cam:Camera = Camera.getCamera(); // get default camera
    var mic:Microphone = Microphone.getMicrophone(); // get
    default mic
    // if you have VideoDisplay, for monitoring
    videoDisplay.attachCamera(cam);
    // create new RTMP connection to FMS/your app
    var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
    // new stream should be create *after* nc has connected, not
    before
    // so this is executed after the below nc.connect() succeeds
    nc.attachEventListener(Event.CONNECT, function(){
    var ns:NetStream = new NetStream();
    ns.attachCamera(cam);
    ns.attachMicrophone(mic);
    ns.publish("streamname", "live"); // or "record" if you want
    to live+rec
    // connect to default instance of app 'appname' on your FMS
    nc.connect("rtmp://fms.ip.address/appname");
    If you're using Flex2 and FMS2 (the latest FMS is 3), you
    might need to
    cuange the connection encoding to AMF0 (which is what FMS2
    uses) in order for this to work.
    Hope this helps; I've written it from my head so it probably
    has mistakes, but it's the general workflow; the docs in the
    language reference for specific functions mentioned here will also
    help.

  • Multiple Live Streaming Video in flash?

    Hello Everyone,
    I have this project in mind which I want to create a video
    montage of different live streaming videos from a few different
    users with their webcam in different locations. There will be the
    website which the participants will be able to view the live video
    montage in real time. However, I am unsure of where to start with
    (live video & server). Therefore I will be really thrilled if
    someone knows an example similar to this or someone who can offer
    me a lead in this topic!!
    I have knowledge in flash and abit of actionscripting.
    Much THANKS!!
    jen

    The 2-way video chat module example in the sample chapter
    from "Learning Flash Media Server 3" should give you some ideas.
    Obviously, you only want the 1-way (user to server) part of
    that, as you'll be displaying the video montage I guess in a web
    page as a set of regular flash streams.

    Sample chapter (PDF) :

    It looks to be an O'Reilly book, so you may be able to get
    the whole thing online, or get it delivered from O'Reilly or Amazon
    in a few days.
