Media Manager not recognizing Micro SD

Has anyone seen this before? Mass Storage mode is on (Auto), Desktop manager recognizes the device. Media Manager sees the device and folders, but the Micro SD card does not  appear on the media manager. Any ideas?

Update: Here was the fix to this for your future reference.
The MicroSD card was mapping to our F: drive, which was used for other purposes, so Media Manager couldn’t “see” it.  Once we re-mapped the card to another drive (E, it worked fine.  We got there as follows: Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management > Right Click on the Card > Change Drive Letter and Paths . . .  Note:  We first tried re-mapping the card to the B: drive, but it wouldn’t work (which is consistent with one of forum discussions I read).  It did work with our E: drive.

  • Media Manager not Recognized in 4.7

I just got my Curver 8319 about a week ago.  I don't have micro sd card yet.  So I'm trying to get the pictures that are on my 8310 from it to my computer.  I installed the software from the site because I can't find my disc that came with it, and the Media Manager is completely greyed out....meaning I can't select it at all.  I uninstalled it then reinstalled it WITH MEDIA MANAGER, and I am still getting the same thing.  So I uninstalled that one and reinstalled it in the multilanguage version of 4.7 WITH MEDIA MANAGER and I still cant select it.
What the h*** is going on.  I ahve spent literally all day on this and I'm a single parent of a one year old so I don't have this kind of time to be spending on this.  But I need to find some way to get the pics off of it onto my computer.  Oh and because I'm using the internal memory on the 8310 I don't ahve the option of having my computer recognize it as another drive when I hook it up via the usb cable.  It does recognize it but when I click on the drive it asks me to enter a disk into the drive, so that tells me it's not able to access the internal memory.

if you had a media card, you would be able to see the files in it with just a USB cable. a 4GB card costs about 6USD on Amazon...
if you don't want to buy one, you will have to either email the pictures to yourself, or find a way to use the Media Manager.
Unfortunately, that tool seems to be either very easy to use, or an utter hell on earth depending on the PC.

  • Media Manager not working properly after installing update

I have an 8110 and upgraded to desktop ver. 5.0.  Since that time, Media Manager does not recognize the 8110 put pictures on computer.
What do I need to do to correct this?
    Thanks.

There is no need in Media Manager.

  • Deleting unused media in Media Manager not working

This is one of those cases where I get really frustrated with Apple...
I've captured some footage from VHS using 'capture now', and the media that was created has a bunch of blank frames at the beginning and end. I'd like to remove the excess media from the clip to save space.
I'm following the directions EXACTLY as shown in the section "Creating Independent Media Files From Subclips After Capturing" from the Final Cut Pro User Manual on page 377 selecting subclips I want to keep and using Media Manager to delete unused media, but my media hasn't gotten any smaller, and the blank frames in the original media are still there if I reconnect it.
Furthermore, I've tried using media manager to copy the referenced media (from a subclip) to a new clip, and it just copies the whole file.
How can I get rid of this excess waste of space!!?

Well, does this footage have timecode? A REEL number? If you captured as NON-CONTROLLED device the footage might not have timecode, and without timecode the Media Manager cannot track exactly what you want to remove...what footage you want set aside and copied as the rest is deleted. This is also the case if you don't have a reel number. You might have 5 clips all with the same starting timecode but no reel number.

  • Media Manager not working with Slideshows

I just set up Media Manager and it is running properly on my PC.  The problem is when I run the slide show on my TV, I only get about 10-15 pictures in to the slide show and it exits and states "Device Unavailable"  Anyone have any ideas?

Is it possible your pc has shut down or gone to a hibernate state?Just an idea,I truly am not an expert!

  • MEDIA MANAGER NOT HANDLING AFTER EFFECTS 7.0 RENDERS

Media Manager works on my captured DV footage. However, when using an After Effects QT movie copy of my credits, it failed. I spent several hours on this since it initially was my "test."
I gave up then tried my captured footage, canceling before actually processing it. Voila! I could finally see a change in the bar graphs. Any ideas why this happened? Can't insert a screenshot of my afx settings (ugh!) so I've typed them. Thanks for helping!!!

There can be problems with media manager if your source clips do not have a reel associated with them (as happens with imported files as opposed to captured material). Try creating a tape name in the browser for these clips. This may solve your problem.

  • Media Manager not installing for latest Apple Mac version

Verizon Media Manager is not installing correctly on my macbook.
My apple OS version is 10.6.2.   The requirements for Verizon Media Manager is OS 1O.4 - 10.5.7. http://www36.verizon.com/fiostv/web/UnProtected/MediaManager.aspx
Help.  How can we get Verizon to update their media manager software to support the latest OS version?
    Solved!

    shocklizzard,
I'm sorry that there was previously no support for Snow Leopard.  However, the latest version of MM for Mac (v1.1) includes support for that OS.
Make sure you uninstall the previous version (if you haven't already) first.
Keep us posted with your progress!!!

  • Media Manager not deleting unused media from HDV (intermediate codec) clips

I have a project which uses HDV footage which I captured using the Apple Intermediate Codec. I now have a bunch of clips that are very large in file size so I'd like to use the Media Manager to delete all the unused footage from the clips. I have tried countless different selections of sequences, clips in the browser, clips in a timeline etc but can't seem to get the Media Manager to show a smaller file size for the processed files based on 'Use Existing' with 'Delete unused media' option. The two size meters at the top always stay the same. Can the media manager trim HDV/Apple Intermediate Codec footage? If not is there a way to get rid of the footage that I haven't used? Thanks!
    Ben

I've never mastered MM. If I want a small section out of larger clip, I simply just export that section of the clip using 'current settings'.
Hope someone who has tamed the MM beast will step in here and offer you a better way...
    good luck.

  • Media Manager not collecting all files to new destination - Why?

    Specs: 10.5.8 / Final Cut Pro 6.06 / Dual Quad Tower -
So here's the conundrum. We've got a lot of video projects to backup (about 80) and move to another drive.
When we go to media manager and ask it to copy files over to a new destination, it grabs MOST of the files associated with the project. But without fail, it will not grab and copy all of the files that were sent to Soundtrack Pro. Any STAP file on Final Cut Pro's timeline gets left behind.
    Why is this?
Here's a screen cap of our settings...
    http://www.kchtenthusiasts.com/webpics/mediamanager.jpg
Any and all suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

Media Manager won't solve this for you; it's a game. You will need to manually locate and move tons of stuff like photographs, music tracks, movies from After Effects or Motion' almost anything FCP did not actually create.
You must carefully test each of your MM files. Very carefully.
Instead of relying on MM, ere's another possibility: Just clone your scratch/render/output drives and then remove stuff not associated with the projects. Then copy the FCP project files to the drives. This sometimes works for us because many of our projects use the same footage, over and over again. If we were using MM, we'd be copying the same stuff many times. If we just clone the drives the copies of the FCP projects easily relink to the footage in whatever source folder it might live.

  • Media Manager Not Available

I have Desktop Manager v4.7 installed.  When I go into Media, the Media Sync is availbe to use, but the Media Manager is not availble.  The start button is grayed out.  I did download the version with it included.
    Any ideas?

Your BlackBerry desktop manager doesn't have Media Manager with it. You need to download and install Desktop Manager with Media Manager. Downloadlink is here -

Media Sync is saperate installation and that;s why it's present in your computer.

  • Media Manager not bringing along .aep file

    Hi,
In CS5.5., I use the media manager to make a trimmed copy of my project for archiving (I select all the sequences) yet it won't bring along any after effects files (.aep) that were used in the premiere project. The end result is a trimmed copy sans any .aep files, so for now I bring the .aep files in manually but is there a reason/solution to this?
    Thank you

is there a solution to this?
Yes.  Use the proper tool for the job.  For file management, you use a file manager, not an NLE.  That means Explorer or Finder.

  • Media Manager not working with new Verizon Curve, Please Help...

Close to returning my new Curve. The Roxio Media Manager will not recognize my Curve at all. I have tried everything, read every post and still nothing. Using version 4.3 of Desktop Manager with Vista Home Premium. Someone please help...
                                                            Thanks for any help

Same issue here.  Contacted Verizon tech support, they had me reinstall media manager -- which did nothing.  They had me try disabling mass media support and the media card support.  Neither which worked.  After 90minutes on the phone, the tech was contacting their "advanced support department" to get more info.  I got fed up and hung up.  Maybe they will call me back -- who knows.
The tech said that they might have to contact RIM to get it fixed.  I am thinking verizon inadvertantly blocked media transferring -- like they do on all of their other phones.  However, VCAST is not available on Blackberry phones for Verizon, so it is a stupid idea if they did it.

  • Blackberry Media Manager NOT working for Blackberry storm (wont install on computer)

Hello 2months ago I got a Blackberry storm. Its a good phone but I have one problem that would make it much better. When I try installing the desktop manager, everything installs besides the Roxio Media manager. It gives me an error and cancels the installation of Roxio and continues with the other stuff. I really want to transfer Photos and Videos from my phone to my computer and vice-versa. Please tell me what I can do to install the Media Manager to get the device working. I am not using the CD's to install, i downloaded it from the blackberry website. The english version WITH media manager, and I even clicked Custom install and made sure it was planning to install it.
    My error is this:
     Error 1402.Could not find key:
    UNKNOWN/ComCtl3.CoolBar/CLSID
Verify you have sufficient access to the key , or contact your support personelle.
What does that mean I have to do?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
You don't need Roxio nor Media Manager to transfer files to/from your BB. Follow these instructions and be sure to download the version of Desktop Manager that is without either of those...
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=BlackBerryDesktopSoftware&thread.id=3...
With that, you'll be able to have 2 additional drive letters on your Windows PC and you can drag-and-drop just like any other drive on your machine. Slick.
    Cheers!

I'm running it on a Windows 7 64-bit system and it works just fine.  Have you unistalled it and tried to reinstall it as a full administrator?  FYI there is an unistall program in the Verizon start menu folder, but you should also try doing it via the  programs and features control panel.

  • Micro media explorer not recognizing zen micro, organizer and Windows does.

I recently purchased a Micro 6, did all program installs. etc. and could never get it to work properly, exchanged it for another, had all the problems to get it recognized by Windows etc. and through this site, managed to get compatable with zen organizer and windows media player0, but the micro media explorer refuses to see it! I checked the registry and noticed that the two units are registered there (usb), could that be the problem, and if so ,how do I correct it's
It seems to me that I uninstalled the first unit, that this not clear the registry of it also?
    Thanks in advance.

I have KINDA the same problem. The Zen Media Explorer doesn't reconize my device and I don't know HOW to make lists etc in the MediaSource Organizer (is there any tutorial f?r it or something? i need lots of help there.. how to make lists and how to get em into the Zen).
I've had to copy / paste music to my zen manually.. which takes longer than necessary and I can't make fancy lists etc.. Help would be very appreciated :/
Oh, and I have version 2..02 if that makes any diffrence.
    Thanks.
