Media manager won't recognise media card or contents

I'm getting frustrated here... the Blackberry used with the old Roxio PC software work fine. The laptop has been rebuilt, and the new BB Media manager does not want to recognise the photos I have stored on the Media card. I can upload them individually (there are around 300 of them) to Facebook or similar, I can bluetooth them individually to my Apple. But can not get them off or access them on mass. The Apple PC says "Unable to locate media card". The Windows PC says the media card is encrypted. I want these pics, what am I doing wrong?
I also remember when I had the first BB that I could access all the files as if the BB and media card were HDDs - now, despite loading the USB drivers that will not work.
Can anyone help please - apologies if this is a fixed problem already... I have searched the boards but nothing is coming up that answers the problem.
Thanks
Adam

These are files from an SD card camera so have no natural reel numbe
Well, if you use Log and Transfer then FCP will assign it one. I use L&T for P2 and for the footage from my Canon DSLR, and FCP assigns it the name of the folder that I offloaded the SD card onto. Which is why I give the folders unique names...tape names.
Maybe FCP won't recompress properly as you aren't using an editing codec to begin with. "I have some h264 .mp4 files that I want to recompress into motion jpeg files for offline editing on my Macbook Pro." H.264 isn't designed for editing, so it might not work right. First convert to ProRes 422, then media manage smaller.

  • Media manager won't recompress media

I have some h264 .mp4 files that I want to recompress into motion jpeg files for offline editing on my Macbook Pro. I select the Media Manager options specified in the FCP Manual -- "Recompress using Offline RT (photo JPEG)," etc. -- but Media Manager won't recompress the files. It just copies the .mp4 project over to the project media folder that it creates.
I think I did this in the past and it worked, but it isn't working now. I also tried recompressing to Apple Intermediate Codec, and that isn't working either. I'm using FCP 5.1.4.
I can do the job by exporting individual files from Quicktime Pro but would much rather do it all at once with FCP. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanx,
    Ralph

  • Roxio Media Manager Won't Recognize SD Card

I've followed some threads around here checking to see if I could fix this solution. I've reformatted my card several times, reinstalled BB Desktop Manager, along with almost everything else. My device shows up in the "My Devices" tab but it will not display my card. Any ideas?

BB desktop mgr v4.6 and 4.7 were released relatively close and I would first recommend first to uninstall v4.6 and go ahead and install v4.7....
Also, just as a note, the largest portion of the BB desktop mgr install and operation is the Media Mgr, due to the use of different drivers and operations in your cpu, so it will take a few minutes to run in some cases....
Try restarting your CPU to make sure no glitches are present on the computers operating system -
If after these two steps you are having a problem loading just the Media Mgr portion of the desktop software, then you may have a driver conflict occuring thru windows not allowing the proper load of this program... just a thought...
Let me know how it goes!

  • Media Manager won't recompress as MOV from AVI

I have hours and hours of AVI files that were captured on a PC before I switched over. When I import into FCP, I get a warning saying the files aren't "optimized" for FCP, and that I should recompress using Media Manager.
I use Media Manager -- I choose recompress, and pick my destination, but it only creates more AVI files, not MOV files, and I can't figure out why?
When I try to import these new AVI files into my project, I get the same optimization warning... what am I doing wrong? (using FCP 5.1.4)

How about trying to convert in Quicktime rather than Media Mangler?

  • Desktop Manager Won't Recognize Media Card Installed

I have installed a media card in my device.  I have changed the default storage of new pictures to the card.  I would like to move the other images from device memory to the media card, but Desktop Manager will not recognize the media card is installed.  The media card does contain images, and I have successfully emailed attachments.  How can I get Desktop Manager to recognize the media card?

    Hi there!
Here are some instructions for configuring your BB and Media Card to appear as USB drives within Windows:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=BlackBerryDesktopSoftware&thread.id=3...
The only difference might be the version of DTM to use...5.0 is the current version.
    Good luck!

  • Blackberry desktop media manager won't open

I have no problem syncing my contacts, calendar items etc, using the desktop; I can even transfer media files no problem directly onto my media card.  But when I try to use desktop manager media manager it won't open.  When I double click on it it thinks for a second then does nothing.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks.

have you had a previous version of DTM installed before?
do you have an active start button for media manager?
check add/remove programs and see if you have any other roxio, or ezcd creator software
have you tried syncing just contacts, or just calendar?
    do you get any errors?
what version of DTM do youhave installed?

  • Media Manager won't manage ringtones

I downloaded and installed 4.3b25.  I downloaded a ringtone.  I browsed for it and found it on my hard drive.  I then did an Edit->Copy.  I changed the view to the ringtones and tried to do a Paste.  The yellow progress bar got to 50% and then it aborted.  Nothing appeared in the ringtone list.
Just for the helluvit, I then did a copy to the ringtones area of the 8830 phone.  I got a prompt about modifying the data, I did not and let it transfer the file as is.  It transferred and showed up in the phone.  I set the ringtone and it tested out fine.
Any idea why I can't get the ringtone in the Media Manager portion of the program?

  • Verizon Media Manager won't install - How do I get photos from my phone memory to my PC?

I'm getting frustrated with my new Droid, HTC Incredible. The salesman said I could just plug in the USB and transfer my photos to and from my computer, that the phone would look just like an external hard drive. False...
I plug in the USB and get an option to open the folders or to install drivers. If I chose to open the folders, I see three external drives - one with an autorun.inf file and a few other files. If I click on the other two drives, I get a message telling me to install a disk in the drive.
If I click, "Install Drivers" I am taken to the VerizonWireless website and instructed to install Verizon Media Manager. Okay, so I try to do that, on my Windows 64 bit OS, and get a message that says,
"This Application does not support 64 bit operating systems - operation aborted" (or something like that).
    So now what?

I apologize you are having problems connecting your device with your PC.
    Try using these steps below:
    Windows 7
Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Device Manager.
    Windows Vista
Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (System and Maintenance) > Device Manager.
    If prompted, click Continue.
     Windows 2000 / XP
Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (Performance and Maintenance) > System > Hardware > Device Manager.
The following devices are normally installed:
    Anrdoid USB Devices
    My HTC
    Disk drives
    HTC Android Phone USB Device
    Modems
HTC Modem (if using as a tethered modem)
    Portable Devices
E:/ (Where E represents the assigned drive letter.)
    Universal Serial Bus controllers
    USB Composite Device
    USB Mass Storage Device
If a red X, yellow ! or yellow ? is displayed to the left of a listed device, a conflict is present and the drivers must be updated or reinstalled.
Driver conflicts may also be indicated by a device entry labeled Other Devices or Unknown.
    1.  If using the HTC DROID Incredible ADR6300 as a Sync device continue to step 3. If using the HTC DROID Incredible ADR6300 as a Modem ensure the device drivers are installed.
    2.  If VZAccess Manager is installed and a driver conflict is still present, continue to step 3. Right-click the device then click Update Driver Software.
    3.  If using Windows 2000 / XP, right-click the device then click Update Driver.
The device name may differ from the example shown.
    4. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
If using Windows 2000 / XP, select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then click Next.
Enter C:\Windows\System32\driver into the search window then click Next.
If using Windows 2000 / XP, ensure that Search for the best driver in these locations and Include this location in the search are selected.
    5.  The driver location can be entered manually or navigated to by clicking Browse.
If the driver software is not found, a Windows Operating System update  may be needed.
    6. Click Close.
If using Windows 2000 / XP, click Finish.
Once your done, you should be able to see one of the following choices in  your My Computer:
    Anrdoid USB Devices
    My HTC
    Disk drives
    HTC Android Phone USB Device
    Modems
HTC Modem (if using as a tethered modem)
    Portable Devices
E:/ (Where E represents the assigned drive letter.)
    Universal Serial Bus controllers
    USB Composite Device
    USB Mass Storage Device
You can then sync the device with the PC.
Connect the device to the computer with the USB cable. From the home screen, pull down the window shade (located at the top of the screen).
Touch Disk drive then touch Done.
From File Explorer / Finder on the computer, create a new music folder in Removable Disk (X.
Removable Disk (X represents the SD Card installed in the device. This name may vary.
Use the computer to copy pictures into the newly created folder.
From the home screen, pull down the window shade (located at the top of the screen).
Touch Charge only then touch Done.
Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.

  • Media Manager won't detect device!

I have a blackberry 7230, and it is detected fine by the desktop manager but that media manager crap (god I hate Roxio) doesnt detect anything.
I've tried reinstalling, tried installing it before desktop desktop manager, but no luck.
Even tried installing it on a different PC, what could be the problem?

I use Desktop Manager 4.3 with Roxio Manager.  It has the lastest version of Roxio Manager in which you can move or copy files from desktop to the exandable memory AND the blackberry internal memory. But you may need to get at least the 4.2 OS for blackberry. I have the Blackberry Curve and I am able to transfer files from desktop to internal memory via Roxio without any problems.
Be very careful though.  The Blackberry only has 16 MB of memory, if you load a lot of big files it may corrupt other data on your blackberry and will definitely slow the device down.  If I were you, I would upgrade to a blackberry that has expandable memory to avoid this.  You can get 16 GB micro SD cards now, there is a HUGE difference between 16 MB and 16 GB!
Roxio Manger provides a warning for transferring large files to Blackberry internal memory and in fact imposes a limit which I believe is 2.83 MB.

  • Media Manager won't consolidate

    Hi
I'm trying to consolidate my projects. I've had success already today, but project number two just won't drop its weight. It's and 8 min timeline with one video layer plus the occassional title on V2 and a modest amount of audio. It's coming in at 23GB. In media manager I ask it to copy the sequence and ditch the rest. I've been careful about which boxes I select, but that target bar won't budge down from 23GB.
There are no nested sequences nor clips from another sequence with that sequence name. All the clips refer to the master clips in the Capture Scratch folder, and I'm asking for those clips to be copied selectively.
    Any help appreciated.
    best
    Aldo

Why didn't I think of that?
Indeed, the manual tells me that clips without timecode cannot be consolidated as they could be easily recaptured, so FCP errs on the side of caution. This is exactly what I have here.
    Thank you for your thoughts.
    best

  • Media Manager won't load

I just got a new curve 8320 and I've installed the Blackberry Desktop Manager v 5.0.1.18
It connects to my BB fine via usb cable but in Add/Remove Applications, it comes up blank with the message "No software is available for your device".
Also, when I try to install the Media Manager, it gets stuck at "downloaded 59.7MB out of (unknown)" and then the loading box just disappears. I've tried just reclicking the Install button and the same things happens.
I've tried to look online for the Media Manager file to download separately but nothing came up.
If someone could help me out that would be great. Thanks so much!

    Hi there!
    A couple of thoughts...
5.0.1.18 is an older version of DTM -- it is up to 5.0.1.28...I suggest you try the most recent version.
Media Manager -- only use a version of DTM/MM if you absolutely must. MM can be problematic and, if you don't need it, then grab a DTM version without MM.
There is no separate MM to DL -- the DTM package you grab (with or without MM) determines what you will have.
You might want to try these clean re-start instructions:
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista/Win7, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    7) Start the organizer configuration over:
KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Media Manager won't work.

So, I bought my Blackberry Curve 8500 today and I started downloading the Desktop Manager, everything worked perfectly. But since I didn't want the Media Manager installed together with the rest in the beginning, the program told me I could still install it (Media Synch was already installed). I clicked Install, waited for it to finish and restarted my computer. (I didn't disconnect my phone while I was doing this)
I opened Desktop Manager again and clicked at the Launch button to run the Media Manager, but I keeps saying this:
    "Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Program Files\Roxio\Media Manager 9\MediaManager9.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an anusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."
When I click OK this appears next:
    "Runtime Error!
    R6023
    - pure virtual call"
I would really appriciate it if anyone could help, thank you.

HI - I have the exact same problem as this post. Yes- i've uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop manager software- I plug in my BB tour 9630 and I get would you like MSP- I click yes and get nothing in the managerManger. No options. If I click NO the only thing I can do is back updata- No media downloads.
It was working fine until last Sunda and I've changed nothing on my laptop. The USG port works perfect and the cable is new.

  • Vcast Media Manager won't give iTunes node

Just installed VCast Media Manager, version 1.1 (build 11). I'm running iTunes 10.1.1.4.  I'm running Windows XP on a netbook.
When I launch VMM, it shows Windows Media Player as a node on the left side, but  not iTunes.
It scanned and found all of the music files in my iTunes folders, but it doesn't show it as a node and let me manage the playlists.
    What am I doing wrong?

I don't have a PC support to contact, and if I did, why would they know anything about VMM software?
What is VMM looking for, in order to recognize iTunes as a node in the VMM software?
What, for instance, does it "see" in order to recognize Windows Media Player?
Is there a particular registry value?
A service that should be running?
Are there settings in iTunes that should be configured a certain way for VMM?

  • Roxio Media Manager won't run and get error messge about C+++

Error message says Media Manager has requested Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.  Please contact suport team.  I wrote to Roxio about it and supplied screen shots of the message and their response was to contact RIM.  Typical run around.  Same problem on a different computer where I had a working version of BB Desktop Manager and then installed the new 4.7 and started to get the same problem. Would seem this is a RIM problem.  Anyone else out there that knows anything about this error or how to get past it?
