Media Offline for long m2t files

I'm using Premiere Pro CS6 and when I import a m2t video into it it sometimes says "Media Offline"  even though I have not touched the source files at all. Usually all I have to do in this situation is relink the files, however here that is not the case. I shot all the video with the same camera so I know it's not premiere not having the correct codecs since some of the work. The only difference I'm seeing between the different files is that it seems to be having more issues with the longer videos (more than about 1 hour and about 15gb in size). I can provide any additional information you may require.
Thanks for your help,
Casey

  • How osb handle end point offline for long time

    Hi all,
In my project, the messages will be sent real time to distributed client, each client is only have one end point, so there is no load balancing could be applied. I already set the retry count, iteration interval and also offline endpoint URIs setting. Will it sufficient, in case the client hang or offline in long time, 2 hours or longer?
How osb keep the message, will the frequent retry process causing performance issue?
Any suggestion for proper configuration in this case?
    Really thanks in advanced.
    Regards,
    Mr.K

only have one end point, so there is no load balancing could be applied. I already set the retry count, iteration interval and also offline endpoint URIs settingYes rety retry count is efficient when the interval are low..2 hrs or longer is little longer for stateless routing which OSB does.
How osb keep the message, will the frequent retry process causing performance issue?Yes. I guess... OSB will be doing some thing like RequestThread.sleep(...).Again this will be transport to transport related
Any suggestion for proper configuration in this case?Using such long intervals might not scale up

  • "Media offline" and "The selected file cannot be linked"

Ok, I'm extremely frustrated right now.  I opened up a project file, and all of my motion backgrounds say "Media offline."  The files have not been moved or changed.  They haven't even been touched.  So, I tried to link them back, but then it says "The selected file cannot be linked because its type (video) does not match the original file's type (audio and video)."
There was never any audio associated with these files.  These files have always been just motion backgrounds.
I can't just reimport them and start over.  There are too many of them.
Is there any way I can just override the error?  I obviously don't need any audio.  I don't understand why there's no option to just link without the audio, especially since there never was any audio.

Sorry, this is CS3.  I forgot to write that.
Edit: Ok, if anybody else has this problem and finds this through Google, I found out what caused it and how to fix it.
Some other program, I think a video converter, rewrote my codecs.  And it didn't do a good job.  I had already removed the video converter because it wasn't any good anyway.  So, I went through my "Uninstall or change a program list" (this being Windows), and removed everything that didn't look familiar, and then I reinstalled Xvid.  Now it works fine.

  • Media Offline for No Reason

I've come across an issue with some Premiere Pro projects that sometimes randomly disconnect media from the project--even when the media hasn't moved. This happens when I open up the project. I'll go to export the sequence and a couple clips have disconnected themselves from their source files. It's even more difficult in Premiere because you can't search for offline media. Instead, I've had to go through a 30 minute show to find the couple tiny clips that are offline.
What's a good way to manage this? What could be causing it? Anyone else come across this?

...even when the media hasn't moved.
Are your media files located on an internal or an external drive?
Are you using any preference or utility that 'spins down'
or 'times out' a drive after a certain period of inactivity?
    Your version of Premiere?
    Your OS?
It's even more difficult in Premiere because you can't search for offline media. Instead, I've had to go through a 30 minute show to find the couple tiny clips that are offline.
Instead... select everything in your Project Panel (Ctrl/Cmd+A),
    right-click, and select "Link Media".
Premiere is smart enough to figure out that you only want
to link the offline media, and will prompt you as many times
as it takes to locate the offline clips.

  • How to enable a printer which was offline for long time?

    Hi,
One of our printers has not been used for a long time and was set to be permanently offline. Due to the need of printing, the printer was enabled. It is powered on (and can also be disabled and enabled) but is unable to print.
Is there anything in SAP to check to see why it is failing to print?
I have tried to check the status of this printer with other printer which is working fine. There is no difference in between their settings.
The spool requests are waiting to be printed. I would like to check the ip addresses of the printers. Is it possible to find them through SAP. My O/S is Unix.
Please help me to find the IP addresses of printers attached through SAP and I will try to check them first.
    Thanks
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,
    Check SPAD -> output devices
Check thats the printer is properly setup and it been handled by and active spool server, check that the printer ip-address is correct and the right method is in place.
You can find the ip address of the printer by doing a ping <name of the printer> in a command prompt.

  • Fast Forward & Rewind doesn't work for long audio files

I have loaded several mp3 files into the Pre via USB.  Some are 2+ hours long, some are a few minutes.  Fast forwarding thru the track doesn't work on the long files.  Holding down the fast-forward arrows will cause the audio to stutter in the same place, sometimes go BACKWARDS instead of forwards, and eventually it will go silent.  Pressing Pause, Play, whatever won't bring it back and ytou have to start the audio file over.
    Help, Palm!

Yea, the fast forward is way lame and pretty much...
    You get the idea.

  • Any support for m2ts files?

It seems this is a common problem with AVCHD, but will there be no support for importing m2ts files?  It sounds like we can import mts files from the camera, but not m2ts files (i.e. those mts files which have been downloaded from the camera to the computer already).  It always seems very silly to me, because who keeps all their video on their camera indefinitely?  Most of my video is m2ts on my computer already, so what I really want is compatibility with these files.  Is this a pipedream?

    Julie Kmoch wrote:
Thanks for the feedback. I'll take it up with the video team as to whether we can open up to this file extension. In general, our focus is on video from DSLRs rather than camcorders, since that's where the vast majority of our customers are. But the line gets blurry with AVCHD which has a foot in both worlds.
This is an endlessly tiresome and increasingly common phoned-in reaction from Adobe (in an "answered" thread).  For Adobe's developers to spend the two seconds it takes to include another file extension for recognition of the exact same file format is zero innovation and merely being responsive to a major customer concern.  It has nothing to do with the back-pocket excuse of steering Lightroom to "focus" on photography and less on video, and also nothing to do with the performance/speed/"zippiness" of the application.  Adobe is highlighting its launch of Lightroom 4 with an advertising manifesto that it improves video support (while asking for large upgrade payments).  Mixed messages combined with "we're not focusing on video" is insulting to Adobe's loyal customers.
Support it, or not.  But if you market the product as supporting but refuse to follow through with zero-innovative fixes, then you are committing commercial fraud.

  • How to optimize MF Media Source for MKV playback (containing H264 and AC3)

I've built a working Media Foundation Media Source for matroska (MKV files) using the sample for an MPEG Source.  I've finally gotten it to a point where I can play the file and both video and audio are visible and audible.  I followed the MPEG1Source
    code quite closely actually.
However, I can't seem to make the video playback smoothly.  Audio plays fine, but video just can't seem to keep up with the playback speed. It stutters and breaks up into blocks constantly.
The only thing I have been able to try is to remove as much dynamic allocation of memory as I can.   While my parser parses the file and initially creates a bunch of objects on the heap (pertaining to track formatting, cue locations, etc)
, when I start actually parsing video and audio frames, I'm no longer dynamically allocating memory on the heap.  I even removed a std::queue for frame lengths and created a fixed length circular buffer instead.
What else do I need to try?
I am simply parsing each of the video and audio frames in the order that they appear in the file.  The frames are not Annex B compatible (for H264), so in the DeliverPayload function I replace the length section of each NAL unit within the frame
with a start code of 00 00 00 01.   Then I copy the frame into the stream's buffer.
One thing that is very different from the MPEG1Source example is that I am not creating structs that contain all of the video "initialization" data (i.e. MPEG1StreamHeader, MPEG1SystemHeader, MPEG1PacketHeader).  Instead, I am leaving all
of it as public variables on my parser class.  So I am referring back to my parser quite a bit from the MKVSource class.  I don't know if this affects anything.
Anyways, I'd be happy to elaborate to get this working... Thanks!
    Lee McPherson

    Just a follow-up:
I was indeed calculating the timecode / timestamp incorrectly.  MKV uses a technique called lacing to stitch frames together and save space.  While I was separating them and forwarding them correctly to the pipeline, the timecode in the header
for each laced block only applies to the first frame.  I needed to add the default duration time to each successive frame laced in the block.
While not specifying the timestamp using the SetSampleTime method caused smooth video, it was actually playing faster than the audio.  Each frame _needs_ a timestamp to sync correctly with the audio or other streams.

  • PE 7: Media offline and Crashing

My Adobe Elements 7 has been acting up a lot lately. Sometimes when I load up my videos and add it, the music will play but my video will freeze and I will have to restart it. Another problem has been the media offline screen. My files and such are in the same spot as when I uploaded them but yet they have the offline red screen. If I click on some of the footage with the red screens, they will pop up as if they are online again. The other ones I have to actually move slightly and then the original footage will pop back up. On the timeline they look like they are online with the raw footage but if I bring the red line over them the picture will come up as if they are offline. If I double click the raw footage they come up normally but on the actual edited screen they are the media offline screen. And just today after I went through and moved and clicked all the red screens for my video to actually show, I went to save to My Personal Computer, After I clicked save, my computer crashed and went to the blue screen. I was hoping this was a one time thing. After my computer re-booted, I went through my offline screens again, clicked save to my personal computer and the computer crashed again and went to the same blue screen. I have made videos before and never had this problem. It is also very irritating because the videos I make take about 2 weeks+ to make and now I can't even finish them. My operating system is Windows Vista. My computer is a Dell Studio xps system, new in August 2009. Any suggestion on how to fix this, is there an update needed? Hopefully something I can download.

Is your media on your C drive or on a second hard drive? If your media is being stored on a second hard drive --
particularly an external hard drive -- that could account for it showing up offline. It could be that, every time you start up your computer, your computer is assigning a different letter to the drive, for instance.
As for yoru crashes, that likely signals a more serious problem with your system. But it's hard to say what without knowing what type of camcorder your video is coming from, how fast your processor is, how much RAM you have and, especially, how much free, defragmented space is on your hard drive. It sounds very much like your system is choking because it lacks hardware resources or because the camcorder or media you are using is demanding more resources than you can provide (as when you use photos that are larger than 1000x750 pixels in size).

  • Opening m2t files in QT

I have a FSC Firestore on my Canon XH A1 and I can record HD in m2t and .mov quicktime format.
So far I haven't been able to open the .mov files in QT or Final Cut Express. Downloaded
Streamclip for the m2t files. Does anyone have a solution for opening the .mov files? I'm
sure that Final Cut Pro will handle them, but can't afford it. Thanks.
    Charles Dodd

Opening MPEG-2 files in QuickTime requires the Apple MPEG-2 Playback Component.
Converting them requires MPEG Streamclip or other third party software.

  • Mpeg2 file or M2TS file

    Hello,
I did work work adobe premiere and Sony vegas where I can put a MPEG2 file with audio mux in it and I am able to play the file and see the audio on the timeline
With final cut pro I can import the file on the timeline but there is no audio. I need to convert it in a .mov file to use the audio.... Is there something that I miss is there a trick somewhere that I don't know.
Also for the m2ts file comming from my camera that seem to be a mpeg2 or 4 with Adobe premmiere and sony Vegas I'm able to work with the original file. But with AppleFCP I need to DO capture and transfert to pick wich one I need on the list and import it. So for a 1 hours file it take 30 minutes to convert. ho and it take twice place on the hard drive....
Is there also something I miss there also ?
Thanks for the help in advance

Who is the manufacturer of your camera and what model is it?
The typical workflow for MPEG based cameras is to convert the footage to ProRes so that it can be edited.

  • Media file thumbnails in browser say "media offline", but files are online and available for viewing/editing. How do I get a thumbnail of the clip back?

I am moderately experienced with FCE, but cannot figure out this issue. The thumbnails in my browser say "media offline", and no longer show a thumbnail of my video clip. When I try to reconnect the media files, the reconnect dialog box only checks for "online" media. I am able to view and work with the media files in my project even though it says they are offline. This issue seems to occur after a power outage. Its more of an annoyance than anything else, but I would still like to find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Figured it out.

  • ** URGENT: ** MEDIA IS OFFLINE for Mp4 files after updating Premiere Pro CC to 8.1

    Hi there,
I upgraded recently to Premiere pro CC 2014 and I am working on a project that is already late.
I was having some small issues then I thought that after upgrading to latest version everything would be fine.
I just started Premiere and opened my project and had an error message, just like this guy
Premiere Pro CC 2014 seems to  Corrupt projects created with earlier versions
Then I deleted the preference files and the project could be opened again.
But the MP4 files haven't opened and has the imagem MEDIA OFFLINE
(and I have LOTS of MP4 files that were working absolutely fine before)
I tried to make links again but it didn´t worked.
I tried to drag and drop MP4 files it didn´t worked too. (unsuported media file)
I renamed the folder ADOBE from \user\appdata\local and roaming  twice.
I tried to start with SHIFT ALT to delete preferences againa - didn´t worked too.
    I tried to reinstall Quicktime.
I tried to reinstall K-Lite codec pack.
I REALLY need your help before formating and starting everything from scratch.
    Thanks and best regards.

So if you got here looking for an answer, this is what worked for me:
(se você quer uma resposta em portugues me avise)
    - Exit all adobe software (including Cloud)
    - Delete preference folder (adobe) in my documents.
    - Rename Adobe folder from \userfolder\appdata\roaming and \userfolder\appdata\local to old.adobe
    - Uninstall any codec package that you might have installed
    - Uninstall Premiere via add/remove programs
    - Look for *.xmp files and remove all
    - Remove rendered files too from your project folder.
    - Restart computer
    - Use a Registry utility to clean up your computer from traces (I use Glary Utilities)
    - Install Premiere Pro CC
    - Restart computer
    - Install Quicktime 7
    - Restart computer
    - Everything should be fine by now.
    =)
    Good luck!

  • .MOV files Media offline Line Premiere CC  - Any ideas. ?

    Hey all.
I am have a problem with .MOV files displaying in the premiere timeline.   The .MOV files were converted to that in the Go Pro software.
A/ I have just opened a project via a USB 3 raid drive. The project was created on a windows 7 machine running Premiere CC.
B/ Now I have opened it on a different newer windows 7 machine with more Ram and I7 compared to I5
C/ All of the .MOV footage is no longer displaying.  I have installed Quicktime on the machine and it makes no difference.
Any ideas what is stopping the footage displaying? .  It is showing Media Offline.  I checked and all of the footage is still in the same place on the raid drive.
Machine one  Windows 7 Now has a paid version of Full Premiere CC ( I can still open it on this old I5  Machine )
Machine Two Windows 7 Trial  version of Premiere CC   The footage was edited on the other machine while CC was in Trial version so,  I feel that is not the issue.
Any idea are appreciated, Am I missing a Codec ?
    Thank you for any input.

This was this Free codec that I needed.

The .MOV Go Pro Footage is now working.  It is now just the .MOV lower 3rds from Audio Jungle that are not displaying.

  • Error Message for "Media Pending" or "Media Offline"

    This is INCREDIBLY frustrating.
It is my job at a church to produce broadcast-quality segments for our local tv stations for 28 minute slots. I am working with HD-quality videos, bumpers, audio files, etc. It takes my PC about 30 minutes to render each segment and I work with about 4 segments a week. Add that up, and it takes me two straight hours to render each finished product (not counting any edit work), all which have to be done in a day because we broadcast most of the stuff that happens on Sunday the following Tuesday.
That said, I render the final product, after everything has been through quality-control, through encoder because of the FTP option. When I leave every Monday afternoon, I start the queue for the four segments, which, in turn, will spit out the product and FTP it to our server at the tv stations.
But when I come in Tuesday morning and find that AME has rendered four USELESS videos because, instead of informing me when I started the queue there was something wrong with fetching the video files, it decided to render some stupid stock frame of either, "Media Pending" or "Media Offline" - which makes ABSOLUTLY NO sense, for when I open premiere or after effects, it renders quite fine through AME. You can't sit here and tell me that the rendering software requires the project to be open in Premiere or AE. That would be counter productive and impossible for anyone batch-rendering.
Here is what I need: Just a simple, "Hello, there was something wrong with fetching all of the media files in your project (blank, blank, blank) - please check your project file."
    Thanks!
