Media Pack Service wont start

Hello all,
I am struggling with getting the streaming media service to start.  Fresh build of 2012 r2 after moving my existing content over to the appropriate pictures/music/videos folders that were created with the initial install.  I installed the
Media Pack.  The install went fine, but the Essentials Media Streaming Service will not start.  Find the relevant logs below, I cant figure out why it refuses to start.  Looking for some troubleshooting ideas.

Hi,
Regarding the current issue, please first make sure you have disabled the firewall on the machine. Then please check whether Windows Search service is running correctly. This issue may be caused
by the Windows Search service is not running. Please set the Windows Search service to Automatic, and Essentials Media Streaming Service to "Automatic (Delayed)", and the service will auto-start within 10 minutes, after first boot/reboot, and you'll then see
"Media" option in the Dashboard Settings.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards,
Andy Qi

  • Web Services wont start, please help

    Hello all,
I appologize up front but I dont really have a lot of experience with OSX server. So yesterday I got a report that my companied website was down. I went in to check the server and it wouldnt log in just got the pinwheel for about 10 minutes so we rebooted it (me and my IT staff). Upon reboot we could login and all seems well except that the web services wont start and our website is still down. when you try and start the service you get:
" A service has encountered and error, Try to refresh the view (172.18.180.15/Web). Report the problem to the administrator if it persists. (could not start web service - details in error log)."
but when you go to the log to see what is going on the last entry says:
    " [Thu Jan 15 14:47:27 2009] [error] [client 172.18.180.15] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/error.html "
that is about the time that the website appears to have gone offline... Also after navigating to the directory it says, there indeed is no error.html but all other files appear to be there. I have also used the terminal to read the last 100 lines of the error log file using tail -100 /var/log/httpd/error_log and get:

So im at a loss and any ideas would be much appricated. I know that earlier in the day one of our web people updated our website to add a calender using dreamweaver but dont know much about exactly what was done.
    Thanks again
    Troy Smith

Thanks for the responce. So it looks to me like the content of the webpage is all there , minus the error.html file. Its all located in Library/webserver/documents. I have gone there and am even able to bring up our webpage by launching index.html and it appears to work perfectly with no broken links. you just cant access it from the outside world.
here is the last bit of the access log:

  • Windows 2008 R2 - Error 2 Server Service wont start

    He
We tried to start the Server Service on windows 2008 R2 but it wont start error: 2. While we check the service dependency we are unable to see the "SMB 1 xxx Driver" instead it is having name SRV.
so how to restore the service back to the original state please let us know.

    Hi SPV4645,

  • Netboot service wont start up

My netboot service has being working perfectly but for some reason the service was truned off and now it wont start again....
I decided to use terminal to start the service instead of server admin.
    The response i get is:
    $ netboot:state = "STOPPED"
    $ netboot:status = 5000
the apple command line manual says "you have not yet enabled NetBoot on any network port."
What does mean and how do i reset this error to work?
    Pleas email repsonse!!

the apple command line manual says "you have not yet
enabled NetBoot on any network port."
You may of already done this but just in case I thought I'd point it out. This error suggests that you have not enabled Netboot on one of your ports. To do so, go to the NetBoot service, click on Settings and Enable one of the ports. i.e. Built in Ethernet.
Also, you need to make sure you are running NFS service and/or DHCP.
I had a similar problem and I think restarting may have helped sort it.
I don't mean to be patronising, just thought it might help

  • Problems with one of the front-end servers (service wont start)

    Hi,
Having a pool with two front-end servers (Lync Server 2013 on Windows Server 2012) and I cannot get one of servers to work properly.
The Front-End service is not starting.
Have removed both servers from the topology and installed one at the time. When adding the second server to the pool the service never starts, its in starting state and a bunch of error messages appears:
    - Server startup is being delayed because fabric pool manager is initializing.
Cause: This is normal when Pool is bootstrapped and indicates that the Front-End is waiting for a quorum of other Front-Ends to be started.
    - Pool Manager failed to connect to Fabric Pool Manager.
Cause: This could happen because insufficient number of Front-Ends are currently active in the Pool.
I have tried restarted one at the time, both at the same time...
    Reset-CsPoolRegistrarState -ResetType QuorumLossRecovery
    Reset-CsPoolRegistrarState -ResetType FullReset
I have also had a look at the kb saying that there could be a certificate issue. So I have ran that script but no certificate is misplaced in any store.
I have removed the front-end certificates and requested new ones from the internal CA, I have also done the same to the OAuth certificates.
    How to proceed?

    Hi there,
if you are still receiving, the same error, please try to shutdown the first Front-End Server, and give time for the services to start, however I would like also to add that with Lync server 2013 the Enterprise pool requirements is to have 3 Front-End Servers
in a pool instead of 2, because  of introducing the brick model  architecture.

  • Coldfusion 11 install successful but service wont start

I downloaded the latest coldfusion 64bit for windows yesterday, file ColdFusion_11_WWEJ_win64.exe, and it completed installation successfully on my windows 7 professional machine. The Cold Fusion Application Server service did not start and trying to start it via services results in a 1053 error immediately. There are no log files generated at this point.
I have tried installing 4 times with various options. I am using apache for the web server, which works fine with coldfusion 9. I tried the hotfix patch 4 for cf 11, which was mentioned in another post. It installed properly but had no effect. I also checked the xml file C:\ColdFusion11\cfusion\runtime\conf\context.xml to make sure that
<Manager pathname=""/> was not commented out (and it wasnt), which was mentioned in an adobe blog post.
Does anyone have any idea how to get the service running?

    thanks for reply
but my firewall is not on and the coldfusion server service
aint starting whiles the other two services(ODBC etc) are running
    smooth.
cant afford to mess up my internet connection settings cos

  • Quick Time streaming Service wont start on Server.

We are trying to set up quick time streaming and quick time broadcaster so that we can share our broadcasts within school live to other schools within our county.
we plan to use one machine to broadcast/capture the broadcast and the server to run quick time server and handle the access to the broadcast.
At the moment I have a laptop running quick time broadcast and a G4 tower running quick time streaming server (internet interface) which is working fine.
Ive tried now to get our server which is running 10.5.1 to run as my quick time streaming server. but whenever i click on start service under server admin i get the error
Service couldnt start because RTS port 554 is in use or being used by another service
service couldnt start because RTS port 7070 is in use or being used by another service
service couldnt start because RTS port 8554 is in use or being used by another service
service couldnt start because RTS port 8001 is in use or being used by another service
Service couldnt start because RTS port 80 is in use or being used by another service
and the service instantly then stops itself again. I prosumed this problem was due to my G4 also running quick time streaming server and using up the ports so i stopped the streaming service service on the G4 and turned the computer off but I received the same error again when i tried again later on
Does anyone have any idea what i can do to get streaming service running on m server,
    Thanks

I've seen conflicting reports on DSS on Lion. One post elsewhere here claimed that DSS won't work on Lion, but provided no details. This site claims that it does:
    http://www.networkjack.info/blog/2011/08/30/quicktime-streaming-on-lion-server/
All I can suggest is trying it. Or if it's not too late, you could return your Lion-based Mini and purchase a refurbished mini with Snow Leopard Server; Apple still lists it in the Apple Store's refurb section.
Broadcaster can send a stream directly to one or a very small number of clients, but depended on a relay through QTSS/DSS for serving a significant number of viewers. Apple never provided much in the way of documentation beyond the Help files in QTB, but if you do a web search, you'll find some tutorials. If you want something more robust and more fully supported, you might want to look into a third-party product like Wirecast:
    http://www.telestream.net/wire-cast/overview.htm

  • User profile synchronization service wont start after SharePoint Service pack SP2

    Hi
-Using SharePoint 2010 with 1 appserver and 2 frontend webservers on Service Pack2. (ms server 2008r2, SQLServer2008r2).
-Farmaccount has been set to local admin on all sp servers.
-Firstly, the User Profile Service Application runs fine and is started. Dont mix it with the User profile synchronization Service.
Prior to installing SP2 User profile service application and user profile synchronization service were running fine.
The first thing I did after the installation of SP2 was running the:
-psconfig -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -wait
    As SharePoint setup user (spadmin).
This ran fine on the 2 front end web servers.
However i got one fault on the Appserver:
    I have also tried:
PSConfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures
which led to same resulting error.
So I tried to start the Use profile synchronization service as suggested manually by logging on with the Farmaccount, starting the user profile synchronization service through Central Administration. This led to Stuck on Starting status.
The windows services Forefront had status starting, then stopped.
    One question:
Prior to starting the User profile synchronization service through Central Administration. What account and startup status should the 2 Forefront Windows Services have? (Automatic and local system?) or (Automatic and Farmaccount?) or (Disabled and Local
system?) or (Disabled and farmaccount?). Because i know that SharePoint UPA will provision these services though Central Administration. However what is the default state prior to starting the Synchronization service?
    So i continue...
Since it was stuck on starting i stopped it with:
    stop-SPServiceInstance -identity <upaSyncguid>
    which gave me:
Stop-SPServiceInstance : An object of the type Microsoft.SharePoint.Administrat
    ion.SPServiceInstanceJobDefinition named "job-service-instance-36bdf2ef-58f2-45
e5-8f78-ab75f646611a" already exists under the parent Microsoft.SharePoint.Admi
nistration.SPTimerService named "SPTimerV4". Rename your object or delete the
    and i could fix with:
    #Stop the stopping:
stsadm -o provisionservice -action stop -servicetype "Microsoft.Office.Server.Administration.ProfileSynchronizationService, Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles,
    Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" -servicename FIMSynchronizationService
I also removed the forefront certificate from personal - certificate store, as this is provisioned when user profile synchronization service is provisioned.
That set the Central Administration Status on the User profile synchronization Service to disabled. Fine.
Everytime i tried to start the user profile synchronization service (logged on as farmaccount), left it for 10-15 min and did iisreset and restart sharepoint timer service, and also tried rebooting the appserver. No change.
A thought, is it important to restart timer service and do iisreset on the two frontend servers after trying to start the user profile synchronization service on the appserver?
I'm getting to the point were i just want to delete the whole service application and set it up anew...
any tips will be greatly appreaciated.

You're very welcome, hope it helped, if not the I suggest you clear the configuration cache as follows.
The config cache is where config settings are stored locally on the Microsoft SharePoint server, so a SQL call isn’t required.
    To clear the cache:
Stop the SP Timer service. To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click
    Services.
Right-click SharePoint 2010 Timer, and then click Stop.
    Close the Services console.
On the computer that is running Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 and on which the Central Administration site is hosted, click
Start, click Run, type explorer, and then press ENTER.
In Windows Explorer, locate and then double-click the following folder:
    %SystemDrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\SharePoint\Config\GUID
    Notes
The %SystemDrive% system variable specifies the letter of the drive on which Windows is installed. By default, Windows is installed on drive C.
The GUID placeholder specifies the GUID folder. There may be more than one of these.
The ProgramData folder may be hidden. To view the hidden folder, follow these steps:
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
    Click the View tab.
In the Advanced settings list, click Show hidden files and folders under
Hidden files and folders, and then click OK.
You can also simply type this directly in the path if you do not want to show hidden files and folders.
Back up the Cache.ini file. (Make a copy of it. DO NOT DELETE THIS FILE, Only the XML files in the next step)
Delete all the XML configuration files in the GUID folder (DO NOTE DELETE THE FOLDER). Do this so that you can verify that the GUID folders content is replaced by new XML configuration files when the cache is rebuilt.
Note When you empty the configuration cache in the GUID folder, make sure that you
do NOT delete the GUID folder and the Cache.ini file that is located in the GUID folder.
    Double-click the Cache.ini file.
On the Edit menu, click Select All.
On the Edit menu, click Delete.
Type 1, and then click Save on the
File menu. (Basically when you are done, the only text in the config.ini file should be the number 1)
On the File menu, click Exit.
Start the Timer service. To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click
    Services.
Right-click SharePoint 2010 Timer, and then click Start.
    Close the Services console.
Note The file system cache is re-created after you perform this procedure. Make sure that you perform this procedure on all servers in the server farm.
Make sure that the Cache.ini file in the GUID folder now contains its previous value. For example, make sure that the value of the Cache.ini file is not 1.
Check in the GUID folder to make sure that the xml files are repopulating. This may take a bit of time.
    BRGS

  • Sql server service wont start after disabling TLS 1.0 and SSL 3.0 on windows

We have been hardening our servers for some time now and recently we disabled SSL 3.0 because of the poodle attack. When I did this on one of our test servers SQL Server failed to start up after the restart.
I have been able to reproduce this on Windows Server 2012 and Windows 7 by disabling TLS 1.0 and SSL 3.0 through the registry. I am using SQL Server 2012 on the server machine. On my windows 7 machine sql server 2012 and sql server 2005 will not start with
    those disabled.
These are the event log errors I get:
    Application Logs:
(28/10/2014 8:38:54 AM) SQL Server could not spawn FRunCM thread. Check the SQL Server error log and the Windows event logs for information about possible related problems.
(28/10/2014 8:38:54 AM) Could not start the network library because of an internal error in the network library. To determine the cause, review the errors immediately preceding this one in the error log.
(28/10/2014 8:38:54 AM) TDSSNIClient initialization failed with error 0x80090331, status code 0x1.
(28/10/2014 8:38:54 AM) TDSSNIClient initialization failed with error 0x80090331, status code 0x80.
    System Logs:
(28/10/2014 8:38:54 AM) The SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) service terminated with service-specific error %%-2146893007.
(28/10/2014 8:38:54 AM) A fatal error occurred while creating an SSL server credential. The internal error state is 10013.
Done anyone know have we can keep SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 disabled and get SQLServer server to start?

    Hi Don,
I already have TLS 1.0 Disabled to prevent the BEAST exploit. So the values I have for:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\TLS
    1.0\Server
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\TLS
    1.0\Client
Both have enabled set to ("Enabled"=dword:00000000).
If change both of these back to ("Enabled"=dword:00000001)
to enable TLS 1.0, and restart then SQLServer is able to start again. But we are now vulnerable to the BEAST attack once again.
If I keep server enabled and disable the client or vice versa and restart. Then SQLServer starts but I
am unable to connect to it. When I check the Event logs I get the same errors as my original past.
With your last post, do you mean to backup SCHANNEL and delete it so it gets recreated? If that is the case it will probably work because if I re enable SSL 3.0 or TLS 1.0 from here it fix's the issue,  but I then I won't have the exploits patched and
we need this for some of our customers.
    This is my SCHANNEL Export:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\SSL 2.0]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\SSL 2.0\Client]
    "DisabledByDefault"=dword:00000001
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\SSL 3.0]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\SSL 3.0\Client]
    "DisabledByDefault"=dword:00000001
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\SSL 3.0\Server]
    "Enabled"=dword:00000000
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\TLS 1.0]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\TLS 1.0\Client]
    "Enabled"=dword:00000000
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols\TLS 1.0\Server]
    "Enabled"=dword:00000000

  • MS Edge services wont start on exchange 2007 installation on a server 2008 r2 in a 2003 domain

    Hi
I had a previous installation of exchange 2007 vanilla that I had to delete because of some errors on the nic card in a 2003 exchange environnement migration preparation. I've build a brand new 2008 R2 and i'm trying to install a new exchange 2007 SP1. When
the service edge try to start it seems  that it doenst want to get install. I've disable IPV6 from the nic and still the same problem. Is there something that need to be removed in the AD because of my previous 2007 installation ?
    thanks

    Hi,
I find this for your reference:
I would install Exch 2007 with SP3 slipstrreamed.  The download for SP3 is the full installation of Exchange.  The fact that Exch 2007 with SP1 is not R2 compatible, you will run into problems.
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1687160b-634a-43cb-a65a-f355cff0afa6&displaylang=en
"Clean installations of Exchange 2007 SP3 on a new server are possible by using this download in the same manner as you would install Exchange 2007 RTM, Exchange 2007 SP1 or Exchange 2007 SP2.
More details in the following similar thread:

  • SQL Server Integration Service wont start.

If integration services doesnt come online where should we check, apart from Event viewer, SQL Server Error logs and SQL Server Agent logs??
The below error is what I see in Event viewer.
Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the SQL Server Integration Services service to connect.
The SQL Server Integration Services service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
This doesnt tell me the real problem.  The service account is Windows AD account. The other SQL Server services running under same account is up and running. Could you guys please help me in troubleshooting?

  • FE service cannot start after the update was done

    Hi,
We are installing lync 2013 standard Edition server on windows server 2008 R2.
Certificates are public ones and they are from Digicert.
We managed to go to step 3 (certificates part is ok).
We cannot start the FE service.
We tried everything regarding resetting fabric state, registrat  etc.
We made the update with the newest patch (February 2015).
    FE cannot be started:
    We still got the errors:
"Failed to sync data for Routing group {19F4D868-D0A1-53D8-BE89-1BFA7BDE645E} from backup store.
Cause: This may indicate a problem with connectivity to backup database or some unknown product issue.
    Resolution:"
"This process was not able to update its health status
The Audio-Video Conferencing Server failed to send health notifications to the MCU factory at.."
    and so on...
as could be seen under link: http://troubleshootinglync.blogspot.com/2014/03/lync-2013-front-end-service-wont-start.html
Any idea what could be wrong?

    Hi iron_folower,
You can follow the steps below to troubleshoot your problem:
    1. Install the Root Certificate and the Intermediate Certificate from Digicert.
    2. From:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/506821e2-d3fe-42bd-a6dc-daed6c5f0df6/the-audiovideo-conferencing-server-failed-to-send-health-notifications-to-the-mcu-factory-at?forum=ocsconferencing
Try to create the REG key:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL and create a dword entitled
Sendtrustedissuerlist with a hax value of 0.
    3. Reinstall the base OS features:
    Import-Module ServerManager
    Add-WindowsFeature Web-Dyn-Compression,desktop-experience,RSAT-ADDS,Web-Server,Web-Scripting-Tools,Web-Windows-Auth,Web-Asp-Net,Web-Log-Libraries,Web-Http-Tracing,Web-Stat-Compression,Web-Default-Doc,Web-ISAPI-Ext,Web-ISAPI-Filter,Web-Http-Errors,Web-Http-Logging,Web-Net-Ext,Web-Client-Auth,
