Media Reconnection Issues (search problems); 1 project file, two data sets

Ok, here goes folks!
We have:
Mac Pro, 6tb MaxxDigital RAID
MacBook Pro, 3x 1tb GRAIDs
The data on the Gtechs's is the same as the data on the Maxx tower- the file structure is different.
Whenever the project file is updated on the main MacPro it is moved via USB key to the macbook pro, at which time media needs to be reconnected (to the graids).
Recently the search in a single location feature had not been working in the reconnect dialog- we select the drive (any of the three) and are given the nope tone. This is a huge project- long form doc with 30+ hours of footage. It is killing us having to manually specify each folder in the drive depending on the file. Previously just selecting the root drive would start the search and all would be well.
Here are my questions:
Is there something we can do to restore the reconnect search functionality?
Could we alleviate this by getting a large enough SATA raid and express card adapter to make an exact copy of the main Maxx Raid? Would it be easier to reconnect?
Can anyone offer any workflow tips for our situation?
Generally I am over on the main box doing composites, graphics, spit and polish, etc, while the Director is on the MBP roughing segments. Soon we will be moving to me doing spit and polish on the MBP and color grading on the main box.
I hope there is enough information here for anyone with advice to offer, please dont hesitate to ask for more info if needed. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing what you guys think.

'Out Of Memory' issue and over large Project File...

Hi everyone, my issue is a common one but yet to find out reasons why after trying many suggestions.
I am working in Final Cut Pro 6 on an edit 35 minutes long. It's a holiday video edit of a snowboarding trip filmed on GoPro HD and a small handy Sony Handycam. All rushes are transcoded to ProRess 422. I have cut the edit and doing the final touches with the colour using Synthetic Appertures Color Finesse 3. My project file starts off at a mere 17MB before colour grading/correction from what I can tell seems pretty normal. By the time I get to around half way my Project ile has increased greatly to over 70MB, FCP becomes slow and unstable then I start to get crashes and reloads of the project take around 15 minutes or more to open. This seems quite a jump to me once grading starts?
Originally I did have around 6 sequences of footage (one for each day of shooting on holiday) where each contained all the usable clips I could possibly use for the edit. Then a Master sequence where I would paste my desired clips to for trimming and editing to music. (all music in AIFF)
I have deleted all folders in the browser that arent in use now and the only sequence I have now is the master, nothing else at all! No Motion graphics but some text at the start of the edit, nothing animated. No stills, but I do have some freeze frames but I'd say no maore than 20 over the whole 35 minutes. I have deleted unused render files and trashed preferences.
I did see somewhere that someone suggested splitting the edit in to two different projects? There wasnt a clear explanation of this.

I have already successfully rendered 20 minutes of the project with no issues. As the project file has increased it has become troublesome. Beach balling when pasting the colour finesse attributes to my next clip for instance.
When I attempt to render now its instantly fails with a "Out Of Memory" error and eventually crashes FCP.

Problem Delivering Project Files to Client

Anytime I back up my project files for this particular DVD it cannot be opened on another computer. I've burned the project file, all media, all menu graphics, and the .txt files for the subtitles on to a DVD. When another computer besides the one the DVD was authored on tries to open the project it gets stuck on "Loading Tracks."
What could this be?
Every so often I am also unable to open the file, and I think its getting corrupted somehow. Please help.
EDIT: I realize I forgot to delete the PAR and MPEG folders that DVD SP creates and also burned those onto the client's DVD. Would this contribute to them not being able to open it?

Thanks for replying Aldershot. I am running OS 10.4.3, DVD SP 4.0.2 with 2.5 GB RAM on a Dual 2.0 G5. The project has been saved on external firewire (with ~15 GB free) as well as a duplicate on the system drive (~85 GB free). None of them open after I save it and quit. During save I get the beach ball, but eventually it comes back to normal and I can use the app as normal.
I have read that there may be an issue with the ObjectDataB file (found within the project package Contents folder). See the link below for a description of this diagnosis.

Here's some more info if you think it will help you diagnose. I got a project file and associated media on a data DVD-R to start with. Moved everything to my External drive and made numerous changes to the project file. Saved a copy with a new file name. There are 2 tracks (one 6 mins, the other 30 mins), and they each have 16 subtitle tracks. This is honestly where I think the problem lies, but I don't understand why DVDSP can't handle that many tracks. I notice it takes longer to save as I progressively import the subtitles.

AE to Media Encoder slows when rendering multiple project files

So I'm trying to load in a bunch of compositions from various project files into Media encoder to render over night. I've noticed the first couple of projects render pretty quickly then it starts to bog down a lot. I mean very slowly chugging along through the renders. Is this a memory cache issue??? Any way to fix this? Is there a way I can clear the memory after a render finishes and before it moves on to the next?

Based on this, my suggestion is to open Adobe Media Encoder once, give it plenty of time to start because of this Mac OS bug, and then try again. My guess is that it'll work fine after that.

Problem runing project on two machines

I have been developing a uiXML based BIBeans application on my laptop. Another developer wants to run it on his machine. He takes all of my project files within my project directory and tries to run them in JDeveloper. He can open things fine but the presentations never have data. Both machines are running local versions of the same database, the same versions of all Oracle software. Both can connect to their respective database through the BIDesigner.
Is there something special we have to do to get a project to work on a different machine than it was developed on?

the only thing i would be aware of is the conenction information for the database: ie for the catalog/olap server settings
so if you have a war/ear file for your app set up and deploy it to another machine, you would have to change those XXXdesigner settings

LIST_FROM_MEMORY - Excel File - Open data set

A long time ago I asked people here how to convert a submit program to html and using open/transfer/close data set altoghter. I got a lot of help for that and I am greatful.
However, I may need to try something and would like to ask how does this apply when you want to transfer <b>LIST_FROM_MEMORY -> Excel File -> Open/transfer/close data set</b>leading it to be saved to the application server.

After Effects CS 11.0.4.2: Problem loading project file (error loading plugins etc.)

Hello Adobe community,
after creating a new project a few days ago, my After Effects CS6 v.11.0.4 has a problem with opening the project. Only this project can't open (everything else opens).
I atteched some pictures to explain my problem better.
I created a video in AE and used the warp stabilization. Ater 2 days i wanted to work on the project. If i open it up it loads and brings up a problem window. (see picture 1)
It says "After Effects Problem: After Effects crashed while opening the Effect-Plugin 'warp stabilization'".
By clicking "Ok", another problem window opens up. (see picture 2)
It says "After Effects Problem: After Effects crashed while opening the Effect-Plugin 'auto color'".
If i click "Ok", the next window comes up. (see picture 3)
It says "Cash at Processing. Latest protocolled Notification: <6796> <ae.blitpipe> <2> Making New Context"
After clicking OK again, it says i can save a copy of the project. (picture 4)
This pops up after saving. (picture 5)
After that AE cloeses.
If i open up the new projectfile, it brings up this problem. (see picture 6)
---> "After Effects Problem: Missing Data in file"
But sometimes it says "No valid file-type"
What can i do? Every other project with warp stabilization opens up.
Does this mean i have to start from the beginning?
Is this problem known by anyone of the community?

Can you import that problematic project into a brand new one?
If you enable caps lock before opening the problematic project, does it open?

Can I do this in FCP? Storage and media reconnection issue

I shoot on a AVCHD camera and copy the folder structure from the cameras into an external hard drive. When I create a FCP project, I ingest the footage through Log and transfer into ProRes (LT). When I complete my project, I store the entire project onto another external hard drive. My ProRes files are pretty big and I have multiple files per project, around 300 GB. When I am done with the FCP project, can I delete the 50Gb ProRes (LT)files, BUT, if I need to get back in there and re-edit something at a later date, if I re-ingest the AVCHD folders into the FCE project, will FCP put everything back into place?

Yes.
I might add that, for this to work you just have to make sure that you have mounted the necessary folders in L&T before you attempt the Batch Capture to reconnect. It won't destroy anything if you don't, but it won't work unless they are previously mounted.

File Share Search problem with Compress file

I have a content source in SharePoint 2013 search which crawl files from a file share. Some of the files have "Compress contents to save disk" attribute set to true.
These files are being crawled as I can see them in Crawl logs. But when I search for these documents in search center, it only return the documents which don't have compression attribute set. I have even tried searching document title. Any idea?

What keyword did you use for searching the compressed file?
As your description, I set a file as the below:
Then I created a File Share content source pointed to the folder which contains the file, then start a full crawl.
After crawling, I went to my search center, and searched, the result was:
When you search the compressed file, check whether the item title returns a part of the content of the document.

Media encoder will not encode my project files

My CS4 Adobe Media Encoder will not start encodeing it goes any where from 0:04- 0:17 elapsed time then stopes and does nothing. I have also tried to update it t the latest version but the update wont install, I download it fine and it loads to where the green bars almost hit the end then they flash to 0% and work there wayback up faster and this is repeated continuously till I stop it. I am running a trial version of Adobe CS4 Master collection.

Problem in Flat file transaction data loading to BI7

I am new to BI7, got problem in activating data source for transaction data and create transfer routine to calculate sales revenue which is not there in flat file but flat file has got price per unit and quantity sold.
Flat file fields are:

When i created IO_QTY, unit/curency was given as 0UNIT. In creation of DS, under fields tab, extra field CS was shown I did confuse to which object should i map it. and at the same time when i enter IO_QTY its prompting one dailogbox with 0UNIT, so i said ok. Now i can't map CS to unit as system created automatic ally 0UNIT when i enter IO_QTY. Could you please give me solution for this and procedure to enter formulae for calculating Sales revenue at this level instead of query level. Your solutions will be more appreciated with points.

What have you tried so far?
Have you tried using the Selective Track Import (STI) feature in Logic to try and recover most if not all the tracks from such a project? (assuming the project is actually readable...)

HELP - Export Files from Data Set into Excel (CSV File)

Hello,
I was hoping someone could help me with adobe forms since this is the first time we have used this function at my work. We created an enrollment form, posted it online and 700 employees completed the form (with the submit button it came back to my email). I received all the forms and added them to the dataset in adobe. Now that my forms are complete, I have tried several options to export them into a csv file and it is not working properly. When I use the export button it only brings over 125 of the 700. If I export by clicking on forms>manage form data>merge files into a spreadsheet it brings them all over but is moving my information on some of the rows. For example, some names will be in the name column, some are under social security, etc. I need the exact answer under the appropriate column becuase I can't tell which plan employees chose. I would really appreciate if someone could help. I have searched and searched for the reason this is doing this but I can't seem to locate an answer. Is there another step that I'm missing? Does anyone know why my rows are shifting? We tried to test this before we used it and it seemed to work fine but we only used 5 files. Please Please Please Help Me! This enrollment file is due by tomorrow!

External file as data set

In our Cognos environment users are able to use a .csv in a picklist to filter a report. i.e. return data for only those account numbers contained in the .csv. Using Rich Client I've attempted to merge dimensions with no luck. Is there any way to do this using Webi/Rich Client?

was able to resolve based on previous post. Needed to change 'acct number' field in external document from 'measure' to 'dimension' . Merged dimensions with universe based query and returned the needed data.
