Media Transfer

Is there a way to transfer your music and videos from your itouch to your computer? Ive had practically every ipod out there and I was able to do it and now with the touch I cant! Is there a way to do it because i deleted more than half my songs on my pc.

  • Wireless file/media transfer to/from Xperia Z3 to/from PC/Mac

What is the easiest way you would recommend for file/media transfer to/from Xperia Z3 to/from PC/Mac wirelessly?

    Perhaps bluetooth

  • X6_32GB-Media Transfer Problem

when i connected my X6 to PC in Media Transfer Mode, The green arrow icon(Safely Remove Hardware) in taskbar showing many times 'Found New Device'..and the USB symbol in my X6 juz keep blinking/flashing..Help????
Faster coz Comes With Music must activate within 2 months..

Thanks for the reply, Jimmy but I have always save the mp3s into phone memo (C: Phone Memory). Do you have any other idea why this is happening?
I found out something new today. If it was a call by unknown person which are not in my Contact list, the ringing tone is the mp3 (although it only happened once, so I'm not sure if this is the case). However if the caller is from my contact (which contains image), the ringing tone is default.
Any idea how to solve this problem?

  • No Media Transfer Protocol ("MTP") on Clip Jam ? Coming soon?

I notice that my new Clip Jam doesn't seem to support the 'MTP' (Media Transfer Protocol) - whereas I believe older Clip models used to ? Is this something that will be introduced by a Firmware Upgrade at some point ? My current Firmware is '1.03' which I believe is the latest at the time of writing [July 2015]. Cheers John

No, the clip jam and sport are MSC only devices. MTP is not supported and cannot be added in FW. it is a hardware limitation.

i dont have a solution, but i have a path for you to follow. this is not a simple fix, but rather a place to look for ways to fix it. it is similar in nature to modifying an iSync plugin in order to make iSync work (back before nokia did this for you)
    1. right-click (or ctrl-click) the Nokia Multimedia Transfer.app package (the application icon itself)
    2. choose 'Show Contents'
    3. Contents->Resources->Profiles
    4. open up the file n95.profile in 'Property List Editor'
note: i think this came with the developer tools? i'm sure you can find it somewhere, it's an apple app
in my version of this file i see Root->profiles->0->profileName = n95_v1
in your shoes i'd try modifying this file. you likely can create an copy of Root->profiles->0 and call it Root->profiles->1
then just change the version to n95_v2 or v3 or whatever.
you may have to change more in this file, or more files. i dont have an n95_v2 or v3 to play with.
do this and succeed, and you'll have made quite a few ppl happy, including yourself
    good luck and happy hacking!
    N95-1 ---> N97-NAM ---> N900 ---> E7-00 + N900 (I use them both)
(N95 was pretty good, N97 had potential but utterly failed to deliver, N900 is absurdly good. Those of you wondering, "should I try N900/Maemo/MeeGo"? The answer is a resounding YES)

  • Mac Media Transfer Error 208

    Hello,
I just got an N95 which I have updated to the latest firmware. I have a 2GB SanDisk card inside.
I've used the Mac Media Transfer software to browse my device and copy to iPhoto.
Things get strange when using the music sync. It's worked on only a couple of occassions. Most of the time it thinks about it 'preparing to transfer' and then stops with an error 208!!
I was wondering what this meant?
If there is no memory card it will sync fine so I think it may be the card.
I've formated the memory card and Nokia Maps runs fine from it.
I keep all my media on an external hard disk but iTunes has no problem playing from here and the n95 transfers to iPhoto fine through this.
    I've got an iBook G4 Mac OS X 10.4.10 (8R218)
    N95-1 firmware 12.0.013
    Any ideas??

Sounds like a bad file that's being hit by the transcoding process, but not without the memory card because the file wouldn't fit on the device in that case.
I can suggest you to upgrade to NMT 1.3 Beta(if you are using old version) otherwise you have to try finding the bad file.
Start tranfer with 1 file, then add more and more until it breaks again.

  • Appropriate media transfer for mac app wont open o...

Nokia media transfer application for "mac osx 10.4.11 and later" cannot be opened. My OSX 10.4.11 will not allow me to open the downloaded app. claiming I "cannot use this application with this version of MAC OS X" although it is supposedly adequate. Please help! My phone is a N85

I now have the 1.3 version, for some reason the USB connection cant find the device which is strange as it is a new cable, and it does charge my phone.
Anyway I am trying to transfer my photos using bluetooth, but i-photo says the files on my mobile are unreadable.
Any ideas as to what is going on?

It'll be a big help. I need the computer read my device. Suddenly it wasnt able to detect it. The usb cord in using are all good.

To solve the issue, open Device Manager on your computer to reinstall the driver for your device while your device is connected with your PC via a USB cable.

    Click on the Start button.
In the Search box, type device manager, and then press enter.
    Microsoft Windows 8 users

Click the Desktop Tile to open the Desktop.
Click >> at the bottom right of the taskbar.
Select Control Panel from the Menu.
Select Device Manager from the list of control panel items.
Note: If you do not see the screen with the Device Manager option, click the View by drop-down menu and select Small icons.
Microsoft Windows XP and 2000 users
To open Device manager on your computer
On the desktop, right-click on My Computer and click Properties.
In the System Properties window, click the Hardware tab.
In the Hardware, tab click the Device Manager button.
To reinstall the drivers for your device
Scroll down to the Universal Serial Bus controllers (USB section) of the Device Manager window.
Look for an MTP Device: Media Device, Unknown Device or any other reference to your phone. Click on this entry and choose "Uninstall" whilst leaving the device connected.

  • Media Transfer 1.41 deletes all music files

When i updated media transfer to 1.41 this problem apeared:
it first deletes all music files on the phone before it syncs them.
If i sync one mp3 file it takes 1-2 hours for media sync to first delete all files ant then copy all files to the phone.
(I have over 4gig of music on my memory card.)
I did not have this problem with the 1.4 version.

I have a few comments/bug reports (I have also submitted these through the app).
    BUGS:
    1. The app seems to force conversion of perfectly normal AAC files created in iTunes (.m4a). The files are converted to... AAC!!!
There is no need for this conversion as the files play fine on the phone (N95)
Both files created with iTunes standard ACC settings and with a custom VBR settings are converted.
MP3 files are transferred without conversion.
    2. Bookmarked AAC files (.m4b) are not converted or transferred (they are ignored) - many podcasts use this format and they play fine in iTunes and QuickTime.
(Edit - it seems iTunes and OS X treat these files as protected, even though they are not - also the N95 will not play the files if copied without conversion).
    FEATURE/ENHANCEMENT REQUESTS:
    1. User prefence for caching - I have a 4GB memory card and may not be interested in having everything on it cached on my computer. When using USB2 the connection should be fast enough for viewing/streaming from the phone.
    2. The viewing in the browser is a bit confusing - when e.g. the memory card is selected it shows a lot of different files from different folders (I have TOMTOM maps on the card so a lot of useless files are showing) It would be nice to either be able to select which files are shown, or just make the browser work normally, so it is only showing files in the current folder (selecting the memory card would show the root folder).
    3. Options for conversions (e.g. "Do not convert files with a bitrate below xxx kbps").
I look forward to the next version - if the 2 bugs are fixed this is already a very solid app.
Great to see real OS X support.Message Edited by peter321 on 09-Jun-200707:31 PM

  • Media transfer apps for n900

there.....does any one knows media transfer apps...for n900
the bluetooth transfer is very slow...
i mean apps like superbeam or data cable....????

    cpitchford wrote:
I really miss it.. it was actually really good on phones that supported it well.. the n97 did not support it well..
nice for maps applications, turn the phone and the map rotates..
I'm really hoping the first meego device has one, like the N8 does/will
and more importantly, I hope it is actually supported by the ovi maps for meego..
and even more importantly, I hope ovi maps for meego doesn't suck..
    I'm asking a lot, I know
    yeah,,,,,A LOT!!!  lol.
i feel pretty confident, since it is a joint effort for intel and nokia, that meego should be much more focal and developed.  so maybe,  just maybe,   they may even get ovi suite to work too!!!

  • Media transfer from LG enV2 to smartphone

When I activate my new Samsung Galaxy S5, will all my media transfer from my old LG enV2? I know I have my contacts backed up and ready to transfer, but I am afraid that all my photos will just disappear. It has been very difficult to find a clear answer to this question on the Verizon website.

Congrats on your new Galaxy S5 MarshaLa! That is an awesome device! While you can only transfer contacts from your LG enV2 to your new phone. You enV2 has expandable memory capabilities and if you have (or you can buy) an SD memory card you can transfer your pictures to teh SD card and then to your new phone. http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-20201/

  • No Mass Storage/Media Transfer for OS X users...

Yesterday i purchased Nokia 808 PureView
I'm really happy to have this piece of pure technology everyday ( from now on) with me
But i am OS X user. And guess what? My 808 with Belle FP1 won't connect to my mac mini in mass storage or media transfer modes.
When i try to connect in mass storage phone becomes unresponsive ( removing battery is the only fix i know at the moment to reboot it ) Is there any other way i can reboot Nokia 808?
    in media transfer nothing happens..
In windows 7 i did not experience this issues even though i launch it on the same mac
Screenshot with info about my system is attached.
P.S. I hope Media Transfer will work again on OS X soon
With Nokia N8, X7, 700 or 603 on Belle i did not have any troubles with mass storage mode on my mac mini.
    Solved!

    UPDATE:
After installing double twist... i did exactly as described in those steps to get playlists synced.
Opened Itunes + Doubletwist and then connected in mass storage. And disks immediately appeared.
Then i tried to connect the phone without Doubletwist + itunes launched.
Each time It tooks 10 to 15 seconds for disks to appear in the system. Phone laggs while connecting to mac. But disks do appear after some time.
Now from 5 attempts i have mass storage 5 times.
Thank you for your time For me issue is solved.
