MediaSource 5 and Muvo2

I have recently installed MediaSource 5 for?our 2 new?Zen Vision W's. I'm trying to get our Muvo2 4GB players to show up in it so that we can manage all in one program. I downlaoded the "Creative MuVo? plugin .0.05 for Creative MediaSource [size="" color="#222222">(9.76 MB) " dated "[size="" color="#222222">6 Sep 05 "; when I tried to download it, it said I needed to have MediaSource version 3.20 or greater to install (I've only got version 5.0.25... I have prediously used RedChair software's Notmad product to manage the music on the Muvo2's, and that still works; I just wanted to try to use the same program, and had only used Notmad when the Creative software at the time kept hanging on transfers... Can anyone help?

No I did not install those two updates. Without reading the detail for those files, I didn't realize they were necessary, especially since I never opted to install PlaysForSure on the Micro.
Thanks to your reply, I have installed those two updates and the ZVM is recognized fine.
It is interesting that MediaSource 5.0.38 that does not have the PlaysForSure plugin installed will not recognize a Micro that has not been upgraded to PlaysForSure either. I can also confirm that the Micro will not be recognized even after installing the PlaysForSure plugin for MediaSource, which is what Creative indicates will happen. I will probably go ahead and upgrade the Micro's firmware to PlaysForSure. I'll lose a little disk space, but at least it will use the same software.
Thanks!

  • Conflict between MediaSource Organizer and ZM Media Explorer when ripping tra

I don't know if this is a known problem or not but I am hoping someone can explain what I am seeing here.
I have both MediaSource Organizer and ZM Media Explorer set to rip CD tracks at 60% quality with a Variable Bit Rate. If I rip tracks using MediaSource Organizer, it shows the tracks have a Bitrate that is indeed variable. However, if I rip the same tracks using ZM Media Explorer, the Bitrate displayed by MediaSource Organizer is always 60000. When I view the mp3 files using Windows Explorer, both files are exactly the same size which would imply that they are both being encoded as requested.
Could it simply be a problem of displaying the correct bitrate when tracks are recorded with ZM Media Explorer?
Thank you for any help you can provide!
    John

micromouse, You are correct that MediaSource does not actually display anything indicating the file is recorded with VBR. I made that determination by examining multiple tracks where I then saw different bit rates as expected. Obviously, if I were recording with CBR, the bit rates of all files would be the same.
Let me try to explain the problem a little differently.
If I set MediaSource to rip tracks from a CD with "VBR, 60%" quality and then use MediaSource to rip 0 tracks from a CD, the bit rate displayed when I view the PC Library in MediaSource shows that each track has a different bit rate as expected. There is no problem here.
However, if I set Media Explorer to rip tracks from a CD with "VBR, 60%" quality and then rip the same 0 tracks from the CD, the bit rate displayed when I view the PC Library in MediaSource shows that every track has the same bit rate of 60000. I believe this represents a problem.
Now after using EncSpot to view the details of the mp3 files as previously suggested by another board member, I verified that the same track ripped by each program (MediaSource and Media Explorer) has the same characteristics although there is a slight difference in file size by a few bytes.
I hope this helps to better explain what I am seeing.
    Thanks, John

  • Creative MediaSource 5 and Roxio Creator 2009 Incompatabilit

    Hi,
I would just like to bring to your attention what appears to be a program incompatability between one of the Roxio 2009 Creator Suite applications and Creai've MediaSource 5.
When the end-user installs the suite, and updates, and reboots, if the user were then to launch Creative MediaSource 5, it will launch the Windows Installer and begin configuring CinePlayer and ask for the install media.
This will happen everytime the application is launched.
If you require any further information for diagnostics purposes, please let me know.
    Andrew.

I?have both?Roxio Creator Suite 2009 ultimate version ..0 build B0E and Mediasource 5.20.23 on my PC (XP SP3) and do not observe that. Mediasource organiser or player open normally, no windows installer launch. Roxio Cineplayer works normally, as do all other parts of the suite.
However, I have not (yet) had?any updates to creator 2009 offered, so maybe that update you mention?is what causes the problem in your case. On the Roxio boards, some report getting offered an update, others not. You could check out there, see if anyone has similar problem, or post there.

  • MediaSource Organiser and Player not work

I have just installed my Audigy 2 ZS and all the software and the updates on Windows XP Pro SP2.
    Firstly - MediaSource Organiser
I cannot create a music library. The program says it is due to a corrupt MS Jet4 install - I have installed SP8 for MS Jet4 and it works fine with my VB6 VB.NET and other programming languages. Organiser can play CD's and rip the tracks to disk but cannot get info on the CD or play the MP3 files back. It crashes.
Secondly - MediaSource Player crashes whenever I try to play the MP3 or wave files on my system.
Both give the following error -
    AppName: ctcms.exe AppVer: 2.2.5.0 ModName: ctmycomp.dco
    ModVer: 2.0..0 Offset: 0000afe0
"Referenced memory 0x00000008 could not be read."
    WinAmp works fine.
Window Media Player 0 works fine
    iPod iTunes works fine.
I don't mind using software that works and can do with our Creative Software but it is a frustrating problem.
    Regards,
    Anthony

  • MediaSource 5 and multimonitor

    hi
hope some softwareengineers will read this. The full Mediasource 5 software doesn't run capable on multimonitoring systems. A lot of operations doesn't work on extended coordinate. Its not very seasonably violating multimonitoring in modern software.

  • MediaSource 5 and ZVM Detect

I downloaded the just released MediaSource 5 software and I cannot get it to recognize my ZVM or my Zen Micro. Anybody else having this problem? Did you eventually get the player recognized, if so, how?
I have Media Explorer for each player, and it recognizes both just fine.
    Thanks,

  • Creative Mediasource 5 and 24bit flac

I cannot get 24bit flac files to play with Mediasource 5 ver 5.26.02
I have previously downloaded flacs from the same site and regularly make my own. Media source has no problem with these. My own flacs are made from 16bit CDROMs using Exact Audio Copy and the latest Flac encoder (I buy and keep the CDs as backups and use the flacs to play music.)
I suspect the problem is the 24 bit Flacs as they have a far higher bit rate. Typically around 1750kbps as opposed to under a 1000kbps in my home made and other flac files.
The files are not corrupt as Win7 Media Player and Foobar2000 plays them fine!!
Anyone know what is wrong with Mediasource 5 Organiser / Player?

    Bump!!

  • Trouble with mediasource mixer and equali

I have tried to start the mixer and equalizer and get the following messege "unable to change sound device to your selected device." All was working just fine yesterday. Also, I was unable to configure the speaker setup. I had to go to the audio setup and change the speaker setup from desktop to 5.. For some reason it reverted back to desktop.
    I have an Audigy 2ZS.

Yes, just checked the Presonus release notes for Universal Control 1.7.2 (the latest), and it has removed support for Snow Leopard (OSX10.6.8), so that may be a possible source of the problem - might be worth contacting Presonus Tech support to confirm.
You could update your OSX, but I'd be a bit careful there - not sure if Mavericks supports Logic 8.  If not, I believe there are places where you can still get hold of Mountain Lion (which is supported by UC1.7.2) - a quick net search should do the trick.
Also, I've just re-read your post and notice you ask about the start up order.  The Presonus manual says to switch the desk on first, then fire up the computer.  This used to work with me, but I've recently updated to a new Macbook Pro and had to start using a firewire to thunderbolt connector, and I found that I could now only get the Studiolive to show up in Logic if I start the computer first, then fire up the desk then open Logic.  I raised a tech support ticket with Presonus and they were baffled by this, and couldn't see any reason why it should be, but nonetheless, it's the only way it'll work for me, so probably worth giving it a shot.

  • Muvo2 fm and muvo2

Does the muvo2 fm 5gb nad the muvo2 4gb work with apple' s macintosh?

You'll have to convert the tracks. There are various methods, one of which is described here in the Nomadness.net forum. The picture links are broken now, but it should be clear what you need to do.

  • MediaSource and Playli

    Hello,
is there a way to sort the items of a playlist in MediaSource? If i want to update a playlist (-> add/remove songs) it's very hard to know if a song is already in the playlist becuase the songs are ordered by time and not - for example - the band name. If I remember correct this ordering is also used in the player (for me it's a ZenTouch) that makes it even harder to find a certain song in the playlist because of you can't go to the band and then search there for a song. You have to search the entire list.
What I want to say is, that, when I click on the name of a column in the players media library it is orderd for that column but that doesn't work in a playlist. It annoyes me because of it happens that I add a song two times in a playlist or can't find it later on the player in the list. I reinstalled the MediaSource softwar recently so I don't think it is because of a installation failure.
It would be nice to have this function (especially so I wouldn't have to recreate a playlist from the bottom when I want to do some bigger changes).

  • Downloading and installing Mediasource off the internet

how do you download and install creative mediasource? my cd-dri've is broken and cant use the installation cds that came with my zen vision m 30gb player. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Just go to the downloads section of the web site, download the mediasource file and the appropriate plug in file to a folder on your computer. Double click on the mediasource installation file and follow the directions. You will need your player connected to your computer for the mediasource software to install. Once the mediasource software is installed you need to also install the appropriate mediasource plug in for your player. If you don't install the plug in media source won't see your player. It is really quite easy.

  • Zen Micro and MediaSource sync prob

Lately my computer was re-imaged due to a virus and I did not have the chance to back up my music. I installed the software using the installation cd which came with the Micro. I tried to syncronise my computer with the player so that I would have all of my songs back on my computer as well as my zen. I used the audiosync tool in mediasource organizer and the first 5 songs in alphabetical order were transferred into "My Music" successfully with sizes ranging between 3 and 5 megabytes, but the following 700 or so transferred into the folder merely as icons with size: 0 bytes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
