MediaSource 5 & Neo:6 HATE C

I have downloaded?and installed both MS5 and?its NEO6 plugin. I?own the eXtremeMusic and I have to say neo:6 surround was better off with media source 3. Now, when I enable neo:6? it automatically triggers off the CMSS-3Dsurround... well, I though this?wouldn't ?bother me until I noticed it hasn't switch CMSS back on when I quit the application.thus, I always have to remember to switch the cmss back on when im done using media source. THIS SUX!media source 3 dont "care" for cmss configuration as it simply overriding it. is there any possible way to remove the hassle and annoyance from ver 5 ?anyway it was pretty expectable,?CL are very likey to screw their own software instead of improving it. :angry:Message Edited by applejack on 2-22-20060:0 PM

• I HATE CREATIVE MEDIASOURCE SOFTWARE

hi guys,
i just got my Zen Xtra and i'm not familiar with it yet. anyway, i was just trying out Creative's software and i randomly put quite a lot of mp3s in PC Media folder first and then to my Zen. i found out a lot of my ID3 tags weren't organised which couses a big problem to figure out what's playing on the Zen. i deleted everything from my Zen, edited all ID3 tags, deleted all mp3s in PC media folder and exidently checked out "delete from My Computer" box (i was assuming that PC Media folder copied all mp3s to another temp folder). What a mistake!!
this f#$%^ng software deleted a bunch of mp3s from my hard disc. forever! i couldn't rescue them even with Norton undelete software.
that's the most stupid thing ever happened to me in 2 years acti've usage of computers.
i'm so sad... should i sue Creative?
w!

Websitey, I think you yourself is to be blamed. This is the first time I saw a user reporting in forum that he has deleted his audio files while deleting the tracks from PC Music Library.
Firstly, you need to be aware that it is called PC Music Library, and not PC Media Folder. Being a "library", it merely contains links to the actual audio files. The audio files are not duplicated into some temp folders, as you have thought. Otherwise, you will need twice the hard disk size to store your files.
Secondly, the checkbox to delete the audio files from My Computer is not selected by default. This means that most (if not all) of the time, users are unlikely that they will want to select the checkbox. You have selected the checkbox yourself. If you did not accept the default option, you better be aware of what you are doing. If not sure, stick to default, or experiement with one or two files first.
Thirdly, I really think that it is you own fault that have not understood how a "library" works. All the libraries of media player in the world today work by linking the library database to the actual audio files. It is not only MediaSource that implement library in this way. Even if you delete tracks from Windows Media Player, you will also be given the option to delete the file from your computer.

• I hate my Neo 2 Platinium

On an average of every third time i't hangs on boot either when showing the Bios image or during windows boot about 5 seconds before the keboard lights are supposed to flash. This morning I had to reboot 4 times before I got it up and running. However, once I get into window it's totally stable.
About once a week the USB printer stops to work. When this happens I have to disconnect the USB device, pull out the USB plug and then insert it again. This is a pain as all people at home print trough my computer.
Tried to update the Bios in hope it would help. After doing so the RAID no longer worked and I had to buy $200 software to recover the data and get it up and running again.
I just want a computer that works, I'm not interested in having to spend hours fiddling with settings and hardware.
I would trow this card in the dustbin straight away if it where not for the fact that I not only would need a new mobo(the cost for this is no problem) but I would also  need to buy one more HD and make to make a backup of the data on the RAID as well as invest several days more on reinstalling.

Knowing how to go about fixing things is a big key to success. Having a great resource for help like this forum provides is even better.
At the end of the day going in to this with the proper attitude will make things go much smoother. Whether it is building fixing or asking for help. That is all I was trying to point out. We are here to work together because we enjoy this kind of stuff. If someone does not enjoy the challenge then there is always someone that will build it for you and charge you for that privaledge.
I agree 100% BUT i have something to add here.
I hope this post dose not get killed as I think more people should speak out.
I don’t want to bash any person or comment made here but I feel a few things need to be said.
I have been building computers for personal use and for customers for many years. I have been around computers and in the computer industry for over 10 years(and i still keep learning new thing). I have built all my own computers right from 386’s up until my current machines. I have used many different HDD technologies (MFM, IDE, SCSI and SATA, and many different HDD controllers. I have also used properly hundreds of different motherboards, RAM etc. I have also been overclocking for many, many years and used many different CPUs.
All this being said I have never in my life had a motherboard with more issues and more difficult to get stable than the K8N Neo2 Platinum.
I understand that these fourms are to help people solve problems and get things working, but I see to many posts from people telling others they must just be satisfied with work around’s (try BIOS, don’t use a PS/2 mouse, don’t overclock etc.).
If a motherboard has a PS/2 port on it, it should work full stop. The USB ports should not lose devises or hang on boot up. I still have the problem where my mouse dose not get detected my windows and I have to unplug it and then plug it in again on another USB port and or reboot the PC. (UNACCEPTABLE FULL STOP). If the motherboard has overclocking futures (core cell, AI overclocking, whatever), they should work. You should be able to overclock around 5 - 10%. After all that is what all the advertising tells us. It’s built into the BIOS for crying out load.
People are pay huge amount of money for stuff that is not doing what is advertised to do and this is wrong and should not be tolerated. I believe a big reason for this is that manufactures are pushing stuff into the market with out properly testing there items, in am attempt to beat the competition to market. At the end of the day we as the consumer lose. One should not have to sit for days and days trying different BIOSs, RAM, PS/2 or USB mice, keyboards, VGA card, etc to get a motherboard stable and working. This is unacceptable full stop. I believe there is a hardware problem with the nForce3 chipset and some of the nvidia 6800 series of VGA cards. I agree it may not be a big one as a lot of hardware works, but there is sure something wrong or else so many people would not have so many problems. You pay good money for your half working stuff and that aint right FULL STOP.

• MediaSource 5 Organizer cr

Hello. I'm having a problem with MediaSource 5.0.38 Organizer.
MS5 Player opens and runs just fine, except when I try to open OGGs. I haven't tested this too much, but when I tried to open a Wiktionary pronunciation OGG (the one for "hat" specifically, chosen at random), the player started up, started asking about file type associations, said "hat", and then promptly crashed. I didn't check the error specs for that, because it only happened once. I tried opening an MP3 from another website and it played fine without crashing.
Organizer, on the other hand, starts up (regardless of whether it's through the Start Menu, opening an Internet file through Firefox, etc.), displays the Sources and Now Playing fields (the latter usually contains another Wiktionary OGG for "assuage" which I played before the crashes started), starts the file type association bit, and promptly crashes with a Windows XP "program has encountered an error and needs to close"-type error with these specs:
AppName: ctcmsu.exe
AppVer: 5.2.3.0
ModName: ctpcmlu.ecd
Modver:5.2.4.0
Offset: 000e5bc
Sometimes, the crash is so nasty that it also causes Dr. Watson Postmortem Debugger to crash. This doesn't seem to happen every time, but it happens enough. After the crash, Organizer remains open but frozen until I right-click it on the Taskbar and select close, at which point I am informed that it's not responding and have to click End Task before it closes.
I've updated my sound driver, thought I uninstalled all Creative software (apparently not since "assuage" was still in Now Playing, so I don't know what I missed) and reinstalled, and it still crashes.
After the Player crashed with "hat" I figured I'd try a different file-type. I opened an MP3 from the Internet with Player, and as I said it worked fine. Then I switched to Organizer view and it crashed in the same spot.
Is this something to do with my Library? Other threads lead me to believe it could be, but I don't know how to edit my library besides through Organizer.
I'm using a NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra, and have the appropriate driver (ZEN and NOMAD Jukebox Plugin 5.00.22 for Creative MediaSource 5 Player & Organizer) from Creative.com installed. It crashes regardless of whether the player is plugged in. I'm on Windows XP SP2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The same bug!
Yesterday I've uninstalled all Creative software with registry cleaning and complete file deleting to solve this problem.
I've installed latest version of drivers. MS5 (only skins and player was selected). Than NEO 6 + from original disk THX Console and Ent/Game/Audio consoles.
Organizer successfully imported my entire collection with mp3's and ogg's. Organizer worked fine for 5 hours and than crashed with error Offset: 000e5bc in ModName: ctpcmlu.ecd.
Now Organizer plays music, generates and plays Smart Playlist, but every attempt to access PC Music Library by clicking on it in the tree leads to error with Offset: 000e5bc in ModName: ctpcmlu.ecd.
I've manually deleted PC Music Library files in Doc_Set_User. No use. Crash during entire collection import. Even tried it with only one MP3 file. Successfully imported, but Organizer crashes every time when I click PC Music Library. So I think I need reinstall all Creative software once again.
Is there any solution?

• Trouble with Creative Mediasource

I'm using the latest driver (2.0.00) And Firmware (2.0.03), and CMS5 5.0.38, with the plugins for Zen and the PlaysForSure. My system us Windows XP, SP2, and I meet the minimum system reqs for the program.
Since "upgrading" to Creative MEdiasource 5, I've run into several problems, perhaps all interconnected.
--Mediasource takes an incredibly long time to load my Zen (40 GB Zen Xtra), upwards of 3 minutes. This took only a few seconds in previous versions. This is present when connected through my front, back and USB hub ports.
--Mediasource will rip a CD incredibly slowly. If I try to transfer more than one CD (That is, one, the procedure ends, and then start up another), I will get an error message and MEdiacsource will shut down.
--Sometimes, the window itself will disappear, and I will be unable to access it. This has happened a couple of times instead of the previous problem. The process will still run, but I will be unable to reload it, and trying to forcibly end the process (Task Manager) seems not to work. This also happens sometimes when I browse away from my Zen (Say, to a CD or file on my computer), and come back to my Zen.
I tried using my prior version, but it doesn't recognise my Playsforsure device at present, and I'm not sure if it's even possible to alter it.
Is anyone else having a similar problem? I loved Mediasource prior to this version: It was a sleek, easy and intuiti've interface and covered almost all of my Organisation needs. I did check the boards, but I may have missed a similar problem. I'm wondering if this is an issue that people have a solution to.
Any help's appreciated.

Hello:
I have formatted the player using the recovery menu as well as with WMP, because both are the recommended and "only" ways to format, depending on who you listen to. No difference, however in the way WMP behaves. When I get to the point where WMP can only sync a small few files, if I do a Cleanup (from rescue mode), let the Nomad rebuild the library, I can usually get more files in before it clogs up again. Every time I do a fresh format, I lose a couple of days worth of work, so I'm not doing it again.
I don't have any way to control how much of the library to synchronize once it has gotten past my playlists, unless I spend time creating more playlists for this purpose. With a 60 G Nomad, and a library suitable for that storage, that's a TON of music to deal with.
I'm still trying to figure out whether this is a Windows Media Player issue, a driver issue, or a Nomad firmware issue. Since I have to reset the Nomad between each sync attempt, and occasionally do a cleanup, I'm guessing it's the Nomad, and since I've seen it on more than one unit, I'm guessing it's a firmware bug.
I'm hoping someone else has seen this issue and has a better idea. I hate all my choices: Notmad is frustrating because I can't get my playlists to come across. Creative Media Source is less reliable than WMP, so that leaves WMP as the least aggravating way to sync, and it works flawlessly with my smaller sized Sansa Clip from the same library.

• MediaSource - functionality & playli

Dear all
i have a Zen Touch 40Gb, a large music library and a number of gripes. i apologise in advance for the length of my post but i'd be really grateful for any advice you can send my way. i've searched through a large number of similar threads on this forum but, frankly, i've not seen a lot of answers (one poor chap was told his was a duplicate question but there was no link to the acti've thread so he's probably still searching for the truth!):-
. Saving/Exporting playlists - a lot of people seem to have this problem/complaint: is there really no way of saving a playlist from MediaSource to a .m3u file? (please note, in response to something i read in another post, i've tried synchronising playlists to my Zen Touch and using the separate explorer software but there is no usable playlist file there either that any of my other software will recognise). i'm trying hard not to sound negati've but this seems like a really basic functionality, particularly given that you can IMPORT .m3u playlists into MediaSource - why not export 'em too?!
2. Sorting playlists - has anyone found a workaround in order to sort playlists created in MediaSource? whether i'm creating a compilation, building a mix, creating a sub-group, avoiding duplication of tracks in an existing list or just trying to vary the play order of my tunes this would be a REALLY useful feature and it seems so simple to include in the software. you can sort in the main music library so why not in the playlist view?! again, i haven't been able to sort playlists within the Zen Touch explorer software either. is there any plan to introduce this functionality? are there any practical workarounds?
3. Reporting playlists - it would also be useful to generate a report of track listings either from playlists or selected songs. the report format could be something no more sexy than a tab-separated text file. these can be pasted into a word or excel document and sorted/searched/printed/saved to our hearts' content. in the absence of functions # & #2 above, this would at least give me some options when it comes to saving and sorting my inspired playlists. alternati'vely, if functions # & #2 were available in MediaSource i could probably li've without #3. but with all of them absent i can barely describe MediaSource as an "organiser" because it simply doesn't enable you to do any real organising (if you're as dull as me, obviously!)
4. File conversion - i've a number of .wma files in my library - mainly 92kb
ps.
whenever i try to convert them to mp3 (i have my reasons!!) the process fails. the error message says the "format conversion is not supported". some (but not all) of these files are downloads from Napster but I purchased the tracks and they should therefore be free to burn to cd or to sync with a portable device so i don't think they are protected. is there any reason why i can't achieve this file conversion?
5. Navigation - again a dull and seemingly minor gripe but therein lies my irritation: the "backward" and "forward" buttons in MediaSource do not function like similar buttons in any other file explorer software i have used (whether designed for music files or otherwise). you can't navigate between recently viewed artist or album folders (of which i, and most other users, have many hundreds) - only between the main library and the playlists. it's not the end of the world but this seems like such a basic feature in any other navigation software that i just don't see why MediaSource doesn't work the same way.
Ideally, i would like to use MediaSource to organise all my music but at the very least if there was an EXPORT function i would be able to transfer the extensi've data & playlists i've already generated into other more sophisticated software. i could then tweak them for use in other programs and also re-import amended playlists back into MediaSource. there is plenty of good quality free software out there and some excellent specialist software available for a very minimal outlay that can organise your mp3s and playlists in ways MediaSource users can only dream of (assuming, of course, that you dream about computer programs. i don't, i promise!) if i could export my playlists i could probably ignore MediaSource for anything other than sync-ing with my Zen Touch and use a stand-alone mp3 organiser to manage my music. i would happily settle for this but I'm surprised and disappointed that a company that is so big in the music industry leaves me in this position.
i know i'm moaning (a lot) but these issues seem so basic to me that i am really frustrated with the lack of features in MediaSource. i chose my Zen Touch deliberately over and above any other mp3 player on the market (including the i-pod) for technical reasons and i stand by that decision. however, as another user has commented in this forum, performance doesn't count for very much if there is no functionality or support.
please, if there is anyone out there with some tips or workarounds to my problems, or someone from Creative who can tell me when software updates will be released to cover these issues, or someone who can point me to an existing thread which received an answer, i may even be willing to part with cash (<EM>may</EM>...!)
Many thanks
pip

• Remote Control and MediaSourc

I hava an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro. I formated my HD last night and reinstalled XP. I then installed the new drivers and Media Source 5 and new DTS Neo plugin. But when I tried to install the old Remote Control plugin, it didn't work, it said I don't have a new Media Source. I couldn't find a new version of the plugin (compatible with media source 5), so, how am I supposed to make remote control work?ThxClaudio Lima">[email protected]?

It is a known issue that the remote does not work in MediaSource 5.
See this thread....
http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=soundblaster&message.id=85763
You only alternati'ves are to:
. Go back to MediaSource 3.
2. Find alternati've Remote control software solutions that work regardless of the version of MediaSource. There are many alternati'ves if you search these forums.
Hope that helps!

Media Source 5 works fine but when I check the Creative website for updates it wants me to install all the Media Source 3 programs. Is this necessary or a glitch at Creative?
It seems that MediaSource 3 and MediaSource 5 are designed to coexist with each other. I believe that MediaSource 3 may still be needed for some (old) products. That may be the reason why installing MediaSource 5 does not automatically uninstall MediaSource 3.

• Zen Xtra won't appear in Creative MediaSource Organi

I've been using my 30 GB Jukebox for a couple years w/ no real problems except that I remember there being a problem w/ a USB port & I had to change something so that the Creative MediaSource Organizer software could recognize the mp3 player. Now I've bought a 60 GB Zen Xtra (same player, x2) & am having the same problem. I've upgraded everything & hate the new interface for transfering files... most of the time the program just freezes. I'd like to be able to use the same Creative software I was using before, but it doesn't recognize the new device. If anyone knows what I'm talking about or how I can fix it, I'd rather not have to call?Customer Service?again for $3.

I'm just giving this topic a bump. I've upgraded to Creative MediaSource Organizer v 3.30.2, but it won't recognize either of my mp3 players when I plug them in. I'm able to use the Zen Xtra Media Explorer, but?most of the time it just freezes up. I'd like to be able to use the software I'm familiar w/, so if anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it. I seem to remember having a similar problem when I first purchased my 30 GB Zen Xtra.

• DTS NEO:

How is the upmix functionality of this activated?
from your own press release.....
"DTS Neo:6 injects the power of surround sound into any stereo source material such as MP3 and CDs."
This is NOT CMSS correct?!? I have looked through all of the mediasource options.... didnt see any dts or upmix tab? whats the deal?
thanks for your replies in advance.

<SPAN><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=4>Hi Jeremy:
<SPAN>Perhaps I should rephrase for you. The Audigy 2 ZS decoder does not properly support DTS 5. surround music.<SPAN> I have listened to numerous DTS music discs via the Audigy 2 ZS decoder and MediaSource player and it either produces inferior distorted sound or simply static noise.<SPAN> Please do not take my word for it. Feel free to do a Google search and see how many unhappy Audigy 2 ZS users there are when trying to enjoy DTS music discs.<SPAN>
<SPAN>Now, here is the dismal part, as Creative Labs cries foul with Logitech?s external decoder, Logitech says the same regarding Creative?s decoder. Therefore, you have both companies pointing the finger at each other.<SPAN> As the Audigy 2 ZS fails to properly support DTS music, Logitech?s 5500 decoder does support DTS music to some extent. Though it is clear by the ?DTS? displayed on the LCD, the Logitech decoder has a problem with the tempo of DTS music. In other words, it plays the music too fast. It sounds as though the chipmunks are singing each song.<SPAN> I am told that DTS music is played at a rate different from a standard wave, or MP3.<SPAN> Again, it is clear that the music is in 5. surround because the sounds are emanating from all fi've speakers. Therefore, Logitech 5500 and Audigy 2 ZS owners have two options.<SPAN> Listen to DTS music discs in sub-par Audigy mode, or listen through Logitech's external decoder in 5. surround "chipmunk" mode.<SPAN> Undoubtedly, frustrating given the fact that I paid $500 for high quality listening.<SPAN>
<SPAN>The crux of this matter Jeremy is that there are untold links, forums, and complaints of users just like myself who are absolutely perplexed by this lingering problem. However, referencing the threads within your own website, surely tells a different story. Unfortunately, these problems continue.<SPAN> Let me ask you, does Creative Labs perform compatibility testing?<SPAN> <SPAN>
<SPAN><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=4>I have scoured your website and wasted countless hours trying to ?enable? PROPER Audigy?s support for DTS music.<SPAN> Because there is no application within the Creative Labs suit that indicates the operation of DTS, I have no way of knowing that DTS is actually enabled.<SPAN> Therefore, I am forced to simply play it by ?ear. <SPAN> By listening by ear, I know that DTS is not functioning properly under the Audigy 2 ZS decoder.<SPAN> I have tried your MediaSource player, PowerDVD6, WinDVD6, NVIDIA DVD, Windows Media Player 0, and ensured that DTS Neo: 6 is enabled.<SPAN> Again, no dice with DTS under your product.<SPAN> Perhaps, we should focus on ?Quality DTS decoding? going forward.<SPAN> As you clearly believe, the Audigy 2 ZS supports DTS music, it does not. That is, to the extent that the user is embroiled in true DTS 5. surround.
<SPAN>Please prove me wrong, I beg you.<SPAN> Specifically, explain to me how and in what specific hardware and software configuration the Audigy 2 ZS utilizes DTS music in 5. surround.<SPAN> Feel free to link me to one of your step by steps that details how to enable DTS 5. surround sound music.<SPAN> If I am wrong, I will have no problem retracting or updating my statements. However, I have attempted every suggestion and procedure here and elsewhere with consistently awful results. To reiterate, my configuration is the Audigy 2 ZS with the latest software updates across the board. I have the Logitech 5500 5. speaker system and I am connected using the Digial Out on the back of the Audigy 2 ZS.<SPAN> Lastly, as your customer, I want YOU to figure out what is going on between the Logitech 5500 speakers and the Audigy 2 ZS.<SPAN> Creative Labs is a large enough company that they should be capable of addressing competitor?s products from a compatibility standpoint when used with the Audigy 2 ZS.
<SPAN><SPAN>Now your taken to task...

• Mediasource 5 Functionality Changes...w

I have loved the MediaSource Player/Organizer ever since it was shipped with the first Audigy card I purchased some time ago. I believe it was version 3 back then...the layout, functionality and easy of use made it the best player I had ever used- I swore by the thing.
I have now been forced to upgrade to Mediasource version 5...and I'm really dissappointed- by 2 major things- Sorry if this has been covered before- I've been looking for an answer for ever.
. MP3 recording/conversion is now a "Pay for added plugin"...REALLY? Come on!!! It was included free in previous versions...OK fine. I can deal with this one.
2. This is the big one. Why does double clicking a song clear out THE ENTIRE now playing list and set it as the only song in there?? In previous versions, it would just append the clicked song to the now playing queue...this is what made MediaSource great to begin with! The idea that the "Now Playing" list was a "temporary play list". Having to right-click and select 'add to now playing' is rediculous. I was trying to deal with having to do that......built a nice now playing list of ~50 songs....then I accidentally double-clicked another one, and BAM!! all gone. There has GOT to be a way around this.
I have looked though the options...nothing. I was really bored and quickly browsed through the registry...but to no avail. Please tell me I'm not the only one that HATES this?!?! Please tell me that there is some kind of work around that I'm just missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks-
Jake

When did the loss of MP3 functionality happen? I just used Mediasource 5.20.something earlier today and ripped two CDs as MP3s. I reinstalled it and now I can't rip as MP3s. Did it happen today?
Ugh. I was trying to rip Let It Be from the compilation as a WAV just now, and it was taking about ten minutes, andat 44% it just told me there was an error and stopped.

• MediaSource and Playli

Hello,
is there a way to sort the items of a playlist in MediaSource? If i want to update a playlist (-> add/remove songs) it's very hard to know if a song is already in the playlist becuase the songs are ordered by time and not - for example - the band name. If I remember correct this ordering is also used in the player (for me it's a ZenTouch) that makes it even harder to find a certain song in the playlist because of you can't go to the band and then search there for a song. You have to search the entire list.
What I want to say is, that, when I click on the name of a column in the players media library it is orderd for that column but that doesn't work in a playlist. It annoyes me because of it happens that I add a song two times in a playlist or can't find it later on the player in the list. I reinstalled the MediaSource softwar recently so I don't think it is because of a installation failure.
It would be nice to have this function (especially so I wouldn't have to recreate a playlist from the bottom when I want to do some bigger changes).

?2. Sorting playlists - has anyone found a workaround in order to sort playlists created in MediaSource? whether i'm creating a compilation, building a mix, creating a sub-group, avoiding duplication of tracks?in an existing list or just trying to vary the play order of my tunes this would be a REALLY useful feature and it seems so simple to include in the software. you can sort in the main music library so why not in the playlist view?!? again, i haven't been able to sort playlists within the Zen Touch explorer software either. is there any plan to introduce this functionality? are there any practical workarounds?

• K8T Neo F1S2R No Longer Boots - Help Diagnosing

Hello,
I've had good service from my K8T Neo Athlon 64 mobo for 2 years. Today when I turned on the PC, all the fans cranked up and nothing more. The four test LEDs stayed red. No beeps, no display to the monitor. The light on one CD drive (I have 2) and the HD light come on solid at power up. According to the manual, four red LEDs at power up indicates a bad processor or processor connection and nothing more.
I removed my Audigy sound card since I know it has been known to cause boot-up problems on these boards. Still no boot.
What I need to know is if this is most likely a bad processor as stated in the manual, or something else like a bad mobo or power supply (Enermax). I don't have a spare processor, 64 bit PC, nor power supply to swap and check, so I need to know what is the best step process to resolving the problem. I'd just hate to go out and buy a new processor to find out the problem isn't the processor.
Thanks!

UPDATE: Kudos to MSI support! I RMAed my original failed, over 2 year old K8T NEO via the MSI online support system. Shipped the K8T back to MSI on 4/11 and received a replacement on 4/26. It took only 11 business days, east coast to west coast and back.
I was having stability issues with the new K8MM-V motherboard described here https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=95656.0
in that I was unable to run my Radeon 9800 Pro at "full" hardware acceleration without crashes. I could only get stability using the onboard graphics or setting the Radeon 9800 to "low" hardware acceleration (the setting next to "none").
Pulled out the K8MM-V and installed the warranty replacement K8T NEO. The replacement K8T booted flawless, only requiring reinstallation of the Radeon 9800 Pro's Omega drivers on the first boot. I've had flawless performance with hardware graphics acceleration set at "full" with no reboots or blackouts since.
It was easy as pie to execute warranty service with MSI.
A big thank you to MSI for their fine support and for providing this forum....and a just as big thank you to all the fine folks here for offerering their expertise and help to us novices.

• MediaSource not connected to pla

How do I transfer newly created playlists and songs from my Mediasource to my Zen Touch? I do not see my Zen anywhere within the Mediasource screen.

i have the same problem. i posted it in general and i said this
so i upgraded everything MTP and firmware so i can use my zen xtra with my xbox 360. well i lost all my music(i dont mind and i was expecting it) but now it uses WMP as a default way to transfer the files over. for some reason i hate WMP and when i make a playlist and send it over...it never saves the playlist on my zen and just puts it in the library. i was use to the Media source cuz i use to make the playlist and just drag them over which was really easy. is there a way to use the media source again, if so how because it wont recognize my player. if not, can anyone give me instructions on how to successfully transfer over a playlist that will save as that playlist on my zen using WMP. thanks alot guysbut the guy said to dl the latest media source and have the plugin for it. well i did and i still dont see my player in the mediasource window. hopefully someone can help us out

• Creative MediaSource Go! software updat

I've scanned the postings and can't find an answer to this. How do I update Creative MediaSource Go! to a newer version? I was viewing the other updates available for my system, I saw that the CMS Go! version needed to be 3.0 or newer. I have .0.26.0 and SB Audigy 2, which came with my Dell in 2004. After I updated the driver about 2 weeks ago, everything seems to be working fine, but if there is a way to update CMS Go!, I can't find it.
With all the problems people seem to be having with SB lately, I'm reluctant to fix something that currently isn't broken, but I'm thinking about the future. If I don't update what might need updating, will I be abandoned at a later date?
Thanks.
